If you dont have alot of money and want a shoe that will last a long time, dont get Vans Geoff Rowley XLT, If you have money to buy another pair of shoes in 2-3 months, get em.

I've been wearing these for nearly a year now. The outsole is so thin you can see the cushion.
I get a little twist of the ankle when I land sometimes. But the board feel is very good. Besides, it's probably one of the best looking around.

YO G this is scott steve and Patrick i have some advice the XLT SUCK! They are really light. They were really good for about 5 minutes. they plain out blow chunks. they suck i would rather skate in slippers or my socks. My K-mart shoes and my socks held up better than these over rated pieces of poo. ok buy any shoe but these ok got it good.

My first ever skate shoes were the Xlts, and they lasted me about 7 months. The webbed grip is incredible, but it lasts not too long. My last shoes were the same pair but black, and took me around 2 months for the whole side to come off, and the grip to come off. They ruin quite easy if you are a constant skater.

After skating these shoes for almost a month they've only had a lil threading rip.Thats good for how hard i skate. I think most people say they rip easy is because they just dont skate well and they dont know how to skate without tearing up everything.

Geoff Rowley's 'Rowley XLT ' r pretty gd
they look good and are pretty comfortabl
good for skatin
the only fing is, if you are a more advancd sk8a they are not durable enuff
if they were more durable then they would be perfect 4 sk8in in

after the 4th pair of laces, and the fact they fell apart completely after 3 weeks, i still say Vans Geoff Rowley XLT are my favourite shoe to skate in, amazing board feel, weight and comfort. they make your board do beautiful things at command. best ever shoe. my new pair arrive next week!! camo colour! pimpin'!

I got thru 5 pairs of these Vans Geoff Rowley XLT Skate shoes before I decided they were working out too expensive. They are the best sk8 shoes Ive ever had for skating in and the board feel is fantastic. The shame is that all mine have been in shreds in less than 3 weeks. Ive now changed to Globe Chet 5 which feel great and last forever.

I have Vans Geoff Rowley XLT in the classic black/white colour. They are great shoes and are the best for skating in. But they aren't very strong which is the only letdown. But great shoes anyway!

These shoes are good, just not the most durable shoe out there. I've had these shoes for a month and they've been rippin' like mad! My first kickflip with, they started a rip(this might be due to a defect though.....), but they are really light and flex well, the shock absorbance isn't great, but it works.
buy if ya want, geoff rowley wears em' and he kicks, so there must be somethin' great about the shoe.......right?

A good comfy skate shoe that will last a reasonable amout of time for the price. They could do with a lot more protection because they wear through pritty quick.

These shoes were great the first couple of days. I have used them for skating only, so by now, two pairs have seen about 10 hours skating each. Then the griptape starts ripping up shoelace in the top hole. then stitches on the omnipresent "vans wave" come undone, then back heel piece (behind "[rowley]") comes unglued, and who knows what horrors may soon be found. The stitches on the heel piece are fake too! perhaps if they were real i wouldn't have this problem! anywho, for 50 bucks a pair and being designed by a pro, i would expect these to hold up better with my modest (compared to rowley's) skating!

these are the best shoes i've ever had exept for the fact that my heel is severley damaged know from trying big gaps.

I bought these shoes from a local skate shop because they looked good and they were reasonably priced. Had I known, however, that they lacked a toe cap, the little rubberish thing under the first layer suede/leather, I would not have bought them. There is also a little bit of overhang in the sole where the sole protrudes out from the rest of the shoe. This can effect skating early on unitl it is worn away. Those are these shoes only major fault.

i bought the original Geoff Rowley shoes from Vans and they were my fav. shoe. they looked the best and skated the best.
I got them in all black. They wore down the 1st week and ripped the next week. I'm going to get them just to wear to school. After my next sk8 shoe are messed up i'm going to sk8 them.

i agree with what matt said. i do however feel that my shoes have lasted a long time and feel that they are still really comfortable after wear and tear. take it easy and dont listen to anything " u from georgia" says. he is a diry liar and doesn't know good shoes when he sees them.

being in the military (USMC), i need a shoe that is gonna feel great on my feet after work so i can skate my heart out. well i have had these Vans Rowley XLT shoes for the past year and 1/2 and they have worked better than any other skating shoe i have ever owned. i accomplish my grinds better, ollie a lot easier, and also from time to time, get some killer aerials with 'em. all in all, i love these shoes and wish geoff will come out with some more awesome stuff in the future. keep on kickin' ass G!

Sk8Boy1's Response to TJ's Review

Hi TJ,

My XLT's did exactly the same, but as you say they are great shoes to skate in. I've got through 5 pairs now which makes them work out pretty expensive, but still worth it.

I've just started using Globe Chet V and they are awesome. By far the best skate shoes I've ever had and boy do they last.
