“Cancelled Insurance without Contact”

Been with M&S for nearly two years and l knew my policy was coming up in May so l contacted them for a price so for the following years insurance, l was told we are not insured with them as they had cancelled the policy! Clearly shocked at this l asked how come? My Bank had not paid a direct debt payment, despite the fact we have never been overdrawn, and hence the policy had been cancelled SINCE MARCH 26TH!...no phone call...no email...no letter from M&S or the Bank, we have made an appointment to our bank manager face to face. Could you imagine if we injured someone, damaged another car, or my family had been injured...6+ plus weeks and 2000+ miles driving without insurance. Complaints have been lodged with M&S and we will deal with the Bank directly at the end of the week. You wouldnt imagine M&S could fail customers on something so basic....think again and go else where for you insurance needs

Terrible castimer service! Very disappointed, They took our money without telling us and don't want to give it back! Do Not go with this company!

“If M&S stores were run like this they would all be closed.”

I have been with M&S for 2 years, with no claims, no accidents, no speeding, no change of circumstances etc. You might think when your renewal comes through it would show a reduction, after all I have just qualified for an extra year of no claims discount and have not cost M&S a penny. Well you would be disappointed, as was I. Instead I get a 41% increase in premiums, when I query it, do I get an explanation? NO, instead I get fobbed off with a "we can't give a reason, it could be many things, when I ask to talk to a manager, I get fobbed off again with "no one is available" (5 times - they are always not available or too busy) Basically if you wish to have exceptionally poor customer service, be very frustrated, get treated like an idiot and end up costing you time and money by having to go elsewhere, then go ahead. If you want to be treated like a human being and a valued customer then try any other insurance company. M&S - in this case stands for MUCK YOU ABOUT & SWERVE ALL RESPONSIBILITY. A really terrible organisation. I wish I could review them with a minus number of stars, one is far too many.

“change of address”

Rang to change my address as I had moved house. Was charged £25 for admin charges and the cost of talking to them. I said I didn't want any paperwork. This week I've had 3 letters confirming my change of address! Also they put the monthly payment up by £2. Its a rip off.

“Worst Car Insurance EVER”

Changed car insurance as looked good comparatively. Wished I hadn't. I am a little comforted that I am not alone in an awful experience with Marks and Spencer Car Insurance. I was not in my car when it was hit but have been made to pay the excess and is down as my fault on the record. Passed from pillar to post no one taking any responsibility. All very stressful. I fear is a nightmare that wont end any time soon as now I have been contacted by some credit agreement company which I have never heard of .. I wonder is this yet another company I am being passed around to by Marks and Spencer ??.

“Don't use M&S”

We brought a new car want £25 to add the car extra £100 for the new car, only a ford. If we wanted to cancel £50, such a rip off. Pay a little more and go with a proper car insurance company. no an expensive food shop!

“Not the quality you'd expect from M&S”

Firstly we changed car and got free breakdown, and expected a saving none was given. I then realised that my job title and place of work was out of date. Charged £25 to change that. I understand major changes can occur, but job title? Repeated warnings that all details must be accurate do not give confidence, and expectation they will try and wriggle out of claims. This is bargain basement tactics, not M&S Car Insurance. Best avoided, and never again.

“Car insurance a farce”

This is the first time I have taken out car insurance with marks and Spencer I will not be doing it again II had an accident which at the moment is being dealt with due to determining liability and have been passed to about four different people at different companies . They even got me a lawyer who was the same lawyer for the third party. There is no one to own the case as everyone works for different companies. This has been the most stressful time and no one guides you through it . Even the repair company put obstacles in your way as to when it will get fixed and how long it will take also do iit in such a way that I eventually took the car to them and am going to pick up the courtesy car myself or have the option of staying in for eight hours. No one to complain to as this has no marks and spencer involvement Shame on you marks and Spencer

“Would not honour quote”

MY daughter got a few quotes on New Years eve from M+S for 4 different cars as we were going to the auctions to buy her a nearly new car. She was already insured with them for a pre reg brand new VW R-Line Tiguan 15 plate for a total £490. She got quotes for Golf GTD's184s 64 plate £189 more VW Sirocco 14 plate £184 more . Audi A4 2 litre s-line 14 plate £135 more . Seat Leon FR 150 on a 15 plate £69 more. We did not win anything at the auctions so we bought a Seat Leon Fr on a 13 plate from a dealer. My daughter phoned M+S to insure it and was quoted £309 more for the 13 plate after they had quoted £69 more for an identical 15 plate 10 days earlier and the quote was much more than the quote for the golf GTD 184 which is much more powerful and faster. I spoke to them and they said the quotes fluctuate daily and would not budge .In the end I told them to stuff it and we took the £50.00 cancellation fee and went back to a proper insurance company Direct Line for £600 for the year instead of the £900 they were trying to get from us. Basically they are a middle man and insure no one as my daughter was insured with AXA through them , you may as well use compare the market or something similar. Avoid like the plague imo.

“Terrible, Terrible, Terrible ”

Cancel my policy due to me informing them of an address change. They tried to take the money from my card that they had on file; a credit card with a huge limit. They tell me after that their system stated i had insufficient funds. I paid for the year in full so this was just a £25 admin fee. They could not reinstate my policy and tried to extort a new 12 month policy costing far more than the old one, to add they also tried to extort a £50 cancellation fee. They say they sent letters to let me know of the outstanding £25. All i received was the cancelled policy letter; no phone call no email. Disgusting service. What kind of business would loose a customer over £25.

“Don't go anywhere near this product”

This isn't car insurance it's m&s car insurance. Oh so they would have you believe. Basically they have nothing to do with it and if you try and claim you don't even speak to anyone at m&s. It's basically a mish mash of different companies who all have their own little bit and never speak to each other. You get an 'advisor' who's job it is to tell you he doesn't know what's happening! My brand new car was hit in a supermarket car park when I was in the shop, I had a witness, got the address telephone number, registration and even a photo of the guy who hit me standing next to both the damaged cars. He admitted responsibility there and then and I've spoken to him twice myself yet two months later 'm&s' still can't get hold of him and therefore the claim will go fully against my record. Absolutely useless, go to a proper insurance company and save m&s for what they are good at .... Shopping.

“rip off”

I have a bmw z4 and pay £367 54 per year fully comp. I have put two silver stripes down each side and they want to increase my premium to £1025 yes £1025 .I have now cancelled the policy and they charge me £50 ,perhaps they should stay with clothes and food

my topic is a big thank you to you all <3 i had a bump in the back end of my own car of no fault of my own. It needed repair my c&a insurance arranged a rent a car from enterprise rent a car on burnage lane m191tp they phoned me and arranged to pick me up from my home i was taken to the place above signed a few forms the car was full of fuel and valeted i drove off very happy i got curtsey call to ask how i was and was i happy with the car. My car was collected from my home by kc autos of stockport at a time that was convenient to me. When my car was repaired and ready to come home i got a phone call from kc autos of stockport to ask what time would be best to have my car returned at my convenience. My car was returned to my home. Fully valeted the repairs were done to a high standered thank you all <3 all i can say is thank you all so very much to all of you, made what could have been very distressing time to a pleasant experience thank you <3

“avoid”

We were involved in a non-fault accident 2 months ago and our car was written off. The other driver admitted full liability immediately....I wish M&S would acknowledge this. Fighting for my money is beyond frustrating.

“Superb from start to finish ”

I have never written a review for a Car Insurance Company's performance before as I have never had need to. Unfortunatley a third party reversed out of a driveway into my beloved mini cooper. From initial telephone call to the insurers through to the end of the matter the Insurers were fantastic - they took all the stress and worry out of our hands, kept us constantly updated and looked after us well providing a hire vehicle for the short duration of the claim (which from intimation to settlement was a total of 26 days!). I have now purchased a new vehicle and again the insurance have been great in arranging cover for the new vehicle - I was aware of the small adjustment fee and due to my insurance expiring shortly gave me the option to pay for the rest of the year cover with an additional promise that they will try to get me the best renewal quote. Thank you - I think you have been fantastic

They auto renew the policy and charge cancellation even when they are in the wrong, having failed to act on instructions not to proceed. A rip off and treat customers appallingly. Never again.

“Avoid Car Insurance”

If I could give this rating a big fat Zero, I would, they don't deserve the 1 star I was forced to give to write this review. Avoid M&S Car Insurance at all costs, I recently made a claim on my car insurance and it's been nothing but a mess, you get passed around all over the place, nobody takes responsibility for anything, and they do not know what they are doing. I recently wrote a letter of complaint to the CEO of M&S Bank about their service, they obviously misread the letter or could not believe that a customer could be complaining about them, as this letter was then passed to Axa who were also involved with my claim, but the irony was that the core of my complaint was about being passed around, and they did just that, despite my letter being addressed to Sue Fox!I will be going back to Direct Line where I insured for years and never had a problem.

“Car Insurance”

Just cancelled and got charged £50 cancellation fee. Left a very bad taste in my mouth and will not be using M&S for car insurance again and has slightly put the brand down a bit in my eyes. They also charge £25 admin even when you manage your own insurance online. Good bye M&S Insurance.

“Worst experience ever!”

M&S are not your insurer - they are just a broker. Your insurer is AXA and you can't believe how bad they are - if you send an email it will take an indeterminate time to review but many days! My insurance claim was poorly handled from start to end. They were not happy to pay for a part on a 6 month old BMW because they have 'independent repairers'. Only BMW could supply and code the part but it took AXA 3 weeks to admit. I had 2 days car hire after my car was recovered paid for generously by BMW but then AXA would only cover £20 a day thereafter (try that). I had my car repaired within days by agreeing to pay yet left to their own devices they could have taken weeks. Avoid AXA at all costs /I will be on renewal!
