“the worst boiler ever DO NOT BUY”

★☆☆☆☆

written by crapferroli on 23/01/2016

Ferolli are not only the poorest quality boiler but their service is also the worst ever and that was under warranty! after 4 years of nothing but trouble we've removed the offending boiler and replaced it with a Glow worm Energy 25 which has proved a dream. I am just saddenned at how many elderly people may have bought one of these and are now having to fork out loads of money every year just to try and keep the auwful ferroli running. Do not even fit one of these even if its free as it will still cost you hundreds of £££££ in call out charges alone!!!!

IF you are looking for boilers and think this warranty is a good deal THINK TWICE AND RUN THE OTHER WAY. Today the engender was to attained TO FIX A BOILER YET again, he rang at 8.44 to say he would be there for 10am I got to the property then received a call from ferroli to say his part hadn't turned up so hard luck bank holiday weekend so my tenant has now to wait until Tuesday morning for it to be fixed, it is a constant battle with this company stay well clear if you have any sence

“AVOID AT ALL COSTS”

written by 108Warren on 12/08/2014

Had one installed in Dec 2007. Took out NPower boiler cover, first 2 years - fine, after that problem after problem. NPower replaced every single part in my boiler and still ended up condemning it as they couldn't get the carbon monoxide rating to a safe level. They phoned Ferroli who told them to take out a part and this worked last year finally. however N power will no longer cover Ferroli boilers - in fact no one else covers Ferroli boilers except Ferroli - today is the first annual service undertaken by Ferroli - hubby at home - engineer can't get reading safe and has now gone outside to "make phone calls". If they can't mend their own boilers then whats that say! NEVER EVER BUY A FERROLI BOILER - no service contractor will cover them and even Ferroli don't know why a boiler with new everything inside doesn't work properly.

Waste of money. Rip off warranty yes this really is a warranty joke. RUBISHHH costumer service. FERROLI wanted to repair my boiler at almost 3 times the amount the boiler cust when brand new. All because I trust a boiler installer... and guess what I usually don't trust anyone... "surprise,surprise".... Once again my luck playing against me.... What can you do "STAY AWAY FROM FERROLI"....

“guarantee rip off”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 18/02/2014

ferroli boiler came with five year guarantee, second year in, part went no hot water or heating, rang, no problems as it had been serviced every year by same installer, engineer came out renewed, fixed. Exactly one year later same problem, same part but this time when I rang they wanted credit cards details when I asked why I was told just incase it wasnt covered by the guarantee I'd have to pay £75.00 or if I booked someone then went out, that was the charge for wasting their time. that day I checked my bank details only to find that they had frozen the amount required, when again phoning them to ask what the hell had they done, I was told this is what they did and after the engineer had been and everything was ok the funds would be released, however was not told this at the time and was lucky I did not end up with banks charges. when it was fixed, I rang them to make sure they where aware and now to release the funds, only to be told it could take up to 28 days, as you can imagine I was flaming.

“DO NOT GO NEAR ONE!!!!!!!!! ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Sr30790 on 13/01/2014

We have just had to replace our second ferolli boiler in TWO YEARS!!!! First time they said the g'tee was void even though it was only 2 months over our service time ! So was just over a year old and inside CAUGHT FIRE!!! Given it was cheaper just to put in a new ferolli so we could keep the pipe work the same we replaced it with a new ferolli, had to get them out 4 times to fix it, so went 4 weeks in two years with no hot water or heating!!! Customer service is absolutely naff!! Could not get any money out of them although I was feeling like I was owed. Have replaced with new boiler. So disappointing!! We don't have that sort of money but have had to borrow as I didn't even feel safe with that boiler in the house anymore. Would hate to see anyone go through what we've been through with this terrible company. Please......... JUST STEER CLEAR!!! If you are moving into a new build (as we did) that already has one fitted my BEST advise is just borrow a bit extra ANC get it replaced straight away.... It'll pay off in the end!!!!

“Ferroli are terrible”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 07/01/2014

As a landlord of 17 properties, fitting Ferroli boilers was a complete waste of time and money. I was advised 2 yrs ago by a reputable heasting engineer that these boilers would give good service. They were about £200 less to buy than the worcesters but i was told they were of equal quality. I fitted 4 over a period of a year. just after i fitted the fourth the first one we put in failed. Pressure valve and heat exchanger. I stopped fitting ferroli's and reverted to Baxi and worcester. All four boilers have gone down in the last 2 yrs. The latest failiure took place over xmas leaving my tenants with no heating or hot water. Ferroli aren't interested. I got my engineer out on xmas eve. The boiler was leaking after further inspection it was the heat exchanger and pressure valve. The parts alone are £450 before any labour. Out of all the boilers I own the Ferroli's are a constant headache. I have only mentioned major breakdowns so far, but expect continual niggling faults aswell! My advice is dont buy one. I expect my combi's to do about 10 yesars and most of them do. you'll be lucky to get 2 years out of a Ferroli before it has a major breakdown.

“Do not fit one of these they are rubbish”

★☆☆☆☆

written by M0tfsterry on 03/11/2013

Fitted 3 of these boilers, filling loop failed on all 3, pcb failed on 2, flow switch failed on 1, took over a week to get a engineer out to rectify the flow switch then he suggested that I should not have changed the factory fill loop to a the traditional method as this could have negated the warranty.

Ferroli for a start need to get some better customer service team! My brand new boiler what I had installed by my landlord after 2 months without water n heating with a very ill baby with breathing problems. The first day of installation it broke down ad to wait for new parts now been in for 6 months an as broke down over 24 times, the latest issue faulty gas valves had it replaced twice its always shutting down. Like I said at first the customer service team are so rude an with all my problems didn't even help me sort out a engineer. So id anyone who is going to buy one don't! !! Spend more and get a better one.

“Don't buy one”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 02/08/2013

We've had this boiler for two years and it has gone wrong 3 times. The problem is getting Ferroli out to do the repair. They have left us with no heating or hot water for 5 days in the winter. Currently we have no hot water - difficult with a baby - and they will not come to repair it for 8 DAYS. We are reaching the point where we will cut our losses and buy a different boiler.

“install it right”

★★★★☆

written by installer on 24/07/2013

Im a heating engineer myself and some of the things i have read on here have me crying with laughter. how many of these "awful" boilers had a limescale reducer. I bet its about the same amount that had a warm flush and in-hibiter put in the system. as for their customer service if your installer rings they are lots quicker to get to a problem. i have had two minor faults corrected same day. the other 30 i have fitted over the last 5 years have had no problems. any boiler would be pathetic with the standards of installation I see these days.

“Ferroli Modena 32c best boiler in its class”

★★★★★

written by Boilerboy13 on 20/07/2013

Hi We are a company who have been installing the Ferroli 32c combination boilers. So far we have installed 84 units and we have not had 1 go wrong. The odd few recalls have turned out to be external issues, not the boiler. In one property the boiler was reseting once a week but this turned out to be an air lick caused by some existing badly run pipework which we have sinced altered, but we called Ferroli out at 1pm and they turned up the same day at 2.15pm. When I spoke with their direct engineer he told me that the company was working extremely hard to overcome some bad customer service in previous years. He said that the new Modena boilers just never go wrong. I have been a heating engineer for over 20 years ( trained with British Gas )and I know a good boiler when I see one. It's small, quiet, reliable and very good value. As I have said we have installed lots of these boilers and they are with out doubt the best boilers we have ever installed. I would recommend a Ferroli Modena 32c to anyone .

Pbs2014's Response to Boilerboy13's Review

Written on: 21/10/2014

Hello boiler boy is your views on these still the same?? I know previously they had a bad reputation! I'm a heating engineer myself and I'm talking two family members into fitting these (so could be in for heartache if they're a bad job ha) as I recently been on the training course of them and was extremely impressed with the quietness, price, size, warranty, not having a plate-plate heat exchanger, range rating abilities and also the fact of only 4 moving parts!
Any tips to take into consideration when installing?? Thankyou

I ask myself why they sell these boilers for £600with a five year warranty? To good to be true.....100 % fact. Awfully bult, parts cost a fortune(that where they make their money back) and as for the warranty....ring in winter time when its vital to have heat and hot water and ferroli will say"we can get out to u in 5 weeks! their answer when u complain? its a warranty not an emergency service....Joke!

I have an Ferroli Optimax HE30C and it has stopped working. It looks like there is no power but the connection unit is on as the external control switch is working. The display and pilot is out. Water is dripping from the CH return. What could be the problem?
