I arranged on New Year’s Eve to buy an A class Mercedes at a good price. I had a finance quote and paid £500 deposit and was told my next contact would be with the dealer. 9 0 ‘clock on the 2nd January, I get a phone call saying the car has increased in price and so has the APR. Not so much as drive the Deal, I think . Very disappointed at we thought we had a deal

Directed to their website by the “Honest John “ website whilst researching online new car discounts. I’m always aware of fake websites etc.and was keen to know more before committing. Easy to speak to them. Very professional explanation of how they work & confirmation of the approx.£6k discount they were offering for the Seat Ateca I was wanting. Placed my deposit and within a few days the paperwork arrived followed by contact from the supplying dealer. Car was delivered 3 months later by a very professional driver who had obviously taken car of my brand new car on its 100 mile journey. Overall a good experience and would thoroughly recommend DtD to anyone. A good way to purchase a new car at the best possible price.

After much investigation I decided to buy a Mercedes B class as I thought it was the most suitable car for our lifestyle. After research and reading about DriveTheDeal I contacted them through their website. They explained very clearly how they operate. I ordered the car and DtD told me where they would point me as far as the dealership was. Paid them a £500 deposit (this was a Friday) and on the Monday I received a phone call from the dealer who would be supplying the vehicle. I think that the discount ended up being GBP6k odd. I have used DTD twice now and been happy both times. They take a lot of the hassle and BS out of buying the car. They give you an appx delivery date, you can choose to pick the car up from the dealer or have them deliver it ( driven not flatbed). These are new cars not pre reg. Very happy with it and cannot see why you would waste time and money going into a dealer.

Very good, I've used them many times over the years. I saved £7k on my latest purchase. The downside is their dealer network does seem to be flung to all parts of the UK meaning you'll have to travel quite a distance on collection day. But a day's worth of pain is worth it when you're saving so much.

“Do not hesitate when buying new”

As a first time user I was a bit nervous but it was a perfect experience and one I would recommend to anyone buying a new car. I even cancelled my original order with no fuss and both Drivethedeal and the dealer made everything easy to transfer all details to the new car. Pleasure to deal with, I will definitely use this service again. I collected my brand new car as any other deal but I got a huge saving as a bonus. Car was NOT pre registered, was on correct plates and I have all the options (e.g. service packages) as if buying from a dealer.

No there is only one Drivethedeal. Do NOT accept any pre registered car. Dtd advise this immediately. You need to go through the website, there is no tele sales. Registration is free and there is no commitment after getting a quote online. If you want to proceed further acceot the quote and dtd will contact you. Its simple from there and my contact put me in comms with a VW dealer. Dont be fooled by other websites especially ones asking for commission. Dtd never got a penny from me, they get it from the dealer you agree the sale with.

My family and I have used Drive The Deal several times over the past 12 years. (6+ cars) I don't like haggling and am not a fan of salespeople. This service gets you a brilliant price on a brand new car but with no hassle. It's a no-brainer. You might have to travel to pick up your new car if you don't want it delivered, but you have to do that anyway if you're after something specific. In today's untrusting world you'd think there would be a catch. There just isn't. You'll pay less for a new car than a used one. Perfect. The guys are in England and easy to chat to. They use normal dealerships and if you pick up your car(rather than having it delivered) it's exactly the same as if you'd paid the premium for trying (and failing) to get a good deal yourself. I have no hesitation in recommending them and think they do an amazing job.

A friend recommended drive the deal. I was a little nervous but couldn’t have been more wrong. Everything was stream less The best price by miles (local deaterships couldn’t get close) I was told which dealership within 48 hrs. They contacted me directly and were superb. Kept in contact with me, I chose my number plate from the list. I paid my deposit 48 hrs before collecting (I had to collect as I was using finance) but the dealership covered my travel cost and They collected me from the station. Everything was explained in full and they gave me a full demo of the car before I left. I’m super impressed with the end to end process. Well done drive the deal AND the dealership

Despite being a very loyal Audi customer, my local Audi dealer didn’t offer me a good deal when looking to buy another TT. I found DrivetheDeal completely by chance and decided to make an initial enquiry, and was pleasantly surprised at the excellent customer service and simple process of obtaining a quote. I was even more surprised and delighted to find out how much of a saving I could make on a brand new Audi TT compared to the price quoted by my local Audi dealer. My local dealer offered ZERO discount and a poor trade in value. I checked DtD and found 9% discount on offer so I ordered a car. I paid the car dealership a £500 deposit and was promised delivery in January (same month as my local dealer said). In January I picked up my new car, I sold my old car very easily using one of the many car buying services available now and for £2,000 more than the local dealer had offered. The dealer service was excellent and I'm about £5,500 better off than going with my (greedy) local dealer. I heartily recommend DrivetheDeal.

Great service and saved more than other discounters quoted. I bought a new 2019 A Class and they found a Mercedes dealer near to my home. A small deposit was paid to confirm my acceptance which passed on to the dealership. Delivery of the new car was delayed because of an emissions embargo so Mercedes arranged a loan car for the duration of the delay and the dealer covered the cost of the insurance ...... excellent service and quite unexpected! Well done DTD and Mercedes.

Hi jspiper, I bought a Mitsubishi Outlander through them and the transaction was smooth and courteous. Once you accept their quotation, they take a deposit from you and pass it to the dealer of choice. You have to bear in mind that the service merely introduces you to a dealer for the car that you want and that the majority of the transaction will be you talking direct to the dealer, although the dealer may not be just around the corner from you. The price they quote you will be for a car without extras, unless already included in that model but you can add these down the line. I saved a good deal of money and I'm positive that my negotiating with a dealer as an individual would not have got me close to the resulting price. The money you can save will depend on when you buy i.e. when the dealers need to make targets is the best time and Drive the Deal will almost certainly have specials on for that purpose but speak to them, they are helpful and will advise. By the way, they can't access every car make and model out there.

I dont suppose that will happen often, but in my case my initial enquiry/order was placed just days before VW introduced a discount campaign on my particular model. And yes they did reduce the price further, improving the deal. i have used them twice before and have found them very helpful on initial enquiry/ order placement. once I have been contacted by the supplying dealer, this has been totally hassle free also and any changes in spec on my order have been sorted with appropriate discount. PS Your contact at supplying dealer tends to be the fleet/corporate person rather than retail sales person. Recommended

The deal I got was dependent on taking out the manufacturer's finance on a PCP contract which was at 0% but included a deposit contribution of £750 so worth taking. If I was paying cash the price was £750 more.

The deals depend on the car you choose to buy. However, you don't take finance out through Drive The Deal. Once you've chosen your car all subsequent dealings are direct with the dealer who will be supplying the car. Typically, however, you may find you get a better deal if you take out finance with the dealer, e.g. higher dealer deposit. If you go through the process of selecting a particular model on the Drive The Deal website it clearly states what your option are with regard to finance and what benefits you may get if you take the finance out with the dealer or not. In my case I took out a finance deal on an Audi A6 which allowed me to get a £2250 dealer deposit.

Drive the Deal put you in touch with their discounting dealer. Once the dealer makes contact with you it is exactly the same as if you walked into the dealership from the street. Payment can generally be done however you want it, cash or finance. However, some prices which DtD quote are only available if you take out a specific finance or PCP package. DtD's quotes do make this pretty clear though - just read the quote carefully!

This depends on the dealer but in my case I was given the option of having VW PCP or HP or a straight cash purchase. Dont think DTD do any finance.. They juggled around the PCP also to minimise Interest on a previous purchase (Wifes Polo) in the end I got offered a better HP from another Finance source but Dealer didn't bat an eyelid about this and sorted it all out for me with a couple of e-mails so all complete a day before collection. If you get PCP finance from DTD, at the end of the agreed term do you have to return the car to the original dealer that supplied the car (that is several miles away from me) or can I return it to another main dealer?

Drive the deal only broker the deal. I paid my deposit and sorted the Ford finance through the specified Ford dealer. Don't hesitate unless you get a better price elsewhere. The Ford finance came with a £2000 deposit incentive on top of the discounted price.

Drive the Deal do not source cars directly, they only put you in touch with a dealer who is prepared to supply at the discounted price. So if the dealer had a car of the right spec in stock, or could obtain one through their national network, then They should be able to supply immediately. Why not ring Drive the Deal for a chat - they are really helpful I found, and won't force you into anything.

They have full access to vehicles in stock also, so if delivery is your priority then fine, you may get an even bigger saving. I suspect many go for factory orders (as I did) as you are getting a discounted car to the exact specification you require. It is unlikely I will ever order another car through a local dealer or part exchange again.

Quite often Drive The Deal will have cars available from dealer stock and are normally found under the Special Deals section on there web site. THe makes/models available under Special Deals will change from week to week. If you use the site to get a quote for a particular make and model then Drive The Deal will email you when Special Offers become available for the cars you've selected quotations for. Alternatively you can just keep an eye on the site to see what sort of Special Deals are available. Special Deal cars will have a predefined spec., i.e. colour, equipment etc and are usually available for immediate delivery.

Ive purchased 2 vehicles from Drive the Deal. The first was already in stock at a Drive the Deal dealer and arrived in a couple of weeks. The second was factory built to my order and took about 10 weeks to arrive. They are a brilliant company to deal with and I would not hesitate to use them again. No pushy sales folk pretending to be your new best mate. They simply quote usually the best discounted rate going and then once agreed, you then deal with the dealer direct.

After purchase of new car via DTD. What is the position regarding servicing/warranty on the car? If the car develops a fault, does it have to go back to supplying dealer to be rectified which may be several miles from where I live? Or can the car for example be serviced by a local dealer?

It is a manufacturers warranty and any main dealer will be able to resolve. Service at your local main dealer. As with all new cars, to maintain warranty you need to service at main dealers. So no difference. Don't worry, it is just like buying a new car from a main dealer, which main dealer you choose to service is your choice. Hope that helps.

However, I would tend to agree with the answer from s80chris as I have bought several Audis over the years which have had warranty work carried out by my local dealer even though the car may not have been purchased through them.

I bought my car via Drive The Deal. After a couple of months it developed a minor fault with the entertainment system which required a firmware update from the manufacturer. I just took it to my local dealer (not the one that I bought it from via DTD, which was the other side of the country) and it was taken care of under warranty. It's just as if you'd bought the car in the "normal" way, they don't even ask. Looking back I have to say that using Drive The Deal was a great choice. It felt a bit strange committing to doing it, but actually there was nothing unusual - they basically just put you in touch with a dealer that's willing to give you a decent discount and from then on it's as if you'd walked into that dealer and negotiated the discount yourself.

Absolutely agree with previous answers. Buying through DtD is just like buying through any other dealer - you can subsequently take the car to any franchised dealership for that brand for either warranty or servicing.

Drive The Deal simply put you in touch with a main dealer who is prepared to sell you a new car at the discount shown on the DtD website, in my car a VW Tiguan. The dealer for me was quite local and I received excellent service and the car was ready for me in eleven weeks instead of the usual twenty two weeks for a new build from Germany. Drive the Deal is the only way to buy a new car. Any VW garage will service my car and undertake any warranty work.

I am about to place the order and I am anxious,Especially when reading the dealer is confidential, it feels like I am paying people money that I don't really who they are! Could anyone please kindly tell me after placing the order, will the dealers provide frequent update about the car? Such as it has been dispatched etc. Also I read that the dealer will road drive the car to customer, what is the mileage normally shown then? I dont want to have a new car with 1,000 miles shown already. Thank you so much for your help in advance.

Hi The dealers are kept confidential (to protect them from other dealers) but not from you. You will be told who the dealer is along with a contact name at the dealership. I was given updates on delivery every 2 to 3 weeks and car came a week before expected date. You have the option of having a free delivery by road but I chose to pick it up myself as dealer was only about 50 miles from where I live. It was just as if I had ordered directly from that dealership. I expect if they drive it to you it will have that distance on the mileage. Hope this helps.

Really don't worry. The dealer is kept confidential until you pay the deposit and then you will be introduced to the dealer and deal with them direct. I understand that this slight secrecy is due to the fact that some dealers have cone under pressure from manufactureres for the discounting, and so like to keep it a little under the radar. You will probably have the option to pick the car up from the dealer if you like. I did and they gave me a tank of petrol as they had saved a man/day delivering to me. The only way it would have a thousand miles on the clock is if you lived a thousand miles from the dealer ! ( rather unlikely ) Hope I've calmed your worries - I can't recommend DTD more highly, I found the whole process easy and saved a considerable sum of money.

The dealer is only confidential up to the point where you hit "Purchase". At this point, Drive the Deal pass your details on to the dealer themselves, and the dealer pays Drive the Deal. The dealer will then get in touch with you directly. The reason they don't tell you who the dealer is (I'd guess), is that if you know who they are, you could just go straight to them and say "I know you're a DtD dealer, give me the same price, and you can keep the DtD commission for yourself". At this point, the dealer treats you as if you'd just walked into their showroom, but with the advantage that you'll have paid substantially less. FWIW, we got a DtD quote (New Focus Estate), went to our local dealer, and asked how close they could get, and we got a figure of £900 more expensive than DtD, which oddly enough, was £900 cheaper than their "absolutely lowest price we can go" that we got when we went into the dealer a week earlier without mentioning DtD. We went from a list price of ~£22k to "cheapest we can do is £18200 with all the offers" to DtD price of £16400, and the dealer then managed to get down to £17300, but no further. We'd certainly use them again.

Purchased through Drive the deal twice since 2011 and about to order 3rd car. Finance (if you want it) easily organised through supplying dealer. If you want to change specifications / extras also easily sorted. If you are uncomfortable with Dealer delivering the car (as I was)and it does keep things simple / avoids any issues you may have on handover; then just collect the car yourself from the dealer. I have done this twice and made it a day out on the train; as the car is being collected from the supplying dealer they may make some allowance for this.(I got a free tank of fuel and FOC VW mats for my wifes new Polo). Hassle to collect, No. Pleasant day out and Dealer collected me from Local train station. Thank you DTD.

I was anxious too, but for the saving offered over any other method I thought the potential loss of the relatively small deposit was worth the risk. Turns out I needn't have worried as the deposit is not cashed until the order is accepted and confirmed by the end dealer. Communication through the process was faultless and the car arrived at the dealership two weeks earlier. The car was exactly as ordered and brand new - I was worried it would be old model etc. I took the decision to collect the car myself, but if you do have the car delivered, depending where you are, you will have some miles on the clock. I recommend DTD to all my friends and one has since bought through them and they too have had a very positive experience.

I have ordered a few cars now from Drive the Deal, and as far as the delivery mileage is concerned it's just a bit of pot luck, depending on were you live and were the car is sourced from, but I recommended a friend to buy a luxury fully loaded car from Drive the deal and did not want the car coming to him with 280mle on clock so he went down to location with wife on train picked up car and drove home, he also saved £14K for his trouble, but I do believe, if you are on a mileage allowance, they take the mileage of your car when it has arrived at your home and not when it leaves the dealership ( if you are worried about losing a few hundred miles on delivery ) I hope this has assisted or Re assured you that there isn't that much to worry about, and you do have options,

Agree with other posts that the confidentiality of the dealer name is purely to protect the interests of Drive the Deal. Basically to stop you approaching the dealer directly. Whether the dealer gives constant updates is dependant on the dealer. Typically you will have to chase them, but bear in mind you will probably be dealing with the fleet management side of a large dealership, so the updates may not be as frequent as provided by your average 'private' car salesman. There is minimal risk regarding the payment. You pay a deposit to Drive the Deal on your credit card. The credit card company would reimburse you if a problem occured with that. The dealers identity will be revealed once the order has been placed. The main balance is paid directly to the dealer. Regarding delivery mileage - personally there is no way I would want some unknown person 'running in' my brand new car for the first 300 or whatever miles. In my case the dealer was based in the south so I made the most of a short break, got the train down, stayed overnight and drove the car back myself. Overall I couldn't fault my experience with Drive the Deal or the dealership. I would definitely use the service again.

Dont worry....no money changes hand until literally the day the car arrives. Shortly after agreeing the deal, the dealer then contacts you direct and then you can check them out. I did and found them to be a very large Ford Dealer, although you are asked not to name them publicily...so I will honour this. The dealer i dealt with then regularly updated me on my factory built car and its progress.

Drive The Deal find you the best deal. Whether the finance is accepted is down to the dealership you end up going through.

I don't see a problem. You are simply buying a car from a dealerships where Drive the deal have found you their best price. If you accept the price you then deal with the dealership after that, i.e the money for the car is transferred and the the car is bought.
