“Concerning Stonebridge College - A testimony. ”

★★★★☆

written by lotterdh on 04/12/2010

Concerning Stonebridge College - A testimony.
During planning for a second career 3 years back - age 52, (after many years in the military and security fields), my interest in Holistic Health and Metaphysics increased.
Up to now I completed 7 courses with the College (i.e. Therapeutic Counselling, Hypnotherapy, Neuro- Linguistic Programming, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Massage, Reflexology, Foot Health Practitioner.
I found the lectures and support well planned and the staff approachable. The only irritation in some courses is the egocentrism of some of the course compilers e.g. "If you could build a practice like me", "If you could gain confidence like me". But this doesn't influence the quality of the courses.
I gained great value from my courses in my Metaphysical venture. And the certificates added value to this.
One must understand one thing about Stonebridge - i.e. they do not offer or pretend to offer BA Degrees level education. If you want an academic diploma - go and spend two or three years at a conventional college.! Stonebridge College emphasise the following:
"A course structured to not only provide students with an programme which is vocational, but also it aims to provide job opportunities in this expanding area of interest."
There is no experience or previous qualifications required for enrolment on this course. It is available to all students, of all academic backgrounds.
This course would be of great interest to any therapist who would like to expand not only their knowledge, but the vast potential of their practice.

The price structure of the courses might be cheap for UK Residents, but are quite expensive in South African terms. But then the College offer special packages for people like me that need to add value to existing qualifications.
Thank You Stonebridge for an enriching experience.

★★★★★

written by Ali Bali on 03/12/2010

I commenced a course on Anatomy and Physiology in March of this year. The study materials received I felt were of a high standard; clear and concise and providing quality related information. At any time I needed reassurance or guidance throughout the course it was encouraging to know that support was only a phone call or email away, and could always rely on a swift and effective response. I started my studies using the paper-based service as initially this service was most suited at the time, however, on deciding to change part way through to online I was delighted and impressed with the quick and no hassle transition which resulted in assessments being marked and returned without delay including helpful and encouraging feed-back. I would not hesitate to continue my future studies with Stonebridge and highly recommend to all my friends, family and colleagues.

Review
People look for good educational institution to pursue courses of their choice: some get, others don't get their choice to fulfill their intended dreams ..
Over three years ago that I started to enquire for distance learning educational institution named Stonebridge associated colleges on the internet. I enquired into a lot administratively (special thanks to Wayne) but I was answered satisfactorily before enroll for two subjects: safety management and health and safety at workplace.
In pursuing course(s) and to earn recognized internationally accredited authentic certificate from any educational institution globally, then I William Gyimah-Mensah, Fire/Safety officer, port of Tema- Ghana recommend SAC, For enrolment, payment (flexible), tuition, best and quality learning material, guidance & direction with dedicated lecturers and staff. SAC stands distinctive. They are really for universal endless support delivering grounds for life opportunities irrespective of races; they are dedicated for shaping the individuals and group in various fields of careers improving and correcting errors in various professions. In fact, I should have known SAC long a time but I know I have discovered solutions to my problems through SAC.
I am very happy to hear that the relation exist between student SAC is an endless one with support and I am very happy with that statement though other training /educational institutions do, but it's not common to share with student body and SAC on global challenges that may be encountered. It is good and laudable to remember always when called for student association function. To safety it's extremely high when considering current or next generation on global challenges.
With a big thank I say, long live, God bless you and entire the staff of SAC.

written by on 30/11/2010

the business law course was the most awesome because i did not expect such astounding results in my charater as learning results. i did not expect that recital ability at all but i am amazed to say that Stonebridge material has that special ability to educate ; particularly in the field of law which would have to be a particular achievement of the college. the course notes are particularly long for law and the course was tremendous value for oney. i love it too much and my compliments are probably sounding fake. i love afforable study and stonebridge has the gift of affordable study to make your real dream of studying anything you ever wanted to study into an actual reality - me i dont have to keep dreaming Stonebridge made those dreams come true....next they will be telling me i'll achieve high pay hehehe Good luck everyone. i recommend to you to love Stonebridge too! i will be their life time student. The Stonebridge College of the United Kingdom IS UK/AUSTRALIA ACCREDITED because it is acredited by ASET. If you remember being in school and finding out who the Education Board of review was - then what you remember was that the Board was ASET. You get ASET on Your assignment grade sheet and that means that it is all accredited study and well known to be accredited. Accredited means that it is not fake - it is real certification!! Thankyou everyone. Some of the courses are short and i believethat they suit the person with advanced knowledge who wants acertificate for life experience knowledge achievements - just send the Stonebridge College an email; to Ian in administration and ask Ian if the course notes are long or short - the short ones require you to write a long essay to get your certificate and that is to show your real competance. So ask Ian about the course length and let him know if you are new to the field and wanting a long course which is comprehensivein its guidance or you alreadyhave comprehensive knowledge and want an accredited ASET Certificate to acknowledge what you already know - and he will help you. The email address is [email protected] Good Luck and you will not be disappointed. You can find The Stonebridge College by typing Stonebridge College into google. The purchase online is safe and secure and now is the time for Americans and Australians and New Zealanders to buy because the exchange rate is 1.6; where it has usually been 2.4 with Australia.

I have heard alot of things said about Stonebridge College which had me worried but I was part way through my Teaching Assistant Diploma course. I thought that I was going to struggle receiving my certificate and thought I had wasted my time, but to tell you the truth I have no complaints what-so-ever about them. I qualified in October this year and received my certificate from the college its self within two weeks, the certificate from the NCFE took a while longer and I made some phone calls to ensure that I was going to receive it which I did. Overall it was a good experience which I enjoyed, hard work at times but it paid off as I went for my first interview in October using the qualifications I had gained and actually got the position!, so Stonebridge can't be all that bad now I am looking to do another course hopefully with Stonebridge relating to my 'job'. So before you listen to every-one else follow your own instincts I did and it paid off!

written by Linda Hazelmoon on 14/11/2010

I have really enjoyed learning with Stonebridge Associated Colleges. I have always found it easier to study at home and at my own pace but was eager to finish the course as soon as possible, as the subject (Clinical Herbalism), was so interesting, and the course materials easy to follow and understand. The course has given me the skills and confidence to start my own small business, which I am looking forward to setting up in the next few weeks. There is plenty of information on the website but before starting the course I made a telephone enquiry. The person I spoke to was very helpful and after some discussion I was advised which course would be most suitable. I am now inspired to continue studying and will be booking on to another course after Christmas. Iwould recommend Stonebridge to anyone.

This course is very interesting and its nicely suit the fees. I have already recomend it to my colleque whom am at the same field. What I like most is that is simple and understandable easy to read on your own. The books are not very easy to get, most they said you have to order them obroad which can cost a higher price.
Stationary/ books if they can be covered to the study cost because as I am in SA it's not aesy to get them. Unless every thing is clear.

written by on 05/11/2010

I would recommend Stone Bridge College and its distance learning courses to anyone who would like to make use of their spare time and work towards a recognised qualification, as well as those who wish to do a course full time.

My course materials were received soon after ordering and payment and I could begin whenever it suited me. I found my course (Animal Health Diploma) very informative and enjoyable, and as there was no time limit I could relax and take my time with the modules without feeling pressured to hand in work on time. The content contributed much to my knowledge of animal care and health.

The staff were also very enthusiastic and when I required assistance they were very helpful - I could contact them via both email and phone. Submitting my assignments from the student website was easy and secure and the feedback was much appreciated. Soon after the completion of my course I was very proud to have received a beautiful certificate in the post that stated my achievement. Thank you Stone bridge College!

written by on 04/11/2010

It was a great way to improve my project management skills. I've just been given more responsibility at work, which is great, but I knew I'd need to brush up on my PM skills. Since I don't need a degree, just sharper skills, and I need the flexibility of an online program, I chose Diploma in Project Management. It was a good course, covering a lot of key topics. I feel I've come away with a good knowledge base, ready to go, the topics were covered and nothing in that sense was missing.it wasn't too difficult I studied the material given and conducted additional research to enhance my learning...Colleges are not supposed to spoon feed all information. You need to do some of the work on your own too but having a personal mentor kept me on track with my program, She has been able to help me every time I have an issue.,. I am grateful for the opportunity. As far as the school goes I have nothing but good to say about them. I'd take another course from Stonebridge Colleges

written by on 03/11/2010

I found my experience to be very unprofessional and has left a very bad impression on me. I was doing the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Course and my tutor was very rude and unhelpful. Furthermore, I've discovered Stonebridge is not even a 'college', it is nothing more than a residential house in Bude. When I spoke to my school they said that the NCFE qualification is totally worthless and is not accepted by school at all. So, I wasted £300 and when I tried to complain I was shouted down by a very rude and arrogant man called Wayne, who, it seems, is the boss. From my experience this so called college is a diploma mill and I would say stick to the Open University, not a 'college' run from a house.

written by Melissa Renard on 06/10/2010

In october 2009, I started the Child Day Care Level 3 course. It was my first course done with Stonebridge Associated Colleges and I loved it. It was easier for me to do it online for the fact that I live abroad. The great thing about online study is that, I was able to work and study at the same time. I have learnt so much in the Child Day Care course, it was very detailled and very well explained. When I had a problem either to understand what they meant by certain sentences, as I am french, or when I needed to ask something about the test, my tutor was always there to help me out and she answered me instantly or the next day. She was really encouraging throughout the course. I wanted to take my time to complete it and this has paid as I passed my Final Examination today with a Distinction. It has given me the confidence that I needed to want to carry on and do a second online course, which I am hoping to start in the near future, of course with Stonebridge Associated Colleges and I also hope to have my same tutor because she was fantastic.

The psychology diploma is my third course with Stonebridge. What I appreciate most of all is the possibility to do them online as receiving lessons and sending question papers by ordinary mail would take too long for me as I live abroad.Having no specific time limit to complete the required work encourages me to work harder. It even allows me to go on holidays and spend time with my family so this system suits me perfectly.

I am not aware of a pass rate being published by the college for any courses. However, as with all things, as long as you put the work in and take good notice of your tutor's comments, I can see no reason for you not passing.Make sure that the course you want to take is the right one for you and that if it is, attack it with a positive attitude and remember that your tutor wants you to pass so liaise closely with him/her. There is no rush to complete the course so take your time and take a break if it is starting to overwhelm you. Hope this helps.

Report this content oblivion Written on: 04/02/2015
I presume pass mark will be 70% - So, 70% - 79% will get a "Pass" - 80% - 89% will be a "Merit" - and - 90% - 99% will be a "Distinction" - Frankly, this is only my personal opinion on this issue but it's certain your overall performance will be taken into consideration.

How can one complete an A-Level? Most online providers will tell you that you're only paying for the papers and tutor marking etc. and that you'll need to pay for, and arrange separately, the exams. I would love to do a maths and statistics A-Level to bring my general employability up but I don't know if I should just try and go to a local college (but with the death of FE, it is getting harder). Also I noticed they do a fairly cheap IT certificate. Will this help me get a job? I currently don't have a GCSE, but I'm fairly good with computers already, I just need some paper that says 'Yes, I have basic computer skills, thanks'. Cheers.

What I'm sure is that most of the courses are accredited by the British Qualifications Body... you need to make sure that it is listed in the Certification of the respective course you intend to take.

Hi, The College is accredited, and so are the courses. The higher level courses hold more value. If it is particular subject to support a job application - e.g. TA,then practicle experience is a requirement.

I have done the meteorology level 3 and ecology level 3 and am now doing the psychology level 4. All these courses are accredited by the ncfe. I do not know how much that accreditation will help you but I would liaise with the college and also talk to the ncfe if you are not sure. The courses are not cheap but I have found them interesting and stimulating. I should stress that I am only doing the courses as a means of keeping my 70 year old brain active, I am not actively seeking to use them for job seeking. Good luck.

It is very difficult to understand anatomy by learning it out of textbooks. If you want to learn reflexology then you need to have some practical hands-on experience. Personally I would waste my time doing any reflexology, I'd make sure you have the correct qualifications to get you on a Pysiotherapy course.

If you are thinking about a career in Physiotherpy then you need to check you have the right GCSE's to get on that course before you consider any other courses.
