I learnt to drive with Red Driving School in the Morden area, and my instructor's name is Martin Lyons. On my very first trial lesson with Martin,I knew that he would be my instructor throughtout my driving. He is a very calm and patient man.He knows exactly how to make his nervous pupil to relax and to forget everything that happens at home.I quote"whatever happens at home, just leave behind the closed doors, because the moment you are behind the wheels its your time" Today if I've passed my test,it will be because of my instructor faith in me.Finally I would 100% recommend him to everyone in my area as he is just the best.Thank you once again Martin because of you today I am an independent woman who wouldn't have to rely on anyone anymore.

Got a very good response from RED within a day about the driving instructor. They did a great job putting me with David Palmer. David is an instructor whom I would really recommend. He carries himself in a very professional and friendly manner. I was really surprised with the pace I learnt. His lessons were well organised and focused on my weak areas - Never wasting time with unnecessary stuff and gets straight to the point. He made sure I familiarised all the test routes and pointed out the tricky bits. If you are a good listener you would definitely save money and time. For me, I am just another happy customer.

I learnt to drive with RED Driving School. My instructors name is Tony Moore. I am from the Goole area and did my test in York. I was a little nervous on my very first lesson but when I met Tony he put me at ease straight away. Each lesson I did I became more and more confident and that was with the reassurance of Tony. He was always very calm and friendly, even when I did get a little frustrated with myself. I would definitely recommend Tony as a driving instructor. He could always fit me in with a lesson each week even when I had a busy week with work and other things. Many thanks Tony! Couldn't have done it without your help.

I learnt with 'RED Driving School' and my instructor was Dale Gutteridge. Dale was great! He was always patient with me and encouraging when I had difficulty with different maneuver's.
I felt RED was value for money - each lesson was only £20 which for me was great only earning a part-time salary.
I really enjoyed learning to drive and with a friendly, positive instructor I looked forward to each lesson. And with simple techniques I picked up the skills easily and quickly.
Also, I felt I passed fairly quickly - in less than 9 months. Compared to many of my friends who started at the same time, if not before, and still have not passed! And now I have a car in time for my 18th which is awesome :)
So thanks Dale, from Nicole!

I learnt in the York/Tadcaster area and my instructor was Tony Moore. As an instructor, Tony was fantastic. He was always patient calm and encouraging, never making you feel inadequate. While a lot of my friends have had problems with driving instructors from a variety of companies and areas, I never doubted Tony's abilities to help me pass. I also feel it is important to find an instructor whose company you can enjoy so as to comfortably spend extremely long periods of time with him. Tony is easy to talk to and does his best to keep you at ease throughout the learning experience. He is definitely deserving of a great recommendation.

Avoid! Red Driving school = Unprofessional. Had to ask me directions to get to my house before my lesson, then when i entered the car the instructor turned on the radio and was real weirdo. I drove the whole 2 hours with the radio playing and an instructor who wouldn't stop talking! Felt like a joy ride! Very Hazadous!

I was taught by Leigh(ADI413483)from Red Driving School and he was fantastic. He used simple and easy techniques that helped me develop my driving skills. He was paitent and made sure that I understood every instruction. He was constently re-assuring and leading up to the test although I didn't feel ready he was always there for me. I think he is a fantastic teacher and I couldn't of imagined passing my test had I not been taught by him.

I recently passed my test in York having moved up here halfway through learning to drive, to attend the university. I started in York with Tony Moore and passed first time. I enjoyed the lessons which were relaxed and in depth.
Perhaps for me two hour lessons proved a little too long in the end, as I found my concentration would usually drop after about 1.5h, but i'm sure this varies from person to person.
I picked Red and Tony because he was very professional, friendly and helpful when i was searching for an instructor, and his lessons were good value for money. I was not disappointed and am very pleased to be driving.

Karen Miller from South Manchester area was my instructor and only this morning I passed my driving test first time!!
Karen is an amazing, bubbly and fun person who makes you see driving as something fun (i had another instructor from another company which made me scared of roads for a year). She never makes you feel pressured, she never shouts, she never does anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. You can honestly count on her. Shes become a friend now and Id recommend EVERYONE to learn with her.
THANK YOU SO MUCH KAREN!

My driving instructor was 'Mac' from Red Driving. At the start i was very nervous and my confidence was rock bottom. Through talking over my concerns, worries and any other questions I had ,about driving or my test, with Mac it helped me to relax and focus on building my confidence. I took my test in Buxton and passed first time with 2 minors. Mac had not been to Buxton before but still managed to prepare me fully to take my test. Thanks alot Mac for all your support, patience and hard work! I would totaly recommmend Mac and Red Driving School. Vicki

My Name is Ryan Bruce abd i was taught by Andy Sineath at Red Driving School in Aberdeen. I had heard good things about Andy Sineath through this review page and from som colleagues & friends and was able to secure a first lesson quickly after a cancellations became available. Andy's diary is always busy and I think that speaks volumes for how many people wish to be taught by him. He always demanded the best from you and was always there if you needed any help or advice. I recommend anyone to be taught by Mr Sineath, i passed first time with only a couple of minors. You are a Legend, i will never ever forget that you opened my life up to a new experience of being a qualified driver, for that i will always remember you.

We practised in the dark, different weather conditions and on different types of road to build confidence. Mel made me feel very comfortable and makes learning to drive fun! Excellent :)

I learnt with Andrew Jones who I'd already known for some time before I turned 17, but he would have been just as friendly and encouraging if we were complete strangers. He was always flexible with booking lessons and tried to fit his timetable around his students as best as possible. If he ever had to cancel a lesson, it was with a valid reason and plenty of notice so I was able to rearrange and not lose out on valuable driving time before my test.

★★★★★

written by alicefe on 14/12/2010

My instructor was Mac who was with Red Driving School. I had had 6 weeks out from driving so to have someone as friendly as Mac was a huge help. Straight away he was chatting and getting to know what I could do and what I wanted to do as I had my mind set on passing in less than 10 hours of lessons. Straight away I was driving just to get back into Mac didn't push me into doing manoeuvres straight away as I had told him they weren't my favourite. However Mac had little techniques for me to remember what to do when doing a manoeuvres and little things/jokes that I still remember when I am driving on my own. Straight away I felt at ease and comfortable. I did my test after 5 hours and passed which made it better is what Mac had a well done card for me waiting this just shows how genuinely nice Mac is. Thank you Mac

★★★★★

written by DeMoB on 09/12/2010

My experience of RED Driving School was via Mac McCran (Chesterfield), and it couldn't have been better.

Red aren't the cheapest driving school around, but their quality instruction is definitely worth the asking price.

Mac was an excellent driving instructor, and always made me feel relaxed during driving and manoeuvring, even if I didn't get things right straight away. Anything we attempted was explained clearly and concisely, and he was always happy to re-explain something if I had forgotten some of it by the next lesson.

I'd had driving lessons with BSM before, and had hated them. But learning to drive with Red (and specifically Mac) made me enjoy driving. Thank's to Mac's teaching, I was able to pass first time with only 6 minors.

Having successfully got both my daughters through their tests with RED, I couldn’t have been more pleased. To my understanding from my Daughters, you can change instructors whenever you wish, on the proviso that there is more RED instructors available in your area.

I did because I had already had lesson with another driving instructor different driving school and I joined Red to pass my test but after a couple of lessons I booked my test and then found out he couldn't fit me in for my test on that date so I phoned Red and they booked me with another instructor, he took me for some more lessons and then in to my Test which I eventually passed

Just phone the RED office to see what the availability is in the area. It might be worth sticking with it for a few lessons while you are new to driving

Hi Humayraa, all of the prices vary depending on how many lessons you wish to book, all of the prices are given to you whilst you are on the phone, If you decide to use Red Driving, then whilst on the phone with them tell them that you would like a Female instructor and they will do that for you. Within a few minutes of booking my lessons I received an email from Red with all of the details of my instructor, and before I had finished reading the Email the Instructor was on the phone introducing himself and making arrangements for the lessons Hope this helps
