According to Trading Standards, Bonthrone are in administration, but their website is still up. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

This from Windsor trading Standards July 2010:

"We have been advised by Swimbikerun Limited's Company Director that they are now in administration. The administrators, who are now running the company, are called RSM Tenon. We do not know at this stage whether the company is going to be put through liquidation, receivership or insolvency - it is in administration which keeps it trading as a going concern to see if the business can survive. Unfortunately, this means that we cannot continue our investigation under the Enterprise Act 2002 against them. It also means that small claims actions cannot be taken against the company while it is in administration."

I tried to buy shoes from this crowd be warned they are absolute rubbish. The shoes we due on a five day delivery after 10 working days still not arrived after e-mail and calls which were not answered. After 2 weeks finally spoked to someone and requested my money back. They said it would be in my account in the next couple of days still no money after two weeks. Finally went to my back so they could recall my money. DO NOT USE THEM THEY ARE NO BETTER THAN THIEVES.I only gave one star as I had to else I would prefer to give nothing.

I placed an order; an XTR rear mech costing £140 before Christmas and I am still waiting. After contacting them by e-mail, they said "waiting on stock" however is shows in stock on their website. Now, on the site if you click on 'my account' or 'contact us', the link is broken (pretty sure it is deliberate) and it just takes you back to the home page. I have tried ringing several times and no one answers.

What a terrible company to deal with, I placed my order on 11th March and it is still ongoing nearly a month on. They sent me an incorrect item on 15th which I promptly returned on 17th after two days of trying to contact them, they promised to refund my postage costs but I am still waiting for that. I then instructed them to cancel my order twice after not hearing from them for a week. They proceeded to send me another incorrect item on 24th March and now they are totally ignoring my emails. I have just reported them to the trading standards. They are not reachable on the phone, you have to email them but they mostly do not answer back. If you do decide to ring one of their shops, you will not get any help there either. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM!!!!!

Does anyone have a telephone number for these charlatans?
I order some gear in Jan and am still waiting for it, and they have charged my credit card the thieving b*strds.
I've emailed them for a response and haven't heard anything at all.
Their webshite seems to be down so I can't even get an address either to send someone local in to retrieve goods to the same value.

Ordered in early December as they stated they could get one for early January. Repeatedly missed all promised delivery dates - could never get them on the phone & email responses very haphazard. Final email came late on Thursday 1 April to say they were going into administration. So straight onto credit card company!! Terrible experience

Do not buy anything from this retailer, news on the circuit is that they are bankrupt !

Ditto all the following comments this company operates illegally in taking my money for goods not delivered, an absolute shower, this fraudulent company should be shut down. I will also report to trading standards and my credit card company. I will also post warnings with the various cycling bodies.
This company should not be trading therefore no Stars should be awarded.

Ordered parts 2 weeks before I needed them to repair a friends bike. They never turned up, I can't get through to them on the phone and they have failed to respond to any emails!

A complete lack of service in every respect, I'm going to the store next time I'm in the area and have a word or three.

Avoid this company at all costs and use someone reputable like Chain reaction or Wiggle.

sadly I've been conned as many of the guys here. Next time, I know what I have to do before I buy something on line, check review sites like this one. They must be making millions stealing people money. I feel like going to their shop in Windsor and take what is mine!!

zero stars-ordered tyres that were stated as in stock -they took my money when I ordered but 5 weeks later still waiting-I have asked for refund but they do not respond to e-mails and can never get through on the phone. I have now threatened legal action and expect to have to issue county court proceedings.

If you are unlucky enough to get involved with this shower I can only suggest that you be aggressive as possible and threaten legal action if you want to see your money again

They were indicating on their web site they had stock of the cycle shoes I wanted, then as soon as I placed an order they adviced me they did not have any stock? I emailed them back and instructed them not to take any payment until they had dispatched my goods, they ignored my instruction and took payment. I have contacted consumer direct and I have taken advice from them on how to deal with them. Since emailing them to advice them they are in breach of contract with me they have cancelled my order without refunding my money.Think carefully before dealing with this company unless you have money to throw away.

Do not use this company. Their customer service is awful and i wish i never bought my bike from them.

Do not order from this company you will be lucky if you get your goods.They take your money but do not send any thing to you, beware.

Bonthrone Bikes (inc. SBR) Gutted that I had to give them one star because they dont deserve that. Don't be fooled by the flashy website. Bonthrone bikes have provided me with the worst service of any online retailer by far. In fact they haven't provided any service, like many other unhappy customers, they just took my money for goods they advertised as having in stock when they didn't. Still awaiting my refund and have had to go to my bank to dispute the transaction. Only sorry that I didn't check out the reviews first, wish I'd stuck with ribble and wiggle where you always get quality service and there normally very competitive anyway.

Just don't. Complete joke. Nothing arrived, no customer service, my emails answered with excuse after excuse. Threatened legal action to finally get a refund.

Ordered October 09 shown as in stock nothing arrived but credit card debited immediately, much correspondence eventually canceled order Dec 09 still waiting for a refund 27 Jan10. Absolutely appalling service as other reviews. do not touch this company for anything. Wish I had read reviews first

I placed an order on Monday 11th Jan 2010... I had doubts straight away when they did'nt ask me the name on the credit card or where it was reg to. I placed an order for a Cannondale SL6 and a few other bits an pieces amounting to £530, not alot for a bike I know, but that was most of my budget. The web site said the bike was in stock and would be shiped withing 6 - 10 days...(along time for a bike that was in stock). On the 13th Jan I e mailed them to confirm the order as I had'nt had an e mail to confirm. No reply, I called the next day and spoke to a toad called Alex, I asked for a delivery daye so I could book the day off work... he could'nt give me one as the bike was out of stock and he was waiting to hear from Cannondale... I asked why the web site said it was in stock and he replyed by telling me that was Connondales fault as they have a direct feed to there web site...!

I gave him till the 20th Jan 2010 (yesterday) and asked if there was stll a problem with my order. The response I got was its out of stock untill the end of Feb! But I could Pick a bike with roughly the same spec and price if I wanted. I had alook at the web site and found A Felt bike for around the same price and guess what... out of stock haha as was all the other products I ordered (lid, ligts and chain).

I demanded a refund and called my credit card company to inform them as Bonthron bikes informed me that they keep card details on file for a month!!

However... I went on to Wiggle and found a bargin, last years Focus... £300 off!! ordered it last night at 2115hrs, they called me this morning, they are making up the bike, and will have it omorrow morning!! I told the about Bonthron Bikes... so Willge has thrown in 2 inertubes, and a tool kit for the mess about I have had! haha

DO NOT USE BONTHRON BIKES... THEY ARE A DROPSHIP COMPANY AND SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN!!

Same story I'm afraid. Placed order in November 2009; sent three emails enquiring about shipping dates; received two replies, both stating the goods would ship within a week; still waiting. After reading the reviews here I plan to cancel the order and take whatever action I can to get a refund.
