“My review definitely fits with the 'love it' camp. I...”

★★★★★

written by dmccarty on 10/09/2008

My review definitely fits with the 'love it' camp. I have used this product several times and always had excellent results. I did read the directions carefully, follow them to the letter, and recruit my husband to help with getting the mixture on my hair quickly and without getting it into my part/scalp areas. I have thick fairly coarse hair and it does seem clear from reading the reviews that the product seems to work best for this hardier hair type. My hair is colored and highlighted and the product does nothing to harm my color; in fact, my highlights look better when my hair smoother. One final thought is that this product seems to do a good job of smoothing wiry gray hairs with minds of their own, a problem those of us in the 50+ camp have!

“I have fine to medium fine hair, it is colored so best...”

written by on 03/09/2008

I have fine to medium fine hair, it is colored so best idea is to do a strand test which turned out A OK so I proceeded. I followed everything exactly and even erred on the side of caution leaving the product in for 2 minutes. Rinsed for 10 minutes and continued with step 2, the neutralizer. (purple stuff) I feel it didn't work at all. I kept rinsing and washing my hair and still it was gummy feeling. I came to the realization at 8 PM on a Sunday night that there was nothing I could do. My hair was ruined. Nothing was open all I could do was wait and hope that I had hair left in the morning. I went to the salon first thing Monday AM and the poor hairdresser was more freaked out that I was. She washed my hair 4 times with neutralizing shampoo to get all that creme out and then came the scissors. Now ladies, you all know it's going to be bad when your hairdresser keeps whispering to you, 'Don't worry, you have such a pretty face', throughout the entire cut. I now have a very, very short kinda funky cut that takes me all of 30 seconds to fix. I don't even need to comb it and there is nothing to blow dry really. What hair I have left appears totally dry and brittle.

written by on 28/08/2008

If this product would have stated that my hair would be manageable and not always do the results then out to be straight, then I would have taken my chances anyway expecting the curl to still be there. But instead, the instructions tell me my hair will be flatter and I would have to get use to seeing myself with straight hair so as to feel more natural visualizing myself.

I used this product 3 years ago and sadly my hair has never been the same. It never even worked for me. After I used it, it didn't even straighten my hair and it ruined by curls. I used to get compliments on how beautiful my hair was before using this system, now I haven't gotten a compliment in 3 years. I should of just been happy with what I had.

I had wavy hair that was soft but now it looks exactly the same but its totally dried out now. I think it's a waste of time while you have to smell disguisting chemicals. I do NOT recommend it. And now since its so dry I cant straighten it to go anywhere for 2 days!

“I think the EasyStraight Hair Straightening System is...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 24/07/2008

I think the EasyStraight Hair Straightening System is horrible! I had really curly hair that was partially frizzy. My hair became dry and extremely frizzy. It kind of straightened my hair, but it seemed to burn my hair and the effects didn't wear off. I've had the product for two years and my hair is still paying from the apparent effects of this product.

“I used the EasyStraight Hair Straightening System 3...”

★★★★★

written by on 03/07/2008

I used the EasyStraight Hair Straightening System 3 month straightener on my hair about 6 weeks ago and I am very happy with the results. I color my hair so I chose this product because it said it could be used on colored hair. They were right. It came out great. My hair had been colored a few weeks prior to the straightening and I colored it again a few weeks after the straightening. Even with all that, my hair is strong, healthy, shiny and straight. It still has body and bounceyness. I am very happy with it. My only problem is that now I don't seem to be able to find Easystraight anymore. The store where I bought it doesn't have it anymore and I have not found it in any other stores. My hair is still nice and straight right now, but at some point I will need to straighten it again and I hope I can find this same product.

written by on 25/05/2008

I found that the EasyStraight Hair Straightening System didn't straighten my hair at all. it left my hair more frizzy than it was before I started. I don't recommend this product unless you have partially straight hair to begin with.

Made my curly frizzy hair totally smooth, shiny, glossy, and straight as a board. Only took me two hours. I recommend it to all my friends! Can be bought at your local electrical retailer. Its cheap and explains itself perfectly.

“I did not have a bad experience with this product. I...”

★★★★☆

written by on 06/03/2008

I did not have a bad experience with this product. I have double processed hair that has been extremely bleached and mistreated. Not a single hair broke off after I used the easy straight product. I really think people do not understand what a chemical process can do to you hair and are not being careful when using this product. One girl stated she left it on her hair and went to watch TV?!! There is no time for that! The directions clearly state not to leave it on for more than 5 minutes and to actually rinse it IMMEDIATELY if you have very fine hair that has been color or highlighted. I think people are having bad outcomes because they are leaving it on too long. Another girl also stated that there is no warning about using this product on previously relaxed hair. My instructions had a very clear warning about this. I put on the step 2 cream, and as soon as my hair was covered I immediately washed my hair as the instructions stated. I did not even leave it on for a minute. My hair looks straight and soft. Of course there are dead ends, I have not had a hair cut in months. My dead and fried ends were there before using the easy straight product. I was not expecting a miracle. You have to be realistic when using a chemical product.

“My hair is to the middle of my back and not too thick....”

★★☆☆☆

written by flognmly07 on 22/02/2008

My hair is to the middle of my back and not too thick. It's not really curly, but more of a wavy-curly that can look like I've had a perm when I scrunch it with gel.
I used the Easy-straight yesterday. I read the instructions twice and watched the instructional video on their website. I thought the directions were easy enough to understand. Getting the oil in my hair was easy, except I didn't have enough because I needed to keep .5 oz for the straightening cream. I was worried about it damaging my hair, but so far it's okay.
I was supposed to keep the straightening cream in for 5 minutes. This was the hard part. I recommend having someone help you get all of the cream in your hair because it took me 8 minutes to get it in, so I had to wash it out immediately. Plus, it smelled so strongly that I had to put a towel over my mouth and nose.
Then when I used the sealant, the extra that dripped onto my foot discolored my foot. I'd wash off any sealant immediately if it drips on you.
When my hair was wet it looked like it was going to work. My hair was straight except for the ends which were curling out a little bit, but as my hair dried, it just got curly again.

My hair usually takes products very easily, so I'm not sure how well this product actually works. I will say that my hair isn't fried or damage, which is good. But I don't see myself trying this product again.

I rated 0 for durability, style, and service because it didn't work and when I called for support, they didn't give me any useful information.

“I bought the EasyStraight system on a whim at...”

★★★★★

written by ekanderson on 12/01/2008

I bought the EasyStraight system on a whim at Walgreens. Then, I got home and checked out the reviews. I was scared by what I read, until I noticed that either people loved it or they hated it; there was no in-between. I figured that was because either people didn't follow the directions carefully enough, or their hair just wasn't what the product was intended for.

I read the directions three times and watched the video on the EasyStraight website. The process isn't very long, nor is it difficult. The one piece of advice I'll give is to open the window, if your bathroom has one. The straightening cream smells like perm solution and it's awful.

I just used the product tonight, so I don't have long term success with it... yet. But my results are outstanding and I'm thrilled. I do notice that my hair looks a little funny, though that's no fault of the product. My haircut is very layered because that's what looks good with my previously wavy hair. I need a new hairstyle to accentuate my shiny, straight hair!

I have thick, coarse hair and if there is any dampness in the air at all I know I will have to wear it back or up in a clip. I used the product a month ago and after visiting my hairdresser yesterday she commented on how easy it was to work with. I really think this product is the reason why it is so manageable. I would definitely use the product again. I am wondering if it is available in Canada.

I have a lot of extremely curly, frizzy, poofy poodle like hair.I have used other straighteners that are done the same way. This is the only product that did not fry my hair nor leave it so straight it would not do anything.i now have tame healthy easy to style hair that stays straight even in high humidity.
Once again follow directions and you will love the results...

“I am a Caucasian Australian with red/blonde hair...”

☆☆☆☆☆

written by missjane111 on 27/10/2007

I am a Caucasian Australian with red/blonde hair (thanks to my Irish ancestry).

I have masses and masses of hair, which is fine but incredibly frizzy - every hair bending and corkscrewing in 20 different directions. As a consequence, it tends to grow OUT in a huge fuzzy afro rather than down like most Caucasian hair. It drives me insane.

I have to have it cut and thinned out every 5 weeks, and it takes ages to style every morning (not to mention the truckloads of product). After reading the previous reviews, I regarded my pack of 3 month Easystraight with even more trepidation than previously, but decided to conduct a couple of strand tests first. The first one I left on for 3 minutes - absolutely no difference whatsoever. The next strand, 5 minutes - still no difference. I finally tried 10 minutes, which seemed to straighten the strand a little bit, so I ploughed ahead with the whole thing.

What a palaver, all that rinsing and shampooing, I nearly ran the hot water cylinder dry. Anyway, the final result: hair when still wet is maybe 10% less curly, but when dry, absolutely would not know I'd done a damn thing. Sigh. Am only glad my hair is as tough as old boots and nothing ever seems to damage it. So its back to washing and styling it every morning with the hot styling brush. Labour intensive, but at least it works, up to a point. I give up.

When I used the EasyStraight Hair Straightening System, a large percentage of my hair fell out. The rest was fried! I can't believe this product is still on the market. The results we so horrific that a class action suit has been in the works for the past 2 years. I'm not making this up. Do some searches on the net and beware of this product!

“I went shopping and this EasyStraight Hair...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by tracyx0 on 29/08/2007

I went shopping and this EasyStraight Hair Straightening System caught my eye. My hair isn't really curly, but wavy, frizzy and unmanageable. I thought I would buy the product to help me cut time straightening my hair. The box first of all said nothing about not using it if you straighten your hair every day. The product SMELLED SO BAD. I had to put a towel over my mouth and nose, as I couldn't breath, it was so strong. Also, make sure, if you get ANY on your skin, rinse it odd ASAP. I would never recommend this to anyone. I died my hair about two months ago and it stripped the color right out!!! So instead of my brunette hair, now I have three different colors... I start school tomorrow, and now that I think about it, I wish I never did this to my hair. When I was in the shower little pieces of my ends were falling out, and when I got out, it wasn't easy to comb my hair without having to pull a little, which you can't. I put the leave-in conditioner in my hair and blow dried it. I swear my hair feels like horse hair and DISGUSTING. It looks so unhealthy, and I can't do anything about it. The ends are so fried now, and my hair isn't even straight!! It's poofy and not flat or anything. It looks like I'm wearing a wig. It doesn't look natural at all!

Stick to your hairdresser!!

“I have used Ogilve to straighten my hair every month...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by balsiesmom on 27/06/2007

I have used Ogilve to straighten my hair every month for the last 5 years. I should have stayed with Ogilve. This month I decided to try the EasyStraight Hair Straightening System because it claimed to be "salon quality", and I thought perhaps the effects would last longer than a month. I followed the directions to the letter, and left it on for only 7 minutes (it was supposed to be 10). Now I have some straight and very flat hair, some uncontrollably curly hair and some hair that was fried off at the scalp. The biggest "bald spot" I have is a little bigger than a quarter, and I wear my hair short, so it is very noticeable. The hair that actually managed to be straight is so damaged, I'll have to get it cut off. Maybe I should just buzz it all off and Haime Munoz can buy me a wig!

“Using the Easy Straight Hair Straightening System was...”

written by 123marie on 23/06/2007

Using the Easy Straight Hair Straightening System was the worst decision I have ever made for my hair! After using it, my hair was just as curly as ever. I could have lived with it not relaxing the curl if that was the worst of it, but this stuff absolutely fried my hair. Before using Easy Straight my hair was healthy and shiny. After using Easy Straight, my natural hair color is several shades lighter on the ends (my hair has never been dyed). The ends are split and fuzzy. Even after using the hair products and a flat iron, I can't get my hair smooth.

I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

“I only used the one week EasyStraight Hair...”

★★★☆☆

written by woodjs on 19/06/2007

I only used the one week EasyStraight Hair Straightening product, and it kind of worked. I have fizzy, thick, puffy half wavy, half curly hair. I had cute wavy hair for three days or so.

I really want to try the 90 day one, but I am hesitant because of the reviews. What are people doing so significantly differently that some have beautiful straight hair, and others are losing their hair by the handful?

If anyone has a thought, I would love their advice!
