Chose a different local BP garage to my usual one as it was 3p less, and my fuel light was on. NOT AGAIN. Used the black nozzle for diesel. Paid with Barclaycard and received piece of paper - receipt for card payment only - it did not include a detailed one stating x amount of diesel for x pence per ltr., but its not something you study - just put it in your wallet with your card and drive away. Driving away I remembered the cashier had not reminded me whether I collect Nectar points - something my usual station always does. 2.7 miles later I stopped to let my son out of car. Could not restart. I suspected fuel (as I have NEVER had a car stop on me for decades). Sure enough, 2 1/2 hours later when breakdown finally arrived, they disconnected a pipe and said I had petrol, not diesel. I was adamant that I only used the black diesel nozzle and described exactly where it was situated on the forecourt. (I have not used green - petrol - for decades). The breakdown driver put my car on its lorry and drove me to the station. He checked the pump I had described and said it contained diesel - but pointed out that it has been known to have the wrong fuel in one tank, then when it is empty to auto switch to another (correct) tank. I presented my Barclaycard receipt to the cashier who said she was unable to call up a copy of the vat receipt that would have contained full details of my transaction. (Why not - surely there is a duty? - it was only 3 hours later). Meanwhile I am going to have a repair bill of probably £150+. How can I PROVE anything? BP are unlikely to admit an error - I can only hope that the local press receive reports of similar problems. Has anyone else experienced similar? 01/09/12

i use a 24 hour bp petrol station on causewayside in edinburgh and almost everytime i go in or one of my friends go into this shop the staff try and overcharge us by ringing up items twice or not scanning the items and making up a price (which appears as DUMP instead of the product). i noticed this a few times and thought genuine mistake, but it happens constantly. i have recently been adding up the costs myself and demanding a receipt (my request for this is normally ignored and i have to ask several times while they pretend they cant hear me and try to move onto the next customer) and its shocking what they try to get away with. I once had food worth around 8 pounds and was watching as the thief behind the till rung up and it was past 14 pounds when i asked him what he thought he was doing he told me sorry i rang up something that cost like 2.50 one time extra! he still had a few items to go and im in no doubt it would have been well over double of the marked prices. also i notice when they have "special offers" on display you dont actually get the special offer your buy one get one free is actually a buy one get another for exactly the same price and again its rung up as DUMP? again, i dont know what this means. also its a terrible service when you walk in sometimes they guys behind the till will be shouting their head off into a phone and dont even acknowledge you until they have finished their extremely loud phone call. its a total disgrace and should be shut down my friends may use this after the pub and they seem to target people they think are drunk too i warned my friend before we went in about 1-2am on a saturday morning to watch the price he tries to charge and we were actually charged more than the stated prices. this isnt just one single worker in the shop it actually seems to be what they all do. and last night i bought 2 curries marked at 2.49 and i seen the price on the till come up 2.99 i told the guy this twice he pretended to do something with the till and kept putting our items through and i had to ask 3 or 4 times for our receipt and point out the mistake he said its coming up on here 2.99 so i physically showed him the items and the prices on the box he shrugged his shoulders expecting me to leave another member of staff appeared and i told him the same he didnt care so i showed him the receipt and he eventually gave us the change. and one other time i was in the shop it was raining and there were a few cars trying to fill up with petrol and the member of staff behind the till was watching them like nothing was wrong so after a while someone come in from the forecourt and asked why the pumps were not working the guy on the till said oh they are off today. no signs no nothing and certainly no concern that people were outside in the wet and cold waiting for petrol and he didnt tell them it wasnt going to work and that he wasnt putting any notice up i guess if there was no petrol they wouldnt come into the garage at all and another great opprtunitiy to rip off people with the goods inside the shop would pass.

UNFORTUNATELY FOR ME THERE ARE MANY BP STATIONS AROUND CENTRAL SCOTLAND WHERE I WORK. I AM CONSTANTLY FILLING UP AS I DO MANY MILES A WEEK ACROSS THE CENTRAL BELT. THE MOST ANNOYING THING ABOUT BP STATIONS IS THE CONSTANT QUEUES. NO MATTER WHERE I AM IN THE COUNTRY - ITS THE SAME STORY ! ONE CASHIER ON THE TILL WHILST ANOTHER FILLS THE M&S SHELVES. NO MANAGER TO BE SEEN. SOMETIMES THERE IS SOMEONE AT THE CAFE TILL WHO WILL SERVE THE CUSTOMERS BUT WHAT IRRITATES ME THE MOST IS HAVING TO WAIT IN A QUEUE TO PAY FOR MY FUEL BEHIND 5 , 6 OR MORE PEOPLE WITH M&S BASKETS FULL OF FOOD !! I WAS IN A BP QUEUE FOR 12 MINUTES THE OTHER DAY JUST TO PAY FOR MY FUEL. DON'T GET ME WRONG - I FEEL FOR THE POOR GIRLS/LADS ON THE TILLS AS THEY SEEM UNDER CONSTANT PRESSURE. EVER LISTENED TO A BP CASHIER ? ITS LIKE THE THIRD DEGREE ! THEY MUST BE PROGRAMMED TO REPEAT THE CONSTANT SELLING AT THE TILL! AS IF WE'VE NOT BEEN FLEECED ENOUGH FOR OUR FUEL THEY WANT EVEN MORE MONEY FROM US. I TRY TO AVOID BP IF I CAN BECAUSE OF THE QUEUES AND LACK OF STAFF. THEY MUST HAVE LOST A LOT OF CUSTOMERS GETTING TOGETHER WITH M&S. AVOID BP/M&S ESPECIALLY IF YOU CAN !!!

Have used the same BP station on A5 just off junction 12 of M6 only as a last resort. First occasion, got to the checkout and realised I was being overcharges. When I questioned it I was told I had filled up with ulitmate petrol not the standard. Having used it once again today, I have had the same thing only this time I used a different pump. Out of 4 pumps as least 2 have 'ULTIMATE' fuel. Its a disgrace that this company seems to be able to get away with it time and again across the business. Looking at the other reviews this is not an isolated incident!!!

Not sure if you are aware of this, but we were appalled. We were on the way home to Manchester following a few days holiday, stopping just outside Malton, N. Yorks at a BP Petrol Station for diesel. The price on the large board was 145.9 however as my husband was about to pick up the gun to fill the car I spotted that the price on the pump was 155.9. I told him of the discrepancy and after careful looking around at all the pumps there was only 2 (out of 10) with the lower price due to what they termed "superior diesel". Please carefully check what price is advertised on the main boards with both the price on the pump AND in the sales window. Such bad practice!!

Went to the garage to and put £15 in my car , it didn't even take it to quarter of a tank and i wasn't even on the red . Went back to complain and all i was told is that it must be the size of my full tank , yet the same amount in Esso garage down the road from me takes me to nearly half a tank . Complete scam

Do not get your petrol here, the pump starts clocking up charge when you take nozzle off and before you even put petrol in. It put £2.00 on. I complained and they just ignored. Complete scam going on. Watch where you go.

BP took full responsibility for the incident which was caused by their negligence and said they would reimburse my expenses. Five months later they have not paid a penny and have employed insurance agents to fight my claim? I do not recommend this company, they clearly think they can ruin my car through their negligence, subject me to lost earnings and back out of their responsibility. I would not recommend using BP

Always either running out of LPG/Autogas or pump broken. Staff very unhelpful, can never say when they will have some and no one ever admits to being the manager.

i used the car wash at the BP station at gemini retails park, warrington on 18.03.11.
it pulled the bumper off one side of my car. i went to report it and they took my number to report to manager. the garage said i might need a new bumper as the hook attachments were broken. i rang the garage to see what the manager said and was told that they were not responsible. all cars were washed at own risk and that nothing loose should be left on cars. nothing was lose before i used the car wash. they said it was tested regularly and no one else had experienced problems. my car is 2 years old and i am told that it will cost me around £600. a very expensive car wash!!!
no help to the service station.

BP filling station west of Oxford on the A40
Complained to the manager last week that one of the diesel hoses has a petrol nozzle (so it does not work in my Ford filler and could misfuel a petrol car). Went in today and nothing has been done-not even an "out of order" tag. Asked to see the manager and was told I would have to wait for 20 min as "he is busy".

i am sick to death of the facilities not working at the Stonehaven bp garage in Aberdeenshire. I like many residents rely on the correct Tyre pressure, water for the screen wash and a clean vehicle for the many miles a week i cover but as always these simple facilities are never working..i like many of my friends and family will never use this garage again for anything..worse garage in Scotland without doubt.

I find it quite outrageous and total profiteering on BP's behalf to have been asked to pay 79.9p per litre for LPG Gas at the Roundswell Station yesterday and earlier this week. The same is on sale in London for 67p per litre!
On querying the price with the personnel at the counter, she told me that BP charge what they feel the market will tolerate, as they have no other competition for LPG in that area.
A quite intolerable situation, and total exploitation of local buyers!

Today I filled up at BP. I handed out my Nectar card and never got it back. When I pointed out that he did not return my card to me he said he had done. 20 minutes later after searching my wallet as it might have been my error , no card found. Cashier nicked it and never returned it back. He did not want to cooperate or even check if he dropped it.
