“Beware - fees deducted from refunds - even if no work...”

I negotiated a job with a freelancer, who agreed to take the work, and I paid through people per hour. The freelancer let me down (through no fault of their own, family bereavement) but people per hour retained a "buyer fee" from my refund. That's in spite of their widely advertised "Money Protection Guarantee - Job done or your money back" guarantee.

“Disingenuous at best . . .”

It is very telling that you feel the need to hide the excessive "transaction" fees you charge buyers until the very last minute of the transaction when paying by credit or debit card. I imagine it's in the hope that people don't notice them! Otherwise, given that the charges are the same regardless of what card you pay with, why not show them before the card details have been entered? Also, 60p + 10% transaction fee? Anyone in business knows that the processing fees charged by bank etc. are not that high so it's basically a way to charge buyers a fee for using your service. Why not just be honest and upfront about it and charge buyers a fee? It's also very telling that you tend not to respond to negative feedback on TrustPilot, preferring to just respond to compliments. These are all the hallmarks of a disingenuous business.

My experience with PeoplePerHour has been really good. Search engine is effective, you can review the person work and reviews easily, communicate with them pre booking them as you need and pay when the work is complete. I have used it twice and on both occasions been very happy. Brilliant service, quick accurate efficient and excellent price. I will definitely use it again.

Once you find a good source of talent it's easy. However I do think PPH takes someone with a bit of experience to weed out those who represent their talents as being "awesome" and those who actually do have real talent. I have used PPH for some time now, while some sellers are good the majority are not up to scratch. Avoid any SEO/SEM "experts" on PPH as you can never see the mess they have made until months later! Customer care is non existent, they balance appeasing you and the seller at the same time.

The worst staff in the world as well lying with no morals at all I really cant tell you how bad this firm is Try and find a number or address for them, you wont be able to, thats how much they want to avoid people finding them when they rip you off They will hold your money, even if there is no problem at all, for weeks and weeks, they lie I have reported them to every organisation and government body for money laundering, and illegal money holding, let the fun begin I have also contacted all the relevant Greek bodies as well (were they are registered) especially for the customer service manager, thats a joke!) and their joke of a ceo for crimes and illegal activity as well I have also started every single avenue open to me to get this firm investigated (guess what, been told that there are many investigations already ongoing!!) and closed down I am in the process of contacting direct all of their investors as well with all the prove re their crimes. Not hard to get these people emails and phone numbers, pm me if anyone else wants them. Get their investors to see what is happening and they pull the plug!

If you're a buyer and have been inactive for longer than 6 months this company charge you an ''admin fee'' for ''holding your money'' each month and they don't give it back when you're active again. NEVER USE THEM!!

This states that after 6 months there maybe inactivity fees as is the case with most online platforms. We send reminders about this and you have every option to withdrawal your funds within that 6 month time frame. We are not a banking institution to hold funds for long periods of time and we do apologize for this inconvenience. Thank you.

Hi All, just in few words - PPH is just a website for making cash for site owners, they don't care of their clients at all. they look to get their commissions and that it. It will be easy to block and close Your account with almost $2k within a moment and then You can send as many emails to them with evidence and prove that You performed the job was requested through PPH and but money You earned will never get Your bank account as "very GOOG" gays sitting in PPH side can block You and keep money in the easiest way. Don't trust to this service as there are more reliable services.

“Avoid PeoplePerHour ”

The quality of projects and providers on the platform is getting worse. Platform is full of bugs, you can forget about getting in touch with PPH support. Takes few days for them to respond and even then they won't go through the problem on the first run. Agree with lots of reviews here - they are not what they used to be. Most providers are Indian guys posing like European companies. Sometimes even uploading photos of professional ladies - when you talk you can hear an Indian chap with some baby crying in the background.

“Unrealistic fee rates on People Per Hour”

I am registered on the 'People Per Hour' website and I am surprised and somewhat dismayed at the rates people are prepared to give out work and the amount people are prepared to work for. This site really does not do any favours to freelance community. I think anyone looking to offer an accept work should seriously consider the amount of return they will make. The old saying 'buy cheap by twice' comes to mind. I would like to see freelancers using this site to take a long hard view at what the do and can provide and push for better rates. Fees offered for jobs and those offering their services are bordering on the downright absurd and bear no relationship to the real world. If you use this site do something to get projects values increased for your own integrity.

As with any market, there is a global amount of freelancers who will charge less amounts. “Really and truly awful place to find work through”

I have been doing freelance work through PPH on and off for 2 1/2 years, until I have stopped now, due to the extremely negative experiences I have had. Customer support is non existent, they continue to close my complaint open tickets only because they have been replied to with some half hearted reply, which in 90% of the cases leaves you wondering they actually read your query.... Well, is either that , or the staff they hire is mentally challenged, and unable to follow up a few lines and write a reply, not to mention act on anything, Their customer support must be a work house full of people cutting and pasting replies, which most times are not really relevant to the question or query. Intensely frustrating.

I been working on PPH for about two months having issues with people not wanting to pay me so i put in a dispute after of no contact from buyer and i did by the book they cancelled my dispute and went in his favor im at complete shock i dont know what to do.
