Was abit disapointed at some of the reviews on here saying it wasnt a great circus but myself, husband and our 3yr old daughter went to see zippos on opening night in our town and it was amazing! At 1st we thought it was expensive but after seeing the show thought it was well worth the money it was a good laugh and atmosphere we had paid for deluxe ring seats and they were brilliant we were smack bang in front of the ring it was perfect! Loved all the light toys they were selling and they were resonably priced so little one got one of those. The staff were really friendly aswel would defo recommend going to see this at least once we will be going next year for sure was actually going to go to the night show the next day as we enjoyed it so much!

I don't usually motivate myself to give reviews but these guys deserve one for what is good value entertainment containing things you just can't see anywhere else. The fact Zippos survives today is testament to how they've adapted what is expected from a circus. Of course sad, exotic animals are a big no-no these days. You can expect to see horses and budgies animal wise, that's it. To say the performers treat them well would not be fair to the performers as professionals, you can see they are each absolutely in love with their animals. This is what they do. You're more likely to have a problem with the dogs at Crufts than anything you'll see at Zippos. I go horse racing and Zippos horses didn't look healthy: they looked properly fit -and happy! The remaining acts are all great fun and drew plenty of audience wide gasps from their routines. Great stuff. As soon as you enter the 'big top' you start to feel the magic as your kids eyes light up. Oh and gentlemen: plenty, just plenty of eye candy. All in very good taste, but wow! ..and ladies: bristling abs and beach physiques everywhere. You'll love it Really glad we went and recommend you do to.

Incredible circus but we would warn people about the dog guarding the horses. I had taken my 2 year old over to see the horses during the intermission (they were in full view on the way to the toilets) but she was terribly scared by a large dog who lunged towards us barking, which I was told guards the horses. I would love to hear that they have a person looking after them even if just during the intermission when little ones may try to go and get a closer look at these amazing animals.

the music was over amplified and almost deafening. one five year old in our part was so frightened by the noise he had to be taken out and would not return. We asked for the volume to be turned down but no luck; those of us who stayed loved the budgies. The horses looked a bit unhappy; a bit ribby and had ears back. Acrobats good but clowns a bit jaded. Our enjoyment was reasonable but marred by the excess noise in what is after all mainly visual entertainment

While Zippo's circus was in oxford I thought it would be a bit of fun to give it a try. I was a bit concerned about the £39 for two delux tickets but my god I was wrong. For what I payed for it was a brilliant, amazing, fun and exciting evening. It was lovely and warm In the tent and the seats were comfy! Although some of the staff didn't speak very good English they were still polite, happy and seemed to enjoy themselves as the transformed into people dancing from the ceiling and running around with horse. The food prices were a little steep and be sure to bring an extra £5 for a photo with Hercules the resedent strong man. I promise you that you will make lasting memory's and will feel yourself longing for more . I will be coming back again ! And suggesting to everyone I see.

I organized my daughter's Birthday party at the circus .we were very disappointed and our treatment had nothing to do with what they state on the website. We had no personal welcome from any Zippos Clowns; the reserved tables and chairs in the foyer area were not clean but especially nobody really looked after us. you have to cut your own cake and serve it (bring your own knife!). the food was awful (stale bread) During the performance, they didn’t make any announcement and didn’t invite my girl so the audience sang 'Happy Birthday to You' to other children but not my daughter. When I run to the staff to complain they told me I was supposed to leave my name to somebody but nobody had told me that. In any case it was obvious, since we were having the Birthday party there. We were not presented any special gift, on behalf Zippos Circus.Actually most of the staff was short and rude. the show wasn't particularly exciting either . there was so much smoke from the motorbikers and the children started coughing. Unfortunately they did “ create those lasting family memories” but it was one to forget. My daughter was indeed very upset by the whole experience. Not recommended.

I saw the show last night in Twickenham. It was a preview but it all went smoothly. You get everything you expect from a circus; clowns, animals (horses, dog and birds), acrobats and more acrobats. Some parts were very good, some good, some funny, but the last act with motorbikes spinning in a cage was incredible. My 5 year old daughter enjoyed it too :).

We took our son and grandaughter on a wet summer night, and thought it was going to be a cold washout, having not been to a circus before, but what a great time we had. It was lovely and warm inside and we got a free carton of popcorn, and although we booked the cheaper restricted seats, we didn't miss anything and got a good view. The trapeze artist Chenoa was great and the Cuban acrobats were brilliant, but our favourites were the Brazilian motor cyclist team and the finale was excellent. They rode in a metal globe, very similar to the "Wall of Death", but much smaller and finished up with four of them riding in it. All the acts were very good and our grandaugher absolutely loved it, would highly recommend it.

Do not pay any attention to the negative reviews on here. If you get the chance go to Zippos and take the whole family. It's a mix of good old fashioned entertainment and the most thrilling acts I've seen in a long time, if not ever. The whole thing was warm, welcoming and friendly and I will definitely go back. I don't know what the negative reviewers were watching, but it clearly wasn't the same show we saw. I'm running off to join the circus...Zippos circus!

Just returned from a fantastic night out at Zippo's Circus with my family;mum, dad and 8yr old daughter. We all loved the show.I recommend Zippo's circus for the young and the young at heart.A mixture of traditional and contemporary, the acts are richly diverse, captivating ,exciting,funny...Superb!I am shocked to have read negative comments regarding the clowns;utter nonsense. The clowns demonstrated a great understanding of physical comedy, they were witty, sweet and an intergral part of the show.I have nothing negative to say about the show. Please support live entertainment and give Zippo's Circus the credit and respect it deserves.I look forward to catching the show next year and for many years to come.Well done and thanks to all at Zippo's.

PLEASE DON'T TAKE ANY NOTICE OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ON THIS SITE! NOT TRUE FOR US! I must admit, I might not have bought tickets if I had read some of these reviews....but we were lucky enough to win family tickets for Zippo's at Gateshead Metrocentre! We had ring side seats and it was an AMAZING show! Myself and two boys (aged 9 and 6) loved all the acts - from start to finish! It was entertaining all the way through and the acts are just so professional and entertaining. Could not have wised for a better circus experience - thank you Zippo's :)

Went to circus in Mitcham with my two granddaughters, aged 3. We had ringside seats and the noise coming from the loudspeakers was so overwhelming that it frightened the girls who started to cry, and we had to leave. We saw the circus last year at Twickenham which was excellent. Unfortunately this year was ruined by the unbearable noise which seemed to have been turned up to the maximum as to drum up some kind of atmosphere as the arena was almost empty.

overall the show was good .one criticism the clowns were good but disappointedly NOT DRESSED AS CLOWNS .please keep the clown tradition going. Our grandchildren kept asking " where are the clowns" .

from the moment we got there we were dissappointed. After paying an online booking fee, the seats we booked had been taken. Popcorn was stale, chips were horrible. You pay £5 for your child to touch a pony for 5 seconds, no ride or anything. every act feels like a filler, like there are just wasting time but never actually get to the good acts. Total waste of money and tile

You can please some of the people some of the time, you cant please all of the people allof the time I suppose? Obviously from other reviews here most people disagree with you. Its not fair or true of you to say "You pay £5 for your child to touch a pony for 5 seconds". Its FREE to touch the pony, you pay £5 for your childs photograph with the pony. Why lie? Are you an animal rights activist??

Absolute rubbish not funny not worth a single penny better off staying in and watching the chuckle brothers on cbbc. Ringmaster looked well to old to be mc thought he was going to have a bloody heart attack at one stage! and his act with those budgies was just right damn cruel I will be reporting this to the rspca.

The ringmaster happens to be the greatest ringmaster in the world norman Barret and he use to be be at Blackpool tower circus for many years, and was given the big red book from this is your life. How the hell can you say he mistreats his budgies? There are many pets that live in back gardens that are more mistreated. Budgies enjoy doing tricks like that. The ringmaster maybe old but he doesn't want to retire yet there is a video of him on youtube about him.

I totally agree. I seen one of their shows last night, and it was heartbreaking.
The horses eyes were filled with terror. It also looked like one of the horses was whipped on the muzzle whilst being forced to do a 360 degree turn on it's hind legs.
.utter, barbaric cruelty! Never again!

I went to expecting a level of excitment and acrobatings, what I saw was 70% clowning and not funny clowning at that, and high school gymnastics. The only thing good was the motobike riding int he globe thing, the rest was aweful.

We went along to the Zippos circus (with horses...) on Twickenham Green with our 3 year old as a bit of a treat for her. She absolutely loved it - she was entranced by the acrobats and the horses - she was less keen on the 'comedy' elements (mainly because they weren't that funny I think!) but overall she loved it When we booked there was no indication of how long it was - and we had to leave well before the end as we'd been there for around 2 hours and had to get back our daughters dinner time. So, shamed we missed some of it, but what we did see was excellent Next time I think we'll take some sandwiches and go for an earlier show Definitely recommend it for younger children.

It is clowning such as the audience were presented with at Preston, that puts another nail in the coffin of the travelling circus in Britain. The clown puts a lot of effort into getting the audience to shout and scream and considerably less into being as funny as clowns are meant to be, but more about this later. The act themselves were more slanted towards grace and elegance than absolute danger. Danger was, as always, in the elevated acts of course, but it was not highlighted as it should. Contortionists, juggling and a unicycle act, are only dangerous if the contortionists have bad backs, the juggler drops an Indian club on his head, and perhaps the unicyclist gets a slow puncture !! The acts were all good at what they did, some having more than one act, but the African troupe were particular exciting to watch. It was a lovely touch that at the end of the show, that the artists lined up at the public entrance/exit to thank the folks for coming. Now back to the clown. He was only really funny when his colleague joined him for the good old fashioned slapstick. There was water and foam everywhere. I was glad I was not ringside as they got a good share of all the goo. It was quite hilarious and what `proper` clowning should really be about. Blowing a football whistle instead of doing something humourous for 10 minutes, quickly gets boring and is only funny for the first couple of minutes. Zippos Circus (Phoenix) is good with very acceptable productiion values, but really, the clown should stop wasting a lot of time with trying to elicit a public response and by blowing football whistles, instead he should be concentrating of being funny. If he does this, the public response will take care of itself.

Zippos Circus is good family entertainment with quality acts, although I would make the following negative comments: the duration is slightly long due to an over-long interval, and I was slightly un-nerved by the lack of a safety-net as there were several acts that could have used such a safety device. The tight-rope act was breath-taking, but they did appear to lose their balance part-way through their act (although this may have been part of the act, of course). However, with a number of children present it would have been reassuring to see this device in place.

Very sorry the music was too loud. This was a technical problem which has now been fixed. Much better music for everyone to enjoy at Zippos circus now!
