“I first took driving lessons with a local school when...”

★★★★★

written by on 07/02/2013

I first took driving lessons with a local school when I was seventeen and failed my tests several times before giving up. During the next 17 years I developed a fear of the road until my husband took control of the situation and bought me RED driving vouchers as a present. For the first few months I was a nervous wreck, but my driving instructor, Agnieszka Pietrszynska, was fantastic. She was encouraging and supportive, and identified mistakes without making me feel hopeless about my driving. She was also incredibly perceptive and knew the right level at which to challenge me without destroying my confidence. Agnieszka was also professional at all times, she kept meticulous records of lessons and payments, and rarely altered schedules. I was also reassured by the fact that she was as concerned about the cost of lessons as her learners and never wasted my time. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her to friends and would sincerely like to thank her for all her efforts in helping me pass my test!

“Best Instructor Ever”

★★★★★

written by antony.joseph on 07/02/2013

Vipin Chakrapani my driving instructor was simply awesome. I had tried other instructors before but I can vouch he is different for the following reasons. 1-He is motivational. 2-Makes you understand driving rather than simply instructing you how to drive. 3.Very accommodating to your schedule. 4.Honest in his opinion about your driving skills. 5. Listens to your inhibition about driving and helps you overcome the same. Having failed a couple of times he was instrumental in me passing the driving test.

I booked a few lessons with Red after being unhappy with my previous instructor. I was taught by Basir Ahmad who is a fantastic instructor - flexible with timing, and extremely patient! Despite me being a nervous driver, he managed to help me pass my test first time! All the money spent has been worth it! Thanks Red driving school!

“Christopher Bartlett, a top notch instructor!”

★★★★★

written by leedsutd1 on 03/02/2013

Having initially started to drive at the age of 17 but only doing a few hours due to a lack of enthusiasm, I was a little wary of starting to learn again now at 21 but my life meant I needed to so I went for an instructor recommended by a friend and was put in touch with [name removed]. Never went through RED themselves, just straight on the phone to [name removed]and first lesson booked within days. Being in the situation of relearning everything I'd done years before I was hoping not to start from scratch, [name removed] made this really easy and let me go off at my pace and just made it possible to pick everything up again and get into the rhythm with ease. After the first couple of lessons we'd already been through a large majority of the skills and things required to pass my test and for the following couple it was just a matter of perfecting my driving so as I could pass. 7 lessons in total in the space of just 4 weeks and I was test standard, unfortunately failed my first attempt but it was all down to myself speeding and nothing on the driving/learnt side of things as I only came out with 3 simple minors. No more lessons required between failure and 2nd test, passing with ease this time round, only 2 minors and a very successful test. I cannot thank [name removed]enough for being an extremely efficient, friendly and helpful driving instructor, couldn't recommend any better!

“Couldn't have asked for more! Absolutely amazing!!”

★★★★★

written by eahunt1 on 01/02/2013

What can I say?! I absolutely loved my Red Driving School experience! My driving instructor couldn't have made me feel any more comfortable and confident in my own abilities, ending in a first pass with 1 minor! My instructor ensured I felt safe through repeating exercises I didn't feel were my strongest and never making negative comments but constructive criticism (if you could call it that). I would recommend anyone and everyone to join this driving school if all the instructors are as encouraging as mine! Thanks so much guys! :)

“Jonathan Reed from RED Driving School is the bomb!”

★★★★★

written by ror.mc on 01/02/2013

I learnt from scratch to drive through RED Driving School in Lambeth with my instructor Jonathan Reed! Really good instructor, teaches you everything you need to know in a very clam well thought out manner. Also a good laugh when driving about, should learn quickly with john. Thinking back to when i started and knew absolutely nothing about how to drive a car I'm amazed i have now passed in such little time (about 5 months). All thanks to this guy! Top bloke, professional when needed and knows what hes doing! Thanks!

I would highly recommend gary as a driving instructor, brilliant teacher, hes a good laugh, easy to get along with but get on his bad side and you might be getting the bus home. as an ex paramedic driving teacher he knows what hes talking about! i am more than satisfied with the training i have recieved.

“NEVER EVER book driving lessons with RED!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by GabrielaOlmos on 31/01/2013

I decided to pay for classes at RED since I needed to exchange my non-EU driving licence for a UK one. After long negotiation about the best package on the phone got convinced to buy a several hours package. The instructors deliver the initial classes after several cancelations and re-negotiations, thought this was normal procedure. I did a mock test (not aiming to pass) and left enough time for a last practice and exam time. Time was already pre-paid. All this was done before Christmas in preparation of a holiday. There are written proofs but it appears the instructor never updated the system, and I trusted this was ok. Yet, the day he actually updated the system, he stated he has delivered all the time I have paid for when it was absolutely not true. He altered the dates using the cancelations as actual dates. I called him (the instructor) and texted him to ask him to correct this as soon as possible. I couldn’t contact RED as it was late/ out of office and I needed to leave the country next day for a holiday. I trusted he will do what He has promised but it appears he did not. Two days before I have to sit the exam I receive a phone call from RED saying the instructor was made redundant. I ask for the time he owes me and also for a car/instructor for my exam that I was going to sit in a couple of days; me being sure he has fixed the dates as I requested. They mention they have not records of that. But on the contrary that all my pre-paid time was already delivered. Also mentioned they are not responsible of the actions of their instructors and they are not responsible of ensuring a car/instructor for the exam but welcome to schedule more time with them in attempt to find me one for the day! What a mess! NO instructor, NO car, UNABLE TO MAKE the exam and still RED SCHOOL OWE ME 72 POUND OF UNDELIVERED TIME! Plus the fact I almost lose 62 pounds for not being able to attend the exam! (Fortunately I found a friend who helped me – and was able to do the exam on the day) I file a complaint with RED. A month later and they have NOT resolved nothing, plus every time I call their offices they say the complain team is unavailable!!!! SUMMARY: Horrible Company, horrible instructor! NEVER EVER TRUST IN RED!!! Never book lessons with them. Other companies are easier, local & cheaper. They claim they will give good service and you will be instructed well and my case proves the contrary.

Dear Gabriella. Unfortunately, you clearly had a very bad experience with this particular instructor. However, this is not common. I work for RED and have extremely high standards as do a lot of my coleagues. It is very unfortunate for you but had you lived near to me I would have helped you out. Please see my recent comment from my student above. I do hope you pass your test soon.

Gary

Learnt to drive with the RED instructor 'Rip' - Martin Eyre, in the Diss area. He is a fantastic instructor; he ensures that you enjoy driving as well as being safe, I found his explanations made it easy to pick up the techniques of driving and I would definitely recommend him to a friend and to anyone looking for a driving instructor in the area.

“Passed at First Attempt with Demush Gashi”

★★★★☆

written by sithuhtaik on 23/01/2013

Coming here to settle from another country where driving regulations are different, I took 48 hours with Demush. He's a good instructor, and highly recommended. My feedback on him would be: + He's punctual + He takes you to test routes repeatedly + He advises you to Google for video tutorials + I'm impressed by his last minutes re-caps before the test - He was a bit impatient at first before knowing you well - He has so many students that he sometimes confuses on my progress individually. The car was Vauxhall Corsa 2010 model which is a good one for learners.

She text me with reminders before each lesson Thanks Again. Rachel .

Having successfully got both my daughters through their tests with RED, I couldn’t have been more pleased. To my understanding from my Daughters, you can change instructors whenever you wish, on the proviso that there is more RED instructors available in your area.

I did because I had already had lesson with another driving instructor different driving school and I joined Red to pass my test but after a couple of lessons I booked my test and then found out he couldn't fit me in for my test on that date so I phoned Red and they booked me with another instructor, he took me for some more lessons and then in to my Test which I eventually passed

Just phone the RED office to see what the availability is in the area. It might be worth sticking with it for a few lessons while you are new to driving

Red have self employed drivers and half way through my lessons my instructor moved away bk to Europe and red had no other instructor for me had to start all over again with different company and was offered no apology or compensation for the set bk and had to cancel my test

Hi Humayraa, all of the prices vary depending on how many lessons you wish to book, all of the prices are given to you whilst you are on the phone, If you decide to use Red Driving, then whilst on the phone with them tell them that you would like a Female instructor and they will do that for you. Within a few minutes of booking my lessons I received an email from Red with all of the details of my instructor, and before I had finished reading the Email the Instructor was on the phone introducing himself and making arrangements for the lessons Hope this helps
