We had two claims for a eye condition, we went to our vets and after no response to treatment we was referred to a specialist ,both the vets filled out the forms and I just had to sign and I was expecting to lose two lots of excesses but as it was a on going issue we only had to pay once and cos it's a on going problem there is no more excess to pay for this condition. Both claims were paid within 14 days of receipt straight into my bank. So far so good can't fault it

Claim made very easy by vet completing all of the technical medical history, adding details of charges and sending off claim form for us. Next thing I knew was when Pet Plan contacted me to tell me they were crediting the reimbursement direct to my bank. Thank you

This was the first time I've made a claim. I was impressed by how easy it was to access and use the website. I found it easy to find, download and print the Claim Form. The form was simple and straight forward. I filled in my and my pet's details and basic information about her health problem. I handed the form into the vets and they filled the medical details and sent it off for me. I'm pleasantly surprised how quickly the claim has been paid, less than 3 weeks since I gave it to the vet.

I received a letter asking for more details relating to my claim, as listed on reverse of letter. Nothing listed on reverse, so I emailed the address given asking what the problem was, and telling you not to make the payment into the usual account, which was being closed. I gave details of the new account. Then I received an identical letter, so I rang up, was told the payment was going through, to the old account, so again I gave details of the new numbers, but now I find the payment has been made into the defunct account. It will either bounce or go to a holding account. Has it bounced yet? I have never had a problem before, and always prompt payments, with no queries. I can understand why I got two letters asking for information, but not saying what they wanted. Not up to your usual standard, and where is the payment now?

Thank you very much. Apologies for my late reply to your generous payment for the main part of Basil's treatment, but I forgot to check in my spam folder. I so appreciate your help in times like this. I also thought that your accompanying letter was so nice too. I am happy to say that Basil, is now doing great. We did have to have some follow up visits with our local vet after he licked an area, not his wound, so maybe his nerve endings were sending confused signals to him. We are back at East Neuk hospital two week today and are very optimistic that they too will be pleased with him and we continue to follow their instructions for his aftercare, giving him gentle exercise with lots of cage rest.

The only problem I encountered was getting a claim form, I could not download one, nor print one off, and it took two phone call requests to actually get one.Other wise the service, and payment return sytem is absolutley brilliant, and I recommend Petplan to anyone

I appreciate my cat is an old lady with thyroid problems + high blood pressure (we'll ignore the dementia + deafness!!!) + I have had several claims for tests + medication, but my premiums do seem to go up by quite a bit each year. The pensioner's discount of £6 a year is laughable really---50p a month!!! However you do process claims very quickly + efficiently and I would use Petplan again if I have another cat.

Unfortunately our elderly dog has ongoing epilepsy and arthritis which cannot be cured but pleased to say both conditions managed well by our super vets. Have needed to lodge claims for last 5 years and each claim dealt with speedily and efficiently. Feel lucky to have chosen Petplan.

Claiming is very straight forward and rarely any questions asked. Prompt to pay out and providing your pet rabbit is under 5, the excess is very reasonable. There are a couple of treatments/medicines that petplan won't pay out for, even though they are actually treatments and medicinal, this is very frustrating. It seems that rabbits are not so well understood and therefore cover isn't as wide as it should be.

My lurcher suffered a leg injury in early January, and was well tended to by my vets. I paid my vets' costs in full, and they submitted my claim to Petlan on my behalf. I was impressed by Petplan's quick response, with an e-mail to me on 21st January, 2017 from Wynne Hamilton, Claims Manager of Petplan, giving a concise breakdown of the claim and excess, and confirming that my bank account is to credited in the next days.

The fact that the policy covers advertising and reward is amazing in itself really- I didn't know this until my cat went missing so it was good to find out and meant I couldn't hire a company to help me advertise for him. The people on the phone weren't very helpful though- when I asked about offering an award the lady just kept saying " it must be agreed in advance..." but she didn't tell me how to agree an amount, which was obviously what I was trying to do! Then when I rang again after my cat was found to ask again about the reward they told me it was too late as the cat was back! So that meant I couldn't claim the money I gave for the reward back.

I have felt secure and happy that Frankie was covered by your excellent scheme. However, you have settled a claim for me both to myself and to Pride Veterinary Hospital. My claim form and theirs advised you that Frankie had died in their care. Whilst I had a lovely letter from yourselves, the e-mail for the claim ended wishing Frankie good health which was a little upsetting when I read it. Please don't print this review of you feel it's not necessary.

My Dog is insured with Pet Plan for Life Policy. Sadly he has developed Arthritis but the Laser treatment has revolutionised his mobility, lameness and relieved his pain. I am very pleased that Pet Plan pay for the laser treatment and I have been told that the Insurance cost does not go up if you make claims. I have insured all my dogs with PAWS which became Pet Plan for over 20 years. I have had my claims dealt with quickly and found them to be compassionate when my dogs have passed away. I and my 2 dogs are very Happy customers.

Insurance of all types is a transaction based on risk. Pet Plan are not being mean - they know that the risk for insuring an older bet is orders of magnitude higher than a younger pet. Same for Health Insurance Plans like PPP, the older you get the more likely a expensive claim will hit. Insurance underwriters have to make a profit for their shareholders and syndicate members. If you think of insurers as bookies that makes more sense and is exactly what they are. Pet Plan will take premiums for many thousands of pets, theoretically the younger pets will be more numerous and pay for the older pets - so the premiums remain low. In reality when pet insurance is in place the visits by pet owners for minor problems increase as do vet bills and costs to the insurers. Insurers like Pet Plan (who are just brokers really) do not keep more than a few % of the risk and premiums, they buy re-insurance from specialists who in turn buy re-insurance ans do on to the total risk is spread far and wide - bookies call this "laying off bets". The premiums are therefore set by actuaries and underwriters on a massive scale not by Pet Plan or Admiral or any other sales brokerage. ie Pet Plan have virtually no control they just quote premiums, and take commissions.
