Being one of the most competitive supermarket petrol station groups, Asda petrol prices are often seen as competitive. But are they the cheapest petrol prices in your area? Send us a review and tell us!

I believe my review title says it all. After filling in ASDA’s petrol my car hardly gave me half the millage then normal. One of the crappies petrol ever. Only use them is you don’t have any mercy for your cars.

ItLast Thursday a filled my car with £50 worth of fuel from asda Blantyre, all was good until I'd driven about 5-10 mile then I had a lack of power from my engine, I didn't immediately think it was the fuel, the next day I took it to the garage, the mechanic said it was contaminated fuel and asked "asda or tesco"? I said what do you mean? he said he has had lots of problems with supermarket fuels. He drained my tank and put in a fuel system flush and put in fresh clean fuel and the car is back to normal. I'll never buy supermarket fuel again and I'll tell as many people as I can about my experience to save them the hassle! Cost to me: fuel 50quid garage 75 quid loss of vehicle for a day and loss of shift from work 150 quid the cheep fuel is no longer attractive to me.

Don't stop here often, and wont ever again. Despite being able to easily add a penny a time up to the desired £20 it seems impossible to stop it on the £... 1p a customer scammed anyone ? Also they deducted another £1 as a separate charge without explanation or permission.

Long Eaton Asda have started this extra £1.00 on top of bill for pay at pump. I shall now be going to TESCO

Because the law states that there must be a member of staff available in an emergency. The adjoining shop was closed for the day and no staff were on duty...............

These automated pumps are terrible for anyone who is with natwest as they do not recognize natwest visa debit cards. I dont understand how they havnt done anything to fix this, i do not think its fare how all natwest customers have to use a different petrol station when asda normally have the best price for petrol. Is asda going to do something about this???????

HOW COME PETROL IS 2P CHEAPER HALF AN HOUR DOWN THE A19 FROM BLYTH - ARE WE PAYING FOR THEIR REDUCTION? WE USED TO BE CHEAPER THAN THE MIDLANDS - NOW THEY ARE CHEAPER OR THE SAME. THE QUEUES CAN BE AWFUL AT BLYTH - EVEN IN THE BUSY TIME THERE IS MORE OFTEN THAN NOT ONLY ONE TILL OPEN. DREAD XMAS WHEN THE MANAGER CAUSES CHAOS ON THE ROADS - HE ONLY ALLOWS CARS ONE WAY, SO CARS HAVE TO WAIT TILL SOMEONE PARKS, CAUSING TRAFFIC JAMS FOR OVER A MILE AND BLOCKING TRAFFIC AT EVERY JUNCTION. NOT IMPRESSED WITH ORGANISATION!!!

Warning - Asda fuel: I filled up at Asda in Swindon on Friday and I've noticed that they charged me an extra £1 on top of the fuel charge. Rang up customer services to be told that they would be refunding it in a couple of days with an apology. Reading the internet this seems to happen in Asda quite a lot so if you fill up there check your bank statements. I'll certainly never fill up there again. Have reported the matter to local trading standards authority asking that they investigate.

My wife has stopped using Asda in Long Eaton for this very same reason. Over the space of 2 weeks she topped up with fuel 3 times and was charged an UNAUTHORISED £3 which didn't come back into her account for over a week.
That's one very large unsecured interest free loan Asda are getting from all of us. I wonder how they'd take to us all demanding the interest payments on it?
I'd be interested to hear what trading standards have to say about the unauthorised removal of funds from our accounts by Asda (and it now appears Tesco are doing the same). If anyone else did the same it would be called theft!

Then you're going to laughted at you simpleton it's called a "pre approval" you don't get charged the pound it simply doesn't get collected when there take the actual funds from your account. So instead of trying to be the "big I am" you clearly know nothing. In future keep a note of what you fill up with and then check your statements or online account after a few day......
Written on: 04/05/2015
It was a perfectly valid review . You have the balls to call someone ' simpleton ' when you can't even use the word ' there ' in its correct terms .Who ever heard of the word 'laughted'? Also at the end of your ramblings you've used an ellipses which means your sentence is not yet finished when clearly you've said all you have to say . So instead of trying to be the " Big I am " keep a note on what you're writing . Oh look everyone is "laughted" at you now . Tool !

has anyone else noticed that although petrol prices are slowly coming down, the total cost to fill up your car has increased considerably.

The asda automated card payment petrol stations do not recognise a natwest debit card, just had an absolute farse as i was nearly out of petrol and went to one of these stations, inserted my card and my pin and it told me my card was not authorised.....very confused i tried again and the same thing happened, i rang my bank thinking there was a problem with my card and they confirmed that the asda automated petrol stations dont recognise natwest cards! Thankfully there was another petrol station not far away and i had no problems there, just be aware of this anyone using these faster payment services as they dont always work!!!!!

Filled up my RAV4 with a full tank of diesel. Have now had to have a fuel filter and housing replaced...still hasn't solved problem so whole fuel system has had to be flushed including taking the tank out and flushing! Cost a fortune! Anyone else had problems with Straiton ASDA - the garage think their diesel is at fault!
Written on: 25/03/2013
I use every week Straiton Asda and drive a Citroen van and have just been charged £140 for new fuel filter and treatment. Garage say it is a problem with the diesel I buy. (Asda customer service at head office tele 01138264444 say there is no problem with there diesel, please tell them different)
Written on: 03/11/2021
I have just had a breakdown tonight using Asda in Straiton and know I used the black diesel pump.
I’ve used it often. However my car has broken down tonight a few minutes after leaving (got 3/4 of the way through Damhead and limped to just south of Hillend) having filled of £50 of diesel.
This happened around 6 or 8 months ago and my garage said I must have used the petrol in error. I put it down to that but I know I used the diesel pump tonight.
I have drive for 30 years and this has never happened elsewhere. But twice at the same pump and I’m now very suspicious there is something wrong here and I have been victim of some contamination too.
I’ll call Asda in the morning. I’d like to see CCTV if the have it to confirm I used the black pump. I always do.

I have just escaped having to get a new fuel filter after putting Asda diesel in my car - luckily I only put 20 quid in and have since filled up at Shell. Total loss of power on a dual carriageway with no warning. I will never buy diesel at Asda again.

Thanks....the more that people complain the greater the chance we get listened to ...and hopefully compensated!

Very clever [name removed] are you being paid a bonus for the clever trick of further increasing the differential in price between petrol and diesel. When you raise the prices that increase will stay, further increasing Asda profits, ie 3p off petrol only 2p off diesel. Diesel cars, as you know are the most common vehicle hence the extra cost of diesel, this has being going on far too long and I am disgusted at the further participation of Asda in it. This differential doesn't exist across Europe. I urge motorists to join the Fair Fuel campaign, to fight against the blatent profiteering in this country both in the price of fuel and the excessive tax. I am seething at Asda's move as I regularly fill up at Asda St.Helens and am angered at the signs showing the huge price difference. We also shop regularly at Asda need I say this will not be happening in future. Really help the motorist by equalising petrol and diesel prices then perhaps we will see the caring sharing Asda, that does not exist any more, start to return again.

The same thing happened at 80 mph on the m25 in our jag on 20th aug after using asda fuel station in beddington lane Croydon , it has only been open 2 weeks and the garage have blamed water in the petrol , it was very scary and dangerous , we were lucky and managed to get across 3 lanes to the hard shoulder , I am awaiting a response from asda

i have just found out that asda charge £1.00 for using card payments at the card ony pumps do all the supermarkets do this or is it just asda
Written on: 11/03/2013
Hi, I've found out the same. Nothing shows up on your bank statement it is that discreet. The only way you'll notice is if you check your bank balance prior to using the pump, then immediately afterwards, then and only then you'll see your account has been deducted a £1.
I've approached the manageress at Asda Store Rochdale, having assured her that my bank "Halifax" do not charge, I was met with total denial, and totally dismissed my findings, not even wishing to investigate any further.
Well I'm sorry, I'm not leaving this alone, if every person is charged for using the pump £1 a time, and I use them at least 3 times per month, how much money Nationally are these pumps of their's sucking up?
I would like to hear from others with the same experience and bring these finding to Asda's National Head Office.

My daughter in law fills up regularly at ASDA in Spennymoor. Lately her car has started to become sluggish, then a couple of weeks ago started cutting out at medium to high revs. Then last week it would not go more than a few yards without cutting out. The AA had to tow it to a dealer who immediately asked without any prompting "Do you fill up at ASDA in Spennymoor?" When they were told "Yes". They said they had about half a dozen cars in the last couple of weeks with the same problem. The fuel is so dirty that it eventually clogs the fuel filter and starves the engine of fuel. They gave my son a sample of the fuel from the tank as evidence and it had a lot of dirt/sludge in the bottom. Please avoid ASDA Spennymoor Diesel pumps or this could possibly happen to you!

I am a Taxi Driver and use Asda fuel on a daily basis, I have noticed and been monitoring for a few weeks now that once I have finished fuelling up and completely replaced the nozzle, the amount of £'s to pay seems to jump up by either 1p or 2p. Has anyone noticed or had similar problems ? As this is a little worrying.

Hi, yes, today 18/1/13 and before but thought it was me. If it happens to each person, they would be making a LOT of money. So, they advertise they are cheaper, yet nab it back at the pump behind most peoples backs! After reading this, I am going to report them to the Ombudsman, trading Standards and the Sun newspaper did an article on them re' price war (but all the time they were taking it back!) And Tweet (I'm not on Twitter) as all need to know. I have now informed ASDA themselves. I suggest you do the same.

Thank you for your comment. YES I will be contacting them myself too, after finding out its happened to you too.. I wonder how many customers this is happening to ?
Thanks again

In December 2011 i bought a brand new 1.6 diesel hdi vtr plus auto egs citroen c5. The car would sometimes momentarily cut out when changing gear, the engine was a very rattly when cold. I took it back to the garage but they could not find anything wrong. Originally I had always used asda or tesco diesel. i decided to try texaco diesel. There was a marked improvement, no more rattles, smoother, quieter, more power and the gear change problem has gone away. I have since tried Morrison's Bio diesel and this has also shown an improvement over Asda and Tesco.

As a light haulage driver I use over £1000 of diesel a month, I try to fill up at the cheapest for obvious reasons, generally that's Asda, never had a problem with the fuel which is not surprising as it's the same as everywhere else. Twice in 100 or so fill ups I have had a receipt problem, I just ring the local branch & they post me a VAT receipt, a pain, but it gets sorted. Also if the pumps are not busy you can put your card into another pump within 24 hours & get a copy receipt. I note the people with the fuel problems are putting £10-£20 in at a time, don't!! fill it up every time, you will still only use the same amount & in fact will save as you are not going to fill up so often & use fuel getting to the pumps. That way any s**t in the bottom of the tank tends to stay there. make sure your vehicle is serviced regularly, dirty diesel is not a problem IF the fuel filter is changed regularly.

Just had what I believe to be the same issue happen to me. Guessing it's impossible to claim back any compensation from them!
