“Perfect for us”

★★★★☆

written by ChrisLambert2601 on 17/08/2013

My partner and I stayed at Travelodge Queen Street Cardiff for five nights and could not have been more pleased. As my partner is disabled, we need a room with proper facilities for a wheelchair user, and the room we had was just perfect. Plenty of space for her to move around and a bathroom that was properly designed and safe. (Unlike the hotel run by another firm in Blackpool where she had to reverse out of the room and turn round in the passageway then reverse back in as there was no space, and go without a shower for five days since the handrails in the bathroom rattled when she grabbed them). The staff were very helpful when we needed anything so top marks to them. Being in the City centre there was some noise at night, but we were warned by the website before booking that this would be the case. Overall we had a really good stay and felt comfortable and safe.

“Good friendly staff, rooms clean basic comfort.”

★★★★☆

written by on 15/05/2013

We were a family group including Grandparent, special needs child,Elderly dog 16yrs and coordinator(MUM).Location good for what we wanted to do. The rooms clean, basic in need of some TLC. The staff friendly very helpful. Would chose the location again as the rooms backed on to a residential road so no major road noise, which was was one of my concerns when looking for a hotel, as a lot are located on major road routes. The travelodge will provide a breakfast from the front desk to your room. This lodge is next to,not part of the same company Toby(Food Terrible)and that was the judgement of a special needs child who loves food, okay for a drink, breakfast passable. Coach & Horses or Harvester better options, plus because the staff get complaints about the Toby food they have takeaway menus, that deliver!

“happiness”

I stayed at the Edinburgh central travelodge for 7 days from 11th of september to 18th of September. The breakfast was lovely and cater for all tastes wither be a cooked breakfast or a cold one.The room was always clean and tidy and the bin was empty daily even on saturday and Sunday. You even got clean towels everyday if you want them. The staff were very helpful and if you need extra teabags or coffee that would give it to you and sugar and little cartons of milk. I only had to make two complaints and they sorted both complaints with no trouble at all. Travelodge caters for any stay wether be a week or a couple of days and cater for large parties and families or groups or a couple. The only gripe I have is the traffic noise was loud day and night.

“Cheap & (reasonably) Cheerful”

★★★★☆

written by on 28/05/2012

I stayed at the Travelodge at Scotch Corner 3 weeks ago. OK it's not the Ritz, but it cost me £27.00 which is great value for 2 adults and 2 kids. The accommodation isn't the best, but in terms of value per pound spent it pretty amazing. The rooms are clean(ish) and the beds are comfy. OK, I've done a fair bit of travelling so I'm ready to slum it, but I think it would be acceptable to most people with common sense (given what you pay)

“A friendly Travelodge”

★★★★☆

written by Janf on 29/02/2012

This hotel had super helpful staff and had more character than new ones as they had not destroyed all the assets of previous owners ( Innkeepers ). The staff could not do enough to ensure our family (6 Adults, 4 children ) were happy and had all we needed. Bedrooms comfortable EXCEPT they had removed the comfortable chair and little table which meant I had to sit on an upright chair when I was looking after my grandchildren later in the evening. There were extra towels if needed, extra pillows, and milkwas available at 6.00 in the morning when I needed a cup of tea. They had carefully put us all together 0n the ground floor - 5 bedrooms, easy access with small children. The staff,s kindness made our stay a delight.

bathroom very clean and all working.bed clean too.tv worked with an excellent picture and the room generally was spacious and clean. lack of pillows the only down side but thats the guests who take them not the fault of the hotel.yes, i feel this was value for money for a convenient overnight stay, and would have stayed longer if needed.

“Can't beat the price”

★★★★☆

written by on 17/08/2011

I stayed at this hotel when traveling to London to accompany my parents to the airport. I booked in advance so it only costed me £29. When we arrived at KingsX only walked a couple of mintues to get to the hotel. It was a few mins early than the check in time but the receiptionist let us to go to the room anyway. The room was ok, reasonable clean. IBut thought I booked twin room for me and my sis but got a double bed one instead. Only one night so wasn't bothered. I was pleased as my parents had a good of a couple hours rest before we departed to the airport. We didn't book for the breakfast as there were many cheaper options around hotel. I borrowed a hairdryer from the receiption but when I tried to use it in the morning it was burnt inside which was quite scary. I could see the red flame and smelled burning. When I took it back to receiption and told the lady at the receiption about the faulty hairdryer, she was very sympthsied of my 'ordeal' asking if I was ok and if I needed another one to dry my hair. So for £29 I think it was great, and for that price, there is no complain.

“A good stopgap hotel!”

★★★★☆

written by Kelly003 on 10/08/2011

Myself and OH stayed here for a night on the way upto Lincoln to pick new keys up for a uni house the next day. We paid twenty pounds (for two of us) for the night - this included free parking. Upon reaching our room, we were greeted by a very tidy, very clean, basic room, with tea and coffee making facilities, a TV and a bathroom with a very powerful shower! Towels were also provided, as were drinking glasses, and a bar of soap. Items such as toothbrush, paste, razor, shaving foam, shower gel etc were available from the vending machine downstairs. Minutes away from the main services, we decided to eat over there - I strongly recommend taking your own food for the night, as Burger King is extortionately overpriced (it cost us 21 pounds for 2 meals) and I wouldn't have touched the food at the Eat & Drink Co.! That's my only complaint about our stay. We were in a room which overlooked the moors at the back of the hotel - and had the pleasure of seeing all the rabbits in the early hours of the morning! We heard a little road noise (as expected) but it didn't disturb us in any way. They also allow a maximum of 2 pets to stay with you in your room (pets cost 25 each to cover any cleaning needed) I would not hesitate to book a room here again.

I will always go to this motel when we are in Lake Havasu area. For the price, it is unbeatable! The staff could not be more helpful. The room was large and comfortable, and the continental breakfast was great. Everything was clean and cool on the warm nites and we loved it.

“The hotel is in a great position for sightseeing and...”

★★★★☆

written by Mandi Federico on 27/04/2011

The hotel is in a great position for sightseeing and just being able to wander into town, however the amount of parking available to guests is minimal and if you do not get in early or if you have to go out by car and come back again, as we did, it is a nightmare to find suitable parking later on in the day. The streets around are pay and display and a maximum 2 hour stay and the public car park is chargeable from 7am every day. Our room was on the ground floor almost opposite the reception desk and very close to the bar/breakfast room and the floor in the reception area was not carpeted, so you could hear every footfall, every case being wheeled by and every doorbell ring when people were coming back late to the hotel without their key, as well as every conversation! The rest of the hotel was carpeted, so any light sleepers should request rooms elsewhere!

This hotel isn't as bad as some of the reviews i read. Its a perfect location for the beach. The resort & spa hotel across the street has access to the beach, tiki bar, pool etc. It was really fun, we left our room everyday and spent all out time at the resort. PPL paid $240 per night for their rooms across the street at the resort. There is also a winn dixie and mcdonalds across the street. We found out on the last day, that the bus service will take you anywhere u want to go for $4.00 per day pass. We could have went to the casino...darn. There were no bugs in the rooms, in fact orkin was there spraying so i felt comfortable because they were doing some preventitive maintenance in advance. Now the outside apperance and when u first walk into your room (outdated) almost scared us, but we felt very comfortable after about an hour or so. Like i said for the money, its perfect, if your a beach person, you can go right across the street (make sure and ask at the hotel lobby which resort it is) there were several across the street.

Excellent 2 night stay here. Hotel is easy to find and is very nice throughout. Room sparse but well maintained and modern. Freezing temperatures outside but staff thoughtfully turned heater on so room was warm on arrival. Nice decor. Very clean bedding and bathroom. All towels and tea/coffee provided. As usual, one or two other guests not as quiet as me but no problems and would recommend highly. I would like to have known if there was a bath in the room as was looking forward to one but a shower sufficed.

“Stayed for one night 23/08/2010. ”

★★★★☆

written by on 03/09/2010

Stayed for one night 23/08/2010.
The room was clean and tidy, with a double bed, shower, tv and kettle.
Our only complaint against the room, was that it was warm and there was no air conditioning.
We had a room facing the East India road and although it was noisy, it didn't wake us until 8am.
We didn't have any food, but some of our party had the breakfast and said it was fine.
Had a couple of drinks at the hotel bar, £4 for a bottle of cider, which I think is a bit pricey.
Customer service was good and the car park attendant brilliant.
The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from the Docklands Light Railway and it always felt safe to return to at night.
Very happy with our night there and will use again.

written by on 26/08/2010

Overall the stay was very good, the room was clean, with comfy beds! We didnt eat at the hotel we just went to the local Chinese take away for tea, the hotel did supply us with plates, but you had to ask for them from reception, they seemed reluctant to give you them.
As we werent from round that area, we didnt have a clue where we were going or how to get into the centre of London. So we asked the locals and they were all very friendly and helpful and pointed us in the write direction. The only problem was that the hotel staff didnt speak that much english so it was hard for them to understand where we wanted to go, as there is a big market on at Kempton racecourse, they didnt have a clue what we were on about. But that was the only fault of our time away.

I hope you find this review helpful :) x

I had bought a bottle of Jim Beam and put it in my room at 1:30pm on 4/23 2014.I returned to my room at 6:30pm took a shower and then opened the icebox to make me a drink. To my surprise the bottle was 1/3 gone. When I told the owner what had happened he told me that none of his staff drank, I told him that someone had been my room and I did not care if his staff drank or not. What I want to know is what is Travelodge is going to do about?
