Ive noticed a considerable improvement in the number of miles my car will do if i use bp or shell!!

I have recently been using Colchester Hythe Tesco filling station . My 2012 kia eco usually gives a minimum of 49mpg round town and 65plus on long journeys. Recently it has been showing 38 mpg round town & 55 on long trips. I have taken it twice to the dealership who could find no fault. Then after filling it up at a non Tesco station the mpg suddenly returned to normal. Make of this what you will, but I won't be going back to Tesco.

I bought fuel from Tesco and my motorbike kept cutting out when it would start. I took it to a garage and was told there was a problem with the fuel, so i had the fuel drained, refilled from shell and my bike has ran perfect ever since. i have reported this matter to Tesco, they deny all responsibility for the fault with the fuel and were not helpful at all so if you are going to buy fuel say away from Tesco. It may be cheap but I will not be buying it again that's for sure.

Got the habit to let my fuel light lights up then fill up the tank to max, zero the trip counter reading. Fill up on 28 August at Tesco Express Winchmore Hill, I was surprised my car did 70 miles and the indicator already touch first 3/4 bar when I should do 100 miles to reach the Point where it was. Thought I'll do a servicing, but no change. What I've notice in my exhaust is throwing out black condense water instead of clear water. Don't go for the club card, just go for value for money. Total rip off.

Tesco Petrol Stastion,very poor ON!!!

Spending £50 in store to get 5p a litre of fuel sounds good until you see that their base price is 3p a litre than independent garages less than 2 miles away. Tesco claim to compete on price within a 3 mile radius of their fuel stations. This is a barefaced lie!

This is regarding the 5p per litre off voucher that i was given at tescos after spending enough to be given it. to what i thought was my delight, i went to a petrol garage on the Barleymow roundabout and the man inside asked me for my clubcard. i said, "oh, is this a tescos garage?" he said "yes, as of 3 weeks ago" and took my clubcard to swipe through. i thought, great, now i know where i can use the 5p off petrol vouchers that i get from tesco. so i went there when my tank was empty and filled up. went in to pay. the man asked for my clubcard and i gave it to him. then i gave him my voucher. he said, "we do not accept this voucher here". i said " why not?" he said, "because it's a tesco shop not garage". "why ask for my clubcard then" i said. it was completely deceptive and i wanted to warn the public, not to use them. i also think tescos should be clear by using tescos shops that are in petrol garages, only tesco garages!!! i am furious!!!!!! will stop using tescos now because of this absurdity! the address of the garage is 3-5 Esher road,Hersham,Walton on Thames KT12 4JZ Can't get over this! Rip off England again!!!!!!

On questioning a store manager at bewdley hill express in Kidderminster she did not have a clue what she was on about making up answers as if I would believe her only to find out the answer and give it back to her whilst standing in the store itself. Bad bad bad

I was driving to tesco then low fuel light poped up, so went to tesco petrol station first, paid at pump, filled in for 20£, but the light is stil on, and fuel gauge meter is in the same place as it was... It's second time this year but the last one, as im not going to use tesco petrol station ever again.

The staff are usually very helpful but I waited nearly half an hour due to a car that parked in front of the pump, took no petrol then spent ages doing her shopping. I and everyone behind me were trapped for 25 minutes. I have since noticed that others are regularly doing this even though there are parking spaces and a public car park on the other side of the road. The staff seem disinterested in the problem if you complain. Avoid it if you can.

That's a pretty common problem there. It's always a woman (fact) and usually in a 4x4 or MPV (fact). It's totally selfish behaviour - they believe the world revolves around them - and they are supremely arrogant, vulgar and rude if you challenge them.

I VISIT TESCO PETROL STATION AT QUEDGELEY, NORMALLY ONCE PER WEEK, EVERY WEEK TO FILL UP WITH DIESEL, AND HAVE FOUND THE STANDARD OF SERVICE TO BE FAIRLY GOOD. THEY HAVE APPROXIMATELY 5 LANES TO CHOOSE FROM WITH 2 PUMPS IN EACH LANE TO PULL UP AT AND DRAWER FUEL FROM, WITH EACH PUMP OFFERING A SELECTION OF 3 FUELS, SUCH AS DIESEL, UNLEADED PETROL, AND SUPER ADDITIVE PETROL. DRIVERS NORMALLY CHOOSE WHICH LANE TO TAKE, ACCORDING TO WHICH SIDE OF THEIR VEHICLE THE FILLER CAP IS. THE PAY KIOSK HAS TWO CHECK-OUT OPERATORS, AND EVEN ON A BUSY DAY, THEY COPE WELL WITH THE FLOW OF VEHICLES PULLING IN TO FILL UP. THE PUMPS ARE CLEARLY MARKED WITH A NUMBER; AND THE VIEWING WINDOWS OF THE PUMPS ARE CLEAR TO BE SEEN, AND THE PRICE PER LITRE AND TOTAL QUANTITY DRAWN. THEY ARE FAST OPERATING PUMPS, AND YOU CAN FILL YOUR TANK QUITE SPEEDILY. AND YOU CAN BE PULLING INTO THE LANE, FILLING UP FROM THE PUMP, PAYING AT THE CHECK-OUT, AND BE AWAY IN MINUTES. THE CHECK-OUT STAFF HANDLE IT ALL SO WELL, THERE YOU WILL RARELY ENCOUNTER A QUEUE AT THE CHECK-OUTS. THERE IS A LITTLE IN-STORE SECTION WHERE YOU CAN SELECT AND PURCHASE A VARIETY OF SMALL ITEMS, SUCH AS SOFT DRINKS, MILK, CHOCOLATES, CRISPS AND SANWICHES ETC., AND ALSO PURCHASE CIGARETTES, NATIONAL NEWSPAPER AND YOUR WEEKLY LOTTERY UNFORTUNATELY ON THE DOWNSIDE, THE AUTOMATIC CAR WASH IS NOT OPERATIONAL DUE TO CONSTANT FAULTS, AND TESCO HAS NOT STILL ARRANGED ITS REPAIR FOR THE SEVERAL MONTHS IT HAS NOW BEEN OUT OF ORDER (AS AT 2ND JUNE, 2013). SADLY ALSO, GONE ARE THE DAYS WHEN THEY HAD A FREE USE OF AIRLINE AND WATER FOR YOUR TYRES AND WINDSCREEN RESPECTIVELY. THOUGH IT WASN'T CONSTANTLY OPERATIONAL DUE TO RECKLESS USE; MAYBE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN POSITIONED WITHIN SIGHT OF THE STAFF. PRICES OF FUEL FLUCTUATE WITH SUPPLY AND DEMAND OF THE MARKET AND ALSO GOVERNMENT TAX CONTROL, BUT WHATEVER THE PRICE YOU PAY AT THE TESCO PUMP, IT IS QUITE COMPETITIVE AND OFTEN A PENNY PER LITRE LOWER THAN OTHER SURROUNDING PETROL STATIONS IN THE GLOUCESTER AREA. ADDED TO THIS, TESCO CLUBCARD MEMBERS GET THEIR POINTS FOR TOTAL SPENT. THE TESCO EXTRA MAIN SUPERMARKET STORE, IS ADJACENT YO THE PETROL STATION, AND MERELY A STONES THROW AWAY. SO ALL IN ALL, THIS PETROL STATION IS AS GOOD AS YOU WILL GET IN GLOUCESTER. HAPPY MOTORING !

4 Years ago I owned a Renault clio 1.2 that until I filled up at my local Tesco garage had had 0 issues at all. Flew through its services & MOTS fine, started everytime no trouble and was a great run around while at uni. Usually I filled up at the shell garage in town but was running low so quickly popped into the Tesco close by. Within a few miles of leaving the forecourt my engine management light came on and the car just shut down. Engine wouldn't even turn over. After calling out the RAC his actual advice was "looks like bad fuel, you'll need to rev the engine to de-clog it"... Car ran ok after this, with this error occuring several times again while I owned the car and only being resolved by revving the nuts out of my car while stationary. I didn't go to another Tesco garage again until last week when again I was running low and had no option in my new car. 1.8 Vauxhall astra. No issues for about 20 miles and I almost laughed to myself about being silly and being to scared to go into a Tesco forecourt for all those years. Then my engine started Miss firing & the engine management light came on in my car. I couldn't believe it. It could just be a huge co-incidence but I honestly believe there is something wrong with tesco's fuel. 2 cars with the same circumstances with a 5 year gap between the incidents and the same engine trouble?

I have always used Tesco fuel in all 4 of our vehicles, my van suffered water in the diesel in march 2013 and cost me just under £100 to have a new fuel filter fitted and lines blown out at my local garage. I wrote to Tesco customer services and enclosed all the details and had a reply which just fobbed me off by saying that they had not had any other complaints, but there seems there are plenty on here. Also they said they could reassure me that they have procedures in place to stop the wrong fuel or any foreign matter being delivered into our storage tanks. They say there pumps are fitted with filters so any debris will be removed. Also the tanks are fitted with water detection gauges, which sound immediately if they detect any water, there staff check this equipment regularly to make sure it is working. Tesco have refused to compensate me for the damage caused. All can say is that from now on I will not be using Tesco fuel again in any of my vehicles despite there 5p per litre reductions

I have always used Tescos diesel on my Peugeot 207 since I had the vehicle from new. On 28/3/13 the vehicles engine management light came on and I took it to the dealer. Fault was contanminated fuel requiring a new pump and the system drained for the cost of £251.98. Apparantly it is well known among car dealers that supermarket fuel does not contain additives which is why its cheaper. Tescos Customer Services have been contacted but even though I can prove that I have only ever used their diesel the refuse to accept liability.

Consistently he most expensive of every petrol station in Basingstoke (normally by 2p a litre) and consistently more expensive than other towns within a 20 mile drive. If you drive into the forecourt when this petrol station is busy it is impossible to change your mind and exit the place without having to wait for everyone in front of you to fill up, pay and leave first.

My car broke down and was told by Perrys in Milton Keynes it was because of the poor quality of diesel sold at Tescos at wolverton, (Milton Keynes) Thanks Tesco Fuel not cheaper if it knackers your car.I spend £60 a week there, but not anymore.14/03/2013

I regulary used to fill up at Redditch tesco but noticed in was closing earlier, so asked the assistant what time you close they said 22:30 which used to be 24hr then next time I went to fill up at 22:15 closed again. Then found out it had changed to 22:00 then again to 21:30 and to top it off they're more expensive then any other supermarket station. Asda here I come

YES, I AGREE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME AT GLOUCESTER, QUEDGELEY BRANCH FILLING STATION. THEY TEND TO CUT SHORT THE OFFICIAL CLOSING TIME BY THE ODD 10 MINUTES OR SO OCCASIONALLY. THEY DO LIKEWISE WITH THE TOBACCO COUNTER IN THE MAIN STORE, WHEN THEY OFTEN CLOSE AS MUCH AS 20 TO 30 MINUTES EARLIER. I BELIEVE IT IS TO DO WITH CASHING UP WHICH IS STARTED BEFORE THE OFFICIAL CLOSING TIME....AND ALSO FOR SECURITY REASONS, IN AS MUCH AS THEY ARE ISOLATED FROM THE MAIN STORE.

IF THERE'S ONE THING THAT I HATE WHEN PAYING FOR GOODS AT TESCO KIOSKS, ESPECIALLY THE CIGARETTE COUNTER. THEY SELDOM GIVE YOU A RECEIPT UNLESS YOU SPECIFICALLY ASK FOR ONE. YOU SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY BE HANDED ONE WITH EACH TRANSACTION.
THEIR EXCUSE IS THAT THE CUSTOMER WILL INVARIABLY THROW THE RECEIPT AWAY. SO WHAT !? FOR SECURITY REASONS A RECEIPT SHOULD ALWAYS BE HANDED TO THE CUSTOMER, AND WHAT THEY DO WITH THE RECEIPT IS ENTIRELY UPTO THEM, NOT THE CHECK-OUT OPERATOR.

good or maybe not !, to see i'm not alone, 2 days ago filled motorbike up at Tesco hythe, Colchester, within 10 miles engine started misfiring and would not tick over smoothly, being a 750 twin cylinder any fuel/fuel delivery problems quickly become apparent, given this event and historical evidence with Tesco fuels i will avoid them in future as will my family. I have drained tank and replaced with normal unleaded and bike running perfectly again
