“utterly useless customer advisor.”

Ordered a gazebo on 18th Nov well in time for a party on 2nd Dec. Advertised 3-5 working day delivery. 9 days passed and it's now 27th November and no delivery and no update on the tracking. This company use XDP who are notoriously known for losing or damaging parcels (if I'd known this at the time or ordering I would not have ordered with this company), just take a look at XDP's reviews. Why any business still uses this courier, they are shockingly bad. Contacted customer service, firstly there is no contact number to speak to anyone, only enquiries by email and then they take forever to reply, so no way of getting in touch urgently. Sent an email on 27th Nov at 11:09am, explained the situation and that I need the item delivered by Friday that week (3 days time) and need this resolved quickly. I receive a generic auto response from a representative over 24 hours later the next day at 3:09pm stating they've received my enquiry. I respond stating I need this dealt with quickly, and if I am not going to receive the item by Friday then I need my order cancelled and refunded immediately. I also state my concerns regarding XDP that they are a notoriously poor courier and that I have no faith that the parcel will arrive at all. It then takes another day before I receive a response from her. 2 days already wasted. Even though I had explained that I need the item by Friday and that if that can't be sorted I need a refund, and that I don't trust XDP, he just states the obvious that the tracking of the parcel hasn't updated and is lost, and asks if I'd like a replacement sent which would be delivered in 5 working days with the same courier! Well 5 working days isn't going to get it to me by Friday is it she? Since it's now Wednesday 29th after you've taken 2 days to even response, and I need the item by Friday 1st in 2 days time. I respond to the email stating the obvious, that sending it on a 5 working day service is not going to get it to me on the day I need it by as already stated in the previous emails. I state that unless they can compensate for the delay by sending it via a next day service using a different courier to get it to me on time, I request yet again a immediate refund and cancellation of my order. Another day passes and I receive no response. I send a chaser email on Thursday 30th. And another day passes and still no response. SO now on Friday 1st December I end up contacting my credit card provider and initiate a section 75 chargeback to get my money back (Amex had my funds back in my account in no time at all). Another email sent to the representative stating I've still not received a response and a section 75 chargeback has been processed, and state that negative feedback will be left. Another 3 days pass before the representative responds on 4th December stating "The refund has now been processed, the funds will return to your account in the next few days. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter". The funds are already in my account you clown thanks to the section 75 chargeback as stated in the previous email. No apology, no acknowledgement of the service and no acknowledgement that I stated I'd be leaving negative reviews. Stating "thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter". Ordered elsewhere cheaper and with next day delivery included free. Was with me by early next morning on the Friday in time for when it was needed. First time I'd ever heard of TJ Hughes, rubbish service, definitely avoid this lot.

“No Show ”

“10 weeks and no items”

Ordered clothing on 24th July and 31 days later showed delivered on tracking but wasn't delivered to me.they sent out a repeat order to be told on 1st October I'd signed for delivery still got no items...I have notified the company I've got cctv of both dates proving I've had no delivery. I asked them for the name of their courier company and they said they have their own couriers accordingto my order dhl were supposed to be delivering my order.their solution is to offer me 60%of my original costs because they are out of pocket..IM ALSO OUT OF POCKET everything I've contacted the company I've been dealt with by a different rep. ABSOLUTELY DISGUTED

“online order”

“disgraceful service”

ordered a pair of trainers(first order from them) in size 11 tj hughes sent me a size 8/12. now they want me to pay p+p to return for a refund!. so they make the mistake and the buyer pays for their mistake and ignored my emails asking why I should be out of pocket for their mistake/incompetence a disgusting company in every aspect.

Horrible food standards. Took 20£ trying to serve hot food, horrible taste of macrone cheese, 3 yr old said "my vomitibg is coming" rubbish quiche, poorly washed cutlery. Looked around and everyone was having "just coffee", I am sure they knew food standard!!! Don't eat any food in Glasgow TJ Hughes restaurant......

“Took money no goods”

I placed an order on their website, after a few hours I got an email saying my card has been declined, I rang the bank TJH did have the money, it hadn't been declined, I sent TJH an email with the authorisation code, I have asked for the goods to be dispatched or immediate refund. They haven't answered my email, and if you ring them you won't get through to anyone that will help. Stay well clear of this company.

“Electric fire”

Placed order online on May 8th, After 3 days was still showing as being sorted/processed, this item was in stock when I placed order and was accepted, money was charged against my card, when I contacted TJ Hughes i was told there was a "Stock Issue" and that they had NO STOCK, then came the battle to get the claim against my card removed after several days and several e-mails this was sorted. These people are clowns SO no more orders from ME, i will also give their stores a MISS. Idiots, you either have stock or you don't.

“Extremely Disappointed Customer”

I purchased 2 single bed sets for TG Hughes in Glasgow. I tried to return them but was refused a refund on one of them as I had opened it. I explained that I had opened it to see if it would match the décor in my room and it had not being used. I admit to not getting the duvet set in the packaging properly as I found it quite difficult to get it back the same way. I would have like to have been told of this policy before purchasing the duvet sets and not after the purchase. I was more than happy to take a credit note but refused.

“Contacting website to track an order”

I have tried to contact the website to track an order I placed on 3rd January. The order still says processing. Cannot find contact details to speak with someone. I have been in local store and told nothing to do with them but given a number fior head office. Still no joy.frustrating and now wanting to cancel order

“Very poor quality and standard”

As an ex store manager and area role, I found the items were either a poor knock off or rejections for more quality retailers. The items I did buy when working there soon broke (this includes clothes, furniture and electrical). Money best spent elsewhere is you want it to last more than the life of goldfish.

“POOR customer service”

Be very careful when ordering from TJ Hughes, they cancel orders without advising the customer that they have done so. I ordered three items on 7th November 2015, two of them were to have been Christmas presents. When they didn't arrive I emailed TJ Hughes on five occasions because as far as I was concerned they had taken payment. It was only when I checked my Paypal account that I found that TJH had cancelled the order. They still haven't advised me of the reason and haven't responded to any of my emails. Very disappointed and will not bother ordering from them again in the future.

“WORST ONE YET!!”

Ordered a Juke Box and pair or cordless phones looking at the site you would think it was a reputable online service. No sign of the goods after making several call to the head office where their customer services would not return the calls or follow up on any emails I sent. When I got through to the so called head office the only person with some integrity was the security guard who was taking the the incoming calls as no one else was available. The only good thing is that they take no funds from you credit card until all the goods are shipped the funds are ring fenced by your bank which in my case will take 15days before the money is put back into the account. I will never deal with then again.

“Worst online service ever!!!!!”

I ordered 4 items from this apology of a company on 8 May 2015. I emailed them several times since then to enquire about the progress of the order and was fobbed off with replies such as "The reason for this delay is it has become necessary for stock to be transferred to our Distribution Centre in order to fulfil this order" and "I have emailed the warehouse department to see why your order has not been dispatched." I received an email from them today (almost 4 weeks later!)telling me that my order has been cancelled. No reason was given. PLEASE PLEASE do not place any orders with TJ Hughes.
