“NO TRUST IN TRUSTPILOT”

★☆☆☆☆

written by GazzaMagoo on 11/12/2023

Remember people, you can CUT (ready to) PASTE any review to other sites, TWITTER, FACEBOOK etc, and yes, even reviewcentre, so if you find yourself using that waste of space site to leave a negative review for ANY organisation, why not mention that you've done just that? (cut, ready to paste) just in case, as it may make the Mods of Trustpilot (though I'm not sure about the "Trust" aspect) think twice about blocking you. BTW Credit where it's due. THIS (reviewcentre) site has got the right idea in allowing us to COMMENT/REPLY to any review, unlike Trustpilot. I only hope we CAN'T "like" our own comments...as is (sadly) possible with that great (yet seriously over moderated) site, called HUKD.

“I cannot write a review ”

written by Cantacess on 10/10/2023

Tried to use trust pilot recently. This is a no go now. Blocked each time by my review containing inappropriate content. Not true.I wrote the review several times with exceedingly kind words but each time it highlighted a word such as 'and'or 'the'. That's being got at by the protected company.Trust pilot must be totally impartial. If I state I have been a customer of a company for years, that isn't inappropriate language Trust pilot. Don't protect.

“Disappointing”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Elena94 on 31/07/2023

3 months ago I reviewed facebook market to alert people of the rooms/houses schemmers, posting all over the place. I also reported this matter to the email I found on the Gov website, alongside with the email conversation from a lady who tried to trick me with an apartment. A couple of days ago, I was reviewing something else and I found out that, out of the blue, Trustpilot blocked my account. I got in touch to ask explenation and they said my facebook review, from 3 months earlier, could not be verified for lack of proofs which I need to send to them if I want my account to be unlocked. I was complitely shocked. I explained that has been long time since that review and I no longer possess those emails, which could have been reasonable to ask at that time and I would have been more than happy to provide. They didn't care basically. My account is still blocked lol.

“BIGGEST DICEPTION AVAILABLE”

written by lago on 13/07/2022

For years I used them without problems, recently 1 of my reviews about Epson was considered as spam and I was banned. I had supplied proof of purchase. They are now taking payments from advertisers, this is the reason for there change in policy. They are no longer unbiased.

“DOn't waste your time.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ImmanuelD on 31/05/2022

Deleted all my reviews stating their "software has flagged that at least one of your reviews is likely to be spam." I replied their email asking for clarification but did not receive any reply in 10 days. A complete waste of time and a frustrating experience as all the reviews were 100% genuine and relating to my personal experience with the reviewed businesses.

“TRUST pilot? You have to be kidding”

★☆☆☆☆

written by abbeydweller on 20/05/2022

I was a member of Trustpilot for some years. Leaving aside the frequent bugs on the site, many of which were never fixed, the way the site is managed is appalling. One well-known UK computer building company is renowned for threatening people who post bad reviews. People post low rated reviews and a few days later, they are often gone. I posted a 3*** review and was threatened by them with legal action. Trustpilot claim they take this behaviour very seriously, yet when I reported this company and provided solid evidence of their unlawful behaviour in the form of emails and documents, Trustpilot did nothing. They couldn't even be bothered to reply aside from an automated email saying my information had been received. A few months later, I posted an unrelated review - very balanced and factual with no bad language or anything controversial - and two hours later received an email from Trustpilot saying my account has been suspended and, "As part of our efforts to ensure that all Trustpilot reviews are genuine, we have customized software that detects unusual activity on our platform. In this case, our software has flagged that at least one of your reviews is likely to be spam. We take this very seriously." So there you have it. When Trustpilot-registered businesses (who pay a fee to be on there - I wonder if that has any bearing on the matter) indulge in reprehensible and unlawful behaviour, Trustpilot do nothing. But when you post a perfectly ordinary review Trustpilot takes this 'very seriously' and ban you without even contacting you first. Zero integrity, a really terrible bunch of people.

“Refuse to post negative reviews”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AryanaWoodward on 17/03/2022

Any positive reviews I post on truspilot are fine. As soon as I post a negative review they challenge and remove it asking for proof. I provide proof and they just keep raising the bar until I can't achieve it- that's cheating. Surely that means none of the positive reviews can be trusted, and most of the negative ones are missing?

written by Levesqueln441 on 14/01/2022

I would not trust the reviews on this site. I did a review and the company challenged it - Trustpilot contacted me and asked me to 'prove' my review - which I did, providing emails and screen grabs of the issues. Trustpilot kept coming back with challenges and review was removed even though I provided all the evidence requested. Nearly every review was negative about the company yet Trustpilot chose to remove the review. Looked like Trustpilot will remove negative reviews if the company bullies them. Will not be looking at trustpilot again would advise others not to trust it.

“Reviews good and bad deleted without explanation....?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 27/11/2021

I left a positive review for one company and it was removed by Trustpilot. I sent several emails over many weeks asking for details from Trustpilot but they did not answer. As it was a positive review I can only assume it was flagged by one of that company's competitors. As Trustpilot refuse to respond I guess I'll never know. Whilst in the past I have always thought of Trustpilot as an honest organisation who provided the opportunity for customers to share their honest experiences in an open and transparent manner. They were my "go-to" review website. I now have grave doubts whether they are as impartial as they pretend. I shall not be using them in future.

“Creepy Review Site”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Miller136 on 21/06/2021

TrustPilot no longer allows me to copy and paste words from my clipboard onto its site. Which is why I'm wondering if they are trying to log my keystrokes to know my personal identity. That's creepy as hell. I would not recommend TrustPilot to anybody who wants to protect their anonymity, online privacy, and moral principles.

“Tries to erase bad reviews ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 19/05/2021

There seems to be a move for large review sites to erase bad reviews. They offer the reviewer to enter a user name obviously a business wouldn’t recognise this not a problem in the past but now it seems to give businesses carte blanche to claim they don’t know who the reviewer is thereby initiating the review site to demand proof of use of the businesses service thus contradicting GDPR and data protection exposing the service user reviewer to unscrupulous harassment by the reviewed business . A bad business will never stomach bad reviews .

“I flagged a review about our company...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by JohnTiernan on 30/03/2021

I flagged a review about our company (new-car-discount.com) to Trustpilot as it contravened many of their guidelines. The review posted contained many personal details including names, dates of birth of our staff, blatant lies and other detrimental comments that fell under the banner of harmful and/or illegal. Given these facts I requested that it was investigated expecting those items that contravened their guidelines to be edited and/or removed. The actual wording in the review read as follows: xxx knows he was asked to correct his price savings and not take all electric cars off his site. My advice is to deal with professional people and not those who make claims of savings and are rude and then make unwarranted contact to gloat that Trading Standards have not contacted them. The government grant is not a saving he provides. He is so stupid (low intelligence and education) he does not realise many cars do still qualify for the £2500 grant. He claims I am a dealer. Why would I be and why would I be disgruntled? This morning, he sends me an email that he has not yet heard from Trading Standards. He has been sending me emails so has discussed issued via this route. He takes no responsibility. He refuses to accept the £3k grant is not a saving he offered or obtained. It simply reduces the price for everyone. He implies people get a higher saving that reality. He is director of Auto Union Finance and uses expensive 0844 numbers. Professional companies do not use high cost 0844 numbers when 030 numbers are available. Google Auto Union Finance. Business so bad it converted to a Plc to a Ltd Company. Any people wanting to deal with him just need to read his reply and how he handles complaints. This is his level of professionalism. Just imagine if you purchased via him and had an issue. He would take no responsibility and abuse you. Be man enough to admit the government subsidy was not a saving that you obtained and people would get this from all. All it did was reduce the customer price for all. I hope you have put your genuine name / address and a contact number for trust pilot so they can check out who you actually are. We will then hand over the details of how you tried to black mail us with threats to the police." No threats were made. The delusional fool thinks a government subsidy is "our very generous discounts". To my astonishment the person from Trustpilot replied as follows:  (Trustpilot) Mar 25, 2021, 7:40 GMT+1 Hi, Thanks for reaching back to us. We totally understand your insights, however, we only assess what was reported. Since the highlight doesn't contain any personal information, we have to invalidate it. Totally bemused I appealed but no response has been forthcoming. Given their stance I then posted a review about Trustpilot on their own website with the following wording: I flagged a review to Trustpilot as it contravened their own guidelines. Here is the email string for you to make your own mind up about them especially two people I dealt with who are both so stupid (low intelligence and education) and delusional fools.” This was the response: (Trustpilot) Mar 29, 2021, 18:30 GMT+2 Hi, Your review of Trustpilot was flagged to us as being harmful or illegal. It’s not the sort of content that should be on Trustpilot, so we’ve removed your review. We do note you have been experiencing some issues with a review and a member of our team is currently assessing those tickets and will be in touch. However, we cannot allow companies to post harmful language towards our employees. Unbelievable – I wonder if you agree with me that Trustpilot are total hypocrites?

“Like many, I've been asked by Trustpilot to remove...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 1990Lawson on 01/03/2021

Like many, I've been asked by Trustpilot to remove negative reviews despite justifying them at length. Trustpilot's business model relies on keeping businesses happy, I suppose. After having two negative (one not even overly negative but critical) removed, I decided to call it quit. It also made me realize, as a customer, how unreliable it was. Don't use it to establish that a business is safe.

“What's the point if you can't have an opinion?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Hill187 on 16/09/2020

I've been writing honest consumer reviews for a while now - some good, some bad depending on my experience. TrustPilot was one of the platforms I used but decided to delete my account after several of my reviews were challenged by the companies. I don't see the point in writing reviews if you're only allowed to voice a positive opinion. Do not reply to their "asking for more information" emails! Companies just want to find out who you are and then threaten you behind the scenes with a lawsuit if you don't remove your review! I've lost all my trust in TrustPilot - it's merely a marketing device for companies. There are more honest reviews on Amazon! Don't trust TrustPilot!
