La Redoute Clothing Catalogue: If you want to return items to La Redoute that dont fit/arrived too late/just don't like? forget it! It seems to me that La Redoute does not fully understand how the mail order returns policy works! I am/have been running several catalogues for many years, where items are ordered and returned with no problems, yet La Redoute have recently informed me that I return too many items! Drawing their attention to their '14 days approval period, during which all customers are entitled to cancel and return their order' as stated in their catalogues, I was informed that if the matter didnt improve they would cancel my account, suggesting I 'chose more carefully'! New catalogue, new order placed. Just received letter from them. (I'd ordered and returned 3 items since the 'warning'(2 didn't fit, 1 was delayed stock, not 5 weeks as promised but over 2 months, why would I want it then?). To say 'as there has been no improvement' my new order cannot be accepted and my account is now closed. What a cheek! Stay clear of this company, there's no room for error.

Do NOT do business with La Redoute. I was given the wromg date of when my order was shipped, I felt the East Coast call center was rude, I've been waiting for my order for 15 days and it hasn't even shipped yet. 3 of the pieces I ordered aren't even in stock anymore. What a waste, I am going to cancel, it's not worth dealing with them, especially now that the best pieces are unavailable.

I have spent a lot of money with La Redoute this year. I would like to spend a lot more but I'm not going to give them another penny. I had £29 outstanding on my account. They can't tell me what specific item(s) it's for and I'm fed up of asking so I've paid it. But hell'll freeze over before I pay the £15 they've added because they say I'm late paying because I've waited so long for them to sort this out (which they haven't).
I wish they would stop sending me special deals and money off this and vouchers for that and free delivery, etc., and pay someone decent wages to deliver on time. I ordered a coat. On the web site it said delivery would be four weeks - fair enough. Two days later I had a letter to say very sorry there was a delay it would now be five weeks. Well, every one has problems. Five weeks later - still no coat - I happened to be paying them some money through my online account and delivery now shows 7 weeks - 7 WEEKS!!!! That's a total of 12 weeks altogether. Did I get it in 12 weeks? Don't be silly! 10 weeks in they emailed me to say very sorry their suppliers couldn't deliver.
This is not an isolated incident. It is symptomatic of the way this firm operates. It would appear to have very limited facilities in this country, operating almost entirely out of premises in France. Unless it shows more commitment to its UK customers in the near future it pretty soon may not have any left!

In short, DO NOT BUY from La Redoute. I have never had a worse experience in my life with so-called customer services representatives. They were consistently unhelpful, and when they (or the postal service) lost my cheque, they tried to charge me money on interest. Upon writing to them, I enclosed proof that I had sent the said cheque, yet they are harping on that I didn't pay them. I have spoken to them, written to them and emailed them, and none of them are prepared to do anything about it. And none of them know about my query specifically, so I am passed round to about 100 people in their call centre before I am brushed off again. I haven't been a wet blanket over it either, I have taken a polite but firm approach. But still nothing is done.
This has been going on for about two months.
Before that, the clothes were delivered much later than expected, and it took ages to actually get speaking to their courier who takes returned items. The clothes I kept are wearable, but the quality is not good for the price and I'm quite sure they'll be unwearable after a few months.
A useless company. Stay away!

I ordered an item in February from La Redoute, they never once attempted to deliver it to me, after about £10 of phone calls and 5 re-orders later the item was sold out because the season had changed from winter to summer!! That's how long it took! Eventually I was told the courier wouldn't deliver my item because (and I quote the 'helpline' person) "The didn't want to deliver it". Upon asking for the name of the courier I was told they couldn't give it to me.
Suffice to say I will never use or recommend them again, complete farce from beginning to unsuccessful end. I'm out of pocket in both time and money, not to mention never getting my order.
Stay away, stay away.
