That’s the second time I’ve had to deal with this guy in the Game at Clydebank. It’s awful customer service in my opinion. I asked if they had an “edition” of a game and they said oh that’s “Preorder exclusive”. You wanna know why? I got the game no problem on the Nintendo Eshop a week after the game came out and even funnier that I got the preorder bonuses as it was a digital version. The edition that I asked for. It’s also on Amazon and other sites as well. I seen some behind the guy and I told him look there’s stuff there. He said oh sorry that’s for “preorder people” Your talking a load of rubbish because the game has been out for a week and you keep preorders for 2 days or 48 hours. Your just keeping it to yourselves really. The guy gave some cheek too with his tone of voice. I do not recommend going to Game as this incident has happened twice.

“Would give 0 stars if i could ”

I would give 0 stars if i could. I ordered a parcle 2 weeks ago and they lost it so i had to order it again and paid for 24 hour delivery and they lost that one as well, really not impressed with their care or customer support.

“Feel Cheated”

I would advise anyone wishing to renew a software licence not to buy a code from The Game in Birkenhead. As I have done for several years now I purchased a Christmas gift for both of my grandsons I requested a 12 month XBOX LIVE renewal for each of them. The assistant typed in a code, produced a printed renewal document which he put in a wallet. These were given to the boys at Christmas. Towards the end of January they tried to renew their XBOX's but they both failed. On checking the documents given to me it was found the assistant had given codes for the wrong hardware. I returned to the store with all the relevant paperwork and explained their mistake. They said it was now after the refund date by 1 week and they could do nothing. I then wrote to the head office and after an exchange of emails they also declined to help. This problem was down to a member of their staff making a mistake. I have now renewed online but am now £100 out of pocket and have had 2 upset grandsons. I will make sure that my family and friends do not use this store in future.

POSTED ON TRUSTPILOT DO NOT USE GAME ONLINE Had I read the other reviews on here I would never have bought from this shower! I ordered FIFA 19 Champions Edition (PlayStation 4) for £67.99 on the 14th November for my 12 Year Old Sons Christmas. On Christmas Night he returned from his bedroom with an empty box and exclaimed that there was no disc within. Thinking he had possibly misplaced it in the excitement to play it, I did a search of his room and saw there was indeed no disc. Contact was made with GAME ONLINE immediately to advise of the matter and ruining his Christmas! An excessive time passed with no communication, it was appreciated that this was within the Festive break, but still I believe the delay in replying to be excessive ....Christmas ruined and then no contact. When they did finally reply the responses were timely. That is to the point of conning me into sending the case back to them to receive my refund as they had none in stock. Communication then ceased, I had to continually chase them for my refund. I was then advised an ''investigation'' was taking place. I replied this was never mentioned previously and I wanted my money! On the 18th January they then advised ''This has been thoroughly investigated by both our management and warehouse teams and unfortunately it has not been deemed possible for an empty case to be sent out with no disc or digital content inside as these are sealed from the manufacturer.'' Absolute nonsense the fact is there was no disc and great offence was taken at the intimation that I was trying to scam a refund from them. Automated processes do fail that is why we have Engineers/Technicians to fix them! And I would hazard a guess, the reply was from someone with not an ounce of an Engineering background. You need only Google to find all the big game manufacturers have had issues with the same happening over the Years. You can also see the comment of a shop assistant giving someone the code for an alternative gaming medium, admitting to the customer they did so and then when the manager is involved they then deny it ever happened - sums up this shower quite nicely. I have asked by Son to switch to Xbox (he rarely uses) but the cost he says is too great. He had run up a bill of £50 buying themes etc. for his games, he asks if ok to do so and repays me when home from working offshore, the chances of me leaving my credit card details for this to continue are slim and if I do take them off the chances of me telling him by phone or online are zero! So, they have my money - I have no disc and they persuaded me into returning the case to be used again that I actually paid for and my Wife took the trouble to package and return....! As a side issue, regards their intimation of me scamming a refund, I returned from work on 18th Jan and whilst in the Taxi I used I happened across an IPad in the rear of the Taxi and immediately brought to the attention of the driver who knew who would have left it. I would not dream of keeping said item or indeed scamming regards the missing disc. I will never buy from this shower ever again and shall be contacting PlayStation and Trading Standards with my complaint and bringing to their attention the numerous Customer Complaints on Trustpilot over various issues regards GAME ONLINE. It is this lot that need investigating! I have all information on file to substantiate my complaint. Unhappy and furious at their implications! Cheers

“Avoid!”

Ordered an xbox one console on black friday sale, was sent out following day (happy days) via Yodel (not so happy days) delivery was apparently refused, it wasn't, don't know where they tried to deliver to. It was returned to sender. After numerous conversations with online chat (won't go into details or will be here all week) they eventually received it back a week and a half later, asked for it to be sent out again (As I had been told I could do all along) only to be told (5 Days later after contacted them again) it was out of stock, really when you had back what I had ordered? Made a complaint and have been waiting a week for a 'manager' to call me. Don't bother with this company they use a useless courier and have non existent customer service.

“DON'T USE ONLINE TRADE”

DO Not use online trade-in... Sent off 6 games for trade, got an email to say one of the games (Resident Evil 4) was not UK made. Rubbish, I actually bought this particular game in my local Game store. They refused to give me money for the game and refused to return it.. Games was valued at £8 so I've lost that money. I won't be using this service again, sell on ebay or Amazon instead. Customer Service is much better..

“Just awful”

Appalling company. Will not get another penny from me ever! Preordered special edition nba2k for my son. Paid £85 for this edition and was meant to be delivered on release day...today. Not arrived. Customer service is a joke. Live chat advisor copy and pasted standard responses about delivery taking up to 3 days. This is not what you advertised on your website at time of purchase. Even an order costing this much can not be tracked apparently. Utter disgrace. Will stick with Amazon in future.

“You actually order disappointment.”

GAME online. You would suppose that it's a good service. Right? Everything seems inviting about the site. The layout, everything. Well it's a good service, up until you order something. For example, I ordered Saints Row 4 Re-Elected. It said it was in stock, so I decided to order it. It said 2-3 working days delivery. Well mine took 14 days. But you would think it came. It didn't. Took them 14 days to email me saying:" It's not in stock". Embarrassing. For every story there is a moral, for this story the moral is: "Don't order from GAME online, get your games from Amazon or the store on your console". But with full honesty, I am telling the truth, as fun as this story is written, I am not lying. I will leave you with a piece of advice; "Don't buy from GAME, or online."

“Don't use them”

On the 2nd February 2018, I ordered a Turtle Beach Stealth 700 for the Xbox One, for delivery on the 3rd February 2018. All would of been fine, if they handed it over to the delivery company, however this did not happen. So on the 3rd Feb, I phoned up Game, to find out what happening, they didn't seem to know (lol). I informed them, if it was not delivered on the 3rd February to cancel the order and refund me. The customer service person, said they was going to email the warehouse to find out what was going on and if it hadn't been sent to cancel it. So on the Sunday I went out and bought a set of Astro A50 for the Xbox One, as I presumed this was all sorted. But to my supprise this was not the case, the headset was delivered on Tuesday, 6th Feb 2018. Once I foudn this out, I was straight on the phone to Game, for a Free return, they did not want to provide this, even thought it was due to there failing. So I had to push and in the end they gave said they will provide me a refund for the return, which they did. They received the item back on Friday the 9th February, so I thought to myself I would have the refund on the Monday. The refund in the end came through on Wednesday 14th Feb 2018, which was 12 days from ordering. During this time, I stuck to my guns and keep pushing via the Ticket them opened. The last reply I recieved from Game was on the 9th Feb 2018

“I so wish I had read these reviews before.......”

I so wish I had read these reviews before I ordered with Game.co.uk, previously I always thought they were a great Company but sadly my own experience and reading and realising the familarity with the issues others have felt, highlights to me that there are some serious concerns. Like many I took advantage of a black friday deal and shortly afterwards received notification that DPD were going to deliver my package on the 27th November 2017. Alas it did not arrive, and stated it was still at the local-ish delivery depot. The next day there was no change so I contacted Game. In fairness helpful staff contacted DPD and received a message back stating they didn't know where the package was and they had searched lost items with a negative result and that it will be deferred until the following Friday and to wait 3 to 5 working days. This of course is from DPD, not Game and is my first negative experience of DPD. On Friday it was quite clear nothing had been done, I expressed my concerns and spoke to a floor supervisor, who informed me that DPD had requested more time, but had also stated that Game could start making a claim. I stated I wanted it resolved, my contract is with Game and not DPD and I require guarantee of a replacement should the inevitable lost in the post happen. I was assured that if I can fill out a claim form and return by the 3pm cut off that a replacement FOC could be sent to arrive with me for Monday, Monday arrives and no notification of expected deliver or dispatch, I contact customer services again, again in fairness the advisor was as helpful as they could be, but I ended up having to ask for the supervisor again, to obtain further info. In short the request for a replacement was declined by management and therefore I am currently out of pocket, spent a lot of time trying to resolve this amicably and someone in "management" does not think that is acceptable. I have expressed my concerns like no doubt many parents /customers over the time in having to wait to get things resolved and the difficulties but to no avail, I just get the feeling they simply don't care. I've given them the benefit of doubt over the busy period and of course realise things can go wrong, however it's how they are corrected that really matters and whilst I'm sure some of the people I've spoken to are sincere, it seems the policy from above doesn't favour customer satisfaction. Please however, should you also be in the unfortunate situation I currently am and have the need to ring customer services, please try and remember the person you are speaking to on the other end, whilst representing the Company, didn't personally muck up your order, it's a thankless job at the best of times and in some ways I feel for them, certainly if theres a great deal of complaint to deal with, so just remember they are doing a job like all of us and following a script set out for them, it's those that set the script that the frustration should be vented, rather than those that pick up the phone. I just hope that things get resolved a little more quickly not just for me but for everyone. I hope management take note because without us customers there is no business. This whole experience thusfar has sadly put me off dealing with them again. It may have been a cheap price in comparison but I am certainly paying the price now :( I so wish it could have been a different, enjoyable expereince. Game: Things to improve * Time taken to contact customer service * Follow up and keeping us advised * Different courier if causing so many issues * Trust your staff in customer service, if they have requested a replacement, there's no doubt a reason, don't reject it. * Try and think how you would feel if the shoe was on the other foot. * Remember things do go wrong, customers accept that, but it's how you deal with it that makes the difference! ***Update*** I contacted customer service again, as they were meant to be monitoring the situation every half hour and updating me of any changes, but again I heard nothing by 8pm from 12pm so I rang for an update. After a 40 minute wait on the phone, i spoke to a chap, explained the situation and he looked on the system, to find a note that said there was no stock for FOC replacement and to refund the customer, so after all this time I was just dumped. He assures me a refund has been requested / processed and due to the time constraints I've had to source a replacement elsewhere, hitting my credit card twice in the meantime. I hope the refund is much quicker, than the rest of the sorting out. So after much messing and chasing, I was dropped with little effort to put right the situation. Not a company that will be getting my business again! Further Update ******* BEWARE******* I received notifcation of my refund, of my total order value of £319.99, which was for a Switch and 2 games black friday bundle I am apparently due back £238 for the Switch, as I haven't returned the games and I wasn't asked to, neither did I cancel the order. Apparently that is the discounted amount of the console in the deal, no mention of it at the time and I've never seen Game sell a Switch console for £238, it is now just blatent robbery pure and simple, especially when they are selling it for £279.99 and was at the time of the deal and still are now, how they have the cheek to argue it was discounted to £238 when it was not clearly stated is beyond me. They actually want me to return the games, which surprisingly they sent separately, and trust them to refund in full, yet then I have to go through the trouble of sourcing them again and have the worry and extra cost of obtaining which is simply not worth the risk at this time. They are sticking to their script, have not given me the courtesy of a reply to my complaints, don't listen to reason, won't compensate for my troubles or the cost of obtaining a replacement. Please, please do not trust this Company to do anything honourable. Please if anyone else experiences similar treatment complain to trading standards, watchdog etc. I'll be letting them know, for what good it is, yes it's a matter of £30 or so but it is an unfair practice, especially since they have cancelled the order, not me, all I wanted was a replacement for the one that did not arrive. Clearly my one complaint doesn't matter, but collectively we may get something done. I even discussed my plight with the same floor supervisor who only yesterday was promising me a replacement and couldn't understand why management had cancelled the other, oh how things change. Clearly treating customers with discontent and hiding behind cheep tricks of taking off the full price of the games and assuming the console is discounted is far more important to them, then resolving an issue that they have caused. Anyone who choses to deal with them, best of luck I hope things go well for you and you get better service, perhaps my experience is a "one off" but sadly judging by other reviews I fear not.

“Customer service is pathetic online”

The customer service has no telephone number and is pathetic to communicate with online. The chat system has you on hold for 30 minutes then crashes out The email back up takes days to respond whilst getting your issue wrong, like they haven't read your email at all! I will not deal with this company again.

Purchased football manager in store for my son without realising or being told by the sales staff that there is a new version out in a week. As the product is sold by activation code they do not offer exchange or refund under any circumstance- most unhelpful, unpleasant customer services staff I have ever dealt with. Basically I gave them £35 for nothing

“Worst customer service server, Birmingham Bullring”

Very poor customer service! Pre-ordered the Snes mini for my cousin, however I never received a call or email regarding the Snes release date and collection time. I had to search various sites to get the direct number for the store because the number online takes me to an agent with a wait time over 20 minutes unfortunately. When I pre-ordered the console, the member of staff did confirm everything was fine after looking up my details on the system in July, as no date was confirmed for collection, he informed me that the store will be in touch once the item arrives! No phone calls and no emails, I called up the store last night and the guy told me the store contacted all customers to come in and collect, if any customer fails to turn up, after two days the store can sell your pre ordered Console. I told him that I did not receive any phone calls or emails and his response was that my number was not on the system! It was your job to make sure all details are correct so that it would not lead me to leave a negative review online, and I can continue shopping within your store in future. All you could offer me was the £50 deposit on a game store card. That's not good enough, you made the mistake you need to refund the deposit back in cash for this inconvenience you've caused me. Never again. If you want good products, overall great customer service experience, stay away from Game. This store is a mess!

“Unacceptable Service”

“Terrible waste of my time”

Ordering a PS4 console and game it let me pay then I got a sorry message, I wasn't sure if the order had gone through or not so spent 30 mins futily hanging on the phone got nowhere and had to hang up and will now have to keep checking my Bank statement and buy elsewhere I feel really annoyed.

“Loyalty Points Farce”

Been loyal to this company since the 'Late 80s before the name changed to game. I.E. Electronic Boutique was one previous company they took over. When I moved to the town I live in now, they took my card and supposedly transferred my account details. Important to mind here - I have never had a loyalty penny from this bunch of rip off merchants. I bought my 1T PS4 from them as soon as they came out plus about £200 of games on that particular day. Bought 4 games last week and I notice when I mentioned loyalty points, the girl was evasive. So I went in today with my old card. They found my Reward Account ?"(%^&*"£ !!!! Well guess what, after all those years of buying games for my PC, plus an XBox and games for that, then the PS4 and games and games, well for all my years of loyalty and the £1000's I have spent my loyalty has earned me .....DRUM ROLL ........ 92p. Not even an effing pound. Oh they had no record of my PS4 purchase "what date was it purchased" - in the same week the 1T PS4 came out. I was enthusiastically informed that GAME take money out of you're own loyalty account if you don't buy anything for a year. That is so nice of them. Good job they are not an effing bank - right. Never ever again will I purchase anything from this bunch

“International Buyers Stay Away”

Ordered a steam link 22 days ago (the website states delivery in 3-6 business days). They don't provide me with the means to track my order and they haven't answered any mail i've sent them. At this point i'm truly worried that i'm not even going to get refunded.

“Do not use this company”

My son's order for PS4 was passed to a 3rd party from game.co.uk website. He paid for next day delivery which didn't come. He tried to complain to game.co.uk whose attitude is basically 'nothing to do with us, your order was passed to a 3rd party'. The whole situation is very disappointing. Despite passing his order to a 3rd party they simply do not care that it as gone wrong. Amazon wouldn't let their vendors get away with it but Game seem to think it’s Ok. Game.co.uk took his money, passed his order on but evidently DO NOT CARE that it has gone wrong. No one from Game in the call centre is helping and my son and I are having to do all of the chasing. My son has been a loyal Game customer up to now with whom he has spent 100s of ££££ over the years. Outrageous customer service, shame on you game.co.uk. Why is nobody from GAME prepared to take responsibility?
