Horrible. I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone, and especially not to women with fair skin. I did the test area and it was fine, so I coated my legs as the directions said. within one minute it started to BURN! So I immediately jumped in the shower with the sponge and took it off. It took the hair off my legs alright! Along with about three layers of skin! Anything my skin comes in contact with hurts bad! and my legs are covered in a painful red dotted rash.

I just used the new veet hair removal cream for facial hair. I used it on my upper lip, and even though i did a spot check which seemed fine, once i removed it all I realized that the majority of my upper lip area is bright red and feels like it is on fire. Now the skin feels extremely tender, like a burn, and very very noticable. I have no idea how to make this rash go away, but I know I am throwing this product in the bin.

“I have spent hundreds of dollars on hair removal...”

★★★★★

written by vincy wiese on 23/08/2007

I have spent hundreds of dollars on hair removal products, and they didn't work. I am very hairy, so I was very happy to find Veet Hair Removal Cream, because it really works. I have told all my friends about it, and they use it now. I will never shave again. I know it's more expensive than buying blades, but I don't care. I wish they made a product for facial hair too.

I do have a question, and would appreciate it if anyone can help me by leaving a comment... Can you go in the sun right after you use Veet? I do, and it does not bother me.

My legs feel smoother than when I shave. I'm really impressed!! Thank you so much Veet.

DO NOT sunbathe or swim for 24 hours after using Veet Hair Removal cream. Avoid contact with jewelry. For external use only.

If I wanted to purchase a moisturizer I would have done but this is a sheer waste of money in my eyes. I bought the cream that you have to put on and it comes off in the shower with a little sponge like on the adverts. It cost around £5 its good for about a three times use but none of these worked for me. Every time I used it the cream removed only a few of my hairs but moisturized my legs so it really didn't do the job. From now on I think I'm going to stick to more conventional methods.

“Wear gloves, wear gloves, WEAR GLOVES. The proteins in...”

written by yasabii on 23/06/2007

Wear gloves, wear gloves, WEAR GLOVES. The proteins in hair that are dissolved by these products are also in your fingernails! (And toenails too, for those of us looking to be less hobbit-like.)
I used a sensitive skin formula with that plastic-and-rubber-razor applicator/remover. I washed my hands between sections of my legs, but apparently that's not enough. A little bit of the Veet Hair Removal Cream got under my nail and ate a hole through it. I kid you not. Luckily I have long nails and was able to trim off that part, but the surrounding area is now exceptionally weak and flimsy. In fact, all of my nails are now weakened and their tops are scuffed up horribly. I had to learn the hard way, but if my experience can help someone else avoid some grief... well, I'll still be annoyed, but at least I'll feel a little vindicated. Before this, I had long, strong nails that I could use with confidence, and, yes, a bit of pride for practical matters like peeling those stubborn labels off fruit and what-not. Hopefully it's not permanent.
On the other hand, it does actually dissolve hair, which is nice. I'd only recommend it for short sessions though.

“I used this for the first time, and for the first time...”

★★★★☆

written by krithikrish on 21/05/2007

I used this for the first time, and for the first time in my life I have had the hair removed without pain. Threading, waxing and shaving, all are very painful. I also have an epilator, and I tried using that, but it's also painful and time-consuming.

Veet Hair Removal Cream was completely pain free and quick. It also has left my skin soft and silky. I did not have any burns, rashes or itching after using this. However, I am not very sure as to how the re-growth of hair would be; whether it will be quick or not, and if the hair will be thin or coarse; that's something which I have to wait and see.

Cost-wise .. Hmm .. it's okay compared to the other methods, and especially considering that you don't have to suffer the pain.

I am a teenage girl, and I would recommend all the teenager girls to use Veet Hair Removal Cream.

It smells much better, compared to other hair removal creams, and it is also very convenient to use.

“I am a Professional Cosmetologist and I would NEVER...”

☆☆☆☆☆

written by Kathryn Butler on 12/07/2006

I am a Professional Cosmetologist and I would NEVER recommend this product. It is completely UNPROFESSIONAL and it is dangerous to the skin and Lungs.

It is not effective no matter how long you leave it on. It will burn the hair away at the top, but not the roots or anything below the epidermis(outermost layer of skin).
Your results will be Irritated skin, redness, swelling(on some cases), burning, itching, rashes, and extreme discomfort.

Stick with Wax. Any Nair product will be extremely dangerous to the skin and your body, and the outcome will be all the symptoms I've listed and an unhappy customer.

You're better off shaving(warm water to open pores for a closer shave and soap of some sort to prevent shafting and razor burn. Follow with a good lotion or olive oil to moisten) or go for a good quality wax.

Don't waste your money on Veet or Nair Products.

Waxing is a terrible idea! I waxed for over a year straight in my bikini area, and had a ton of painful ingrown hairs. All of my friends had the same experience. I went back to shaving and had the razor bumps problem. I have since switched to Veet, and I love this product! It gets rid of the hair, and it has left me with NO irritation. I did try Nair in the past, and I did not like the smell and felt the burning sensation. This product is totally different! It smells great, and it works really well.

I bought Veet because my 14 year old daughter wanted to try it, so I wanted to test the product first. I did the spot test and had no problems, so I decided to try it on my legs. I waited the 3 minutes and shaved it off with the tool. I still had hairs left but it was starting to burn so I finished up and decided it didn't work. I went right to bed and woke up in the middle of the night with burns on my legs. I am in a lot of pain and will be going to my doctor. I have never had a problem with any hair removal product in the past.

written by katifer on 01/08/2005

I saw this and thought it would be worth a try. I bought the 3 minute one with silk extact. it cost £2.99, normally it is £3.99. I tried it on a small area beforehand, to check that I didn't have a bad reaction to it. I left it on for 3 minutes, and it worked a treat, so I carried on doing the rest. This is when I noticed that it absolutely stinks. When the 3 minutes was up and I started to remove the cream with the spatula, I noticed it had really irritated my legs and made them red and sore, but it hadn't on the skin test, when I did a sample area. I quickly removed it and washed off the excess, my legs are still irriated and stubbly, as it did not remove all the hair! Don't buy it! It really does smell terrible! (My room still smells), and it doesn't really work, not for me anyway.

written by Aldergates on 26/05/2005

Veet Hair Removal Cream - Please do NOT buy this product. It's a complete waste of money. Although it claims to last longer than a shave, it does not. The cream dissolves the hair above the skin, but has no effect on the hair roots.

written by sparkeyscoph on 13/04/2005

Veet Hair Removal Cream is a good product. I use it for my bikini line and its a lot better than shaving as theres no stubble rash! Although I did once use it for my underarms but it brought me out in a horible scabby rash which lasted a couple of days! It also takes a while to use - approx ten minutes, but I couldnt live without it. Although it quite pricey, it does last a long time. If your thinking of giving it a go, go for it, you've nothing to loose except hair!

I find that no matter how long you leave Veet Hair removal cream on for you always have some odd hairs left. Although the makers have tried to make the smell more acceptable it still reeks and leaves an odour in your bathroom for a while afterwards. It also leaves my legs feeling slightly itchy. I think in general creams are best avoided, they just don't do the job properly.
