“Streamline.net terrible web host, terrible business”

Wow what a big mistake using this company, I tried canceling over 2 years ago but they just ignored my request and took money of a card I asked to be de-registered with them. This card expired and I moved all my stuff 6 months ago, even domains from them, now Ive just had letter out of the blue (the only letter I may add and no emails), a final demand for £345 or we call the bailiffs in 7 days lol. Bulk hosting and domains not even registered with them anymore lol Anybody out there that are worried about threats like this don't be.

Hi I am having the exact same problem, they have been chasing me for money, but I . What actions are you taking? Are you just ignoring their demands?

I have been replying to their emails and letters for the past month defending myself, but they keep saying it was in the terms and conditions of auto-renewal. The fact I moved all my domains and hosting away from streamline a month before it was up for renewal baffles me, just because I didnt tell them I was cancelling it.

If you have a tshirt, and you want a new one, you dont tell your old tshirt I dont want you any more and Im going to buy a new one. The fact I moved away a month in advance should of been enough.

Stay clear of streamline.net!! I was with them for over 7 years.

“HAD 20+ DOMAINS, TRYING TO TRANSFER AWAY - NIGHTMARE!!!”

FINALLY IN LAST STAGES OF TRANSFERRING AWAY MY DOMAINS AND HAVING A NIGHTMARE ... RENEWING DOMAINS WITHOUT TELLING ETC, CHARGING MY CARD. I HAVE WRITTEN TO THEM INFORMING THEM TO DELETE MY CARD DETAILS BUT THEY HAVEN'T. THE FILIPINO SERVCIE CENTRE IS WORSE THAN USELESS. THEY LIE AND GO BACK ON WHAT THEY SAY, EVEN IF THEY CAN BE BOTHERED TO ANSWER THE PHONE.

“Terrible - Avoid like the plague ”

- Terrible customer service (rude as well) - Slow to respond to tickets - No warning of auto-renew payments - Poor functionality Avoid like the plague Never had any issues with other providers I've used. Google them and see that everyone agrees - they are terrible.

“Support don't really try or care”

The support staff don't read the support tickets and don't really have any answers for help. Have spent days trying to sort a problem out and in the end, gave up and phoned the sales team.

“Awful. 5+ years of bad service...”

During the 5 or so years I've been a customer of Streamline I've witnessed their prices increase exponentially and their level of service diminish greatly. They are genuinely rude and unhelpful, sarcastic and extremely slow at responding to issues. They admitted (after being pushed) that they were responsible for not renewing a domain I owned (although my control panel said it had been renewed) which led in the domain being used within 48 hours by a sales company - who must also be owned by Streamline! Disgusting. They would not apologise for the damage and embarrassment caused to the charity the website belonged to and, intact, tried to slow the procedure of repairing the issue in the attempt to cause me more grief. They consistently make mistakes and invoice for services that I have already cancelled. If you have more than one website or domain they will bill you but won't make clear what they've billed you for. They really are a joke of a company and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I have just cancelled my last domain with the worst hosting company I have ever dealt with that is 8 Domains that has been cancelled I have been with them years. The company I am with which is so much cheaper and reliable you don't give them card details you can pay by Pay Pal so they cannot not help themselves to your money they remind you that payment is due within 30 Days and you pay them as I do though Pay Pal

“Awful rude company”

Avoid this company at all costs. Customer support is based in the Philippines and are very rude, just read off a script! Take ages to answer the phone. I could not log in to my emails as quite often there was a server error. Automatic renewal is very costly and not well advertised.

“Streamline a little too thin...”

I design and develop websites so I'm fairly capable and when something is right or is not right I would know what and usually why. Positive: they offer relatively cheap hosting in scaled packages. One of the key benefits is the "unlimited" bandwidth and by unlimited I mean ridiculously high, the hosts don't even have a usage monitor in their custom domain control panel. Negatives: Sadly thats about all thats great. Their servers PHP thread handler drops, or fails to pick up, page loads sometimes. This has been an ongoing problem for the entire 5 years I was with them, and not just my popular sites, its the ones that get 1-200 hits/day. When someone get random blank pages on your site visits thats unacceptable. Their MySQL databases sometimes can't be accessed during a page load, a forum page load would have random queries would fail to run, yet on a page refresh the page would load fine. 99.9% uptime maybe but not 99.9% reliable. In 2007 severe weather "cut" the cable to their facility, their servers may have been working but no traffic could get to them for 36 hours and there was no way to find out what was going on and no emails got sent explaining the situation. Whenever you have a problem, can't delete FTP'd files, or your seeing others' database tables in your phpmyadmin, or emails aren't being forwarded their customer support team ALWAYS ask you for your login and password. Thats a big no-no in my opinion no-one should have your login details but you. Who knows what that "employee" would do with them, or worse still, your data. Their custom domains control panel is buggy, you can't edit a email forwarders list, you have to delete the list and re-input the whole list. The only way to edit the list in on a 3rd party control panel which isn't documented anywhere (circa 2012). Passwords sometimes confirm as changed when in fact that haven't, even after waiting for 30 minutes for things to "update". You are limited to just 2 support tickets at a time, even for 20+ websites. Even then support was not helpful, often I would write 300-1500 words explaining the problem, they would reply usually 24-72 hours later and that reply would ask for information you already provided clearly. Usually they would ask for login details or offer empty company speak "we are looking in the issue and will apply fixes in the next service patch." Positives: I suppose I should try for another positive or 2, you can choose between Linux and Windows servers, and they have mod_rewrite and IIS respectively for pretty URLs. And PHP has the GD library and cURL libraries install which isn't standard across webhosts. Conclusion: All in all its cheap with "big" bandwidth but they are unreliable hosts, have terrible and questionable customer support, which you need for their buggy interface. Not worth the hassle in my opinion.

“Worst Service Provider in the WHOLE WORLD... AVOID !!”

Do not be fooled by the cheap price, you will end up paying more in the end. These pirates will take up all your time and try to take all your cash. I received an email a few days ago informing me the renewal was due. Today I signed into the site to pay and noticed that I had been charged £24.00 debt administration fee. I raised a support ticket since I did not feel this was fair and the reply given to me was a TOTAL LIE. They informed me that they had sent me several reminder emails, this is absolutely untrue and I'm disgusted that they should send such a blatent lie

“Streamline.net Scam”

Streamline.net have to be one of the worst hosting providers in the world. Unhappy that my hosting was up for 60% of the 2 year contract, I logged over 30 support tickets before trying to leave... My cancellation request took them 11 days to answer and it just so happened that this meant their auto renewal policy kicked in and charged my account £130! I am currently fighting to get this amount back but it's not looking good.

“Total scam artists.”

Never even heard of these people until they sent me a demand for £150 with a 7 day deadline or they will call in the debt collectors and affect my credit rating. They didnt even make it clear what sort of business they were in. Apparently my ex-wife had signed up to them 4 years ago and they had decided to collect their next years takings in advance from ME. According to Streamline, they had been sending previous demands to an email address that I have never even heard of. Their T&Cs are long winded and totally biased in their favour and their phone number connects (after 20 minutes) to a call centre in the Philipines (who are useless). My advice? Stay well clear.

“Unreliable service and unhelpful stagg”

I signed up for Streamline.net as I wanted a UK based host for search engine reasons. I have found that their service frequently goes down - particularly emails - a few times a week I recieve notifications on my computer that their server is down. I have reported these issues to their support department on numerous occassions, however they refuse to help and on one occassion they actually swore at me (I was not being aggressive or rude at the time). I have also found, since using other hosting providers for other sites, that the Streamline systems are altiquated - other hosts use more up-to-date software that is easier to use and faster. I have found many other hosting providers that offer better service and a much lower price. If a friend asked me about Streamline, I would advise them to go anywhere else as they are easily my worst experience regarding hosting providers.

“They are thief (look on google I you don't believe me)”

They have forced me to renew my 2 years contract and they have double their price by the same occasion. It's a big scam, if you look around you will find millions of customers complaining about their renewal techniques. I just paid £227 to be able to cancel my contract with them. I actually haven't paid them, they took the money themselves. Then I receive one of their "tickets" which is the only way you have to communicate with them telling me that the payment has been taken and that my contact has been canceled but its not he case. They took my money and my account with hem still open. Like that they are certainly planning to repeat the operation in two years by the end of the agreement. Don't use them, they are known thief. Look around in Internet before. Once you are with them you will have to fight to have your contact canceled even if you follow their T&C an canceled in time. It's their techniques to make money.

I have had the same experience with them - I offered to appease them by paying for 1 year in advance rather than 2, and they refused. I have used many hosting providers and Streamline are easily the worst I have encountered.

“worst service ever and huge problem when canceling”

I have been with them for over 2 years and I have never used their services. Now I am trying to cancel my account but they won't let me unless I pay for their most expensive package. They said they can't downgrade/cancel my account unless I pay what they want me to. It seems I will have to pay £200 again but I have to immediately cut any ties with them. They tell you to just pay and your deactivated account will be cancelled automatically. Do not trust them. I wish there was 0 stars. Reason why I did not want to use their service is because I have found a lot more up to date services for a lot less.

They have reduced my outstanding balance by 50%
and admin fee stayed on 100%

I have payed it off and closed my account immediately...

I came across Streamline.net when I was starting a business, I never actually used their hosting service but for some reason got signed up to it as well as their 'never be able to opt out we have your credit card details forever' service!! Then 2 years later I received a 7 day letter in the post informing I had an outstanding balance of over £200 and unless I paid it then they would be sending the debt collectors round. I just wish I had seen these reviews earlier. These guys belong in jail.

“Worst Service Ever!”

I used streamline for one of my customers running a CubeCart shopping system. It was extremely slow, it kept going down. I must have been on to support every week to complain about something. Because of this my customer stopped using my service as a web designer. I ended up having to give them 12-months free hosting with another company as compensation. It has cost me dearly! On top of this I've been stung by their auto renewal service. I cancelled the service on day of renewal at 7.53am. They then tell me I didn't give them 7-days notice and now I owe them over £100. they have now issued me with a court warning letter if I do not pay. I keep telling them I cancelled the service on the day of renewal and I haven't used their hosting. They store your credit card details online and try to take the money from your stored card details without authorisation. This company should be investigated. PLEASE PEOPLE STEER CLEAR!!

“Avoid Stremline at all costs! ”

I am thankfully cancelling the last of my sites hosted by the awful Streamline. They give a different reason on each occasion of why it's almost impossible to leave them. This time they have said that if I wish for them not to renew my hosting next year ( when the hosting I have already paid for in advance is up) they will cancel my account now even though I still have a paid up year to go. Although their terms and conditions say that you must cancel "no less than 7 days" from the end of your subscription, they have just told me that I can't ask them not to renew my subscription now as it has to be "around 7 days" before the end. This is presumably so that they can recharge you card if you inadvertently miss the "around 7th day". Too early and they cancel your hosting, too late and they refuse to cancel and charge you again. If you remove you card details from your account they also cancel your hosting. So they effectively have open use of your bank details whenever it suits. I have previously had to complain to my bank about them taking unauthorised payments. My bank agreed and returned the payment. Their customer service stinks and they really are the worst company I have ever dealt with. I am relieved to finally be leaving them altogether...even if this means giving up a year's worth of paid for hosting.

Total agreement-- I have cancelled several sites with streamline closed another one today and by December 2012 the last one with them will also be cancelled . they ask for feedback I told them to Google streamline complaint and read them

“Borderline Illegal”

They automatically charged me £65 for a renewal I did not want. They did not notify me. I asked for a refund, they took 4 days to respond. They refused. Their support eventually said they would refund me in 2014 after the renewal date as I had 'registered my request'. This is ridiculous. I requested a refund within 4 days of the funds being taken from my account, the damage is minimal and I'm even happy to pay pro-rata for those 4 days. I DID NOT WANT THEIR SLOW AND EXPENSIVE SERVERS AND I DID NOT WANT THEIR SLOW CUSTOMER SERVICE. I posted my concerns on their Facebook twice, each time deleting my correspondance. Then they just banned me. Advice for all - avoid Streamline.net. Their, servers, support and customer service are terrible. Quite why a cooling off period, distance selling etc is apparently not valid on a renewal is perhaps a question the Office of Fair Trading should ask them.

I guess you only read reviews once your experience is so bad you feel compelled to write a review, Please Choose an English or Just Native Web hosting Country , Their office is in Philippines and its like talking to a Language Book and they sound about 15 so you can't get angry. They want to charge me 2 X 25 GBP admin charges as my card failed and then told me to write a letter of complaint, I was on the phone complaining.... Its difficult to use and just avoid at all costs!

“Avoid, Avoid, Avoid”

I had websites hosted with Streamline for over 8 years, but their service has continually deteriorated and costs have increased over that time. They now have appalling customer service, they take an absolute age to reply to support tickets, and that's if they bother at all. Then there is the farcical auto renewal system ... all well and fine if you run a website and don't care what it costs. But for the financially astute among us, who watch costs and look for deals, this is a terrible idea. Their cancellation policy involves you send a support ticket (which they don't reply to), which then means they will charge you the renewal costs anyway, then let you fight it out trying to get a refund. In the meantime they may ask you to confirm which account you want to canel (which they also don't reply to) and kindly threaten you will debt collection letters. An absolute shambles of a company. If you have a website that needs hosting, avoid Streamline. There are much better and much cheaper companies to choose from.
