When looking for a shredder I was going to buy the one with most powerful motor for want of any other guideline. It was only reading the reviews on this site which caused me to buy the Bosch 2200 HP instead, and I'm very glad I did - I have rarely been so pleased with a piece of kit as this.
When it came it was a little smaller than I expected and I wondered at the picture on the box of a large bush protruding out of the top of the shredder. I thought it odd for a firm like Bosch to display such a daft exaggeration - until I used it. I cut an eight-foot branch of buddleia and lifted it in as a test and felt my jaw drop as the machine got a grip on the stem, dragged it in, and chewed it to bits without a hiccup. In no time the whole big plant was a heap of chips.
The only thing you need to know is that it only mulches up things with a stem for the cutter to get a grip on - if you're thinking of cutting up leaves or such then this is not for you.

Bosch AXT 2200 HP QUIET SHREDDER - Overall we have been very pleased with it. We find it easy to wheel out, use and wheel away so don't have a problem with small jobs. Instant tidy up and free mulch or compost!

As stated, the Bosch AXT 2200 shredder is really good with tree prunings. Anything with a strong stem and more than about 12 inches long - the resulting chippings are a little on the large side, but they rot down very quickly on the compost heap, or they can be used in lieu of bark chipping to keep those weeds down.

This machine has a most impressive performance when it comes to chopping branches and twigs into small pieces. I am doubtful about the Bosch claim that the remains created are suitable for compost however - from previous experience, they seem too chunky and solid to readily break down into compost. I have started a large amount of this going with kitchen waste on top to help it along but the trouble is that one has to wait a year to find out whether it is going to compost down or not!
