If I could give no stars at all, I would. I've been travelling for 7 years now and A1 Travels is the worst. Not at all reliable, worst customer service, worst vehicle maintainance etc... I would gladly choose a local bus with no cushions over A1 Travels any day! Very unreasonable when comes to refunds and other formalities!

“absolute shambles ”

Firstly A1 rang us after we made our booking to tell us the flights we had booked were not available. This resulted in more baggage expenses and travel costs. Having arrived at our hotel, which we booked due to its lovely coastal outlook and ease of access. We were told the hotel had no room for us. We were moved to another entirely unsuitable hotel. Despite repeated calls to after sales nothing was done to help us. Some staff were down right rude. We have tried to claim compensation but they do not reply. Have now contacted ATAB and are considering small claims court. Never ever use A1 travel.

“Everything went to plan”

Excellent company to deal with, all information accurate and received in plenty of time. Particularly impressed with airport transfers as first time we have visited Kefalonia. PDF and text received to give us details 24 hours in advance, we arrived 30 minutes early but driver at airport waiting for us and easy to recognise had a board with our name on. Will definitely use A1 Travel again to book our holiday. All on time which reduces your stress when having to get to and from airports and hotels really enjoyed the holiday.

“Flight reservation”

Booked a holiday with A1 travel and want to reserve seats on the flight. Ryanair cannot help until they have a flight reservation number which they said A1 travel would know. But A1 travel seem unwilling to respond to several e-mailed requests on the point. I do wonder if I am even booked on the plane.

We booked a holiday I February to Tenerife. Due to my mother's back condition we spent a large amount of time searching for the right hotel (no hills, padded sun loungers, evening entertainment, close to shops and restaurants). We booked out flights and hotel through A1 travel. The booking process was easy (a clear sign it was too good to be true.) On arrival at the hotel we were told that we were not booked into the hotel. The receptionist showed us and email he had received from the tour operator cancelling the reservation and no reason giving. We called the rep who said she had not arrivals that evening! The receptionist went on to say that the hotel was fully booked but as it was getting late we could pay for 1 night and sort in the morning. We did so and got to our room to only then get a call from the rep to say we were a different hotel which was a 15 minute walk up the hill. We went back to reception and the receptionist said "yes your rep was just here". She did not even have the courtesy to see us face to face. long story short the replacement hotel was not up to the hotel we booked. We did make calls to the tour operator's intermediary who apparently make the reservations to be abruptly told that what did we expect them to do we would not be changing hotels and that was that. I price checked the hotel we were in and it was £300 cheaper. On our return we did complain to A1 and of course it was not there fault. After numerous letter no one could explain why the first reservation was cancelled nor produce this email. I did consider making a claim but to be frank I do not have the time or patients to do so. Best advice is do not use them and use a reputable travel agent. I did settle for a small amount of 70 euros which they then sent 2 cheques for. I have then tried to contact A1 to be told a call back then told the lady who deals with complaints only corresponds by email! On reflection I should have read more reviews of them as it seems that a change of hotel is a common problem.

Booked with A1 travel to lanzorote and was not given the correct information on location etc of the hotel I.e was not in the area we was told it was and was in fact very far out from where we was told we would be , after trying to find the said hotel for a few days on line I began to worry as no where could I find it nor any reviews ,after phoning A1 travel on a few occasions I was called back by Lynn , she confirms we was not in the agreed location and changed our hotel to the place we originally had requested to be not sure what would have done had Lynn not be so good at her job ,thank you so so much Lynn

“dis interested sales”

had a quote given by an advisor.. we agreed that she will send me an email and ill check everything and call back to pay.. never got the email.. phoned back a bit later and another advisor was helpful and tried looking for the name of the person I spoke to but couldn't find it.. she finally found a name that sounded similar and said she will email her. She asked me to call back in an hour in case I didn't hear back. Guess what? I just found somewhere else to give my business.

“Avoid like the plague ”

We booked a 4star hotel La Fonda that was advertised on A1 travel for July 2017, I emailed hotel to ask for see view to be told we was definitely not booked in there hotel !! So I checked accomadation voucher to find we were booked into La Fonda apartments 2star !! Completely different place ! Rang A1 to tell them to be told it was a printing error on there site and they was advertising the wrong hotel but would try there best to get us in the one we wanted, 5 days on after numerous calls to be fobbed off with them saying they can not find anything to suit so gave us a refund! We are left with flights but no hotel and the hotel we wanted is now fully booked!! Had I not rang we would have turned up to a awful apartment! Shocking

I booked a holiday for my wife ,myself and my 7yr old grandson to Fuerteventura leaving on the 13th April , unfortunatly my brother was killed in an accident on the 3rd of April i called the company on the 4th and told them we may have to push our holiday back as we didn,t know the date of the funeral , on the 8th we found out the funeral was on the 13th of April the date we were due to fly out, we informed them of this and spoke to a staff member on the 9th i spoke to another operative and we had a call from them this morning saying they could do nothing as we hadn,t given them enough notice !!!! how you give notice of an accidental death is an absolute joke , what a horrible moneygrabbing lot , STAY WELL CLEAR

Didn't get transfer because our hotel told us it would not arrive as lowcost beds had ended. When I informed A1 they told me that we would be refunded the train ticket fee we then had to get to the Airport. Now they are telling me that I am not entitled to a refund because the hotel had misinformed me but that is not my fault and as A1 are the agency which dealt with my holiday they should refund me and then attempt to get it back from the hotel as the hotel refused us our transfers.

I booked through A1 travel via the Icelolly.com website when initially enquiring regarding the hotel & location I asked if this included flights from Bristol? The reply was YES all inclusive with Flights, therefore I approached my colleges who said they would like to go, therefore called A1 with the Icelolly reference the price came back DOUBLE the advertised price ??? how can they advertise at a price which they cannot fulfil ????? something should be done as this is false advertising.

Totally agree. Same holiday, different reference,advertised for 3 consecutive days, yet price had risen by 66% each time I tried to book. Complained to Icelolly.com who were quick to reply saying A1 travel would contact me within 48hrs - 4 days later still waiting. Don't even bother ringing A1 Travel - they shouldn't be allowed to carry on advertising. Hope Icelolly.com take them off their site before they loose their reputation as well.

“Didn't care”

We booked with A1 for me my partner and 2 baby's to go majorca. Our last day we had reception phone us and say come down we went there for them to say lowcost holidays had gone into administration and we had to pay for the holiday again 2500 or they would call the police. They locked us in the hotel. I called A1 who I booked with to be told yes you booked with us but we used lowcost so you have to pay again I said we don't have it and they want to arrest us for them to say well it's nothing to do with us. We had to sneak out the hotel when we could and go to the airport as I didn't want to get arrested with my baby's and didn't have anyone to help pay 2500. They was happy to take our money and earn interest on it but help us they was not interested never again would I use them and also they said if we paid we wouldn't get the money back as it's ATOL protected if they go into administration and they hadn't and as they used lowcost they are ATOL but we didn't go direct from them STAY CLEAR also the airport want 253 to get the car out as they didn't pay that aswel

I was very dissapointed,i paid in full for a holiday and then i got a ph call saying they couldnt do it for that price as the flights went up,only to fi d out my friend booked the same flights same day for what i had first paid i think its bad buissness not to up rade your website daily i could go into more deatail about ph calls but this review would take to long .a,so had to pay a £10 feeor paying by debit card very dissapointed wouldnt use the hotel again that they reccomennded .

“Lack of any customer service. ”

This company gave me the wrong information which very nearly cost me booking another flight. Fortunately the airline was able to change my return flight for £50 instead of booking a complete new flight as advsed by this group of clowns. No one even had the decency to reply to my 2 e mails sent, seem to have fallen on deaf ears. I will avoid using A1 travel in future

“Could not do enough for us!”

Having trawled the internet for deals I ended up calling the 0333 number on teletext website and spoke to a very helpful lady who gave me very competitive prices for 2 holidays. She wasn't pushy at all and gave me a direct line should I want to go ahead with one of the deals. I called back and this is where it got a little messy, but to be fair one of her colleagues was equally helpful with a further query I had. Calling the direct line for a final time I spoke to a third person, who raised the bar in customer service. She demonstrated her desire to help us book the perfect holiday throughout the call and basically could not have done more for us. Well done to her - she needs a raise!!

A1 Travel advertises the low priced packages, but when you try to book them, prices are always £100 - £200 more, therefore you could never get an advertised price. Why the company can't put the real prices, that it will not look, like misrepresentation?

To be honest I do not know what went on with the booking you made but I have used A1 travel quite a few times & I have always found them to be upfront about everything & whatever price was on the screen at the time I booked the holiday is the price that I have paid. I am fairly sure that A1 travel is a LIVE booking agent & therefore the prices are correct at the time of booking. I have also used another agent ("su*****er") a couple of times & found exactly what you said, get the price from the site & they ring you back the next day with a different price altogether, however I've never had a problem like you mention. P.S. I am NOT affiliated to A1 travel in any way. (but reading this back it looks like I am)

I am not sure if you are able to change hotels, you would have to check with A1 Travel. The accommodation is first class but would advise hiring a car to avail yourself access to the bars and restaurants a five to ten minute drive away! Also a car enables you to see and explore the Island. Hope this helps!!!

The hotel itself is fine. B&B option is best as the one occasion I had dinner there I regretted. Very poor. There are many excellent restaurants within walking distance.

Hi, A1 Travel is run by low life merchants who will lie at any cost to make a booking. If you dispute with them they will not give you the time of day. Nobody should be booking a holiday through them as they are not a proper holiday company. Sorry you wasted your money.

I have had two successful bookings with A1 one in Majorca and the other in Corfu and have enjoyed both with no hassles the hotels both times were up to expectations and will be using them again in Club Romani I would recommend a car as you area bit stuck without one although there is a regular bus service
