Before I upgraded my phone I dropped the Nokia 3510 countless times and actually towards the end (where I was planning on upgrading) was constantly careless with it. It's been soaked through before and after 24 hours in an airing cupboard it was absolutely fine again. I would recommend it to anyone that wants a simple phone and doesn't care about "style" or the latest model.

The Nokia 3510 phone is very cheap, compare to its features and capability.

It has phonebook memory large enough to handle my contacts, and still 70% free. No other phone I've used can hold all my contacts. Furthermore, I can put anything in phonebook, not only phone number. I can put memo, address, e-mail address, fax number, office number.

I have tested the phone by dropping it onto a concrete floor about 5 metres high. It is still working, no visible scratch, no broken casing. Off course it was completely disassembled after the drop. Battery, keypad, cases, even SIM card is out from its place. But it's still working. I'm still using it.

Vibration alert is also quite strong, so that I can not miss a call.

I put rubber keypad on the good points because I like rubber keypad. I don't like keypad like on recently released phones.

This Nokia 3510 is a great mobile phone for someone who doesn't want a colour phone with a camera or Bluetooth. It has heaps of great features with the ability to fit four or five lines of text on the screen on the small setting. This phone rocks!

U can hold lots of messages beacause i held 150 messages b4 i deleted them but you can also save lots of numbers on the phone which is lethal!i got dis phone 4 £80 on pay as u go and i thought it was great value 4 money!it is as good as quality as any other phone apart from the camera! but overall well worth the money

written by squeeky pie on 20/10/2003

I got this Nokia 3510 phone as a christmas present last year. I smiled at my parents, but inside I was screaming. I hated it. It looked like a Duplo Lego piece. I preffered my old 3330 to this! Basically the alarm that wakes me up sounds like a fire bell, not good, since I go to boarding school! The ringtones are well, not the best! Theres no composer!!! And well.... I'm never getting another Nokia again! Getting this horrible monstrosity out is almost as dramatic as Crossroads! And yes, it really is this bad! I have no respect for the designers of this phone, and my next one is to be a Sony Ericsson T610, since the 3510 breaks down whilst speaking to people on it, and whilst playing and texting!

LISTEN! i hav had this Nokia 3510 Mobile Phone 4 a few months now and heres wat im gonna say...im gonna tell u the exact TRUTH! the 3510 is a good reliable fone with nice big buttons and polyphonic ringtones, it has great games, and an excellent organiser, and good reception. DO NOT BYE THIS FONE 4 THE GAMES! This fone would be good if u are a teenager looking 4 a good fone 4 texting ppl with. The fone has lots of featres, its bursting with them, but the only thing that might not appeal to many ppl is that it hav not got java technology. if u want a simple fone for ringing ppl and txting ppl then go out and buy the 3310 but if u want that little bit more, then get the 3510! If u already hav the 3510 or u r getting 1, u might want to invest in a data cable because they can do heaps of things for the 3510 like upload images, download ringtones, costomise ur fonebook and much, much more! do not hesitate to buy this fone, just do it, u will not b sorry!

I think that this 3510 is Nokia's cheapest mobile phone with polyfonic tones and with GPRS facility more over it have best options of making folders and arranging documents as well. i love its animated screen savers.
One bad thing that i feel is it's size and other one is its bells are too slow even some times i cant even hear its bells

written by kelly. on 12/04/2003

I'm happy with this phone. The games are great and it only costs £80 from Argos if you're with Orange (in England) It looks good from the front but when you turn it around you see that the back cover is a totally different colour which ruins it, the 'on' button is bright green as well but you can always buy a nicer cover. The worst thing about it is that there is no ringtone composer and that is one of the best features on phones. Overall though it's a really good phone.

It has a great large screen there are good ring tones.
Loads of space for messages and numbers also there are wicked games. A super fast GPRS also helps. But the main problem is there is no infared!

“This phone is terrible. It looks like 'My First...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Jonny P. on 25/03/2003

This phone is terrible. It looks like 'My First Mobile' for 3yr olds. I'm ashamed to get this thing out in public.
Massive, ugly, silver buttons. Navy Blue front, Baby Blue back, clear sides and a nasty Slime Green on/off button on the top. All in a lovely, cheap plastic finish. An aesthetical disaster. Unless you want to look more camp than a row of tents, you're forced to buy a new facia. Good marketing ploy, Nokia.
The Polyphonic ringtones are so high pitched, dogs' ears bleed when it rings. I have no choice but to keep it on 'Discreet' so that I don't annoy anyone within a 15 mile radius.
The alarm on it sounds like a fire alarm which is great to wake up to in the morning - puts me in a great mood for the day.
To top it all off, the battery keeps cutting out halfway through any texts I try to send. Cracking.
A must buy for any fat fingered, hard of hearing, tasteless people who don't like sending texts.

I have a 3510 and it does what I want in a cheap phone. Battery life is very good. I use the Wap quite a lot and can send email from the phone. True the ringtones sound poor. One advantage IS the large buttons.

My real comment is, however, if you hate the phone so much, why did u buy it?

I completely agree. In fact this phone is so baad, that I am getting the old 'rents to get me a new one for Christmas. Really, the 3510 is that bad that getting it out in public is almost as dramatic as "Crossroads". Maybe I'll give to a hated relative at Christmas...

It's a great phone, I have one myself. I'd like to see you design a better one. Think about all the things it does rather than how it looks. Being able to talk to someone even when the're miles away from you, sending messages, WAP services, being able to ring 999 *FREE* if you come to any danger. Surely that deserves two points at least. You clearly expect far to much from a phone.

90626_Nikola.'s Response to Jonny P.'s Review

I think you are being totally negative on the 3510. It's a great phone for the price that it's at, and there are few bad points. You say that the battery keeps cutting out. Did it ever occur to you that it may be your fault for ruining the battery in the first place? You probably over-charged it - I know no1 who has ever had this problem with a 3510 before. The cover you get with it may be disgusting, but are you really that stingy that you can't go and buy a new one for £10? I mean, you actually get to choose the colour and EVERYTHING! Some of the Polyphonic tunes may be high-pitched, but most of them are just at the right level. Well, Nokia aren't exactly going to make new ringtones just for one irritable person are they? If you got it upgraded, you should have been able to choose your new phone. If you didn't, it's not my fault. You should have stuck with your old phone if you are that picky.

I agree that the WAP facility on this phone is useful and all that, and to be fair to Nokia, I really like the way they map out the functions on their phones. I just can't stand the actual 3510 handset.
In answer to your question, I didn't buy the phone, it was a free upgrade. I was so blinded by what a great deal they were offering me that I agreed to take the phone before I researched it. Entirely my fault, really. I've learn't my lesson now though.
