“Unless you wnat your vacation to be turned into a...”

The Singapore trip planned by Cox & kings turned out to be a total nightmare for us. First of all we were given the Itinerary & the passport & visa few hours prior to our travel We arrive in the morning at 7:30 am in Singapore who has been greeted by a rude driver & the he presents us with a totally different itinerary than what was given to us in Bangalore. When we ask him why this has been changed in the last minute he informs us that this is what he was asked to do & We can contact the travel agent in bangalore . As per the new itinerary given in Singapore the first day had a tour of Sentosa .We hardly had 2 hours of sleep since we arrived the same morning & then we had to skip lunch since we had to be there at Sentosa at 1.30 pm.. We were given the tickets for the cable car & vouchers for the other shows at the entrance of the harbour front & was asked to find our own way inside & the driver will meet us in night after we finish everything. Dolphin show got over by 4.30 pm & the next schedule of Songs of the sea was at 8.45 pm. Since we hardly had any sleep & we were extremely tired it was impossible to stay there for 4 more hours to see the next show.When we asked the driver if we can change the schedule...he argued with us that we have to go through his schedule only. They could have accommodated us in the first show instead of the second. Because of the bad organizing we had to miss Songs of the sea which was the highlight of Sentosa. Again the next day a different driver with no city guide arrives at 10:00 am instead of 8:30 am. Even though it was a city tour, The driver hardly explains to us the special attractions in the city or volunteers any information on the places he took us.We had to miss the Gem factory tour because of the delay in the drivers arrival.When we question him about this, he told us to contact the travel agent since he is just a driver. Evening we had night Safari for which we were just given vouchers & dropped just in time for the Show there & we had to find our way to the show & there they inform us that we need tickets to enter. Then contacted the guy at the reception who gave us just 3 tickets & told us that it covers for 3 adults n 2 children.We were let inside here with just 3 tickets. They asked us to use the same tickets for Jurong park as well. But at the entrance we were stopped saying that only 3 people can enter.We had to reach the agent but she didn’t answer the call, Then we called this Singapore Assistance number # 63342225 but no response so we called our driver who was extremely rude to us & he didn’t even understand a word we talked.We missed the Bird show which was the steal show of Singapore Tour. Most of the places we were almost in tears with the treatment given to us. we went through a lot of mental Agony & harassment by the agent there.We had to run around for everything without any help from the Travel guide.Since we were just Women & children travelling we found it even more difficult & regretted from day one as to why we took this trip.IT was a total nightmare which haunts me even today. IF we had to pick up tickets standing in long queues & find our own way we didn’t have to pay Cox & Kings 25000 for organizing this horrible trip !!!!!!!!!!!! We would have done much better jobs ourselves. We wasted lot of money on the phone calls by calling the travel agent in Bangalore & Mumbai, which was of no use. After coming back i wrote a long mail to them explaining my plight after which they called twice & informed that they will talk to the supplier & revert but till now i haven’t got any updates from them. We booked Cox & Kings thinking its a branded company but didn’t expect this kind of pathetic service from them. i would never recommend this company to anyone ever as they promise something which they dont.

“horrible tour of paris @ switzerland.”

never go with this people anywhere in world. Hotel in paris had no water for bath and flush. Restaurant were dirty,overcrowded and serving indian food which even dogs may not eat.Tour gide were not giving any proper information and they were only intersted in finishing a day as fast as possible. On a day of departure all were thrown geneva airport at 8am, while most of them had flight at 3pm,to save travel cost.

“WORST EXPERIENCE FOR MY HONEYMOON”

I had choosen Cox and Kings for my Honeymoon... the worst decision in my life... very very bad experience with this company... the first thing was their own exchange rate for payment of EURO which was approx. Rs. 3/per euro more than the market rate i.e. Rs. 6,000/per person, later the sales team cheated and sold a very different product which was very different from the actual execution... i was provided two different itineraries, first at the time of booking and the second on the day of departure... to my shock when the tour started i was travelling in all together different itinerary... not only this but also many other problems like hotels, food, no caravan for first 8 days as promised, no proper time management, very bad coach driver, worst tour guide Mr. Hardeepsingh Parmar. Even after complaining over all above problems during the tour, it didn’t make any difference to the company and their superior blamed 53 passengers for their inconvenience and mistakes. AND LOT MORE BAD THINGS... “Cancelled Trip To Egypt”

I was recommended Cox & Kings and I have generally only read positives but this weekend I decided to cancel, very late in the day, my trip to Cairo. In hindsight a very good call given the unrest but I was surprised that I incurred a full 100% cost. I travel a great deal and I am forever changing my travel dates and I have never paid a hotel for a booking that I have changed. In fairness I must point out that the C&K Terms and Conditions clearly outline their cancellation policy but I am left feeling that I would have been much better off arranging the whole thing myself. Where was the additional value in paying to C&K to make the flight and hotel bookings? Perhaps I would have found that out if I had gone and met the guides etc, so please note that this critique is written having not experienced the onshore service. I know with certainty however that if I had made the booking, I would have enabled a deferral or reduction in cost, even given the very late cancellation. I figure that C&K had room to improve over a 100% cancellation cost.

“C.O.X: Cheapest Of Xtrails - Disgusting & Horrifying...”

We recently went to Rajastan tour arranged by Cox and Kings - HORRIFYING. COX said it uses min. 3* Hotels, coach either a Volvo or Equivalant. Choice of Hotels was next to Horrifying. E.g. 'Prithvi palace' in Jaisalmar was really located in a slum area. The bus chosen was a 3rd grade A/C coach, the whole bus shaked horribly as soon as it crosses 50mph, so driver has to come down to 20 and start over again, wasted lot of time in long drives. Tour Manager fed us lunch at 3:30PM, even after repeated requests that there are elderly sugar patients and children on tour. Planning - as POOR as it can get. Even after paying for a seat in coach and extra bed, they were not provided. Tour manager brushed off saying he has no intimation, so he is not to be blamed - very irresponsible. When Mumbai office is called, they said they will call back, but never did even after calling multiple times. Anyone interested, please email me to [email protected], I can send the pictures of horrifying choice of hotels that COX gave after paying 35,000 for the trip. Please spare yourself by not choosing this tour operator, heard similar horryfying stories from Euope tours too.

“Stay away from Cox and Kings India”

I had booked south-east asia tour through Cox and Kings India. I covered Thailand, Malaysia and Bali. The tour was not well organized by Cox and Kings. In other words, it was dreadful and appalling. Customer service was always lacking in standards. Pre-tour info/briefing was not given. Lot of aspects and inclusions about the tour were not informed to me. During the tour, the sightseeing trips were in disarray. The travel agent did not co-ordinate pick-up times with me for sightseeing. More often than not, the pick-up was late. They also missed in showing certain sightseeing places during the tour which were worth watching. The taxi drivers were always in a hurry to arrive at their destination which made the drive unpleasant. I regret availing the services of Cox and Kings India for my holiday tour. I strongly do not recommend Cox and Kings to other customers.

“TERRIBLE, NO GOOD”

I presented a few of my relatives with the USA tour. It was terrible experience from the start go. the agents didn't have any clue to what was going on. They wouldn't give us the detailed itinerary. would ask to go to the website instead which gave a very vague idea of the tour. Understand that they work with airlines, hotels for deals but this was a week before the the actual tour. They wouldn't tell us the airline name, hotel names. Its as though we were being taken for a ride and I believe we were being robbed blindly. They had absolutely no idea or they knew and didn't tell us about baggage fee internal in the US. Their customer service is pathetic, their cancellation policies protect only them. Basically I won't ever refer them to any one. Worst ever agents.!!! In the end, my aunt had to cancel the trip with hefty fines. Better than getting stuck up in some cheap motel in the US. Went with Taj Tours instead. DO NOT GO WITH COX AND KINGS.

Overpriced for what I asked for. I've traveled the world over and I felt like I was being taken advantage of. I have been requesting to be removed from their email list for over a year now and they keep saying they will but I keep getting their junk.

We booked an extended trip to Egypt with Cox & Kings over the Christmas Holiday period. During our travel to Cairo we were inadvertently delayed. In contacting the emergency contact for C&K she basically told us to get stuffed. They were unwilling to talk to us, to adjust arrangements, or to make any concessions.

Further their local agent in Cairo basically extorted additional funds from us and could provide no invoice or detailed list of what these charges were.

Cox & Kings provided no point of contact, did not empathize with our predicament and did not even have the courtesy to take our calls.

You will regret ever having booked with this firm. They are arrogant, insular and only care about their business profit. They do not care how well your trip went or that you even enjoyed it.

The staff was wonderful; they were always on time for our transfers and the vehicles were very comfortable. I highly recommend Cox and Kings and will use them again.

“Cox and Kings cleverly market themselves as being a...”

Cox and Kings cleverly market themselves as being a centuries-established and rather pukkah, traditional British company. But, in essence, they are a glorified travel agent who organise tours from their central office, and pass on the actual running of those tours to secondary agents, who are located in their trip destinations.

Our trip to South America was so-so, but there was NO Cox and Kings representative anywhere. In Peru, Argentina, and Brazil, we were solely in the hands of travel company organisers from the respective countries.

Our first disaster was on arriving in Lima. A third of the party had missed the connecting flight from Madrid because of French industrial action. When we eventually arrived in Lima, there was no one to meet us. We eventually got to our hotel to discover that the Peruvian rep knew nothing about our situation, and was happily preparing to continue the trip with the two thirds of the party who had turned up.

This was a stressful, tiring start to the trip, but we all carried on, knowing that a three night stay at Cusco, 48 hours ahead, would allow a period of comfortable recovery. We had overlooked the significance to a "change" in our hotel accommodation. Instead of a 5 star hotel in Cusco, which we saw from the outside looked very comfortable, we had been moved to a 4 star hotel, which was very, very poor, and was worth 2 stars at best. We hardly slept in our airless rooms (no air conditioning, small windows looking onto a hotel corridor, etc)

I could go on, but you get the picture. I didn't bother complaining to Cox and Kings, but I did decide not to book with them again. I can get a similar service from any run-of-the-mill, second-rate company without paying the Cox and Kings "quality" premium, and I won't be conned by their nonsensical marketing claptrap in the future.

Don't be taken in by the Cox and Kings pukkah claptrap. This is not a quality operation.

They have a very good and acknowledgeable service as this is the third time I've booked my tickets with them. Thanks Cox and Kings for a wonderful holiday in Europe! We found everything very satisfactory from the price to the tour itself. Everything went almost exactly as planned and all of our guides and tour-managers did their best to keep us happy and comfortable. All the special requests we had were adequately fulfilled, including my wife's strict diet and our kids felt safe.

Just booked a trip online to Europe on the Cox & Kings website. The booking process was easy enough and I got my confirmation through email as well as telephone. They have some some cashback contest going on, so I'm guaranteed to get half my money back for just entering. But I had to pay full price at the time of booking so I hope they send me my money! Come, on Cox & Kings! :)

This is in relation to the Holiday Package that we had booked through your company. I am very disappointed to inform you that the tour package offered was just below average and didn't match to the reputation your company holds in planning holidays.
We booked Tour package for Thailand last month for 9 person but 1 cancelled. Our trip’s first destination was Phuket and we were supposed to visit Phi Phi Island at 7:30 Am on 8th of Aug. I also informed our Hotel reception at 6:45 in the morning to call us when cab arrive. At 7:30, I confirmed from the reception about the cab and they says no Cab come yet. I called [name removed] ( Contact person in Phuket ) at mobile No. [number removed] ( Mobile call charges bill is Attached and time confirmation) which was given by [name removed] on 7th of Aug to call for any problem and Cab confirmation at 8:10 am on 8th of Aug from hotel Room ( Mobile call charges bill is Attached and time confirmation) and he said he is on the way and will reach hotel in 1 or 2 minute. After 5 Minute, I again call [name removed] at 8:15 (Time Duration : 0:30 Second) and he said he is sending another cab as he has to go somewhere. After waiting 40 minute , Cab arrived and we left hotel for Phi Phi island but after 15 minute , a call came in Driver’s Mobile and he told that we can’t go to Phi Phi Island and he dropped us at Hotel. Then I called [name removed] at [number removed] at 9:32 ( Mobile call charges bill is Attached and time confirmation )and he told me that [name removed] come at 7:30 and inform hotel reception about cab arrival but after waiting of 30 minutes , he returned back. I went reception counter and scold them for not informing about the Cab, then Reception lady told that there is no entry of Cab arrival from DS Travel in Front Guard Register. I called [name removed] again but he misbehaved me very much. Then I requested Reception manager to call him and tell about the facts but [name removed] also misbehaved them Also. I tried to convince Hotel manager to provide letter for this incident.

As we booked this Package through Cox & Kings Because we wanted world class services as our Group are businessman and want some vacation as Life was too much stressed. I know that [name removed] is the franchise owner of Cox & Kings and he is also a friend of my Group, So we contacted [name removed] and he confirmed about the Benefits if we booked through COX & KINGS . He Introduced us to [name removed] (Branch Manager – cox & Kings) and he explained the Package. In the meanwhile [name removed] also agreed to join us in this tour.

After returned back to India We contacted [name removed] also a Eyewitness of this incident about help then he told me that he don’t want to involve in this issue. I called [name removed] & [name removed] to resolve this issue but they says send the documents confirming about the genuinely of the case. On the same day I sent mail containing Scan copy of the latter which was draft by Hotel Manager mentioning the issue.

I Called so many times to [name removed] & [name removed], but they always ignored by saying that they sent mail and awaiting for response. After a rigorous follow-up I visited the office and told [name removed] that we are filing a Case against you and your company because even he also a part of the group and faced the problem , ignoring us and strongly told us that he will not help in this matter. As [name removed] is typical Businessmen and it has been approved by not cooperating us.

I am falling short of words to describe about the mess this package tour has made me to go through. I genuinely feel that my money and time have been wasted by choosing your holiday package. In the end, all I could expect from you is to stop promising something that you can't hold. I hope this type of blunder is never repeated with your other customers.

From our perspective, It was done in the starting of the Tour so this was not a holiday, but a very stressful experience that we would have done anything to avoid. In the circumstances, we do not feel that is unreasonable to expect a full refund of the money paid to you following your misrepresentation of what you were offering..

“I've used Cox and Kings for a their Kashmir - Paradise...”

I've used Cox and Kings for a their Kashmir - Paradise On Earth tour. It was simply breathtaking. It was me and my whole family. We had gone down last winter and we we there for like 8 days I think.They had organised it for Srinagar, Sonamarg , Gulmarg and some other places. The staff were really nice there and helpful too. The whole pony ride too was fun at Chandanwari(never forget the day :) )

My experience with Cox and Kings: A nightmare

We planned, a tour for USA in the month of May. I approached Cox and Kings a reputed travel agency.

I booked for the coast to coast tour with their agent located in Thane. The company is well establisehd and operating for many years, hence I did not feel the necessity to check with the other tour operators. I made the bookings well in advance(2 months). The tour was scheduled for 22nd May. I visited the agent 3-4 times for making payments and information etc. Every time I requested for the itinerary. They insisted that it was given just one day earlier to the departure as a practice. I requested again in May and received the same answer. I found this very ridiculous, being handed your ticket and itinerary just th previous day, though these plans are made well in advance. Yet I trusted the agent and waited till the 20th. Then I called the head office and asked them to send the itinerary. Despite having my address the documents were ,mailed to the agent on that day. He opened the mail the next day and called me at 12.00 pm saying my tickets were ready and I could pick them up any time in the day. As I was anxious, I rushed to collect them. It was the 21st of May. I checked the documents and was confused to see the date 21st May writtten on the documents. I asked him to clearify this. He called at the office and to my horror I was told that the flight was scheduled for the 21st may which meant I had to leave for USA within an hour. I was speechless.I had no time to argue. One can imagine my predicament. I rushed home and after a lot of hassles we reached the airport.
I least expected such a treatment from the tour operators of their repute. I write this so that whoever makes bookings should insist for the information under the right to information act.

“Company is not well managed in INDIA on ticketing and...”

Company is not well managed in INDIA on ticketing and franchising support but has a good brand name.
But the tour is managed well abroad especially in Europe.
They really need to revamp the shortcomings on doing a good service to customers in INDIA to travel abroad.
You are almost blackmailed either saying you may not get ticket,airliner is not concfirming what we can do etc.Some times you are forced to pay extra amount.

“I had booked for the Euro Tour Program through Cox and...”

I had booked for the Euro Tour Program through Cox and Kings on 21.1.10. and had paid Rs.18000/- as an advance through Cheque. After booking, I developed sudden back pain and I underwent tests and my doctor has advised complete rest for at least six months. Hence I had no choice but to cancel the program and I request them to reimburse the 18000/- which I paid as an advance.
This request was made with in two weeks,since I had made the advance payment.
But to my horror, they did not bother to accept this, nor were they willing to transfer it to another person (my son). I did a big mistake and I will never ever go to COX& Kings again.
