A great cruising bike - it looks amazing, is a big bike plus it's like riding an armchair - great for commuting, cruising and just turning peoples heads - a 100% amazing bike!

I have owned my Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder for 2 years. I bought it for £1600 with 16000 on the clock and its just done 28000. Yes that's right, TWENTY EIGHT THOUSAND miles, still same clutch, same engin. The only thing I had to replace was one sprocket, 3 chains and a throttle cable. It looks great, sounds great (once the rear baffle is removed). It just keeps going and going. I have tried to break it and I can't. She is the first geared bike I have ever ridden. I full rev it and I can get 75 out of her down hill and about 60 up and she just keeps going.

Bought a Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder in 2004 for commuter, at first it was fine as I was running it in, but after I got used to it I found it extremely slow both pulling off and top end. After 4 months it started to get a bit clunky in the gears and I would get a lot of false neutrals. I found it imposible to get a dealership to strip the gearbox under warranty as it had not failed an the clunky box is how they put it a characteristic of that bike or just a noise that will disappear in time (let me guess that time is just after the waranty expires). So I kept riding and it kept clunking, when the winter came so did the rust so I cleaned it off with aAutosol and it came back and soon the bike was plastered. Sundays I spent cleaning the bike, not that I loved it but it cost almost £2600 and I wanted to get as much back as I could at the end of Summer.
At the end of Summer I eventuly sold it for £1500.
With that money I bought a new Jinlun JL125-11 which I have had over a year and it's fantastic.
Maybe I just had a bad one but that bike almost made my wife make me give up biking.

I disagree with this review because I have had my gz125 for 2 years and I have used it daily, leaving it outside work each day, obviously it got rained on regularly. I recently polished it up with a bit of chrome polish and T-Cut and it looks almost new.
And to say that you replaced it with a jinlun? I park my bike next to one in town quite often. My bike is 4 years older and has nowhere near as much rust. Yeah the jinlun is a bit faster being a twin, but it it's a cheaply made bike compared to the Suzuki GZ.

Just had this Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder from new 1 month and now done 600 miles. Great head turner (even had a rider on a Suzuki 1200 Bandit compliment it on it's good looks, so can't be all that bad). Would certainly recommend this bike to learners, noting that it really is better used for urban drives (tends to hold up traffic on the open roads.......)

Buy a Suzuki GZ125 Marauder they are so easy to handle with great reliability and comfort. Just the sort of bike you need when you're learning. Comfortable, just like riding an armchair. I've never had a problem starting my baby, 1st time, every time. Very reliable and when polished my God what a feeling, I'm very proud of her.

Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder - i bought new marauder from Darby, it was nice and smooth ride, however i found that cluch wire gets stuck under speedometer clock reset. When i moved to london; gears on bike getting stuck and none of the Suzuki dealers were helpful even though bike was only 1month old. Spoke to Suzuki to complain and they were not keen to help either. I won't recommend Suzuki again for customer service point.

Zoom, off you go, lovely little looker and if you could fall off it you would be an idiot.
i had the Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder for two months, done over 800 miles on £40 of unleaded. Really cheap to insure and tax.
Bring on the good weather.

I bought the Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder 1 week ago with very little experiance of driving bikes, but it is so easy to handle I picked it up quite quickly and am now driving it to work every day. Great fun and the best looking 125 I've seen in my area.

I loved the Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder when I first got it but the chrome rusts very quickly in this weather. Now it's broken in it can reach 70 on a slope and 65 on a flat. I must say though, now I have had it a little while I have had nothing but disappointments from it. The chain constantly needs tightening and oiling. If you are like me and long for a little bit of power you will ride this bike to the max and it can start guzzling petrol. Gear changes don't always feel nice and at the moment mine is waiting to get fixed because the chain came right off! I'm glad I was going slowly at the time because my back wheel locked and could have seriously injured me. If you are looking for a low maintainence bike this is not for you!!!

I bought the Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder as my first bike for learning on, as the low seat is great since I'm only 5'2". It is a comfortable bike to ride, nice and smooth. After my first outing on it I was desperate for something bigger so I could keep up with the rest of the traffic! But then I can't expect much from a 125. Great around town though.

This Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder is great for a beginner. It looks lovely handles great and is overall the best 125 cruiser out there. I drove most of the 125 cruisers until I decided to get one and the marauder was by far the best out of the lot.

Do NOT buy one of these Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder bikes (Suzuki 1600 Marauder or Boulevard M95, or Kawasaki Mean Streak - they are all the same mechanically), unless you ride one first. I bought a new 2004 1600 Marauder in April 2005 and the engine "knocking" has been getting steadily louder. In addition, the driveline has excessive "play" in it (i.e. feels like a chain-driven bike with about 4" of loose chain). I've discussed the defects with the dealer (Liberty Cycle in Liberty, MO) on three separate visits and, after riding the bike, they are telling me that these engineering "defects" are normal for this bike. While I'm not an engineer, I have a hard time believing that any motor that emits sounds like it's being repeatedly hit with a hammer has a trouble-free life in store. Needless to say, I'm going to take a financial beating and trade this thing in for a Honda VTX as soon as possible. Good luck.

I love this Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder. I have had it nearly 3 years now. Im getting a XV250 soon but I honestly dont want to get rid of this bike. I have driven all kinds of cruisers and this is by far my favourite.

Not a bad little bike for beginners but if your looking for something exciting then look somewere else. This Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder desperately needs a kickstart and some extra performance. The lack of throttle response is dreadfull mine will only achieve 55mph on the flat with a wind behind me steep hills just kill it dead. It looks nice enough and handles well enough but I find a 30 mile trip leaves my butt numb. Oh and the exhaust does melt your boots if your not carefull. Mine does seem reliable enough and its easy to bump start if you have to.

The Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder is comfortable and a joy to ride, it corners well at speed and is very difficult to fall off it! Would advise a new and young rider in its direction. easy to get bored of though!

I have one of the poorest Suzukis to ever be made, it's so pants that i'm going to sell it. The Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder was really good on the test ride so I parted with my dosh and picked it up a week later. I now have had the bike for three months and as I have got used to riding it I wanted to see what it would do. "wrong move" there is no throttle response at all, when you need it the handling is just, well, I cant say on the net. Going up hills it dies, I even had to drop it to 2nd gear to get up a small incline that a milk float wouldn't have any problems on. Dont get me wrong it's nice to look at and dead easy to use - just lacks in every thing else. Over all a poor try from suzuki, and the bike is perfect for any one over 50 years old.

Overall this Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder 125 bike is a very good buy and I would recomend it to anybody who starts riding at a young age.

The reason it rusted was because you didn't keep it clean or dry. It's simple: Chrome + Water = Rust. Also you were overcharged. I have just purchased a 2007 Suzuki GZ125 for £2000 brand new.
The most suspect thing is that you say you brought a JinLun (which I considered) 125-11. And say it's better?! My experience of Chinese bikes is a bad one, and this review is will only make people buy a cheap Chinese bike instead of a well made, extremely good 125 cruiser.
