“Van Mileage Wrong”

My Van was booked into Solus in Cumbernauld near Glasgow for a minor repair to the front near side wing and bumper, the van was in for 8 days (which was fine) before the van was collected i reset the trip meter on my van to zero (as i always do if my van goes into a garage, i did not note the mileage though)i received my van back yesterday and the trip meter is at 77.8 miles (Solus is 10.4 mile from my office)i rang them to ask why there had been so much mileage on my van considering the… Read Full Review

Had a bump...the day after was sat, they called immediately ready to receive my car, it was picked up on time and they even knew that my policy had no courtesy car included adn that i had a 3 year old and a husband away, and so they got me one, for free and delivered it to me....just fantastic...my car was ready in a week and again, total courtesy and timeliness from the team at warrington. Solus have put the estimated completion date of my car back 4 times, and presently blame the delay on 1) My Car being complex and they are not sure how it fits back together 2) being unable to get the electrical system working as it is re-built 3) being unable to source the correct parts (My car is a mercedes so I'd have thought it pretty straightforward to ring up mercedes!!). Solus have had my car now for over 3 months!! Someone went into the back of me Xmas Eve.. Easter has now been and gone.. Still my car is not repaired!! Every part is on back order.. There's always something, they order the wrong parts.. The worst part is my car was fixed 6 weeks ago but they then welded through the hydraulics .. “A shambolic amateur repair sevice”

My car was recently involved in a rear end shunt and had repairs carried out by Solus (no choice in garage as Aviva insurance insist on them). Upon getting my car beck I was initially pleased with the job until I noticed a gap between the back panel and the tailgate which I could insert my finger through! I took the car back Solus and the problem was supposedly fixed i.e. someone battered the tailgate hinge! This vandalism chipped paint on the hinge and housing. The garage is owned by Aviva thus the reason they 'insist' cars are taken there. You do have the opiuon to go to another garage of your choice but you pay a higher excess to exercise this option (the excess doubles in fact). If you are recovering from a thrid party this is not a problem, of course. The other thing customers do not realise is they rarely use manufacturers genuine parts unless no other option, to keep their costs down. Delievery of these parts are not as reliable as manufacturers genuine parts and the parts themselves need 'fettling' to make them fit. The outcome is panel gaps that fit badly and sub standard less durable parts than originally fitted. Beware

This is what happened:

1) Car booked into Solus in Hayes, it was picked up pretty quickly. The customer service was perfect, I was updated along the way with phone calls.

The car was supposed to be delivered but never came and when I asked they said it was going through 'quality check'

i finally get my car delivered but i noticed that the bumper and wheel arch plastic skirting on my Civic was not clipped together properly there was about 1/2 inch gap on both sides.

I am sorry for your experience but I am glad I am not the only one!! I just had a dreadful experience with Solus and received my car back with the fuel light on and not even enough fuel to get me home! (the courtesy car had to be returned with the same amount as delivered, why is this 'courtesty' not returned to the customer?) That is just one of MANY problems with this Aviva owned company,,,,,perhaps a change of insurer is needed so that if I am unfortunate to have another accident I won't be forced to use them again!!

just got my car back today..i think petrol was siphoned too...as I originally had a 1/2 tank and now its just above red ! I had to send the car back as they didnt do all the repairs and came back today with more scratches on it plus a long spray paint mark down the door and they`re
refusing to admit fault and keep saying they didnt even touch that side of the car plus a badge off my car went missing from the same side they supposedly didnt touch . it went back and they`ve just filled it in with a blank one and not correct with model name on it ...
car is filthy too
wish I`d seen these reviews before and refused to send it to them !!!

“Solus are the default repair centre for the RAC and...”

Solus are the default repair centre for the RAC and Aviva ( Norwich Union). From experience they are very slow at carrying out repairs, they seem consistently miss their estimated date completion, they never return your call, they consistently make up excuses.

Expect repairs to take months rather than days, they have stated that a car may take over a week to get a repair slot in the garage, this might be the first repair of many.

i`m afraid they have more than one vehicle to repair each week or do you think they should put all of those on hold just to get yours done(i don`t think so)also no vehicle gets a full valet unless specified by the owner , is washed and hoovered and that`s it,because you keep your vehicle like a tip you can`t expect someone to sort it out for you,do it yourself you lazy melt.
