“Great local store”

★★★★★

written by 1974Reese on 11/02/2017

Our local co-op is a great shop. Limited in choice because of its size but that's not a bad thing. Fruit always fresh, own bakery, good rolls,. Staff especially good and efficient, hardworking, helpful. never have to q for long. Feels like a community store, good atmosphere. Lots of good offers. Can't think of anything I don't like.

“poor quality ready meals expensive”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Chapmanag351 on 18/01/2017

The ready meals available in the Co-op have become really poor quality, and not good value for money at all - I certainly will not be shopping there anymore

“great quality own brand food - better than M & ”

★★★★★

written by MarquesSpence122 on 25/11/2016

having been a loyal M & customer for years I have decided to try the coop over the last several months because choice is so limited in M & I have to say I will not go back to M & now, our local (Crwys Rd) branch in cardiff is excellent, the food is quality is really good and you get more for your money at the coop, they always have great special offers too, which M & doesnt have I buy the bistro lettuce pack which I previously bought at M & , at M & it was priced at £1.80 or two for £3 for 125g but at the coop the price is £1.25 for 160g (much bigger pack) and recently they had an offer of buy 3 packs for the price of 2!!! also their own brand extra mature cheddar is excellent, and much cheaper than M & and their chicken and ham packs are good quality too, with the excellent weekly special offers, I will not be returning to M & ! well done the coop and keep up the good work and quality and I highly recommend the store at crwys road, cardiff or gloucester road in bristol, the two coops I use,

“THEY STOLE FROM ME”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Dwaynef243 on 29/09/2016

I bought a bottle of wine for £8 and gave a note for £50 expecting £42 as my change. The cashier gave me back a 22 for £20, a note for £5 and a coin for £2 which added up to a total of £27. Clearly he mistook and gave me the note for £5 instead of giving me a second note for £20. Now I understand that it was an honest mistake and it happens. But when I confronted the cashier about it he had the audacity to insist that he gave me the correct change and that the cctv could prove it. I then asked him to show me the cctv. He disappeared to the private office with the manager and after keeping me waiting for over 20 minutes, the manager came out and insisted that he viewed the cctv and it showed that I was given the correct change.I asked him to show me the footage and suddenly he insisted they could only show the footage to the police but not to customers. So now I was just supposed to take his word for it and assume that I was crazy or subconsciously switched the note for £5 for a laugh perhaps. At that point I decided there was no point wasting all that energy over £15 but I have to say I'm appalled by the service. It's one thing to make an honest mistake but to refuse to simply own up to it and rectify it and then have the management back such unprofessionalism is beyond me. Thoroughly unimpressed!

“Rude deliberatley Slow Staff”

★☆☆☆☆

written by DavonFitzsimmons219 on 26/09/2016

For the third time in as many weeks I have been humiliated by the staff in my local Co op they deliberately serve people slowly whilst giving you a sly smirk, I am usually dropping off parcels and today I was standing behind another lady who was being served dropping off her 6 parcels after finishing the cashier deliberately handed the scan gun over to someone else while saying to me quite rudely and without eye contact "You will have to wait he's using it" not once did she make eye contact or smile this particular lady on a previous occasion remarked quite nastily as I approached the counter with my parcels "Oh this is going to slow everything down now Huh" Lady you and every other member of staff in the store do a pretty good job of slowing service down every day, will be looking for another drop off shop from now on have given them the benefit of the doubt for far too long

“cat food”

★★★☆☆

written by Barnettqf1975 on 13/09/2016

why has someone decided to do away with individual co op cat food packets and replace them with multi packs as cat owners know not all cats are the same. mine will only eat tuna in jelly and will not eat felix or whiskas. so now I have to go to Tesco, so while I'm there I do the rest of my shopping. a simple way to lose customers

“OUTSTANDING Shop, great quality ”

★★★★★

written by 25Thomas on 27/08/2016

Always the best place to shop for quality own brand food and branded food. The staff in all the stores are friendly and helpful. They don't just stack shelves and scan your shopping. The shelves rarely have products out of stock and there is always an alternative available. THE BEST SUPERMARKET CHAIN IN THE UK AND THE BEST LOCAL SHOP. The co-op values ethics and treats staff fairly.

“Nothing like co-op used to be years ago!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Lexie117 on 22/07/2016

We was regulars at the Co-op for many years but decided now to stick to our Sainsbury's local, here is why A trip to the shops tonight, Sainsbury's local milk cost 50% less than Co-op. Sainsbury's local had lots of sandwich fillers, Co-op had none! Sainsbury's local had good quality orange juice the same price as Co-op cheap stuff. Sainsbury's local packed out bags without even asking, Co-op don't. Sainsbury's local staff are a lot nicer and helpful than Co-ops staff. Sainsbury's local gives you a bag for life for the same 5p price of co-ops cheap rubbish things Sainsbury's local bread is cheaper Co-op is gone right down hill from the time when they used to have the stamp books, back then it was a pleasure to shop there, now its horrible and expencive.

“In the co op stores at the yew tree in Yardley and at...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by shelly_tialee on 21/06/2016

In the co op stores at the yew tree in Yardley and at the Radleys stechford. I find that all the staff are miserable and have bad manners towards the customers, it's as if they don't want to be there. The first few times I noticed this I dismissed it assuming that the staff must of been having a bad day. But how wrong am I they are like it all the time. I thought good customer service is talking politely to your customers, good eye contact, saying thank you or please. My list can go on, it's really bugged me today when I went into the co op at the yew tree and all I could honestly think about is how miserable all the staff are. Its put me off going into the shop now. I think all staff need training on manners.

“Dismal disinterested staff at Bearwood Poole store”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Notahappyshopperbearwood on 07/06/2016

The staff at the Bearwood co op are not friendly, not interested and talk amongst themselves when serving, I have written to the complaints department an received no reply, their manner makes my husband and myself uneasy and we go elsewhere if possible.

“Multiple Purchases”

★★☆☆☆

written by Tatumw343 on 11/04/2016

I am tired of having to buy multiple items. There are only two of us at home. I have to carry, store, pay for, and sometimes throw out more than I need. If I don't I feel I have been done. This is no more apparent in the milk where 4pts of semi skimmed costs £1.39 and 8pts cost £2 forcing me to lug home two four pinters when I am tired after work. The Coop is my nearest shop and I use it four times a week. I am now going online!

“Rude staff training needed.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Cameron475 on 12/03/2016

I was passing through a little town called Leominster (HEREFORDSHIRE) recently. I decided to stop at the cooperative food store for something to drink. Store looked great as I believe it was in process of reopening after a makeover. However the look of the store is not so important as good staff manors. The staff a young lady Skinny lady late 20s of age blond hair I found on cigarette counter was very rude ignoring me completely staring into space as she served me. I believe coop need to retrain there staff. I won't be visiting this stare again.

“Co-op Food Stratford-Upon-Avon”

★☆☆☆☆

written by vtHood174 on 04/03/2016

I would like to make a formal complaint about the store I always use to shop with, It is the Co-op Food on Wordsworth Avenue in Stratford-upon-Avon, I visited on Friday 26th February around 8pm when I witness one of the management team being rude and degrading to one of her staff, the woman in question had long brown hair and chubby. there was no need for her attitude, especially on the shop floor in front of customers. I felt that was unnecessary, horrible and bad service. but I decided to give the store another chance so I came in Thursday 3th March in the afternoon around 4:30pm after doing the school run for a few bits, as I got to the checkouts there was a queue with two woman on the tills serving, the queue was getting longer and longer, they shouted for assistants on the tannoy twice but no one arrived. so after giving this stop another chance it blew it, the staff don't care at all!! customers service is a absolute joke!! I will not be coming back to this store ever again. and I will be spreading this experience around to let others know to void this place at all cost. Co-op is a complete Joke.

“Bad service and expensive”

★☆☆☆☆

written by LilianaFaulkner317 on 17/09/2015

Went into the Coldstream shop, I only ever shop here for little items like bread milk etc but went in especially for ibuprofen and paracetamol and other items. Went to the till was asked if I wanted a bag, I said yes so she gave me 1 bag for quite a few items. So I shoved what I could in my handbag and had to carry my bread and milk under my arms, she did not even offer another bag. She wouldn't serve me with more than one box of ibuprofen or paracetamol. I've never heard of this before and I'm a dispenser at a pharmacy and u can sell up to 4 packets of each the value pack of 16. Needed them as my partner had pulled a muscle in his back. So I'm guessing this refused sale is for supermarkets only? Just not helpful after a long day at work my patience had gone by this point.
