“Churchill Van Insurance nothing but a badly run joke”

Have been with Churchill insurance for along time and always thought they were great , but when I called to insure my van I was transferred on to there van site this were it all went wrong . First they wanted my 9 years no claims bonus contacted Churchill and then emailed over to them . Then received letter we have not received and will cancel your insurance, so resent by email again . Then wanted a copy of my licence again emailed over again said they would cancel my insurance ?? so again resent, and my email trail was good proof and getting larger and then said we need your proof on no claims bonus by this time no very happy called up Churchill and they said it had been sent to there van site . Then I get a call from Churchill van site saying they are going to cancel my insurance if they dont receive a letter with no claims on .so called up Churchill customer service they were great but explained it was a different company that looks after then van insurance they looked a my email trail and said everything I was asked for I had done and could not understand why Churchill van insurance keep threatening to cancel my insurance. So I get a voice mail from Churchill van insurance people BRIGHTSIDE Saying your insurance has been cancelled ???? so back on to Churchill they also could not understand why my insurance had been cancelled by there Van insurances BRIGHTSIDE I was transferred to Brightside insurers customer service to a very ignorant male who would not listen to me just kept saying its been cancelled and my manager says he will waver the cancellation fee ??????? so you dont have to pay that, and said if you want to get us to insure you again he will transfer me to there sales line.? I have now got to a competitor for insurance. A message to Churchill insurance you need to dump BRIGHTSIDE insurance as thy are giving you a bad name and loosing you customers

“Rip off”

Change of address 3 weeks before end of policy - told cost £25 - so I decided it would be cheaper to cancel the policy and start another but was informed that, even though I had paid in full up front at the start of the policy a year ago, there would be a cancellation charge of £50 !! to pay. the operator was a pleasant lady but couldn't do anything about this as 'computer says no' Will not be using Churchill again

“Expensive and Long wait on calls”

Was trying to call them to discuss my current policy, waited over 20 mins, left the phone next to me on the loud speaker, finally someone answered, I said "hello" started reading my policy number and then they hanged out. Also when I wanted to change the car, for even smaller engine, they told me ridiculous prices. Veeeery dissapointed

“CHURCHILL DISGUSTING”

Took a policy out on my name (As i am main driver) with my son as additional driver. The reason for my son to be added is beacuse we have relatives far and wide in the country and at times i cant drive for more than 2 hours due to severe lower back pain hence why i added my son so he can take over and drive legitimately with cover whenever im tired or in pain. Churchill turns around and automatically implies the cover may be a fronting cover. My son has his own car, policy and No claims discount. Insurance just on my name was around £850 mark, with my son near enough £1200. So im paying these criminals £350 extra just for the convenience of my son driving for me on long journeys. An absolute JOKE! Ridiculous. Now i recieve a letter stating "We cant accept your proof of NCB" please call us or your polciy maybe void if you have accident and any claim maybe rejected. Are these guys for real. I will MOST CERTAINLY be creating a case for the FSA to deal with. Insurance companies should not be operating and conducting themselves in such a disgusting manner.

“Awful for car claims! Avoid!”

I have claimed on Churchill as car ran into my door in a car park. They were awful at communicating, each time a I called they had no idea about where we last left off. I received no updates on the status of my claim and spent half my time on hold, only to be told to call back again in 2 weeks. It is nearly a year later and my claim has not been completed. I was left being assured that my photographic evidence was 100% in my favour and that the evidence was indisputable, to 3 months later to be told that the evidence proves nothing and that what I was told previously was only some random employees "personal opinion"and meant nothing! Never again will I use Churchill with it's horrendous customer service and I advice against using them if you want to save yourself a large phone bill and a lot of stress!

“Hugely over priced”

A family of two adults. We had one car insured through Churchill then had to buy a second. Both mature adults having never had an accident or made a claim. Wouldn't put second car onto the first policy and ended up with two policies. Total annual charge just shy of £1000.00. Which is outrageous. When I tried to get out they said they would charge me, when I moved house, they charged me, when I changed my car they charged me. Bottom line is I now have a quote with another company for £420.00 per year, same cars, same drivers, same NCD, same house. The company have done well at ripping this family off but not for much longer I can assure them of that.

“WORST POLICY AVOID”

Worst company in the world after shopping around for insurance and churchill being a name everyone spoke about i decided to take this insurance, i purchased it and received no documents in the post i rang up and a customer service advisor said to me to print them online. I did this and recently was involved in a car accident which wasn't my fault as someone hit into the back of me churchill being lazy wanted me to take liability and then added 400 pounds to my excess and when i sent the printed documents in they asked me if i had made them myself absolutely disgusted! never ever going here again.

“Simply Avoid!”

Very Bad customer services I had insurance with churchill and finally moved to Admiral which is far better in terms of premium. I lost my one year NCD with churchill even after paying 8 months installments. Nightmare!

“Rip off cancellation charges”

Cancelled car insurance policy, on a car I no longer have, with Churchill giving 30 days notice both by email and over the phone and at no time was I told their would be a 53 pound cancellation fee. Tried to get some satisfaction over the phone but no luck, basically seemed they charge it regardless so if I had died in a car accident my wife would still have to pay 53 pounds to cancel the policy, disgusting. Appalling business practise, all just about grabbing your money. They should make it explicitly clear when buying online or over the phone that you will be stung for a huge amount if you cancel early

“RUBBISH CAR INSURANCE COMPANY”

Fed up having to phone the customer care line and waiting over 30 mins now. I did not review my car insurance policy with Churchill as they were toooo expensive, but they still took over £200. I did not set up a DD for them to do this as I paid a one off fee in 2014 and informed them not to automatically renew, BUT they just renewed anyway. Have already complained and was assured they would pay this money back into my account within 5 working days. I have received paperwork from Churchill to say they have returned the premiums - no such luck!!!! Will I be recommending CHURCHILL INSURANCE to anyone - NO WAY

“Rip off Britain {Churchill } ”

I have been with Churchill for a while now, I returned from holiday to find my flat roof had let in water and part of my ceiling collapsed. They sent someone round to video and take pictures and then the next day called me to say they were not paying out as their weather forecast records show that they wasn't enough wind and rain to cause the damage . I live in Surrey they are based in Swansea yet they know best !!! Since they have been taken over by direct line they are no longer a company to trust and I would encourage you all to look elsewhere

“Worst Insurance Ever!!!! ”

Been with Churchill for insurance since March 2015 and they were our first insurance company and the experience that I have received from them is the worst experience I have ever received from any company! First we had a rear end car accident (non-fault) and before our car went into get repaired they were supposed to get a hire car but of course they didn't bother and on the morning of our car being taken away we then found out that they had not actually booked this for us! So we then had to use OUR recovery on our policy to get the car back for getting to work and things then the second time the car was supposed to go away we paid for a like to like vehicle (we had a ford mondeo 2005 2.0) and they tried to palm us of with a 1.2 petrol corsa! and again we could not get our car repaired! Then when we called up to change address they charged us £130!!! and unfortunately we had a crash in the car and the car was to be written of! but now the are charging us £200 for the policy holder being unemployed! Not to mention the policy holder is only 20 years of age! and he was given 12 year NCD!!! Total joke of a company!! Never pay your money to this insurance company as they just ask for money left right and center!

“2 years and waiting”

Been waiting 2 years for churchill to sort my claim following a hit and run on the motorway by a kitty, I know the nationality of the driver following the police investigation, yet apparently the Lordy was in the depot! Yes I don't understand that logic either, and to say they don't care is an understatement especially as they have now dropped the case even following the above point I have mentioned. Finally don't expect any updated through letter email text of phone, as you won't get one, I have had to phone up constantly for updates as the company is pathetically useless!!!

“On-line quote was £167 ended up paying £280 - Admin Fees”

STAY AWAY from Churchill - what a nightmare They take Admin fees off you without your consent telling you that you should have read the small print on their online policy - even though you provide proof of no claims. I did everything they wanted me to do and had to pay over £50 in admin fees add 20% interest for monthly payments and your policy. The sick thing was they weren't the cheapest quote, but i THOUGHT I was dealing with a decent company.

“Honest Churchill Car Insurance Review”

One of the worst car insurance companies I have ever seen. Their engineers guesses the price of the car when its written off. They gave me my car's valuation on basis of only one single link online , when I asked him to forward me the link he didnt and twisted the conversation on the phone. When I asked him to send me his email so I can send him 10 links of the same car. The reply was "This is his last decision he won't look at any other links and he's valuing the car on basis of single link only". Shame on all your car engineers & Shame on the way you run the business. An idiot will get any insurance with them.

“shocking!!!!”

I had an accident in Oct 2013! Still not solved, even though finally third party admitted liability in Sept 2014! Because third party insurer does not pay the costs back, they want to put as my fault (!!!!) because I haven't returned the questionnaire regarding uninsured losses. I replied to all their paperwork and I received a chase letter in August 2015!!!! Rubish, never use them. The worst experience I ever had. When accident happened they provided me with courtesy car and I put my car in a repair centre chosen by Churchill. They kept my car for repair 5 weeks!!! but my courtesy car was only for 21 days...I had to call them daily basis not to stay without car and be able to get to work. No updates, no phone calls back. Keep away from them!!!

“Stay well away from Churchill, they do not care ”

The third party had reversed into me without looking, which was his fault when I was stationary. I made a claim about it and took pictures of the damage. There was no one there a seen of accident. My car had damage and hardly any to the third parties. The third party had came up with a witnesses that was not there at the scene of accident which Churchill believed the story that third party and witness had lied I drove into him when I did not. The claim department are horrible people to deal with. I did have witnesses but they did not want to get involved and only said to the company they heard the third admit it was his fault in front of them which Churchill should of used but did not. Churchill did not care or bother to deal with my claim properly and gave no advice and did not let me challenge or go to court or want to pay for anything which was needed and charged £800 excess all for nothing which I was not at fault. Now they are saying I am. All they care about is getting money off you, may I advice you all stay well away from this company and find a better one that actually cares about their customers. Churchill are not cheap but just want to take money off you. They are a joke.

My parked car was driven into by a third party insured by churchill. To save paying my excess i went direct to churchill, I phoned them twice and after queing the phone was answered and I was told claim line is shut between 12-1, I called back at 4.40 again after queueing the phone was answered and I was told to call back tommorrow they were too busy to take my claim details.

“Never again with Churchill!!!”

Paying a huge amount of isnurance. Had an accident in May 2014 with a foreign vehicle not our fault. Churchill never phoned us despite promising this on ever occasion I phoned them. Made a forma complain after a year of waiting then they started to apologise and forwarded our case to a legal company. Now they are telling us they can not reach the other party - congratulations Churchill! What did you think after more than a year chasing down a truck driver from Latvia??? I can not wait to close this claim and look for something different!

Omg the same had happened to me, Had an accident in sept foreign driver an they can't find him?? Put me in contact with a legal team an they can't find him but the clsim Is on going still an now Churchill have canceled my policy because I missed a payment do dnt have a clue where my chain stands now I'm so annoyed x

“Expect a fight for refund”

My windscreen broke. The company used by Churchill could not offer me a repair slot before 9 days making my car open to anyone and not being able to drive. The other solution was to arrange it with another company and submit the invoice to Churchill for a refund. On both calls with Churchill, I was told I would be refunded within 4 days. many weeks later, I still have not seen a refund nor did I receive any answer to my email. I would not recommend this insurance to anyone.
