We have stayed at Waterside Cottage before. The booking process was very simple and straightforward via Sykes website and their liason with us prior to our holiday was excellent. As before, the cottage was to a high standard and spotlessly clean. Some lovely personal touches, such as fresh local produce left at the cottage for us and we felt at home immediately. Would highly recommend Sykes and Waterside Cottage.

A group of 5 wished to meet up for the weekend. After reviewing areas of the country we decided on an areaarea of yorkshire and used the Sykes website to find potential accomodation.We were particularly interested in some form of self catering and utilised the Sykes website to reduce the options to those relevant to the area we were considering. There was plenty of information on which to evaluate our choice. Having selected our preferred accomodation it was a simple matter to confirm availability for our chosen dates. The booking process was simple and everything went smoothly. Impostantly the accomodation exceeded our expectations and were we delighted with our overall experience.

As soon as you open the door to Rose Cottage you just know you made the absolute right choice. Where to begin. The amazing views over the River Wharfe, the standard of the furniture and fittings or just the lovely tranquial feel of the place. If that wasn't enough you then go upstairs to the two most luxuious bedrooms with en-suites. Holidaying in the winter it was lovely to have a warm cottage to come back to at any time. The position of Rose Cotage so near to Grassington is a real plus point not to mention all the walks right from the door. The owners are to be congratulated on thinking of and supplying almost everything you could wish for to make your holiday special.

The holiday was easy to book and all enquiries were quickly answered by the telephone operative. It is the second time I have booked with Sykes and both times everything has gone smoothly. The accommodation was as I had expected it to be which made for an enoyable holiday

Lovely location with plenty of peace and quiet. A very welcomming owner who left us alone to enjoy the holiday. I would recomend the cottage provided you have transport as its a little remote.

Friendly helpful host. Very comfortable cottage for two in a very convenient place for access to Ironbridge and the fantastic Shropshire Countryside. You are in the midst of a working farm up a narrow track, well away from noise of traffic etc. The cottage has very comfortable facilities and was a pleasure to return to after a day exploring. It was very clean and warm. We tended to eat in as we were there in late Autumn and were tired by the time we got in. The only slight criticsm we had was that there were no washing up materials provided. Most such lets have some washing up liquid, dish cloth and scourer. We bought our own and took them home with us so it was not a major problem. The welcoming cakes were a very pleasant plus. We would definitely recommend it and may well return in the future.

We spent a week in November so a bit chilly but the cottage was warm and welcoming. In fact we had fairly good weather too. Lots of activities to do close by. We had a wonderful time with our Springer Spaniel, one of the most relaxing holidays ever! Remote and romantic too! First class accommodation with all mod cons (something we miss living on a house boat!

Our cottage in Barnard Castle was very clean with every thing you would wish for in your own home. It was dog friendly with plenty of wonderful wlks on the doorstep. I would certainly use Sykes Cottages again.

The process of finding a suitable cottage and performing the booking was very straightforward and easy. There were no technical problems and the choice of available cottages was large. The communication after the booking and payment process was also very smooth and problem free. More choice of payment methods would be nice, such as via PayPal or international bank transfer. Also it would be great to have the option to make a deposit for cottages booked well in advance. Our holiday at the cottage we booked was also great and we would definitely use Sykes Cottages again.

Found a beautiful property in Scotland on Holiday Lettings website costing £458. Noticed that Sykes Cottages were listed as the booking contact so went to their website to see if it would be cheaper to book direct. However, they listed the same property on the same date for £469. When I queried it they said there was an error on the HL website and that the higher price was correct. I mulled it over and decided to ask if Sykes would honour the lower price, as a gesture of good faith. They wouldn't, so I didn't book it. Know it seems petty but it's the principle of the thing - if you find an item on a shelf in a shop labelled at a lower price than shown on the shelf itself, then, under Trading Standards the store has to honour the label price. I feel Sykes should have done the same, especially as they charge an exhorbitant £35 booking fee. Hoseasons don't and in future I'll stick with them
