Saturday 26 October Captain Phillips film was spoilt by the audience talking and laughing and using mobile phone . Not enough supervision no one came in as far as I could see young audience .The film was brilliant shame about audience .

“More ticket offers please!”

★★★☆☆

written by janesmith1975 on 22/10/2013

I love going to the cinema. Seeing a film on the big screen is so much better. However, the price of the seats and the crammed leg room is not! Why on earth have ticket prices gone up and up and up. For me to go and see a film on my own its around a tenner. I could buy the film on DVD to watch as many times as I like. It doesn't help the leg room is so small too and the seats not that comfortable unless you're seating in the premier seats (for an extra charge). I know Cinemas need to be a little more expensive but a trip to the cinema for a family of four can cost around the same price as feeding them for a week. Four tickets, drinks, sweets, maybe a 3D film instead of the normal 2D. Is the experience really worth it? In the last year I have only been to the cinema twice and both times I have paid with vouchers that have cost me half the price (thanks to a friend) and my tesco reward points. I would much rather spend my money elsewhere, as I don't feel the cinema is value for money nowadays. Gone are the days of queuing around the block to see the latest blockbuster.

“Odeon Cinemas - Cold, unfriendly and grubby”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 19/09/2013

Visited our local Odeon cinema in Stoke on Trent to see THE CONJURING. The staff were unhelpful and appeared bored. We weren't too sure where the entrance to our particular theatre was and when we asked we were treated to a very rude sigh. The auditorium itself was very dark, very cold and more than a little grubby. The seats themselves could have done with a good cleaning. Once the film started, the picture was poorly illuminated and slightly out of focus. The sound was reasonable. Aftertge film the cleaners' lights were hastly switched on during the end credits - no pissibility of reading them it seems! Overall, a rather ddisappointing, lacklustre experience.

“try to trick you into buying extras without you noticing!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by mileyscott on 22/08/2013

Each time I visit the Odeon(Bromborough) I am forever conned into paying extra for things to do not want such as premier seating, loyalty cards etc ....these are always added on without my knowledge and its only when I am about to walk off with my change and receipt I actually realise. it is always the same woman too! The last time it happened was when I went to watch Despicable Me. I asked for 2 x 2D tickets and was charged for Premier seating....Not at any point did I ask for these. I only noticed when I gave my tickets in to another member of staff when going to the screen, this member of staff informed me that I had Premier seating and could sit anywere i wanted. I asked if I had been charged for that. He replied 'yes you will have'. I got fed up and went back for a refund even though I had paid by card. I felt by principle they should not get away with this. The look on the woman's face when i asked for a refund said it all. She was clearly unhappy and had the nerve to say to me''oh you didn't want premier seating??@' like she didn't know exactly what she had done!! On another occasion when going to see another kids movie, the movie was late starting by 10 minutes and people were all asked to wait outside as the cleaner was still inside. She had the worst attitude I have ever experienced in such a role. When she eventually did finish her job she walked out mumbling that everyone were ignorant b*******s!! Refreshments are way too over priced even for a cinema. they do ''deals'' such a popcorn and drink for £5....they may think this is a bargain but seriously....out of date popcorn in a bag that's dried out and tastes like plastic? and diluted pepsi!! It is for this reason I always visit the light nowadays, not only is the seating more comfortable but you don't feel like your being conned everytime you go to buy tickets. Also the staff seem very pleasant, always saying hello and using manners etc Odeon has gone downhill by a mile. I begrudge handing over my hard earned money to these people and will go out of my way to avoid this place like the plague from now on!

“One of the worst websites”

★★☆☆☆

written by mb776655 on 17/08/2013

One of the worst website designs I have come across. 3 main things most visitors will be interested in 1)Movie 2) Where it is showing/time 3) Book tickets. The brains (or none) behind the site have made this so difficult. Learn from google! land on page, enter search, click go done! Tried searching for Iron Man 3! The frustration shoots through head.Gives details of the movie, no sign of how to book the ticket. As if they have designed to discourage people from buying tickets. BUY TICKETS should be the biggest boldest flashiest sign on webpage almost walking you step by step towards buying..!! what a waste!

“Odeon Norwich ”

★★★☆☆

written by on 20/07/2013

Even though we where going through a mini heatwave on the day in question the weather outside was overcast and wet and a bit chilly so I was really hacked off when we walked into the odeon Norwich to find they had there air conditioning on full and it was about 2c in the foyer and most people shivering . We then had about an hour to kill before the film started and decided to go for a coffee. We had been pre warned about odeons changing there policy so that people's points expire after a certain date. However to withdraw products ie coffee and soft drinks and snacks from your shop/bar from the scheme is ridiculous. I have accumulated 1750 points and paid for two showings that evening. I had eight days left two either spent my points or loose them but but you changing thè goal posts the odds where stacked against me unless I wanted to drown in popcorn, icecream or coke which has a mark up of at least 200% and then is watered down with more ice. There was a time when going to the flicks meant something . Now now a days it means you have to keep your wits about you as the bady is not always in the film but serving you from behind a counter.

“riduculous age assumptions”

★☆☆☆☆

written by baggieboy3000 on 30/05/2013

Me and my mate are both 18 and we went to see a 15 yet to our dissmay we were turned away by the rude/abusive woman at the till (who looked about 12 herself). Next to us was a charming young gentleman and his mom who was telling them that he was 15 when they weren't letting him into a 12 however they refused #disgusted.

“Ridiculous prices and terrible customer service at...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by bettybarton on 24/04/2013

Aylesbury Odeon is terribly over priced for both tickets and food! Yet despite being one of the most expensive cinemas I've been to the customer service did not reflect this at all! The man serving me behaved appallingly, he was very unhelpful and seemed annoyed that I had turned up during a quite period and forced him to work. When trying to get loyalty points put on to my card he simply tried to scan the receipt once, threw it back at me and said 'wont scan, cant do it'. I then had to tell him he could type the bar code into the system to which he replied 'It's too small to read'. I then had to read out the code to him with him rolling his eyes at me. The supervisor on shift was also unhelpful, only one poor girl was trying to serve a growing queue and her supervisor just watched and said he had sent the other staff on breaks so no-one was available to help. Wont be returning.

“Disgusting toilets”

★★☆☆☆

written by Emmaxangel on 15/04/2013

Disgusting and vile toilet facilities in the women's toilets. More than 5 out of order but where not locked but to show out of order a sanitary bit was put on top of the seat and all you could see was feaces and blocked tissue...so revolting!

“Absolutely, hopelessly, unhelpful Silverlink website”

★☆☆☆☆

written by brianinfrance on 05/04/2013

I never got to see the film. The website made me register, giving name, post code, birth date and other non-relevant tosh. Then I had to log in. I finally got to choose the film. I chose a family ticket. Then it wanted me to type in either 4 or 8 but didn't explain why or what or how much. Then there was a problem. It didn't say what or why or how to fix it. Just try again later or pay 10p per minute to make a booking by phone. Life's too short. We went to the park instead. Didn't have to book, be a memeber, go on line or pay. There was nothing positive about this abortive experience on the Silverlink site

“ not respecting workplace ”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 21/03/2013

I visited on a quiet Monday evening Richmond Odeon, the best day when you want to watch a movie in peace. What seemed to me out of place was that the team member - young bald boy, behaved as it not should be in the work place. I have heard for a long time him arguing with someone-guest maybe or maybe colleague. Remember how he had treated person on the other side of the counter, using vulgar words, very loud, with no respect to human being. I waited 15 minutes for my wife, and even when we went through, they still argued. This situation has not belonged to a pleasant and certainly not as an employee should behave and also his untidy appearance-beard-in place where they serve food, distasteful summing: -customer service by not respecting workplace arrogant spoiled kids. Little advice to management: pay attention to how your employee treats customers, team member represents you and Odeon.

“Odeon Cinemas - RIP OFF!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 15/03/2013

What an outrage - not been to the cinema for years so thought three of us would go for a 'treat'. The booking system is archaic, they charge extra for what we would consider a 'normal' seat but they think it's 'premium' then charge you for actually buying a ticket! And when they send the booking details the text is so tiny that you need a magnifying glass to read it - obviously done on purpose so that you might mistake the date or reference number. Never again Odeon - you got out money this time, but never again.

“Booking an Odeon Kids movie on line”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 27/02/2013

Have tried for over 1 hour to book an odeon kids movie with advertised mum goes free and am getting absolutely nowhere. When trying to book for the advertised movie for the sunday I want it is asking for payment for adults who should be free and to top that wants an extra 75p for each person booking. Look at your local competitor and see how it's done, Odeon.

“Odeon Wimbeldon Feb 2013”

★★☆☆☆

written by DavidLewis1036 on 25/02/2013

Odeon: Wimbledon: Went to see Zero Dark 30 in Cinema 1 at 20.40. The brightness of the image for the trailers and film was very poor - way worse than any screening I have been to at any cinema in the last 12 months. The screen was not masked to the projected image size, large areas left to the left and right of the image. The cinema was generally quite messy, and the toilets were in a totally terrible state and a disgrace to any establishment. Appreciate it was half term, but I went to a Cineworld in Wales last week, in what was their half term, and it was a total pleasure. Brilliant picture, immaculate cinema, CLEAN toilets. Would have to say Wimbledon Odeon would rank on one of my worst modern day cinema going experiences. On reflection I cant believe they are allowed to show a modern, current release film in that terrible way . . . . . seriously makes me appreciate blu-ray and make your own popcorn at home!! (Odeao replied to say: the brightness of pciture was usual, and they no longer mask screens at digital multiplexes. State of facilities was just life, in a half term, they did their best. Declined the offer of free comp tickets.)

“Avoid female toilets at Stoke Odeon”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 17/02/2013

Disgusting toilets for the ladies in the main foyer - Several soiled/unflushed toilets/flooring. At least 2 other toilets that wouldn't flush. 1 usable soap dispenser out of 3 (1 empty, 1 covered in blood). 1 usable hand-dryer (2 positioned over a radiator making them awkward to use). Can't believe that the filthiest untrained females used these toilets just before me to leave it in such a state - more likely that they hadn't been checked/cleaned for many hours, possibly even all day (I went to them after our film at 4.30pm on a weekday).

“A Cinema to Avoid!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Johnsta on 20/01/2013

After trudging through snow-covered streets I arrived at the Odeon Cinema, Union Street, Bristol to see 'Life of Pi.' Cost me just under £10 with a 'Premier' seat and 3D specs - not cheap! First irritation was that you have to pay by card - cash not allowed! Second was that the card machine was fixed in such a way on the customer side of the counter that it was impossible to enter your pin number without any and all behind you seeing it: truly insensitive to customers' needs. Third - the cinema was absolutely freezing: fortunate that I was well dressed up! Fourth, the water in the toilet/washroom was 'cold only.' Must be some serious management problems at this city centre cinema. Wake up Odeon - this is a competitive world and lots of businesses going bust! Lots of good cinemas around nowadays - I certainly won't be going there again.

“worse and worse”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 08/12/2012

The Odeon Kingston simply goes from bad to worse.Having always been hopeless at having the right number of ticket staff we have now moved to escalators out of order for nearly six months. It cannot be that they can't be fixed so it must be to save electricity.Customer satisfaction?I don't think so.And now to make matters far worse,no heating for the last four weeks! "We don't seem to be able to fix it"Oh dear poor you.Meanwhile you have no heating bills and we freeze to death. The worst thing is the Odeon doesn't care. All we need is a gesture, half price tickets in the freezing cold would do the trick, but no,because they don't care.
