“Wow what a log flume”

The log flume ride at Thorpe park rocks. Well it did when I was younger.

All you do is turn round put your butties in your car or the lokecr and walk 2 minutes outside to eat it on a picnic area, if you saw what us staff find in some bags and pockets you'd be glad for a small delay in getting into the park and being searched. Weapons and drugs im sure you don't want round your children same with drunken tramps or stag/hen parties rampaging around in inappropriate attire when its a family park .

I have to say it was one of the worst theme parks I have ever been too. I Love roller coasters and big rides so I have visited allot. The surroundings were dirty as hell. there was a weird smell filling the park. I had two wait for AGES to get on rides. it was ridiculous.
I went with two friends for the day and well all agree. we came down from Manchester because we had heard it was really good. we were not impressed. WE ARE NOT GOING BACK THERE AGAIN. we have all agreed we are sticking to Blackpool pleasure beach. Which is undoubtedly the best theme park in Britain.
If any one is looking for a theme park to visit. this is the one.

written by hywel on 08/04/2011

I have been going to Thorpe Park for years and I have to say, although the rides are pretty good, the management of the place is very poor. It's scruffy, the website is complicated and misleading and the queues are simply appalling. The website says you can get in for £26 and than charges £39 when you go through the buying process. It says annual passes are a variety of rates, then charges £75 flat fee. The queue for annual passes this morning was over 2 hours long. If you want an annual pass and a day ticket - you have to join 2 seperate queues - this morning that would have been half the day waiting to get in. I couldn't get through to their call centre at all after waiting for 15 minutes - another £1.50 down the drain on their 0871 number. They come over as mean, money grabbers who care very little about their customers. I certainly won't be going back.

i think that the rides at Thorpe park are amazing i personly love the saw and the colossus so i would go on them they are soooooooooooo fun and the slides are also really fun when hot but some times if the queue is really long about two hours a lot of people go and buy a exit pass and then that queue is about 15 mins which is really quick compared to the two hour queue and i realy recommended going there because you will have loads of fun if you do go hope you go on colossus and saw and have a really fun time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My first visit to Thorpe Park for 5 years, and boy has it got tatty. I took my roller coaster mad 10 year old who luckily is just tall enough to do all the rides. The rides are undoubtedly exciting, although Samurai just made us both feel sick. However Stealth kept breaking down so massive queues as a result.

However the worst point is the atmosphere. The whole place is small for the number of rides, 3 minute walk across the whole park. A real concrete jungle, awful music blasting everywhere, you're assaulted by cheap fairground stall sellers trying to get extra money everywhere. Rubbish all over. Little landscaping. Old rides (like depth charge) which show no signs of being painted for years, a tatty beach area with puddles lying around.

Thorpe management should look at Disney or Alton Towers to see how to do a decent story and backdrop to their rides.

written by kellyannpow on 12/03/2011

I have Loved thorpe park on the 3 occasions that i have visited on. The rides are all themed excelently and all are fun and thrilling. There was one problem: The Queuing. Maybe it was because i visited in the summer time and there was alot of people there just like me, but waiting 2-3 hours at the most for one ride was murder! especially in the baking hot sun with no breeze haha!
Due to this my friends and I only managed to get on 4-5 rides, but it was enough in the end :)
When I purchased the tickets, there was 4 of us going and it was £39.60 EACH on the day, maybe we should have booked them on the website but we didnt unfortunately! =(
You can pay extra money for a fast track ticket that gets you on the main rides almost instantly, this is good but £4 for 1 ride, it certainly digs a hole in your wallet haha.
The food/drink in the park was fine, it was really well themed with the different lands in the park, and it wasnt to pricey either.
The best rides were - Stealth!, Colossus, Slammer and tidal wave. Tidal wave on a hot day is amazing!
Over all i would defiantly go to this park in the near future; with the new attractions like :Storm surge, Saw alive and saw alive, these will certainly be a winner with me and my friends and i hope you love thorpe park as much as i do! :)

thanks for reading

I went with my seven year old daughter and she is 1.2 meters tall. We found there was not many rides left for her height. The rides for the smaller children were removed to make room for yet another thrill seeker ride. This park is for teenagers and older I do not recommend it for young children you will run out of things to take them on by lunch time.

written by LAURENJAMES123 on 17/01/2011

i did have a great time with my family at thorpe park i cannot really fault the overall day staff were friendly, the food was well prepared in hygenic resturants, the only down side to the day was the que times but going in peak time this would be expected so for my next visit i may go in school term time. also i have three young children under school age who i took last time and would like to on my next visit however it is just very hard as when myself and my friends who also came wanted to go on the big rides we couldnt leave the children and it would be such a shame to leave them at home.

The rides are amazing, I have been 3 times now and have never had to que for longer than 45mins and this is because I bought tickets online got there around 20 mins early be one of the first in and then I go on the big rollercoasters first nemesis then saw and then colossus before going on any other ride as these have big cues during the day and I buy fast track for stealth and go only on the big rides agin at the end when everyone is leaving or buy fastracks. The only dissipointment is the prce of the food best thing to do is to get a pizza hut all you can eat buffet as this is the best price for food there. Overall it was a very good day. Worth going if you are into big rides.

“Went on 23rd October 2010 for my daughters 13th birthday. ”

★★★★★

written by Tafkar66 on 26/11/2010

Went on 23rd October 2010 for my daughters 13th birthday.

Had a nightmare trying to get in as the Tesco days out vouchers I had were not acceptable. Through no fault of Thorpe Park - however their customer service was excellent and I was offered 2 for 1 entry even though I didn't have any vouchers for this.

We got there at 9:15 and people already queueing to get in - so suggest everyone gets there around 9am to be at the front.

Park actually opened earlier than advertised and we were on our first ride at 9:55am.

Fantastic day. This was one of the Fright Night days and the park was open to 10pm. Absolutely excellent day out for the teenagers. The queues weren't too bad considering the number of people that were there. Don't think you would get around them all in the normal opening hours (normally shuts at 6pm) however the extended opening was perfect and we actually got on our favourite rides twice.

Not that some rides (especially SAW) are stopped if it rains - HOWEVER - here's a tip - don't leave the queue like everyone else - as soon as the rain actually stops falling they open up again.

The food is on par with what you expect to pay at theme parks - does hack me off a bit as it's not cheap to get in and then the food and drink is a lot. We took a back pack of snacks and just bought one main meal in the evening - Noodle Bar is fantastic.

TOP TIP - buy a refillable drink when you get these - only £6 (which sounds a lot) but you can share with your family and not buy another drink all day.

All in all a top day - but wouldn't go unless extended opening times so you get around all the rides.

written by Kellyyardy1981 on 02/11/2010

I thought thorpe park was great for the roller coasters although the saw ride and stealth both broke down whilst we were in the que, I felt the park overall was very run down and scruffy with lots if rubbish just thrown about even though there are bins everywhere, quite a bit of graffity on the fences whilst you wait in the ques, i'm not sure I would go again I much prefer Alton towers.

A great park with fun for all the family. We went during the Halloween season where they have extra attractions which were great fun. I'm glad the park has become more rollercoaster focused since my last visit, there is a nice selection now. I still think Alton Towers is the better park. The only downside was having to wait in queues all day, I understand this is inevitable in a park like this. There should be a solution for that though. More rollercoasters!

I absolutely loved it at thorpe park;i think it is amazing!! What i hated the most were the queues- we queued up for over an hour just to get into the park (what i would reccomend is to go out of school term times and not on a weekend.)Thorpe Park wasn't as big as i was expecting it to be, but the rides there were some of the best rides i have ever been on !! Tidal wave has to be the wettest log flume i have ever been on aswell- the water is literally never ending!!

“we went on a Tuesday when the kids were at school....”

★★★★☆

written by on 24/09/2010

we went on a Tuesday when the kids were at school. Definately a good move as the longest queue we were in was about 15 mins for SAW. In the past have either forked out for fast track - A must when its really busy!! or have queued for up to 2 hours.
Rides are great, best ones are Stealth, Saw and Rush. Don't bother with SAW ALIVE or X no way out - Big Disappointment..
Only down side is that some of the rides are now looking very tired and are in BIG need of refurbishment, namely Loggers leap and Rumba rapids.Dirty smelly water, paint all peeling, litter everywhere and many of the ride features worn out and not working. No proper theming anymore on the rapids, ones at Alton Towers much better.
Overall though a great day out IF you pick a quiet day...

we visited the park on a saturday BIG MISTAKE,we qued to park the car, then to get a ticket the same all day long.If the park was emptier is would have been about the right price but they squeeze every penny out of you!!!
ENTRY £38 EACH......PARKING £2 PER CAR......BOTTLE OF WATER £2......LOCKER £1 EVERY TIME YOU OPEN IT.......FAST TRACK PASS FOR THE DAY £60 EACH......FAST TRACK FOR SAW £4 EACH...EVERYTHING IS OVER PRICED...We managed to get on about 6 rides the whole day queing for saw for 2HRS of that.....great rides but the waiting around all day ruined it.
