“Now they charge you twice to do online shopping”

★★☆☆☆

written by meyerm on 30/11/2016

I cannot believe Morrisons have started doing what Iceland does, they charge you twice for online shopping (they reserve one payment and take another) then they send the reserved payment back to your bank account. So they left me overdrawn and the woman I spoke to in customer services did not care. She just kept repeating the same information over and over again. I am disgusted with these supermarkets. My local store is ok, could be cleaner and the layout could be better. Some staff are friendly and others act like they wish you never stepped into their store. The fresh meat and chicken fridge is often empty in the mornings. They take their time to get round and restock the shelves.

“Delivery cancellation ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by NylaSchwartz on 22/11/2016

OMG! Morrison decided to cancel my online order without talking to me first on the day of delivery. They put me in a terrible situation because the shopping is for a dinner party on that day. However, they did inform me by email @ 01:30 in the morning by email and by the time I had a chance to contact them first thing in the morning only to be told they don't do same day delivery and there's nothing they can do. I'm so upset and stressed so I won't be shopping with Morrison online anymore.

“Morrisons Standards in Decline”

★☆☆☆☆

written by KHampshire on 01/11/2016

For quite a while we choose to buy our fruit elsewhere because the quality at the shelves is so tasteless. However it was still convenient for branded products. I went shopping at Morrisons Glevum Way Abbeydale Gloucester on Friday 28th October at 6pm which is what I do every week. However, this week I was very disappointed to find very little stock on the shelves. There was only one large punnet of tomatoes (the rest of the shelf was empty), there were no fresh lemons at all (a completely empty shelf), there was no Innocent Smoothie juice, there was no Ambrosia custard, there were no Persil Bio washing capsules and there was no extra crunchy coleslaw with cheese - all things that I usually buy and needed that night. It was very frustrating and not what I would expect from Morrisons. When we went to the till (bearing in mind that this was prime time at the end of the month), there were only four tills operating and the customers were queuing a few trolleys deep blocking the way for other customers to get passed.

“Everything about them annoys me”

★☆☆☆☆

written by thGentry321 on 28/10/2016

They distribute unwanted junkmail flyers through the doors in the surrounding area. I had another one today. They spray the fruit with shellac from beetles and don't advertise this. Three independent local shops have closed since Morrisons came here. There are always Morrisons trolleys dumped in the river, worse since Morrisons stopped requiring a deposit. They encourage unnecessary car use - there's not even a safe pedestrian route to the local store. Lots of litter on the paths around Morrisons. My mother works there part time, and they've often told her and other staff that they can't take all their annual leave because there aren't enough staff... I was taking a photo of an item to text so a friend who has mobility problems could make a choice - security pulled me up and gave me grief for taking a photo in the store. All the fruit and veg is over-packaged, and usually from across the world with ridiculous air-miles.

“Awful Customer Service.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Brysonk205 on 21/10/2016

I visited Our local Morrison's today. I only now go in for odd items. and my visit left me angry and vowing to go that extra distance to another supermarket. This is why:- 1) I asked a young lady where the "reduced" shelves were situated. She huffed and puffed and glowered at me. Then went off at a fast pace (I am partially disabled and couldn't keep up with her) She stopped and I caught up and she curtly told me "I don't know where it is they have moved everything! That was the reason I needed to ask for help. The store has just undergone complete refurbishment and I can't find anything either! If the staff don't know or are unwilling to find out for you then heaven help the shopper! 2) The store didn't have what I wanted ( Cook your own Poppadoms flavoured with pepper and those flavoured with Jeera usually found on the Asian shelves in the World food aisle.and some things like Atora suet and the sacks of Potatoes had had a price hike in the last week. 3) At the checkout the cashier held a conversation with the person behind me (Obviously a friend) and as she thrust the receipt at me without a smile or any form of acknowledgement I felt like screaming "Am I invisible? Do you want customers or are we just a hinderance?" Sorry but it will take me some time to ever go there again.

“Empty shelves”

★☆☆☆☆

Empty shelves at the Rothwell, Leeds 26 branch - no garlic bread, no tunnocks wafers, no dates, no frozen blueberries, no frozen strawberries - and the list goes on!

“Gone from bad to worse in Anlaby store (Hull)”

★★☆☆☆

written by Lizat4 on 08/10/2016

Very disappointed with my shopping experience in general at this store. It has recently been completely changed round, nothing where it was before, the shop has been in chaos and shopping taking four times longer. I understand that a change around can be a good thing now and again, but this has been something else. Even the staff don't seem to know where stuff is. Added to that, twice this week alone I have been blatantly ignored by staff at counters where you need serving, once when the assistant pretended she hadn't seen me and once when three of them were busy chatting among themselves about something that was obviously far more interesting than serving a customer. There are more self service tills than manned ones so the queues are longer. There is plenty of new competition arriving in the area so Morrison's need to pull their socks up if they are to survive. I for one am now going elsewhere.

written by Isla1953 on 01/10/2016

I have shattered my arm and rather than attempt a shop with three kids, two days after my operation and being in cast from right hand to shoulder I decided to use the home delivery option. It was not delivered at the appropriate time and on calling the call cntre I was asked to send passport ID which I did, they then said they had not recived e-mail. I sent it AGAIN and they still cant confirm it will be delivered!!! I'm disgusted

“Absolutely bloody disgusted!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by bloodyfurious on 01/07/2016

Twice recently I have been insulted by Morrisons staff, Inverness. On both occasions I have had less than 10 items, (the last occasion, 6 items exactly). Supervisor gives orders for someone to open up another till (another problem - never have enough tills open to accommodate customers), and on both occasions the assistant has taken someone with a FULL trolley before myself. It would be quite clear as I was standing with the items in my arms and it appeared obvious to a few other customers also that it would have been a lot easier, and quicker all round had I been allowed to go first. I had also been standing in a queue for more than 5 minutes - longer than the lady with the full trolley they allowed to go first. She had NOT been standing in any queue - as there were only 4 tills open, and she had just appeared from one of the isles! NEVER AGAIN WILL I SHOP IN THIS STORE!

“MORRISONS CHEATING THEIR CUSTOMERS”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 25/06/2016

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS DURING THE LAST MONTH I HAVE PURCHASED AN ITEM AT THE GRANTHAM MORRISONS STORE AND FOUND THAT THE PRICE MARKED ON THE SHELF WAS LOWER THAN CHARGED AT THE CHECKOUT. THIS AMOUNTS TO OBTAINING MONEY BY DECEPTION AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. IT CANT ALWAYS BE 'HUMAN ERROR'. THAT WAS THE REASON GIVEN BY THE INDIFFERENT STORE MANAGER WHO AT THE TIME OF MY COMPLAINT GAVE THE IMPRESSION HE COULDNT CARE A LESS. IF IT WAS 'HUMAN ERROR' WHY DOES IT HAPPEN SO OFTEN??? I WILL BE CONTACTING TRADING STANDARDS SINCE THIS IS ALSO MISS REPRESENTATION. NOT EVERYONE CHECKS THEIR RECEIPTS AND OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME WITH THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS THIS AMOUNTS TO A CONSIDERABLE SUM OF MONEY MORRISONS IS CHEATING THEIR CUSTOMERS OUT OF. I WILL NEVER GO INTO A MORRISONS STORE AGAIN AND THAT APPLIES TO ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO ALL AGREE THIS IS DISGRACEFUL. CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS. MORRISONS IS CHEATING YOU!!!

“What a difference!”

★★★★★

written by on 16/06/2016

I recently went into my daughters store in Cambuslang,Glasgow and I have noticed a big difference since the last time I was shopping there. I am not the tallest person and have noticed I can actually reach the products on the top shelf as they are not stacked so high anymore, the layout of the fruit and veg area looks much better and the food looks a better quality than previous visits. The staff are very helpful and are always willing to help me find a product! Great store

“POM juice”

★★★★★

written by Richard-p on 11/03/2016

Went to the Fiveways store to look for Pom Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice and was surprised that they have it, as no other store seems to stock it. (or maybe it's just me!) I like the stores in general and i think they are good value and well stocked, although this particular store used to run out of meat quickly (not the case now). Very happy overall

My wife and I have been shopping at Morrissons (Cleethorpes) since it first opened. The Quality and service are next to none. We have been coming to the cafe every Friday for dinner. I just love the Fish and chips, they (to me) are the best in town.

“Where Common Politeness and professional courtesy is...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Nancylove on 21/01/2016

Leeds City Centre Morrisons (Merrion centre mall) Where Common Politeness and professional courtesy is MISSING! Witnessed the appalling display of group rudeness against a polite customer just wanting to pay for his goods at the Merrion Centre mall Morrisons which absolutely appalled us. Enter an employee who has the reputation to be very bitter and rude when innocently men say "thank you love!". This time this employee at the self checkout called the customer "...Love!" then went directly to the team manager etc when this man innocently said "are you supposed to call me that?" half jokingly. This polite customer had a manager stand by him as other female employees pointed looking at him with this rude employee with history! Then he was informed that they should "keep away from each other" what a way to treat Morrisons customers it isn't surprising that we Morrisons customers are leaving and going elsewhere to better, politer, far more respectful stores than endure this insult. But this mature polite man just politely showed nothing but friendly banter / chat now that's a gentleman! As a women I am appalled at this continual demeaning of those that show politeness and innocent courtesy by saying, "Thanks Love!" after all we are in Yorkshire and I call people Love and don't mind if they call me love because I am comfortable in my own skin to know what real respect is ! That which is missing dreadfully in this Morrisons store, We'll be leaving and going elsewhere from now on Morrisons!!!

“Price of food”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 16/01/2016

I was shopping on the meat counter in Morrison's today .And I was shocked to see the price of a couple of pigs trotters. £3.78 its rediculous .all the meats gone up. In fact all the food had gone up in price. Its not gone up a bit its gone up a lot.pigs feet are not worth anywhere near that money. Anyone who buys them must be stupid. Take notice everyone. I went to a butchers for some and they only charged me a pound for 2 .

Its a captive market! If you dont have many other stations in a 3 mile radius then you can expect to be stung. The price will be determined at head office, likewise for the other supermarkets. There is no difference in quality, so it pays to shop around!
