“M&S Outlets. Rubbish - product and customer service ”

I bought some white trainer quarter socks. First wash the colour from the highlights turned them all blue. Phoning M&S I dicover M&S Outlets are nothing to do with M&S, they are a franchise. They won't accept any responsibility for the poor products. How to ruin a brand. This is what poor management does. I won't be shopping at either again.

“rubbish outlet”

Hi I know not suppose to enter staff names but I wish to thank personally the staff at urban exchange ancoats who are the nicest and friendliest bunch of people I have seen in a store in particular the man and woman who regularly serve me nothing is to much trouble and. Help me carry my shopping to the car. They are a credit to Ur storeThere is  another person  who always has a smile . Young people like them make the whole shopping experience very pleasant. “marks & spencer have zero customer satisfaction”

I sent a complaint to M&S about their connection with the terrible M&S outlet THEY IGNORED MY COMPLAINT (sent 2 months ago) My opinion of M&S is zero customer care. AVOID M&S OUTLET AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Worst online shopping experience EVER”

I made 2 separate orders from the online M&S Outlet and they were delivered very promptly. In fact one was delivered by Yodel the next day. One order was for a mans suit. Unfortunately, not only did they send it in the wrong fitting (sent Super Slim instead of just Slim) but sent a version with a herringbone stripe not the plain suit in their photo. The other order of trousers was also sent in the wrong fitting (straight instead of slim), I phoned them up and asked if I could send both orders back together and they agreed and said they would refund my postage costs in 2-3 weeks. I posted back at a cost of £9.10 and 4 days later got 2 e mails saying they were going to refund me for the trouser order minus postage both ways, and for the suit order they had issued a refund for just the trousers NOT the jacket and again no postage refund. I e mailed them and they replied saying they would refund the cost of the jacket and the postage cost to return items but they still have not agreed to refund the 2 x £3.50 they charged me to deliver the orders. I can see this going on forever. The distance selling regs require that postage costs you pay the seller must be refunded if you return within 7 days (I returned the same a I received). Cant believe M&S are not complying with this regulation. I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND COULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYBODY.

“STAFF BEHAVIOUR!”

My experience in The Marks and Spencer Outlet in Byker, Newcastle Upon Tyne has on various occasions been upsetting, due to a number of sales staff making derogatory comments about customers thinking they are not being overheard. The young man who was manager thought my concerns were quite amusing, despite saying he would look into the matter. Such rude and unprofessional behaviour from staff members involved including the manager who seemed to think it was all a bit of a joke (judging by the expression on his face)is clearly not acceptable. I am perfectly polite and appreciative of others and will expect nothing less in return. I would ask for this arrogant 'above the law mentality' to be eradicated in stores; where customers feel they are being targeted for the amusement of bored sales staff(particularly at the long checkout area). On a positive note the shop is spacious with a range of good value/quality clothing. Which is a shame, as I do not feel I can continue visiting the Byker Outlet if this present attitude continues to exist. New employees with a healthy positive commitment who promote the M&S values will enhance customer relations and boost store profits. Which highlights the importance of more mature sales staff providing a good example to younger or newly recruited staff as certainly is not the case at the above.

“Terrible Customer Service”

I received an incorrect order (ordered from the Marks & Spencer outlet website) and when I queried it, was told I needed to return item to Marks & Spencer at my expense, I hasten to add. They 'kindly' offered to refund the postage when it was returned (how many times have I heard this from companies who then renegade on it?). Given it was their fault, not mine, for sending the incorrect order in the first place, I reminded them of their duties pertaining to the Distant Selling Regulations. Refunds (regulation 14: 3.46) which I highly recommend to anyone to download a copy of; as it clearly shows what these companies are getting away with at the customer's expense. Suffice to say, the reason for this scathing review is because Marks and Spencer Outlet is now ignoring my emails, which in my view speaks volumes about the contempt it shows to their customers. Would I recommend the Marks and Spencer Outlet? Absolutely not!

“STINKING CLOTHES - WOULD NOT REFUND ME IN FULL”

BEWARE M&S OUTLET!!! I ORDERED AN ITEM AS A GIFT FOR A FRIEND. IT SMELT SO TERRIBLE AND I HAD TO RETURN THE ITEM - I HAVE RECEIVED AN EMAIL SAYING I WILL NOT BE REFUNDED IN FULL AS IT WAS PART OF AN ORDER!!THE OTHER TWO ITEMS WERE FOR ME AND AFTER WASHING (THEY ALSO STUNK) THEY WERE OK. I HAVE NEVER HEARD SUCH RUBBISH. I WILL BE MAKING A COMPLAINT WITH M&S AND WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. I DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY KEEP THEIR STOCK BUT IT STINKS. YOU HAVE TO PAY POSTAGE TO RETURN AN ITEM. BEWARE!! ROBDOGS

The items I received smelled really bad and were nothing like the photos. Still smelled awful even after airing for 2 days!!!!!! Will now have to return at my expense. Will never use M&S Outlet again. Rubbish

Bought a pair men's cords from outlet website. Arrived promptly but both waist and inside leg sizes were wrong, not matching advertised size. Can only return by amazon at my expense on the off chance of getting refund eventually. Cannot return to an outlet. Other reviewers suggest won't be easy. Totally poor service. I won't make same mistake again.

Ordered a pair of trousers,received an email to say that they had been despatched,and that the order could no longer be changed.Two days later,received an email to say that the order was being cancelled,as they were out of stock!! How can something that was despatched, be out of stock 2 days later??

This is not a live website and is served by Amazon,this means you may or may not receive your items.I didn't 2 days after placing the order only half my items came.Obviously i was refunded but disappointing for a leading chain.

“STAY CLEAR”

Order a coat and boots from this site on 13/11/2013 And paid For express delivery!!by the 18th it still hadn't been shipped let alone delivered. I phoned the m/s number and was told I don't know why it hasn't been sent we have your money(I know) I was told they would have to send to another department to investigate and would get back to me. Today 20th nov phoned again as had heard nothing.The nice lady told me she didn't know and would have to send off to the department to investigate it and yep would get back to me she couldn't refund me until it had been investigated I could re-ordered of course without the 20percent discount promotion and give them another£89.00 as I Would probably get refunded.surprise surprise I refused this tempting offer on asking when I would get my money back the reply Well we have to wait for the investigation maybe quite a while as they arn't to quick but after that 5-7 working days and so marks well done I parted with my money on the 13th of november and the earliest it will be returned to me is the 30th no coat no boots and no cash to choose to shop elsewhere. Frankly if you put your name to something and Marks is one we trust or did then you are responsible for it's conduct. A very poor service which I would not recommend to anybody

“TWELVE POUNDS to return ONE dress!”

I ordered several items but a dress was unsuitable. I knew that I would have to stand the cost of any return when I ordered but it was only when I looked into how to return that I discovered that it had to be returned in the original packaging it arrived in, which was a box that was far too large when it had 5 items in it! The lady in the post office explained that it cost £11.96 to return by the cheapest method because of the Amazon box. If it had arrived in a plastic envelope like most catalogue companies use it would have been less that half the cost. Any savings I made was all but wiped out. I will never order from M&S Outlet again

Shop online with Marks and Spencers all the time...but used the outlet and did not realise it was handled by Amazon.When I needed to return something they were really terrible...very unhelpful... thank goodness I KEPT MY PROOF OF POSTAGE or I would not have a leg to stand on...still have not been refunded...but I live in hope...only £31.00 but I won't let it drop...will keep you all informed

“ Marks and Spencer online outlet. Returns - high P+P...”

I buy all my clothes online as I'm unable to get to the shops. I bought a fleece (Per Una) and pyjama top (Autograph) from Marks and Spencer's online outlet. Delivery took a couple of days. Items were good quality but VERY small sizing. To avoid getting the wrong size (ALL postage costs are to be paid by the customer) I had rung the help line before making my purchase but was reassured by the operator that a medium would be an adequate equivalent to size 16 for the fleece. I later rechecked the sizing on the website and discovered that in Per Una 16 is equivalent to a 14; i.e. a size smaller than their normal 16 products! In all the goods cost approx £32. Postage to me was £3.95 plus £5.20 return P+P by Royal Mail (cheapest parcel rate), approx. £9 wasted! My advice would be NOT to shop online at this outlet unless you are 100% sure of the size you want or prepared to spend a lot on shipping charges!

Re above review: I have since received my refund on the above items and was very (pleasantly) surprised to find that I had been refunded £1.75 per item, i.e. £3.50 towards P+P costs. No idea why, not apparent from T&C!

under distance selling regulations you are entitled to a refund of the delivery charge provided you return the items in 7 days and you return all the goods in the condition you recieved themin. just do a search for "refund postage oft" and you will see for yourself

“NOT M&S - and no-one , including standard stores,...”

Having visited the outlet at Street on a few occasions when passing we always felt it was even worse than M&S Sales generally - and that is pretty bad! Nothing alerted us to the fact that items bought here were not returnable to M&S stores - there were no signs and we were not warned by the staff. The shirt was smaller than the usual size so we tried to return to a M&S store locally to be told - "outlets are franchises, we can't take this back". It was under £20 so the money wasn't an issue but I feel that M&S should also take some responsibility for letting people know that their usual returns policy does not apply. No wonder M&S are losing money - bad service and overpriced clothes that the world and his wife are wearing. Debenhams & John Lewis have similar prices, better quality and more exclusive lines. I will think seriously about using M&S again!

“NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS SITE....”

Do not buy anything from M&S Outlet site if you think you will need to return it. I purchased two suits and an extra pair of trousers for my son. They arrived very quickly but that is the only commendable thing. First suit is not true to size, compared to a previous one bought from an M&S store. The second one is advertised as Black but actually has a self stripe. Not suitable for a teenager for school, looks like an undertakers suit. Now I am going to have to pay a LOT of money to return items that are not as advertised. When I rang customer services to ask about returns the employee just went on about making sure I got an receipt for posting, very nice of her but hardly the point. I am never going to buy anything from this site again and am seriously considering not buying from Marks and Spencer either. The service does not match expectations considering it is an M&S company. I agree with an earlier reviewer Debenhams does offer a superior service. Next stop- emailing the managing director and hitting twitter.

“Don't waste your money!!”

Thought this would be the same as Marks & Spencer sales. The clothes look like they were stored under a mattress. The quality is extremely poor. You have to pay to return items. As it is Marks and Spencer you would expect a high level of service. You cannot return in-store. The packing slip or receipt note has no price on it so you are not even sure if they have charged you the correct amount.
