“Staff with attitude! ”

This is about the Bletchley store - asked for the price of an item. The staff member was very rude! Behaved as though he was doing me a favour. One would have thought I was there asking for a handout and not to spend my own money! What made it worse was that this was supposed to be the supervisor or manager. It's disgraceful and poundstretcher ought to train their staff better. He behaved like I was inferior to him and me being a black woman made it more upsetting. Will certainly not recommend them

It happened to me this morning in Feltham, the lady behind the till shouted simply because i asked for a plastic bag for my shopping,she turned mad, i will never ever go there again

“USELESS UNHELPFUL”

AFTER PURCHASING TWO CANVAS WARDROBES WHICH WERE USELESS I REPORT THIS TO CUSTOMER CARE AND THE DIRECTORS NO ONE BOTHERED ANSWERING AND WILL DO NOTHING TO PUT THE MATTER RIGHT . THEY DID NOT DO THE JOB THE WERE PURCHASED FOR THEY ARE USELESS. THEY IGNORE LETTERS EMAILS AND BECAUSE IT WAS AFTER THE 28 DAY OF PURCHASED THAT I MANAGED TO PUT THEM UP AS MY HUSBAND HAD DIED THEY WILL NOT HELP KEEP AWAY FROM POUNDSTRETCHERS NOT A NICE COMPANY

“helpful and friendly store”

I would just like to comment about the Lancing store,after reading other reviews i consider it an absolute delight to shop in this store,im a local and in there on a daily bases,yes the shop can be cluttered and under staffed but the staff that are about always give 110% in order to satisfy their customers,whether ive asked for a price,a particular item i cant find ,assistance to carry shopping to my car or just a simple and pleasant reply to my "hello",i always get a response with a smile. yes they may be treated like dirt higher up the managerial ladder but the staff in this little alladins cave never show that to the customers,one slight moan i may say is that they say it only takes 1 to upset the applecart,well unfortunatly one girl who i can only presume is training for a managerial role really shouldnt be if you know what i mean!! please keep up the good work Lancing it would be a real bummer to loose you xx

“never get a home delivery!!”

*ordered a electrical product 2 weeks ago, they reckoned they have been putting a card through my door, but i never received any thing and have been waiting in for them. so after 2 days i rang up and asked where it is, they have been delivering it to the wrong address, so i gave them my right address and ye still getting delivered to the wrong address so i rang up again and the women was terrible rude and no help at all!! after ringing up everyday for 2 weeks, they still was giving them the wrong address, at the end of 2 weeks i ring up asking what is happening they had put a different address down still, but did get a very helpful person who sorted and i did get my product but plugged it in and it doesn't work the plug blew, has put me off shopping there again and defiantly not getting home delivery. very poor customer service and

I completely agree with this review, pretty much the same thing happened to me. I ordered a few storage boxes and phoned them a week later asking where they were I was told they had the wrong address I confirmed the correct address with them and they said they would sent them again, the same thing kept happening I phoned them a number of times and they said the same thing, I also mentioned that of spent over £20 phone them because they never phoned me and they said it was not their fault and that I could email them I was not happy with this but still sent an email of complaint but had no reply, after 2 months the boxes came but 2 out of 3 were broken one of them was smashed to pieces and the other had several bad cracks, I phoned them again and they told me it was over 7 days after delivery so they couldn't do anything about it ( the person was very rude throughout the call) I informed them that it hadnt even been a week but they we're still reluctant to do anything about the matter and after 20 minutes of arguing and being put on hold every few minutes they finally agreed the refund the items weather the refund will happen is yet to be seen. I will NEVER be ordering from them again the service I have receive throughout has been outrageous.

“poor customer service”

I recently bought a child's plastic microwave and was shocked to discover leaking batteries in the battery compartment. After emailing head office it took 6 weeks for them to get in touch to simply tell me to return the item, no apology just a snotty enquiry as to whether I had proof of purchase which I had emailed to them 3 times!!!! I was asked for my address so a letter of apology could be sent out but a week on still nothing. It took going into the store and the store manager calling to elicit a response.when I asked the customer service representative if they had policies in place to ensure this didn't happen again all I got was 'of course we have policies'. Two months on and the product is still on the shelf with no warning signs or new procedures to check the batteries before sale. Absolutely disgusted with the poor standards of care received from the so called customer service department and will now be forwarding my complaints to trading standards.

“Worst experience...wouldnt recommend”

Ordered my parcel about a month ago. They have never been delivered. I emailed customer service with no replies as they just ignored my emails. They Did not refund me back my money as it seems they made a mistake in my home address.Worst experience ever in my life.

“Value and Efficiency”

It is always a pleasure to shop at Poundstretcher in Exeter. There is an excellent choice of goods and the prices are the best in the city. The assistants are invariably friendly and efficient and nothing is too much trouble for them.

“WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER”

I unfortunately placed an order with Poundstretcher online. The order arrived with a large item missing and no invoice included. I rang customer services several times before anyone answered and when they eventually did, I had to hang on waiting for an assistant to trace the missing item. I was informed she would call the carriers and would get back to me. I waited and no call came, I rang back and was told that the carrier was delivering the missing item the same day. I waited in, it never arrived so I had to wait in the next day,it finally arrived. Problem sorted, NO. A few days later they sent me a duplicate order (complete this time). I rang customer service, the phone rings but its very hard to get anyone to answer, I rang again at 5.15pm and after hanging on realised that they closed at 5.30pm so knew they wasn't going to answer. I rang again the next day and eventually managed to speak to an assistant who was going to sort out the problem. I had to ring back again, this time it was a different assistant who said she would get the first assistant to ring me back. 2 hours later, no call was coming. I rang again and spoke to the lady who was supposed to ring me back and she couldn't have cared less. This problem has cost me through no fault of mine, for items they sent me in error, that they wouldn't have been aware of, without my honesty. Never again do I order from Poundstretcher online.

“Poor products and poor customer service”

I bought an outdoor box which I defy anyone to put together without breaking. Customer service was non existent. I will never buy anything from there again.

“Terrible customer service”

Terrible customer service – wrong item dispatched, without VAT invoice. Being promised to receive exchange which did not happen, being constantly put on hold on the info line. Called head office to make complain about customer service, said I do not want to talk to customer service as I am trying to make complain about theirs work before I had a chance to finish I was put forward to customer service.... Worst shopping experience ever. Do not try to deal with those people.

“Worst ”

I order x5 steam mop online it stop work with in 30 mins of using it I phoned them up and they done is mess me around for 3 day I asked to talk to manger she was in meeting the second she wasn't in and then third time they laughter and but the phone down never getting any thing for they

“Complaint re lack of customer service.”

This companies customer service is appalling. Since October 2013 I have written three letters of complaint to senior people in this company. To date I have not had the courtesy of one reply. I have taken to making posts on their Facebook site still no reply. In fact they appear to have stopped people posting reviews for fear of criticism. What a way to conduct a business!

“Duvet”

I bought 2 x Coloroll duvets which appeared at first sight to be very good value. When the items arrived both of the internal item packages had been opened and one had obviously been removed from its wrapping and repacked. Had I wanted 'returns' or 'seconds' I would have accepted a reduced price but I paid the full price with no caveats on the purchase. I emailed the customer service but have received no answer whatsover let alone an acknowledgement of my complaint.

“Employee!”

I am an employee for this company, and firstly, i would like to apologise on behalf of the rude members of staff that some of you have had to deal with, especially management but i would like to assure you that it is nothing personal, management speak to their staff horribly too. Secondly, i understand that many of you feel there are never enough staff on shop floor and trust me, we all feel the same. Even working on a 4 hour contract and being paid minimum wage for doing a 3 person job half the time (serving,stocking,tidying and merching) our wage allowance is stupidly low and therefore do not have the money to have enough people on shift. Finally, the shelves are all stupidly rammed full but that is because we have deliveries of upto 30+ pallets and no space in our overcrowded and down right dangerous warehouse to put it so, unfortunately, we do have to shove the things on the shelf whether we like it or not. So yeah guys, i am truly sorry and hope that someone who matters will recognise these complaints and make a change!

“Not given adjustment”

Purchased two bottles of Morning Fresh Washing up Liquid @ 2 for a £1. When I got home I checked my receipt and found I have not been charged the correct price. When I phoned them up to complain I was told that they used to be that price but the offer had now finished even though the price on the shelf was 2 for a £1. I will not be using this store again!!!

“i work there and ”

When I first started I had to open two shops I got told if I didn't do this then I would have no job at all so I had to do it as I needed the job both stores I had to set up and open one was an hour away and the other was two and a half hours away I work for this company as a sales manger I worked from a sales assist bare in mind before I was trained too do what a manger did I had to learn it all on my own I was left in the **** not knowing what to do on a low wage and not getting paid for a manger role. now that I am a manger I realise that this pay is just as bad I don't get over time if do over 40 hours I do it for free so im basically losing nearly £200 a month and that is a lot of money too lose. they treat staff like rubbish and they do not give you time too do what you need too do in the shop. the manger he gets what days he wants of and when he likes cos he gets around the area manger when it come to me wanting time off it a hassle and a problem same with other staff at my store we cant be sick cos manger will moan but if he is ill we all have to take it. not enough staff at all and a load of stock to be put out as well. I agree that they have stacked to high of things but the thing is it not us area manger wants it like that but if I had my way it our store we should be able too do what we like with it and how we want it. I think that what is selling in the shop is not good quality at all I say get what you payed for too. as well sometimes also cusmtours coming on here you are forgetting that we are going by what our mangers and who ever owns the company's says rules not ours so why we are the ones getting it in the neck from cusmtours they are not caring at all, I have been called every name under the sun and I have been threatened. they don't care about health and safety at all and that you get threated by shop lifetered also. I only stay here cos I need the money, people have commented on here saying don't like it don't work there I wish I didn't have to work there but need the money, the sooner im out of that place the better and I will be writing a email to head office and the owner of the store, im surprised that they have been running for this long.

“Employees are treated like dirt!”

I work in poundstretchers in wembley, London. All i can say is that the managers are SO RUDE! They treat us like dirt, like slaves. Telling us to restock everything in the store! We have to clean the store rooms, which has over 40,000 products and they want us to do it within a day!! My friend had to clean the store room by himself, he asked for help, the sales manager told him to 'shut up and finish your work' I went into work a couple of days ago, on a sunday. The sales manager again, was very very rude. He did not let any of us have breaks, we were working from 11-6.30/7. He told us we cannot have breaks as there were only 3 people working that day! How is that our fault? Wembley poundstretchers have only got about 10 employees! And they have about 2-3 working each day! He also told me to stop complaining, and to stop asking questions. Another thing that irritates me, is that the store closing time every day mon-sat is 7, but they close by 8 which means the staff leave at 9, or on a sunday we close at 6 instead of 5, which means we go home at 7!!! WHAT IS THIS B.S! Another thing i wasnt aware of when i first joined was the 4 hour contract!!!!! And they make us work atleast 15-30 hours a week(part time)! And now, because of the sales, we get a lot of stock and 1000s of customers! Its so busy, but the manager still does not want to employ any more people! Then they complain that they dont have enough staff! What the hell!! I would leave right now if i didnt need the money! I will be so much happier without them. Its terrible! I used to think id love work, earn money and id be able to go out/rent my own place. But NO, these people think its the 1930s or something. Its disgusting! I want to get out! Even worse, the head office doesnt do anything! If you complain, they put you through to the manager of the store!!! Whats the point?????? We obviously would get fired on the spot, so no one actually complains!! These people need to sort themselves out fast!!! HELP US EMPLOYEES!!!!!!!! If something isnt done by this year or next, i may well be making a petition to shut them down. I know they have some good cheap things, and a lot of people shop there, but if you all found out how we are treated, im sure you wouldnt want to look back at that place.

“poor quality”

I purchased a set of curtains yesterday but had to return them today as they were stained. After exchanging them I unpacked the new set only to find that these were also stained, only worse than the first set , and in addition, there were rips in the lining and the stitching was done by somone whose mind was not on the job or performed by someone who was visually impaired. Where do they get their goods from???. There appears to be no quality control whatsoever. These will be returned tomorrow.

“very rude, unhelpful staff, takes forever to serve”

I went to the Stockport poundstretcher store today to return. It was a second time within a week I went to return something. The shop assistant treated me in a very rude way, like it woulfd not be in my right to return something. In the past they were always taking forever when asked to find something in the shop or simply said that they do not have something, while they had.

I am wanting to purchase super chunky bright merino wool yarn, I bought some in November 2014 but hadn't bought enough for the project I am working on. My local store in Ripon North Yorkshire haven't had any more stock in and was told I could order online, but visiting their website there doesn't seem to be the facility to place any orders. Please can you advise on how I go about ordering more wool? Many thanks

Do you have a address for complaints regarding the coloroll memory foam mattresses please? I purchased 2 of these last year and already they have lost the memory, the first one was brought Jan and the 2nd Feb although were not opened until a month later so I do not have receipts. I wish I had not brought memory foam and should have known that the price of £99 each was to good to be true and it was, what a waste of nearly £200. - totally gutted

Hopefully their website can help you, if you direct yourself to their return policy page.   If the products were not 'fit for purpose' (as yours clearly aren't) in my opinion you should be entitled to a refund, but you may have a struggle on your hands - Poundstretchers are not the easiest chain to deal with. However, I persevered with my problem, and contacted Trading Standards - you may wish to consider doing this if you are not satisfied. Good luck!
