Nice guitar, very good sounding pickups and good feeling neck. Would recommend highly to people that want a Les Paul but without the price tag!

It looks so much like a real Gibson Les Paul. It's not as good sounding as the Gibson but not saying its rubbish. I think its a fairly good guitar!

Good cheap version of a Gibson, sounds great and feels great with good quality parts. Really good guitar recomend to intermediate to experts, a bit heavy for begginers and be careful, it can scratch quite easy.

Sounds great and looks great, definitely feels like a Les Paul and sounds like one. Easy to play and have really good with low action, also looks amazing and is painted very well, the binding on the wood is fantastic, and its very fun to play. Needs to be set up as soon as you get it to play it at its best, doesn't stay in tune very well and the quality isn't quite as good as the Gibson, but that's the same with all copy guitars, also if they don't come as standard you should change the tuners to grovers or anything of a higher quality than the standard epiphone tuners. A great guitar, looks great in goldtop or cherry sunburst fantastic to play, and its a guitar you wake up in the morning to and smile at.

I was given an Epiphone Les Paul as a gift a good few years ago, while that one has long since broken, my main guitar has always been a Les Paul... I think it is safe to say I am hooked...

This is a fantastic guitar. Recommended for live performances and studio recordings. It's not as good as the Gibson Les Paul, but, for 500 bucks (Gibson costs $2500 or more) you get the Les Paul tone!

“Beautiful made guitar!!!”

★★★★★

written by Mini Slash on 12/06/2008

Beautiful made guitar!!!
I got a left-handed version of this guitar and my Firebird, Telecaster and Strat are collecting dust. The best guitar out there for the $400-$550 price range. I play a lot of types of music; jazz, classic rock, metal, Christian, punk, and blues (to name a few) and the LP has fit all of them. This guitar is better than some of the Gibson guitars I've played (for my taste). Watch out Fender, the Epiphone Les Paul is the new frontier.
BUT, I would highly recommend to NOT buy this guitar online. Find it in-store and test it out (it's not for everyone). Weather you are a beginner, intermediate, or an advanced guitar player, if you're looking for a guitar with excellent quality and playability that's easy on the wallet, THIS IS IT!!!

The monstrous sustain on this thing is amazing. It's got brilliant sound and is very hard to stop playing!!!
The quality of it is just superb, the mahogany body goes for that real smooth and attractive appearance. For people who go for both lead guitar AND rhythm guitar, this is the one for you. ...I don't think there is any bad points...

This guitar really impresses me with everything. The two humbuckers make an incredible clean sound.
I bought this guitar with an Line6 Spider III, a good amp, and made up the effects as I wanted them. The drive on this guitar is great, especially if you use the neck-pickup.

I really recommend this guitar !

★★★★☆

written by Jimmy Zoso on 03/05/2008

Over the years there have been some inconistances in the build coming from Epi. Different hardware, truss rod covers, internal routing making some heavier than others. Mine come heavy, 9 lbs, 'standard' truss rod cover label, Grover tunners, bad fret job. However, I play for fun, Zepp + Lizzy, and can only blame any problems on my lack of skill. I would ideally like a 'Gibson Classic Antique' with the '57 pu's, but that's a dream. Mine is 3 yrs old and as good as new, no failures in hardware or electrics. I don't thrash it but even so you get the feeling it will last forever. If, like me you can't afford a Gibson then this is the next best thing. I would never consider playing anything else other than a Les Paul.
Tip, buy from a large reputable dealer, where advice is not driven by finance.
