I bought a cook ready meal , pork d’ijon - which I had before , it’s a delicious taste, though a v small portion for one person , but the meat quality Iwas terrible . Not sure how a delicious taste is created but to let the meat go so of course . It wouldbe better to have queen in there than pork which tastes and feels in the mouth like sawdust.

Have been using Cook over the last four months or so with mixed results, we were hoping to find a quality, dependable supplier of decent ready meals for those times when we didn't want to cook from scratch at home. Quality and particularly portion size are recurring issues. Most of the meals that are supposed to serve 2 really don't. Notable disappointments were the fish pie - the mash was watery, plenty of prawns but barely any salmon and the haddock tasted off - with bones to add insult to injury! The chicken, ham and leek pie was poor - no ham and barely detectable leek - this isn't good enough. Curries were a mixed bag but again the small portion size is a serious issue Roasted vegetable lasagne has been good so far, but we will not be buying again unless we find a big improvement in quality and quantity

I ordered from them a good two months before Christmas as my husband is critically ill and I could not face it any other way. The notification came up on my phone from the credit card company when I ordered and it said order placed. Delivery was arriving on 21st. Great. I looked at the website saved on my phone and it looked like my order wasn't there. Sure enough, on calling my payment hadn't gone through. I now have nothing for Christmas. I should have realised apparently because there was no confirmation email???? No attempt was made to let me know there was an issue over the following weeks. Thanks for nothing.

I purchased two Chicken Alexandra’s for a Family lunch. There was hardly any chicken in heavy tasteless sauce There really was enough sauce left over for another two meals. I also bought the lemon cheese cake which when defrosted was more like a mousse. No lemon flavour. We all love lemon cheesecake, a favourite. But this was so disappointing. The assistant said she was buying for the weekend so that was encouraging. This was not the lunch I planned for.

Too much salt in Moussaka, chicken and leek pie, tarragon chicken and pork Dijon. Got a couple more meals in the freezer but not looking forward to them. Chicken a bit chewy in two dishes. Moussaka very dry.

We have used Cook for years. Always happy with the quality until the last 2 dishes this year. Meatballs, metallic taste, Cook said 'nothing has changed'. Tonight Lasagne, 'tasted of plastic'. Will report to Cook but if we eat another from our store and find similar, will not buy again.

This review is after receiving an email in regards to a complaint I made in regards to cash being refused as a payment method. Need less to say, my family and I left the shop without goods and will be sure to get the thousands of people on keep cash groups to boycott this business. My brother got the exact same reply. No personal touch at all, and this company had the cheek to talk up how they care about communities etc. Fact, con-vid 19 cannot contaminate cash as it's a dead cell. Just because we can't all be emailing complaints due to having busy and stressful life's doesn't mean people aren't annoyed at their legal tender being turned down. Most will just boycott and this company will lose a lot more revenue as more and.more people support keeping cash. A cashless society makes.it hard for the very people you claim to care about. If I could give a zero you'd have got that and not scored anything. Your shop staff however were apologetic and didn't like your no cash stance either. If things get tough for this company I won't shed any tears. We reep what we sow.

I was so disappointed with this meal and I was really looking forward to it. It was small, with only two tiny dumplings, but worst of all it tasted horrible. It had a nasty aftertaste. Meat was fairly good quality. Very poor value for money.

We haven't used Cook for a while, as we think they are not as good as they once were. Not only quality, but like most retailers - the portions, we believe, have got smaller over time for the same cost. Tonight though we did use them as need a quick meal, but sadly wished we hadn't. Crab linguine (for 2), though it was a nice flavour, it was cooked exactly by their instructions - in a 900W microwave and stirring half way through. Pasta was very over cooked - we mean VERY! Perhaps, if you try it, is to reduce the time and test/taste during cooking - but don't follow their instructions. We bought the kids a single Carbonara to share - same problem with the pasta. And they rarely moan when eating pasta. If you like garlic bread with your pasta, Cook do a garlic Ciabatta (the only garlic bread they do). It would be fine if garlic and butter - but it was just Ciabatta and garlic. Buy elsewhere or add butter (presuming you like proper garlic bread!) Think we've cooked better from fresh (yes - even crab linguine!). Won't do again.

I use Cook quite regularly and yes the portions are quite small but the quality is great. Cost the same as some other highstreet brands and are far superior. Just ordered for my mum's 90th birthday and everything looks lovely and professional. Always deliver when they say they will.

Lamb Casserole with A Quarter of a New Potatoe. This was the worst ready meal I have ever purchased. The meat was chewy 2 bits of potatoe Altogether a very poor meal. If you could give me my money back I would be welcome. I was looking forward to an Easter Sunday lunch, what a let down. I can purchase 3 or 4 meals from other sources for the same price and they are 100% better. All I ask is for a refund.

Have just filled an extensive review of our thoughts about Cook - on a Trustpilot based questionaire - but there is no 'SUBMIT' icon !

Fell apart while cooking, too much pastry not enough filling. Not worth the £18. I Won’t be lazy next , I’ll make m own for a fraction of he cost.

Having read the online reviews I was a little apprehensive but decided to try for myself. My initial impression was that my Pork Dijon was bland. However I stirred it and the taste came to life. On re-reading the instructions I saw that it must be well stirred before serving. I think it would help if this was made more obvious.

The Garlic Chicken Curry is vile for some reason, plenty of chicken but not a nice taste. However yesterday's Prawn Karachi was delicious if a little short in prawns. If I owned COOK I'd have a system for buyers to review each dish, so I could weed out the unsuccessful ones ♥️ -You're welcome COOK

Cook's Dijon chicken. Really so disappointing. Struggled to get through it. No flavour if anything except too much rosemary flavour on the chicken which I wasn't expecting and NO dijon mustard flavour. Not creamy either and caramelised onion??? Onion but no flavour ....watery and frankly revolting. At £7.75 for two.. Actually nasty to be honest.

I tried the meals for the first time after they had been recommended by a neighbour. I spent £36.00 in order to get the free delivery, so had a good opportunity to taste several dishes. I thought some meals were ok but many were bland with all gravy and not much meat. The portion sizes are truly shockingly small and would hardly feed a toddler. The lamb casserole with new potatoes made me think they were really having a joke. The 'potatoes' consisted of one very small potato chopped into bight size pieces and a lot of gravy. I have just eaten their nasi goreng which tasted ok (but sugary) but consisted of hardly evident pork (9%) and chicken(14%) and I would challenge that! 39% is rice so to charge £4 is a joke. I had a better ready meal from Aldi, the ingredients of which were surprisingly healthyish and half the price. I made a complaint to Cook and they said there were plenty of side dishes to order to make up for the small portions. And since they said they were looking at better options for the plastic trays I suggested they use hemp, which is far more sustainable and they could well afford to give back something from what must be substantial profits. They didn't comment on that. One more meal in the freezer and that will be the last.

Just had the Cook fish pie. It was awful all mash potato and very little fish. What taste there was over whelmed by salt and was very dry. It was without hesitation I can say this was the worse fish pie I have had. To pay 8.50 for fish flavoured mash is diabolical.

Fine packaging makes it seem like a superior product and at a price! The moussaka looked very appetizing from the oven but it was really tasteless. Very disappointing.
