“A really good price, in fact the cheapest available...”

written by unclekevo on 24/04/2010

A really good price, in fact the cheapest available for the game I bought from them. I preordered it a month in advance paying attention to the guarantee that I would get it on or before the release date. 2 weeks later I recieved it. Despite 4 seperate emails on 4 seperate occasions telling me that they had dispatched the order the order was actually dispatched 10 days after release date. Terrible customer service when you're lucky to actually recieve a reply and after the trouble I had they had the cheek to email me asking to fill a customer satisfaction form.

“I like Asda stores and I decided to order online to...”

written by on 30/03/2010

I like Asda stores and I decided to order online to save myself hassle. The prices are good - I only paid £3.50 for the delivery. However the amendments I had made the night before had been ignored even though it definitely went through and the order was changed when I looked online after it was delivered it was still the same old order. Some of the items were claimed to be unavailable and I cancelled them but they came anyway. A lot of the things I had cancelled came anyway. Two loaves of bread were delivered that expired on the day. Other items were clearly not the freshest. The most essential things I wanted were unavailable and no substitution were offered. Four of the items were substituted with other things though they have a reasonable substitution policy. I think one of the most annoying parts was the sheer quantity of plastic bags used! Some things were individually wrapped for absolutely no reason which I think is just an appalling waste. They don't even need plastic bags as the food arrives in crates. Some extra items had also been thrown in though I wasn't charged for them so I won't complain.

In conclusion: the items were hastily thrown together and clearly with the intention of getting rid of the oldest products.

I called customer services and they were polite and helpful. Said they would refund the old bread and contact the store to inquire about the order. Clearly the fault is in the IT system since my updates hadn't been registered properly even though I saved them.

Overall I am very unhappy and would never order online with them again!

“This is my first time using Asda online shopping and I...”

written by on 17/03/2010

This is my first time using Asda online shopping and I will not be using them again.
I'm currently stuck at home due to a broken ankle and therefore have been using online shopping for the past few weeks to save my other half from having to go on the weekends or after work.

My order arrived within the stated delivery slot time which was fine however the delivery driver left a bit to be desired.
He was probably about 17 and didn't look up or speak to me. Normally when I get my shoping delivered with Tesco or Sainsburys the delivery men are very helpful and take everything into my kitchen for me but he just stood awkwardly at the door and dumped all the bags at his feet and then watched me struggle with crutches and bags into the house.

Anyway, there were two substitutions which were fine so I signed his sheet and off he went.
Upon unpacking my shopping I noticed that my frozen items were missing and that in their place was somebody elses frozen goods-a solitary Mccain's microwave pizza!
I telephoned customer services which appear to be abroad somewhere and after a slight communication problem ( I am Scottish although I would say quite a well spoken one!!!) the customer service advisor said she would get someone from the store to call me back. Fine...
Ten minutes later the store contacted me. The home shopping manager wasn't the brightest and seemed a bit stressed about my problem! I explained to him that my goods were probably still in the delivery van as I had someone elses and he said he would contact the driver and phone me back.
Four hours later...nothing! Contacted customer services again and they said they would arrange for someone to call me back in 15 mins. 6 hours later-nothing! By that time they were closed.
Called customer services for a third time this afternoon who spoke to the store and then called me back stating that they could not make delivery of my missing goods as they were running two hours behind. Had no choice but to accept a refund on my missing items. Was also told I could keep the person's frozen pizza-WOW!
Have just sat down with a cup of tea to read my Heat magazine which I had delivered yesterday only to discover it is last weeks and I already have it! Great!
I'll be sticking with Tescos and Sainsbury's in future. Better service and much better choice and quality of food!

“Delivery has always been on time, substirutes good and...”

written by on 10/03/2010

Delivery has always been on time, substirutes good and have never had problems with customer service when I called regarding 2 items being out of date. Todays delivery due for 10-12am arrived at 10.01am containing an extra item that I did not order but was due to buy next week.

I ordered groceries in October 2009 but was to late due to being after 10pm to cancel it for the next day and had transferred monies from the account. I recieved an email to call by 9am which I did and was told regarding insufficient funds. I cancelled over the phone and went out. When I returned, there in my kitchen was the shopping taken in by my son. Thought nothing of it and that Asda will take monies from account, call, text or email me. Well.....5 months later, nothing and it looks like I had a £200 shop for nothing................ssshhh

Never ring home shopping team!! call head office 0113 243 5435 it's in leeds!

They don't even deserve 1 start!!

Absolutely disgusting customer service. My shopping didn't turn up on the first day, they apologised about a problem with authorisation (I checked with my bank). They said it would be taken out tomorrow and the shopping delivered...guess what, it wasn't. So another call to the call centre. All I wanted was for them to take payment over the phone and just send out my shopping. Low and behold its not a "secure environment" so they cannot do that!

After being passed to the 10th person on the 3rd day I had called them to rectify this, i gave up after spending a total of 3 hours on the phone! Then found you can ring asda in England (well disguised number not mentioned on website!). Lets hope they are better than thier counterparts. Fingers crossed.

I will never ever ever shop with adsa again and wish I had read reviews first.

turned up half an hour early! Luckily my partner was in, I passed the ASDA van on the way back from the school run. Had quite a few substitute items, which were ok, quality of ASDA home brand not as good as TESCO, where i usually shop, there wasn't as much for my money either. I will be back to online shopping at TESCO from now on which has always been superb!

DON'T WAIT UP! I would score them zero if it were possible.
I wish I had read the reviews for the asda grocery delivery service before I recently decided to shop with them. Order expected between 8-10pm, i waited up to 11pm, no delivery, no phonecall and customer service line closed at 10pm. I called and complained the following day, the store manager contacted me to apologise and offer a £15 refund, no delivery charge and redelivery was arranged for between 3-5pm the following day. I was very disappointed when leaving the house at 12 that day (with my 5 month daughter in toe) to see asda arriving with my redelivery. I informed the driver that the delivery was not due until 3pm and I was already running late for an apppointment, i was told 'well its here now, do you want it or not'. I accepted delivery (as i had no food in the house) and later called again to complain, i was informed that the store manager would call back the following day, -he didn't. AND I have been charged the full amount for my shopping. I am still waiting to resolve this issue. I will not be shopping with them again and would not recommend the service. I have been using online grocery delivery services (with 2 other leading supermarkets)for 4 years now and have never had any problem with their service.

They couldn't find my flat - no call or anything, but they let me know they'd deliver "first thing" the next day after I made multiple calls to their call center trying to figure out what was going on ans where my groceries were. They delivered at 1 the next day, but they forgot ALL of my chilled items. Oops, we'll come by later today and bring them. 5 hours later, no delivery and no call. After multiple calls to the call center and having to read off EVERY missing product code, still no food and no time frame of when to expect it!

The food that DID arrive, by the way, nearly all expired on the DAY of delivery.

FOR THE SMALL BIT OF SAVINGS, IT'S ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT TO SHOP ONLINE AT ASDA GROCERY! SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE!!!

I feel like I need a drink now.

“I have ordered from ASDA groceries a total of 6 times. ”

written by on 11/02/2010

I have ordered from ASDA groceries a total of 6 times.

Two of those times they were 30-45 mins late (didn't call, but muttered an apology at the door), one of the times the bewildered delivery guy called and couldn't find us (despite a clear and correct address and all of the benefits of today's technology), two of the other orders came just a hair past the scheduled time but were either missing items or had someone else's items along with mine.

This last order (today) was scheduled to be delivered between 2-4 today. It's 5:30, I received no call - called their customer service and was told someone would call with any update (30 mins ago) - ummm. Still haven't heard anything. Maybe this time I'll learn my lesson!!!

DO NOT ORDER FROM ASDA unless you want to take your chances on not getting your order, not getting the ITEMS that you paid for, and possibly wasting your entire day waiting to hear from them.

What a horrendous company!!

I have had 3 grocerie deliveries from Asda now and their service was a Joke. The first one was over an hour late and the driver phoned up and tried to pursuede us to have it delivered the next day because he wanted to go home !. The second was 45 mins late and the driver handed me a bag containing a 4 pinter of milk awkwardly so that when I closed the door it dropped and busted all over my floor , lost the lot !. Eggs broken too.
Last delivery again half an hour late and they charged me for 4 items that hadnt been delivered and I didnt even know till I checked my bank a few days later and they completely for got the whole of my frozen items !. Then when you ask for a refund for items you havnt got you have to wait 10 days for your money back !.
AVOID Asda home shopping , they seriously cannot get their act together !.

The delivery was 40 minutes late and when it finally arrived half of it was missing. Not only was this extremely annoying but now I have to ring their customer support which no doubt will take a long time and cost loads as I only have a mobile to ring off of.

Made a massive food order online and arranged delivery.
Delivery date was changed to 3 days later for some reason.
On delivery day food was 4 hours late and was all soaked in booze that had split in transit.
All meat went off within 2 days of delivery day.
Stuff missing.
Complained but had account suspended and was accused of fraud!! Brilliant

written by on 07/01/2010

Saw that Asda was offering Taittenger champagne at £15 per bottle so ordered six. Order accepted and confirmed online. On agreed delivery day I had a call from the local store saying that the offer expired the day before and I could not have it at that price. She gave me the number of customer service centre which is in South Africa (i'll bet they have charged me for the calls). Several calls (they said they would ring me back and didn't) - they did not see my point so I wrote to the managing director. Now four weeks with no response. I ordered online not from the local store and why can't their computer tell that I was ineligible for the offer because of my chosen delivery date - I would have had it a day earlier. I took time off to be here for that delivery and half an hour's notice of cancellation is just not acceptable. Terrible customer service and an ignorant managing director.

written by on 05/01/2010

I am extremely unhappy with the whole experience. First my delivery did not come within the two working days as stated as 'normal' on the website. Then, four days later, I track it and it states that they tried to deliver it and left a calling card at a brown door - mine is green! I phone customer services and discover they are in South Africa and there is absolutely no office or contactable people in UK. This is appalling as British people need jobs here in Britain! I will never ever buy from ASDA.co.uk again. I am considering returning the item as soon as I receive - if I ever do.

Made an order and paid online, the next day the delivery slot came and went and still no order?. I waited till it was four hours overdue and rang up customer services who informed me the order had been cancelled (Nice of them to inform me). I asked for a reason and they couldn't give me one and told me they could book another delivery slot, tehn the slot they offered me was 3 days away!. 3 days later the payment was taken out of my account even though the order had been cancelled. My advice, AVOID.

This is the worst delivery service I have EVER experienced. Didn't show up in the time slot and was promised the next morning - (they didn't contact me, I had to call 5 times to hear this). Called today at midday to hear that they had attempted delivery but no one was there which is a lie since the driver told me directly he couldn't make my delivery!!! Tried to cancel the order but they put me on hold. Have now lost 2 days (1 working day) to just waiting around for nothing. Ridiculous.

Ordered some groceries 14th December. Said it will be delivered on 18th December, however, the driver phones and said he can't make it due to the mad snow conditions. Which I was fine with.

Anyway, now the waiting game for the refund. Went to the bank to check when the money will be released from Asda, and the bank said the 29th December. Check my bank account 30th December, shock horror, no money there!

So i ring Asda up, and typically, they pass the buck and blame the Bank for the mess up. They also said the money will go in my account on the 31st. Overall, to save the hassle, don't use Asda online, go down to the store and do it yourself!

Ordered some stuff for a dinner party. Half of the ingredients didn't turn up and wasn't given a receipt to check. Check of it customer service said we never ordered it (We have a confirmation email to prove we did). Received one dead plant. lol
Now off out to go get the missing items.
ASDA say they will refund the cost and delivery.. so we will wait and see if that happens.

“I booked a Christmas delivery spot for the 22nd...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by MrsDusty on 23/12/2009

I booked a Christmas delivery spot for the 22nd December - I booked it 2 weeks ago. I have a 8 day old baby, a 16 month old and a 4 year old, whom is currently poorly.

Anyhow this grocery shopping was to be our main Christmas shop - it also included essentials for a newborn baby ie nappies and formula.

The delivery spot was between 8pm and 10pm - booked that late so I could get kids into bed and sort the shopping out in peace.

To cut a long story short my delivery never arrived - not even a courtesy call to say it wasn't coming.

The next day at 9.07 I called their Customer Services Helpline (help? thats a joke in itself). I explained to the first call handler that I was wondering what happened to my delivery and he said he would have to get someone form the store to call me back. Two hours later, no call back. So I made another call and spoke to a different operator whom told me I wouldn;t
be getting a delivery and could not give an explanation why.

Unbelievable - will definitely never ever shop at Asda again!

Two finger salute!

(off to Tesco tomorrow morning at some bob n billy time!)

Just when I start to love a range of goods, Asda stops selling it! Do you know how I can request to Asda to start re-selling the stuff I love? For example it has stopped selling Sunbites original crisps and only sells the flavoured versions which are not nearly as nice! I want to ask them to go back to selling this!! Advice please!

I'm afraid this IS a typical supermarket practice. It's down to their statistics and if they show poor figures, then the line is "pulled." I know it very often doen't make sense, particularly when they appear to sell out, week in, week out. Do I think they sometimes get it wrong ? The answer is, "Absolutely !" But you have to realise, this IS a numbers game and what to you think it really matters to Asda if they get the stats on an odd line, wrong ?

I wouldn't use ASDA again even if I had to grow my I own! I used to have deliveries from them - the first time they overcharged me I had to make many phone calls for 6 weeks before they refunded me. The last time they overcharged me £16 and I have never received it despite numerous phone calls and promises over many weeks I eventually gave up.

No I've tried every supermarket online and all bad for packing morrisons really bad just tried wwaitrose first time excellent hoping second delivery will be good also. It really annoys me when they pack raw meat in with fresh food . It's not rocket science they don't store raw meat in with the dairy and fresh food so why is it ok to pack it that way.

As far as I know you can only show the picker your preference for substitutions. You can set the substitutions as yes or no in your account and you can also alter it for individual items when you are checking out. You can leave instructions for the delivery driver, such as please use back door etc. But it doesn't seem that there is any way to leave specific instructions for the picker.
