I was introduced to play by a friend and it is the best online store i've ever been to they sell DVD's,Music,(computer)games,Ringtones and Gadets.

All items are delivered free of charge and i guarantee you will find some really cheap prices on cd's I bought a Cd for £7.99 from play and the cd was £14.99 in my local HMV!

All ordering is safe and packages always arrive in perfect condition.

You can also vist Play USA where you can order DVD's that ain't out here yet.

I've been using Play.com for a couple of years now and will continue to use it as the products are great value compared with shops and they don't charge postage and packaging. Deliveries are fairly quick with most of my deliveries turning up in 3-4 days.

Nice easy web site to navigate as well.

I made an order from www.play.com and submitted my credit card details. The account was declined because they said my credit card details were not valid. That really amazed me as I had used it only minutes before to shop online from Lakeland. Anyway, I contacted my bank just in case but all my details were OK and there was no problem at all with my credit status. I immediately informed 'play' via e-mail and I am still waiting for a reply more than a week later.....I've sent them a new e-mail today just to cancel my account cause I can't be bothered really with them. OK they do have very good prices in some items but a pound or two gain can not make up for the very poor level of service they are providing. A very dissapointing experience !!!

My experience of being notified of a card being declined is either user digit error i.e entering a wrong number, or the problem is at your bank's end despite what they may be telling you.

<br>My wife experienced a similar problem where her credit card was rejected at two separate shops. She went to her bank and was asked to call customer service. When she eventually got through she was told the card had been put on hold, but they couldn't ( or wouldn't ) tell her why. They then re-activated it. They gave absolutely no explanation as to why it had been put on hold in the first place. Also, the card in question is a joint card and I, like you, had used my card the same day without any problems.

<br>Sounds odd I know but a bank will suspend an account if they have or suspect a security breach of their systems ( they're not likely to tell you that's the reason ). They also monitor accounts for any suspicious or unusual purchases against a card e.g if a card has only been used to purchase say petrol and then there's a £3000 entry from an electrical store the bank may well suspend it pending inquiries. The latter is especially annoying if the £3000 purchase is legit. This has happened to a number of people I know.

<br>This may not be the reason Play couldn't obtain verification of your card details but they're not likely to turn away business unless they genuineley can't process the payment. I can't comment on why they didn't respond quickly to your mails but their customer service is now excellent. Of the very few problems I've had have all been sorted quickly and without question and with sincerest apologises.

Started using Play.com in March. Had always been very wary of ordering over the internet what with people hacking and getting card details. I was assured however that they used a secure server, so I gave them a go. Was most impressed when the DVD arrived 3 days later. That has happened ever since. You can easily check what status your order is at, the menus are very easy to navigate, and the choice of titles is amazing. I usually have to go to a large HMV store to obtain some of the more obscure titles, but they are all here. And the prices are excellent (especially if you are on a low budget).
I have managed to build up my Doctor Who DVD collection thanks to them.

I have used play.com for over 2 years now (when they used to be play247.com as well) and in all this time I have never had a problem with them. I have misordered a DVD and returned the item without any problems. I did have one DVD that did not arrive but after speaking to their customer support a replacement was sent out.

I wouldn't use any other on-line site for buying DVD's.

I totally agree with reviewer. I never use any other company for my DVD's. Delivery can vary from 2 days to a week, but the savings are fantastic.

I cant really add anything new that hasn't already been said apart from the week long delivery time. I have ordered numerous items from Play and the have always taken exactly one week to deliver. Now one week doesn't sound like a long time but if you are a first time orderer and you have a screaming child in your ear you want the DVD/VHS ASAP. Apart from that they are still the cheapest out there and they have never lost any of my items. Infact the only glitch was when I ordered a PS2 Action Replay and after one week it wasn't delivered. I checked my order and it had been processed but when I rang them they said it hadn't been sent out so I cancelled it and they refunded the money to my card. 2 days later the AR2 turned up and I got it for free ;) Ste

I've only used play.com for buying DVDs but they also have a nice selection of CDs and video games as well convering various platforms. They are one of the best sites for UK users to find DVDs at really reasonable prices often upto £5 or more cheaper than those seen on the high street and the selection offered is excellent. As well as having excellent prices and free delivery, the service offered is equally excellent. Navigating around the site and ordering is a breeze and goods are dispatched promptly and the one time there was a problem with my order it was fixed quickly and effiiently. The chances are if you live in the UK you'll not find your DVD cheaper anywhere else online than here but it's always worth shopping around. This site and dvd.co.uk consistently offer the lowest prices around though so if you've these two bookmarked you'll save yourself a lot of time and money online. Definitely recommended.

I recently used Play.com to buy a Barney DVD (for the kids honest). I was amazed first at the price which was what I saw in a local WH Smith. Once I decided to order the process was quick and simple using their secure server. Then came the best bit - the order tracking. It actually allows you to see what stage of the process your order is at, from authenticating the payment, picking the goods, packaging and dispatching. The order came through in about 4 working days and I now have two very happy children!!

I will definitely use Play.com again, probably next will be Lilo and Stitch on Region 1 DVD (out 3/12 - just in time for Xmas!!)
