“Terrible company”

Returned a faulty item which was collected by courier 4 weeks later still not credited to my account. Saying the item is missing and I must have tracking code from the courier which I do not have so will not credit item back to my account although it is showing as item being collected on my account. Customer service is a joke and 10p per minute. AVOID this company!!

“The worst customer service in the world!”

Terrible customer service, emailed them regarding a problem with an order and just recieved a reply saying "Thanks for your comments, we hope to continue providing such a high level of customer service in the future" unbelievable! There are lots of other better, cheaper catalogues available so dont bother with Freemans.

“customer service bunch of muppets”

its rather simple customer service if you can call thyem that simply have no idea AT ALL..wrong information, there notes systems not updated accordingaly, staff lie. managers do not have a clue. just dont bother with them, go somewhere else

“Uncommunicative”

I attempted to register on the website and order an item, I received a confirmation email after doing so, tried to log in a day later to track my order and was told that I couldn't "due to my status". I contacted customer service (a very misleading job description)by email, and received no reply so I wasted my time and money further by calling them. I waited on the phone for ages listening to pseudo classical music only to be told I had not been accepted. In the most patronising tone humanly possible I was informed they had sent me an email, when I informed the "gentleman" on the phone that I was well aware of how to check my email and had never received one, he told me he would "look into it" and then he put the phone down on me. Without a doubt the worst service I have ever received, if you need professional, friendly and reliable service you should probably stick with Littlewoods.

“Shocking, unprofessional, don't care”

Not even worth one star, shocking, was meant to be with me on 12th as was my partners birthday yesterday no one told Me there was a delay so I just called up and they said oh sorry but you won't get it till mid next month! They don't care and they even took the money out my account twice!

“Very low credit limit”

I have been with freeman's probably for 1-2 years and initially i got a £100 credit limit upon opening the account and its still stayed like this over a year later...they have never increased it. I asked them about whether they can increase my limit but i was told that i had to show a good payment history and using account regularly....now can i tell you i never missed a payment and i sometimes paid in full each month! There's not much you can purchase on their website for £100 either. All i have bought it bracelets and cheap clothes and paying it off to try and increase limit but n they wont increase. I wanted to take benefit of the buy now pay later option but whats the point with only £100. The there is the fiasco of the kids toy i bought, it was a wooley and tig spider which by the way was way more expensive than any where else and after ordering it it says it would be delivered in december when i had ordered in august!!!!! so i emailed to cancel and complain and i got an email saying it had been delayed and then showed on my account as item out of stock but someone (not me) had re ordered the toy via telephone!! when i flippin cancelled!!! Its a shame because its good that you can pay over 5 months with no interest which i love but have no good limit on my account.

“Expensive compared to other Catalogues”

I have been with Freeman's for a year and paid on time but they still haven't raised my credit although they said they would. They are far more expensive than other Catalogues. They also do not allow you to cancel an order. I put an order in and an hour later realised I had made a mistake. I rang Freemans and explained I had just put an order in and wanted to cancel and order a different item but they told me they could not cancel, even though the delivery would not be for 5 days and couldn't have possibly left the warehouse yet and they could have cancelled it, but they refused and said I would have to refuse delivery. So I had to wait for it to be delivered and then wait while they took it back and credit my account for me to order again. I am with another Catalogue and if I make a mistake I can cancel as long as the item has not left the warehouse. Freeman's are very infexible.

“Good Experience ”

I'm starting to rebuild my credit so I can obtain a mortgage and Freemans were the one of the few that would give me a chance. They may not be the cheapest around, but you get it delivered to your door with flexible monthly payments, with Freemans forking out the capital to purchase the product. 5*

“Don't bother ”

I have shopped with freemans for years and have accepted the vastly inflated prices for the benefit of being able to pay monthly when I have needed to buy something ie washing machine, fridge etc. I have had a letter from them telling me that the apr in purchases I have already made is going up !!!. I accept that they can put the apr on future purchases but surely putting it up on things you've had and can't send back is moving the goalposts a bit. I emailed them to voice my displeasure and have had a letter back saying we can do this legally so tough, basically. Legal doesn't mean moral!. Luckily I am in a position where I can afford to make the opt out interest free payments which clearly I will be doing until the balance is cleared and I can severe my ties with this morally dubious company. However, my concern is for people who can't afford to do that, people on low incomes who have bought something in good faith thinking they know what their financial commitment is going to be and then get a letter saying the apr is going to increase when it's too late to send it back. My advice is shop elsewhere, you're likely to find the product cheaper and you won't get ripped off. If you do have to use freemans then make sure you can afford the interest free opt out payment but I seriously would stay away from them and try littlewoods instead.

“wost cataloge”

freemans is the worst catalouge i have known. they are most unreliable and you never get what you order. i have been with then for 25 years and have slowly given you less and les credit even though you have been a good payer and in credit i wouldnt recomend then to any one they are hopless

My wife was a Freemans 'catalogue agent' for many years up to the mid 1990s (can't remember which year) and she dumped them due to some hassle or other.

So in the at least 14 years(minimum), their sevice seems to have got steadily worse and it's all a great shame as they were once a super organisation to deal with.

In short, you have reviewed them correctly.

“A NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH”

They give you discount to get you to order THEN FIND A REASON TO TAKE IT AWAY WHEN YOU CAN’T SEND THE GOODS BACK FORCING YOU TO PAY THE HIGHER PRICE. Their sizing is not true causing more grief. Prices are high. VERY BAD ATTITUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE E MAILS AND YOU HAVE TO PAY NEARLY £2 TO CALL THEM EACH TIME TO GET FOBBED OFF. Delivery is long and unpredictable. Heard plenty of complaints from other people, but now I know from my own experience. FRUSTRATINGLY WASTE OF LOTS OF TIME.

“Freemans are our idiots”

It seems to me that you just MIGHT get what you order if you order one item at a time. The munchkins from planet Freemans only have one finger and one hand. so if you order more than one thing they get terriby confused and TOTALLY MUCK UP YOUR ACCOUNT BECAUSE THEY CAN'T COUNT UP TO TWO!!!!!!! I orderd multiple items and they sent me the wrong stuff. They left out items and charged me for them. as a result they have now overcharged be by 49.00 for stuff I did not order but received and then returned. Now I have to provide them proof of postage which just adds to the inconvenience. But I will do it so I can have the satisfaction of telling them what a load of thick, idle, stupid, people they employ who pick goods for packing.

I ordered a bikini as i was desperate to get a new pair before my upcoming holiday. this was my first order with freemans and i am overall very happy, i got my item faster then i expected and after trying it on, i was so pleased. “Not kept informed!!”

i made an account with freemans and placed an order to pay by flex account (Monthly payments) . I received an email confirming my order and my account also confirmed my order would be with me in the next few days. I saw something else in the online catalogue i liked, so i tried to order it but i could not log in as it said my account was not yet created and would take 1 working day to finish being created. i knew something was up because i had made my account 3 days before. I emailed freemans and they had said my order was not processed as there was already an account at my address ( which was my mums). So not only was i annoyed that there cannot be more than one account for one home address ,but, they said my order was on the way and did not tell me it couldnt be processed and i could not have an account, I now have to order through my mums account. So, overall i would not recommend freemans. i gave two stars as i do like the freemans products and they respond fairly quick when contacting them.

on the 20/08 i ordered a blue ray player from freemans the next few day's the couirer said they had deliverd the item and i had signed for it the problem was it never came i did not sign for the item and no couirer even knocked at me door. now i am being told i have to wright to them and tell them this its a joke why in gods name did the couiere say i had recived this item and had signed for it and now i am at a loss as what to do.

“I have been shopping with Freemans for over 20 years...”

I have been shopping with Freemans for over 20 years and I think the quality of service and goods is generally very good. It is a lot more expensive to buy items because they are offering a free delivery service and interest free credit and these things cost the company money. I like the fact that my items have been delivered out of working hours as I am at work in the day.Over the twenty plus years I have been shopping with freemans I have been very pleased. However lately they seem to be slowly dispensing with the features I most liked - I have never paid interest and don't want to but recently my account was transferred to a flex account which has an opt out interest free option which i am unhappy with. It also does not appear to carry the 10% commission that the old account did. The interest is an massive 32% which is higher than many credit cards. If they do away with interest free and commission there will be nothing that singles them out for me.

“BEWARE OF BUY NOW PAY LATER SCHEME”

I have been with Freemans for a number of years now. However I find whenever I order from the catalogue the actual item is of poor quality when it arrives. I have had 2 particular incidences that have annoyed me so much I have now closed my account with this company. Firstly I returned an item that I purchased for £100. They sent their courier to pick it up and then it took me 2 months to get my account cleared. They obviously didn't pay any interest based on how long it took them to clear my account. I then made a purchase online using one of their buy now pay later codes. When I went through the site to pay it accepted the code and I thought nothing more of it,not expecting to have to pay until Oct. I have now been charged with late penalty payments because apparently the code cannot be used against the items I bought. Surely the system should have told me that at point of purchase??? Useless company, rude customer service probably because it's not a service they are providing. Be careful if you are going to use this gimmick!!!!

“worst catalogue ever”

i have been a freemans agent for 16 years noe and havent had any major problems up until now.i have spent thousands of pounds with them over the years.i now pay them £450.00 a month and anyone would know that entitles me to £45 pound commision. only this month when i received my statement it said commision earned was £25.00.when i contacted customer services about this they said the remainder of my commision had been used to pay off interest charges because i was only paying the minimum payment on my accounts.i dont understand this as the interest charges are still being charged to my accounts on my flex accounts so as far as i am concerned i am paying it twice'i have always payed the minimum payment and this has not happened before 'i wont be buying from them again and suggest other people to stay clear of them. total rip offs

“GO SOMEWHERE ELSE”

Freemans.com Customer Service So you may have an account, you pay what you’re supposed to, you even allow them to cock up your account when THEY mess up what accounts you've paid. Then you stupidly try to order. (Especially when they keep pushing a 20.12% discount) only to be told Nah! YOU can’t have it. If it was not for the fact of being one of those fortunate few that accounts still have commission, plus the 20% discount mentioned above - I actually thought the order I made was competitive. Or is that why they said no! Obviously it was too competitive They are expensive compared to the VERY's of this world, and I have, within the last few years been very selective of them. Mainly because they now don’t have the brands I buy, and there are other companies out there that I can now see offer better customer service. Now, I wont touch them and neither should you, Over 10 years I been with them only to be treated as a nobody, and remember when you have a complaint its a 10p per minute call. And boy they like to talk to their "other" non public facing departments when there's a problem. So they can sting you twice! You have been warned - Oh and don't forget Grattan is part of the group too!
