i have tried to pay my bill twice in 2 days and all i have got is the worst telephone manners i have ever heared. i had a dispute about a previous bill and all i got was nasty remarks spoke over and not been spoke to in a bussines manner the 2 people involved was John Sullivan and Carla morgan.They was ment to get back to me about the out standing bill but never did i would never recommend this company to any one and the sooner i can get away from them the better Mrs Gail Smith (Blackpool)

con merchants!! I am in a battle with Optimum calls because I switched back to BT they want £395 + vat they have a voice recording of me agreeing to a 60 month contract but they wont let me listen to the first call that I had from them! and all the things I was promised. I did not at any point believe I was entering into a five year! contract it was done so sneakily with the 2nd call!!! beware!!!! do not go there!!!!

I tried to switch provider
they told me i was in breach of contract=£395+vat
i was told i agreed to a five year conract verbal,
I requested a copy of my verbal agreement agreeing to 5 years,
I recieved a copy ,
Know where on the copy was a mention of 5 years however there was a mention of a 60 month conract which sounds like 16 months when spoken,
I believe i agreed to a sixteen month contract not a sixty month contract,
{after all who would agree to a 5 year contract for a telephone, its more like a mortgage]
I now use my telephone with optimum calls for incoming calls only
they only get line rental from me,
I use my other phone for outgoing calls.{ha up yours, optimum]
Maybe when theyre business collapses because of bad customer relations they may learn that you only get away with it for a limited time.
in fact i now pay less overall than i did before,

Optimum Calls of Hemel Hempstead: The bad news is that Optimum Calls are still at it. Still attempting to enforce a 60 month cancellation period but now in July 2010 they want £395 (+ VAT). I spoke with Trading Standards, OffCom who put me onto CISAS who are the Ombudsman. But only call CISAS )0300 123 3333) after you have exhausted yourself with Optimum.

Write to later of complaint to Optimum and the first line should say "I am making an official complaint as outlined in your Code of Practice". Also read http://www.optimumcalls.com/code-of-practice.php

They hide this highly restrictive notice period in their T&C it is not stated in any of the marketing literature, nor in their letter only in thin grey type on the back of a letter. Therefore it is not part of any contract. Fight them! I have cover through my Chamber of Commerce whose legal expert said "they were at it" ask for a copy of the contract or recording.

I agree they are only signing people up to fleece them on the way out.

I have also complained to Trading Standards and ask you to do the same if it will help.

I was miss-sold a product in that they told me I would save money over BT but infact I am paying a lot more, I only discovered the 5 yr contract and £365 canncellation fee when I attempted to cancell, be aware!! I am now waiting for the recording to confirm I was informed of the contract (Im sure they will have said someting along the lines of 'do you agree with the terms' and stupid me will have said yes without seeing them), please learn by the mistakes of other and stay clear.

I wouldnt recommend these people. In my my opinion "these people are disseased parasites and if they wernt working for optimum I suspect they'd be picking pockets or selling smack".

Unhelpful, not to be trusted. 5 year contract is hard to get out of, even after 5 years. I beleive I was slammed by these people and face an uphill battle.

I've had dealings with these guys and let me tell you they are more focussed on the cancellation fees than putting right any errors. I managed to get out and I'm suing them for multiple breach's of contract through their regulator, CISAS. But I warn you that you are UP AGAINST IT. They will swoop to any level in their defense, they are all in it together, from the initial sales call to the very last drop of blood.

I offered for them to take over my business line, which they never did and instead took what they could from my home line given only as a contact number and used my bank details and the threat of bailiffs to rob me blind.

Having tried to move call provider to bt from optimum I find out that I
am tied into a five year contract that I didn,t realize.

I feel conned and then within 5 minutes of receiving the termination of contract fee of £395.00 plus vat per line (928.26) for 2 lines I am harrassed to pay or they will disconnect my service. Knowing that I am going to be without phone until b t can reconnect that is almost another week I agree to pay the termination fee and am now waiting on optimum re-connecting me. Can't wait to move wish I had never heard of Optimum.

Optium with bt open reach offer. This company contacted me cold calling i asked to if these details could be view on line, the saleman however pointed out i had ten days to cancel under the distance selling regulation telling me if i was not interested to just bin the info when it came in the post if i was not interested as no obligation to buy. I then got put onto supervisor who wanted me bank details,as i had said i would not be giving any such details till i knew more, got put onto supervisor who tried to pursuade me to give bank details saying not safe to put written details in post, which is why the wanted to take them via phone, I pointed out not safe to give details, to someone on the other end of the phone, who could be any one and that i would not give bank details..he hung up. he was pushy arrogant and belittling in the way he spoke..wont be interested ever with this company if thats what their sales people are like regardless of product i gave rating one because i had to leave some rating..nothing was not possible

Beware of aggressive telesales staff. Once you challenge them they will simply hang up without even saying goodbye! I'm sure its a genuine good deal for the minute but a FIVE YEAR contract is a long time in this world.

Beware of sales people promising the earth and no recordings of their sales talk available to verify promises made. You are then contacted to be given a defined statement of what you have ordered which is very 'economical' with arrangements agreed with the sales team. This conversation is recorded and they refer to this when you have not been provided with what they promised. In my opinion they exercise sharp practice. Do not expect to be able to contact them at any time either as they work strictly office hours which is uselesss if you are out all day and wish to contact them in an evening as you could do with BT. I wish i had not left BT.

I was completely missold this service and was told by CICAS to write and say I wanted out of the contract with no penalties. I also wrote to our local MP.
I had plenty ammunition as I had been charged for calls I know we never made, and could prove it. After a lengthy period I received a call from Optimum saying they would release me from the contract, and was I happy with that. I said yes, but I wanted a refund on all the calls I had been charged for and hadn't made. I then wrote to CICAS again, officially, and sent Optimum a breakdown of these spurious calls. I did receive a cheque for that amount and I thought all was well. HOWEVER I have discovered that , although I no longer have a contract with them, they are still taking money out of my account. When I discovered this I went straight to my bank and cancelled the direct debit. Thet either do not know what they are doing, or tehy are fleecing people on a grand scale

Capped Rates ( but only for the first year!!)
50% line rental reduces to 15%

They wont send you the terms and conditions before hand!! Wonder why??

Salesman very rude and agressive.

Both mine and my partners businesses have been with Optimum Calls for around 8 months now and once have experienced any problems. Although I must add that BT did try the to 'scare'us into believing that everything will go wrong if we sign up and lines will be terminated, which we found out to rubbish. BT will continue to make so much money from customers and such high prices, but when given an opportunity to save mine and my partners company around £800 a year on call charges and line rental I think you would have to be a very poor bussiness person to let oppotunities like this or any other money saving trick go pass without saying yes.

An absolute disgrace. I was 'slammed' by this company. Despite telling their hard-sell salesman that I was not prepared to sign up on the basis of a telephone call, they signed me up and BT disconnected my service, thus leaving me with no telephone and two businesses to run. Needless to say I cancelled the service (that I had not agreed to) immediately but was still left without the ability to trade for some days. I have placed a complaint with OFCOM and intend to take legal action against these crooks.

Who diconnected your line? it would have been BT openreach as they run the core network. Companies like Optimum are only a billing provider. BT retail are only a billing provider. Purely uneducated on how telephone lines/companies work and instead of passing your billing onto Optimum, BT RETAIL have instructed BT OPENREACH to stop your lines. Optimum would only generate revenue from you using the BT OPENREACH network billed by them so why would they switch your line off? Idiotic comment and your complaint is being directed at the wrong people

have a careful look at their T&C's FIRST: 60month contract, £365 early cancelation charge, 50% off line rental reverts to 15% after a year, 4p connection charge per call (0.9p/min not so relevant if you make lots of short calls). Glad I cancelled before too late. These are my interpretations of their terms - check them out on their site to judge yourself

I was missold this service.They told me it would be cheaper than BT I now pay more. Also I get charged for calls I did not make. My last bill says I phone a mobile number 64 times. This is completely eroneous. I called the number. They don't know me I don't know them. I email them re this and don't even get a replyIn my opinion this is a rogue company

read the terms and conditions carefully! telesales promise the earth and the T&C's dont match them! 5 year contracts, huge buy out clause, mimimum monthly spends required, tele sales wil tell you to ignore the t&c's, turn them down and they keep phoning and finally become rude and insulting - a company to avoid!!
