“Failed to remove paid in full acount from credit report”

★★☆☆☆

written by krejciko on 21/09/2017

pre approved for a loan with best egg. funding took longer then expected but overall pretty easy. however it all went down hill after I decided to pay the account in full. It took bestegg 4 months to show "paid in full" on my credit report. I contacted the company originally 30 days after I paid the account off in full and they would not tell me why it still showed on my report. not until I filed disputed with my credit reporting agencies were they forced to remove the loan from my credit report. huge inconvenience and because of this I would suggest taking your business elsewhere.

“Excellent Experience ”

★★★★★

Quick and Painless. Everything including interest rate, loan origination fee, etc. clearly explained up front in advance of accepting loan. I was approved for more money and at a lower interest rate than any other company I applied with. I would highly recommend them. I think the people giving poor reviews aren't thoroughly paying attention and reading the fine print before posting bad reviews

“Misleading claims”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Masseyyt104 on 08/08/2016

I too have an excellent credit score. Asked for 15,000.00 for 3 years. They quoted me 13.99%. If anyone was given the 4.99% they advertise I would like to here from them. I seriously doubt there is anyone. I think they should not be able to use 4.99% in their advertising. It is defiantly a bait and switch. I'm going somewhere else.

“I, too, received the offer in the mail from Best Egg...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 06/05/2016

I, too, received the offer in the mail from Best Egg with a potential low rate of 4.99%. I requested the full $40,000 and they came back with an amount of $35,000 but at an APR of 9.17%. Now, some details about me. I am fully employed, make over $250K per year, have a credit score in the 800's and their offer to me is nearly DOUBLE their come-on offer. Not sure who qualifies for the lower 4.75% but it obviously isn't someone with my details. Oh...also...never late in the past who knows how many years on any payment. Never declared any bankruptcy, clean credit report. I feel badly for people that get their hopes up. For me...I have lots of options and don't need Best Egg. Was just see if it is "real" and it ISN'T. (Actually, I didn't think the 4.99% was all that good!) Good luck if you decide to move forward.....

Never ending pre-selected, pre-approved mail from them offering interest rates of 5.5 to 7% until you go through the process and find out they want to charge you 27%.

went through a bankruptcy 7 yrs ago due to medical bills. trying to build my credit and its tough when you only make 34000/yr. interest rate is up there but... I am concentrating on increasing my credit score. Shawn was great to work with!! He was very calm, I didn't feel pressured to move ahead. Much appreciated!

“Misrepresented Offer - Don't do it”

★☆☆☆☆

written by DixieKehoe115 on 15/02/2016

I received a preapproved offer for $40,000 at a low rate. Applied and was then only approved for $10,000 at 29%. Why would anyone do such a thing. I only wanted to consolidate some debt and do some home improvements but not at this rate. My current credit cards are nowhere near this rate so why would I consolidate. Also there is a $500.00 processing fee, etc. Just a bait and switch to get my information I guess. Not what the preapproval offered, by the way I have good credit so this was not some bad credit attempt to get a loan.

“Bad Egg”

★☆☆☆☆

written by expert1349 on 05/02/2016

I wanted to give a neutral review of this company. I have a credit score of 800 so I can pick and choose who I want to use. I was interested in getting a rate quote from this company because they sent me a preapproved letter every other week. I could not get a straight answer from them so I went with Discover Loans an hour after talking to them and got a great rate. Unfortunately they got my phone number and sold it to every business you don't want. Some good advise if you have good credit. Run from these guys. Anyone asking for a fee is a red flag. Go with a reputable Business.

“High rates/ offer said 4.9 ya right!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Randall192 on 20/11/2015

So got this pre approved deal in the mail and said 4.9 rates. So I'd like to consolidate my debt. Sounded great ! So went through the process which was quick and approved me but at 18.99% . So at that rate why would You do it???? I make 100000 grand a year with 25000 debt . Cc is 9.9 and rv is 5.9. So 18.99% doesn't help anyone . Just waiting to see if checking on my pre approved thing hits my credit for checking. Says it doesn't so we shall see. I'll up date if it does hit credit !!!

“Loan went through, but had some headache.”

★★★☆☆

written by KylieMcKinley on 09/10/2015

I received a mail flyer, called, and was not satisfied with the rate quoted. I asked to be deleted and was told it would take a month for that to go through. About 3 weeks later another flyer came in and I decided to try the online process. I was quoted $17,000 loan at 4.99% for 3 years. Great. I realized that after their fee, I actually wanted $18,000. I called to try and change that. It couldn't be changed without a second pull which would affect my credit unless I waited an additional 21 days. I decided to just go with the $17,000. I had to send my last 2 paystubs....and they were very specific....I accidentally sent the 2 before my last and had to resend. They also wanted my W-2. I used disability for some of my income, so they needed my VA letter, and a bank statement showing the income. I also had to send either a 1099 or my 1040 tax papers. Getting all the exact paperwork they needed in was painful. It took 3 tries to get right and the callback didn't happen from their end. All in all, the loan did go through at the quoted rate, and it only took about 4 days to receive the money. However, they asked for a lot of documented information, customer service was hit or miss depending on which time I called, and I also never really received an email or acceptance letter. I had to sign in online with after the money arrived in my account to find the info. I found this shady. I took screenshots as evidence in case something changes, but I don't have official documentation either by email or snail mail.

“Would Never Do Business With Best Egg”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Jordanum315 on 02/10/2015

I received a pre-approval letter for an unsecured personal loan through Best Egg. The letter stated that I could qualify for a loan up to $25,000 with an interest rate as low as 6.99%. I had been contemplating consolidating my credit card debt and thought this was the perfect opportunity to do so. I called Best Egg for a $5,000 loan and was approved but at an interest rate of 21%, DOUBLE the interest rate of my credit cards. I declined. I then applied for a loan in the same amount through Discover loans and was approved with an interest rate of 6.99% (their best rate). I don't understand why there was such a big difference in the rates I was offered between the two companies and am glad I knew better than to proceed with the loan through Best Egg. My suggestion to anyone interested in doing business with them is to look around.

“Deceptive Lending Practices and awful customer service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AngelShort430 on 24/09/2015

I submitted a prequalified loan application with Best Egg My initial application (debt consolidation) was for $25,000 although they counter-offered with a $10,000 approval (at an astonishing 28.99% interest rate for a 5 year term with a $307 monthly payment). Upon completion, a copy of my passport and voided check were sent (as requested). That afternoon, I received a call from one of their representatives asking to verify some personal information (including data from my credit report), he immediately proceeded by calling my financial institution to confirm my checking account number (among other questions) and told me that since the copy of my passport uploaded on their website wasn't legible, I had to submit it again via email (which I immediately did). The following day I started receiving emails reminding me that supporting documentation had not been submitted to complete my loan application and have the funds disbursed. I kept calling Best Egg and no one seemed to know what was happening, other than the fact that my loan was on final review and no additional documentation was needed. Today (9 days after my application) I checked the status online and noticed it had been declined for “insufficient documentation” (what?)... I immediately called the 800 number (yet again) and requested to speak to a supervisor; I am not sure why since he didn't know what had really happened. Instead, he graciously suggested I waited for a letter within the next 7-8 business days with an explanation of my denial. I have to say, that besides the lack of knowledge, miscommunication and poor customer services of this company, what shocked me the most, was the incoherence and misleading/deceptive practices enforced by Best Egg (and the creditors backing their services). I was very disappointed and obviously affected by the "false" insinuation (as per the final decision and communication provided) that my loan had been approved. I will NOT (X 1MM) RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE (FRIEND OR FOE)

“nothing available at this time”

Rejected, I have worked my entire life and can not get out of debt. Always pay my bills on time and go without just to pay bills. Why send these Pre-Approved forms out when I always get rejected. It is very disappointing.

I applied for a loan sent documents that were requested. I keep receiving phone calls but I cannot understand the message because of my hearing loss. Is there a way to connect with Best Egg by email? When I enter my email address there is no record of my loan.

You can certainly apply regardless of the letter you received. In my experience I wouldn't waste your time though. I haven't heard anything good about this company. My "pre-approved" offer was apparently a joke, I was declined and there should have been no reason.

I had a foreclosure 4 years ago and since then I have been on time on all my loans. I opened a couple of credit cards to start establishing my credit once again. Would a person that had a bankruptcy qualify?
