DO NOT USE - SCAM ARTISTS!

I sent them my Sony Ericcson at the end of January, stupidly because they offered £5 more for it than other sites. After waiting for six weeks and my Order Status not changing, I emailed them to ask what was happening. In fact, they didn't reply to my first email but replied very quickly when I emailed a second time threatening to contact Watchdog and Trading Standards! They claimed that they'd never received my phone, but told me that as it was sent using their Freepost service I could contact Royal Mail who apparently track all Freepost packages and refund me the cost of the lost phone. Two emails and several attempts to contact Royal Mail later, I discovered that the info SellOldPhone gave me was cr*p...in fact, they are just billed monthly for their total Freepost costs, and as they are the 'customer' with this service, THEY are the only ones who can claim for lost parcels. Several emails later explaining this during which they still maintained I had to claim to Royal Mail, and now they say (eventually, are several chase emails) that their Terms & Conditions state that it's my responsibility to ensure the phone arrives with them safely. As the phone was only worth £35 to them and I've NEVER had any problems using online recycling companies before (namely Mopay.co.uk), I'd trusted SellOldPhone would be ok, but in future I will definitely use Mopay.

Stay away from SellOldPhone. Please!

DREADFUL, please do not use this company. I have reported them to Trading Standards and Consumer Direct. They need as many people to complain as possible in order to take complaints seriously.
I sent my phone to them expecting over £100. They downgraded it to £30 stating it was water damaged. It has never been near water, and was working perfectly when it left my house.
Please use a different company. If I could leave a no star rating I would - even 1 star is too high.

They say they will give you a good price but you either get hardly anything or nothing and then expect you to pay them to return _your_ phones! I really don't recommend you _ever_ do business with these conmen.

I sent my mobile to them 3 weeks ago and have not received any money! I have emailed them on a number of occassions to receive an automated email advising it could take up to 14 day....IT'S BEEN 3 WEEKS!!! Don't use this company they are a scam! I have also told them the money was going towards the charity skydive I will be doing in April for help for heroes they still didn't seem to care... I just wish I used o2

If anyone is contemplating using this company then my advice is to look elsewhere.I decided to use them as i was getting more money from them.My phone was received by them on 12/1/10 and payment was sent 17/1/10. After receiving nothing through the mail after a week i decided to e-mail them to see what was going on? 4 e-mails later there was still no reply from them and of course there is no contact number on the website I had to go through 118-118 to get a contact number. And like others who have unfortunately used them my money was meant to have been sent the day before and i would get it 2-3 days later.I thought at last I was getting somewhere then all of a sudden i received a reply to my previous e-mails the next day saying that my cheque was with the accounts department awaiting payment still not had any money from them at all. If you need to get in touch with them try using this number 01915362375 . Also make sure you send your phone registered mail or you wont have a chance of receiving anything. Do not use these rogue traders go to a more established company and get slightly less money or be prepared for a fight for your cash

I used sell old phone and love to recycle, sell old phone sent my payment out within 7days for the amount of £119.50 which I was quoted on-line. The payment which I got from love to recycle was only for £26.50 which should have been £66.50 and I didnt recive payment untill I called to complete after 4weeks. I would never use love to recycle as they didnt even send me payment untill I complaint.

emailed them after 18 days asking where payment was. Oh, surprise, it was sent "yesterday". This was 14 days ago.

So, now, here we are, 28 days later and still nothing.

I have used various other phone recycle sites without any issue at all!!

Won't be touching these bandits again.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They are con artists, utter rubbish. I sent 2 phones to be promised with £76.06 and received £45 without consulting me! I am fuming, when I sent an email they can't even be bothered to reply.I believe now, had I not sent them registered I wouldn't have received a penny. Don't take any notice of the stars either cos they don't deserve any, Had to mark one tho so I could send this review.

Do not use Sell Old Phones as it is a complete scam! I sent my Nokia N95 to them almost four weeks ago and although I received an E-Mail witihn 7 days stating my cheque was on its way I've received nothing! I used this Company because they offered the best deal and now I have nothing to show for a perfectly good phone! I'm going to report them to Trading Standards and see if they can help.
Please, please, please do not use this Company - you have been warned!!

I recently had a nokia 6300 phone to trade in. I shopped through the various sites getting prices. selloldphone.co.uk quoted the highest price for the handset along with one other site. Four weeks after placing the order on-line I final received a cheque for £15 less that the quoted price. Only explanation was a 2 line letter saying the screen was chipped (I know it wasn't) and referring me to their grading system in their terms and conditions (which aren't even on the screen when you click to accept them). Don't use this company, they quote high prices then send you a cheque for significantly less money,
