“Not user friendly”

Spent nearly 2 hours trying to convert some vouchers. Far too complicated and still wont work. Seems like its designed so you cant get the deals advertised. Wont bother in the future its not worth the messing around. Will shop less at Tesco because of this.

“Used to be good now it's rubbish.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Felix222 on 19/10/2016

I used to shop daily with Tesco and the Clubcard deals were great. I used to save them all up and use them when the boost came in November. I'd get two time the value and buy toys for the kids. The double up for Tesco Direct is now finished and it's a load of rubbish. There are no days out deals near us in Scotland and we seldom get the chance to eat out. We don't use Denby kitchen ware either! Extremely disappointed with the Clubcard so have now started shopping with Sainsburies and the nectar card is much better. I've shopped with Tesco for many years but I've stopped a couple of months ago and now won't shop there again.

Exchanged mine for Aagrah vouchers & after 4 days of trying to book a table with the telephone number we were given I finally rang Tesco who couldn't have cared less!!! As the girl said it was no longer the responsibility of Tesco, in other words they are misleading people. So from now on we Will not be shopping at Tesco -DO NOT LIKE THERE ATTITUDE.

“Misleading and your review if Critical will be rejected!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 327Arsenault on 24/03/2016

Like others tried to use my boost vouchers for a hotel with one of the Tesco preferred partners. It's when you phone the hotels contact reservations line dedicated for Tesco customers your disappointment begins. Yes The hotels NOT participating listed but in a not well presented layout adding to your frustration. Many other obstacles will be used to prevent you booking such as no pets, time of stay, hotel now not accepting Tesco vouchers. Example of lack of availability with this scheme only 1 hotel in Scotland accepted Tesco vouchers for payments and accepted pets. I tried to post factual review of my experience on Clubcard Boost site each time I was told it was referred for moderation,no bad language, no expletives, but critical. Each time review rejected with no moderation. Resubmitted 3 times rejected 3 times. Hence my warning to you hear! If it's too good to be true it probably is £10 voucher for £30 hotel worth pointless if because of so many restrictions and obstacles unable to use.

“The dwindling choices for clubcard rewards”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 23/02/2016

As a previous Tesco devotee, I always used my clubcard points for villa holidays and magazine subscriptions, however over the last couple of years the value of the holiday rewards have dwindled to the extent that they are virtually useless. As for the magazine subscriptions, the choices have now been reduced to a few unknown magazines. Add this complaint to the increasingly reduced choice of foods offered for my home delivery, I am at the point of defection and intend to change supermarkets and get more for my money.

“Not able to use vouchers for hotels.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 376Shaffer on 13/02/2016

Tried to use clubcard vouchers for a 2 night hotel stay York. There are several hotels in York that are part of chains included in the clubcard voucher scheme. All of them transferred me to a premium rate line, wasted about 5 minutes telling me useless information and then told me there was no availability on the dates requested. I knew from the hotels own websites that all had availability. A frustrating waste of time. Booked a nice B&B instead.

“With Tescos Clubcard Boost we had £75 to spend. We...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Howeiz469 on 23/11/2015

With Tescos Clubcard Boost we had £75 to spend. We decided to buy Best Western vouchers and proceeded to book the Scores Hotel St Andrews. It cost us £109 per night. So we paid £34 difference. When we arrived at hotel to Check-in the price on the check-in slip was £71.50. So why were we charged £109 for a £71.50 room? I will be phoning to find out. The hotel said there would have been an admin fee.......what.....costing £37.50? I dont want ppl to be tricked like we were. UNHAPPY TESCOS CUSTOMER.

“Going to go to Asda instead. ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 1980Vaughn on 10/08/2015

Having seen a pair of boots in the Carlisle store I decided to use £10 worth of clubcard vouchers and using Boost doubled up to the required amount of £20. When I got to the till with the rest of my shopping the boots were put through and I handed over the Boost voucher slips. I was told that for some reason the till would not recognise them. The Supervisor was called and she said that the only way they could deal with the problem was to get £20 cash from the customer services till which she did. In the meantime I paid for the shopping by my debit card (which included the £20 for the boots) and expected to then be refunded the £20. When the Supervisor came back the staff member gave me the £20 upon which the Supervisor said that the £20 was to pay for the boots and took it back off me again. On checking my receipt I found that I had paid £20 (Full price) for the boots through my debit card and had also paid again with the £20 which the Supervisor had taken off me. Some Club card Boost that turned out to be. Won't be shopping at tesco again as the only reason I shopped there at all was for the club card points and if I'm going to be ripped off when I spend them it's just not worth it.

“No rooms.com”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Veryuhappy on 27/04/2015

Towards the end of last year tried to book a one night stay at the Hilton, Manchester airport. Told that there where no rooms available on Tesco Clubcard deal. Have tried again to book a one night stay at the Hilton at Gatwick, this time for one night stay at the end of November (seven months time). Once again told that there wasn't any rooms available on Tesco Clubcard deals. It appears that there may be only one room for deal customers or maybe not any. The reservation desk were very cautious in what they said. They did say there was plenty of rooms available off the Tesco deals rates. Why not just remove the hotel deals from the web site? I wouldn't give this service any stars if that was an option

“ANOTHER TESCO RIPOFF”

★☆☆☆☆

written by barringtonr on 07/02/2015

We have just been ripped off again by Tesco Clubcard. After the fiasco with the Chef & Brewer vouchers, the last thing we expected was to have problems with the Hungry Horse vouchers - how wrong we were! Firstly, the vouchers were to come within 30 mins of the first email, they didn't. Secondly, when they did arrive we found that the restaurant was unable to accept them because their till would not recognise them. A complete waste of time and another Tesco Rip Off!

I thought these rewards were "Loyalty" rewards. If this is how they treat "Loyal" customers, what chance have the general public?

“Rubbish choices”

written by Puds58 on 28/03/2014

I used to shop at Tesco Droylsden all the time, but these days I can hardly ever get what I want For the last two weekends I've tried to get a nice piece Pork but they haven't had any nice pieces If I go to Asda or Morrisons they've always got a great choice , so that's where I'll be going from now on. And about the club card points if I was you,you should keep a check on them because some of mind Didn't get added on, and why if you spend £50 on Petrol do you only get 25 points instead of the Full 50!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Goodbye Tesco

“What a shamble. ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Wonkysei on 27/03/2014

I normaly never bother to write reviews about anything, but in this I feel obliged to do for the product it refers to is in my opinion really really bad, and it has to be the worst so called points rewards system in the country, it's simply useless as it takes forever for your points to acumulate in the fist instant, and then you can't spend those very hard to get points when you want as your in fact restricted with how and when you can use your points, a total shamble that's pretty much like a mucks fingers to the people using this card, stay away and aim to collect nectar points instead as you will get rewarded adequately when doing so. Tesco ought to revamp their loyalty points systems of they will risk loosing many customers like myself and many other I'm sure.

“Rip off”

★☆☆☆☆

written by dlSampson241 on 22/03/2014

Please refrain from using tesco club card. Most of the rewards via tesco will cost you more than going direct to the store or the company. Not only do the staff pass you from pillar to post but tesco appear from the media and personal experience to be ripping people off from every angle. I have reverted back to asda... You are better off without a reward system when prices are that high! And they cannot reward you adequately enough

“Poor return for Clubcard Points”

★☆☆☆☆

written by RabF on 21/03/2014

I have just tried to book a hotel with Tesco Clubcard and am appalled at the quality and availability on offer. From the days of Tesco being a brand leader with its loyalty card it has steadily eroded to the point that I no longer would consider going to Tesco with their Clubcard as a loyalty option. 4 hours to try to book a hotel with no success. Choice limited and contrived in the extreme and a booking system out of the ark, poor does not describe the service and options available.

“Very Poor Customer Service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by jinx123 on 06/12/2013

I called the customer service team when I was having trouble registering an online account to be able to view my clubcard points. The first man I spoke took my email address and told me within the next 24 hours I should have no difficulty registering....well I was still having difficulties 3 days later...I then called again. The lady told me it was mu server and that it was the cookies that I was 'allowing'. Now I may be 26 but I'm not too clued up on how to stop these. It was the 'hurry up and get off my phone' attitude that she had that upset me. Anyway, after playing around with my computer a little more with no avail I started to become quite annoyed It would still not allow me to register. So I ring them yet again, a lady then says its because I am trying to register the clubcard number on my credit card which is supposedly different to my actual clubcard number....it would have been nice if someone had told me that in the first place. As I was regsitering it whilst on the phone to her she started talking amongst her colleagues about TV programmes.. she was talking away. Then she started talking to her colleagues about another customer and his clubcard issues. I could not believe she was doing this whilst delivering me 'customer service'. Again, she was very abrupt and also had a 'get off the phone' attitude. I work in a call centre myself. I would not dream of having a chat with my colleagues whilst on the phone to a customer. Let alone talk about another customer. Very poor service indeed Tesco. Very disappointed.

“Are tesco reward hotel rooms rarer than hens teeth?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Ryan2002 on 29/09/2013

Tried to book a hotel in London before Xmas, nearest one was Heathrow or Luton? (Handy locations for a city break - not). Well, maybe London is busy at that thine of the year so tried Liverppol in January & February - also no availability???? What's the point in swapping points for £330 of hotel vouchers if I cannot book anywhere? Complete rubbish and bordering on fraud in my opinion - no worth the vouchers they are printed on! Would give no stars for vfm if I could.....

“That one star is a minus”

★☆☆☆☆

written by lonestar292 on 07/08/2013

Why do they let somebody at my previous address, with a different name cash in points that I have gained? When I did update my details they said that would reimburse the points and send me a new card, 2 months ago. Nothing. Latest points that I have gained have also not been sent to me and I know the latest vouchers have been dispatched. Customer Care? CUSTOMER CARE DON'T CARE. No more Tesco for me. Diabolical.

It would appear sadly NO If you read terms and conditions they are not transferable only valid for named party. My suggestion contact Clubcard explain circumstances why named person cannot go they may refund your Legoland voucher back into Clubcard Boost points meaning at worst your visit is deferred until a later date so that the Clubcard member can go.There not transferable for a reason as many Clubcard customers could of course make £££ by of course selling or transferring the voucher. It is after all a benefit for the Clubcard customer. It's a pain but good luck I've found Tesco Customer Care staff really helpful the more open and honest you are. Deferring your day out maybe the only solution but at least your vouchers not lost.
