“The most disgraceful customer services”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Sobbohi on 31/08/2023

The most disgraceful customer services The most disgraceful customer services. We have had a large number of problems with newly installed kitchen. Have spend at least 40 minutes on the phone and on their website (live chat) to get a response from Wick's customer services. This is totally unacceptable and a disgrace.

“Terrible service, terrible fitters, terrible products”

★☆☆☆☆

written by CalvinMonroe445 on 08/07/2023

Kitchen was installed in 2017, all was reasonable at the time apart from the fitter not plumbing the sink in properly. That got resolved easily. In 2022 our kitchen doors changed colour (went from white to cream), obvious fault during manufacturer. It took Wickes 11 months to resolve this, 13 days I had to take off work to accommodate all the separate deliveries and the fitter they sent was so incompetent it was untrue. In the end he couldn't actually do the work properly so I had to resort to replacing the doors myself. Wickes took 11 months to resolve the complaint and offer a bare minimum compensation of £50 per day that I had to take off work. As a self employed engineer who earns between £350 & £550 per day this was an insult. To top it all, when Wickes eventually agreed to pay compensation of just under £2000 for the trouble, they tried to sign me into an NDA to restrict publication of all their faults and the dangerous working practices we had captured on video during the works. This company are not to be trusted and if you buy a kitchen or bathroom from them, it's likely it will be terribly installed and not fit for purpose. Be warned.

“terrible quality and poor customer service ”

written by on 04/07/2023

I purchased a kitchen and a bathroom from the carslile store. After payment was taken the problems began it took three months for the work to begin on the kitchen. however both my cooker and bench tops were delayed leaving me a half finished kitchen with no surfaces or sink access to hot and cold water and a temporary cooker for three months. within weeks of completion the cabinet ends on the floor began to split it took months for a response when i was eventually responded to I was told that they accepted no responsibility for the split cabinets as they are not under garuntee. wickes also forgot about my bathroom for 8 months and it required several phone calls to prompt delivery and fitting.

No Customer service Attempted to place an online order, took some time, checking the store had stock (plenty) yet after trying to pay for the basket said items out of stock, emailed wickes with the details, and basket number, got a fast reply, what is the basket number? replied again, with stock numbers, basket number, screen shot, no reply, waited and waited no reply, so wrote to the CEO got an auto reply saying wait 2 days, so 5 days and ..... why do they call this customer service? there is no service no one cares anymore, and certainly not about the customers

“Terrible Service”

written by GiannaClarke289 on 11/05/2023

Ordered a kitchen in February to be fitted in April, installer did not come out to measure until April and stated installation would be September. After complaining another installer visited, promised to install early may and took a further payment. Reached May advised installation could not be done in the month. Cancelled. Worst service ever experienced.

“Do not use ”

written by Joyeoman1 on 25/04/2023

Had a kitchen fitted so badly by one of thier fitters- there was also question over the 'extra charges' wickes were nit interested in that or his behaviour and he is still working for them. After months of arguing with them they eventually refitted the kitchen as it was so bad. Took a year in total and I got compensation of just over £1 a day for the hell they put me through. Once they have your money they don't care.

“Just avoid at all costs!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by LeeArmstrong25 on 02/04/2023

A year ago I paid my deposit. It took 6 months to get the kitchen in and it was a total bodge job. Six months after that and it's still not finished. I've been let down 5 times by 2 different fitters. There has been so much poor communication and buck passing, so many mistakes and wrong deliveries (I've had 7 or 8 so far!) I could scream and, in the meantime I have no living room, as it is full of bits of kitchen left over from the fit or needed for the snagging. The contents of my kitchen are in boxes in the bedroom (I live in a small 1-bed flat). I'm sick of living out of boxes. Wickes have left me living in a pigsty for half a year and nobody seems interested in doing anything about it, least of all the fitter who did such a poor job in the first place. If they had told me it would be six months, I could have put my kitchen back together, then dismantled it again for the snagging work. Instead, it's been a torrent of, "we just need to sort this," or "it'll just be a couple of weeks" etc, over and over. I've put in 4 formal complaints about various things, none of which seem to have gone anywhere and customer services, although friendly and well-intentioned, simply don't have the power to do much more than send messages round the company. I desperately wish I'd never even heard of Wickes. Avoid at all costs.

“After sales and Warranty. Be Warned !!!”

★★☆☆☆

written by RogerYoung1981 on 29/03/2023

In September 2022 my wife and I ordered a new kitchen from Wickes, I was a little dubious at the time being a 'cheap' DIY outlet. However, having placed my order and paid some £18,000, which was not cheap, the kitchen was supplied and fitted. Up to recently everything was fine, the installation was excellent and the finished product looked great. However, about six weeks ago we noticed that one of the handless doors was cracking and realised the laminated coating was breaking away. We contacted our local store who escalated our concerns to customer services. They in turn agreed to replace the door on a supply only basis. I wrote to them on the 21st March some eight days ago reference installation and have not received the courtesy of a reply. The door arrived today the 29th March and again I attempted to contact the original writer but no answer. I therefore went on their chat line. I would add the door in question is attached to a built in unit and is not a simple replacement which I could do. After various written comments from both parties it was made very clear that the fault was wear and tear. After Only eighteen months !!!!. The person on Chat was adamant Wickes would not honour their guarantee and refit the new door and it was being supplied only as a goodwill gesture i.e. supply only. This evidently shows the product is not fit for purpose and further their guarantee is not worth the paper it is written on, 2 YEARS ON DOORS. Incidentally they confirmed their warranty covers poor workmanship and manufacturing faults. I would suggest that Laminate coating pealing off after just 18 months was a manufacturing fault. To conclude, I feel very let down by Wickes and would never use them again. their products may look good whilst they are new but be warned if you have a problem they will probably not fully address the situation as in my case. This is certainly not the service I would have expected and falls far short of all the sales patter received prior to handing over your money. I am now left with a bill of around £80 to employ a professional fitter to install it.

“Wickes bathroom installation stay well clear !!!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Kassidyr109 on 05/03/2023

I had a bathroom fitted in August 22 in September I noticed the bath was cracked, contacted the fitter and Wickes customer services and at first all went well an new bath was delivered and I arranged a weekend for the fitter to change the bath. Know one turned up and no phone call to let me know they were not coming. After a lot of phone calls I arranged a new date., The fitter changed the bath and all seemed OK until a few weeks later I noticed a stain appearing on my dinning room ceiling. I called the fitter and he came round and fixed the problem and said he would be back once it had dried out to paint the ceiling but that night I noticed the stain was spreading and the artex was starting to come away. Again after many phone calls to the fitter and Wickes Customer services he came round and agreed to repair the ceiling but at that stage it was clear it needed completely re-artexing and I said I would not be happy if it did not match the existing ceilings pattern. The fitter came round with a guy who turned out to be a plasterer he re-artexed the ceiling but not to the standard I wanted so I said I would take it up with Wickes, he said he would be back in a couple of days to paint the ceiling but again I heard nothing so ended up painting it myself. And at this point I also noticed the sealant was coming away from the newly installed bath. I have been in touch with Wickes customer relations and their first resolution was for me to find someone myself to re-artex the ceiling and find someone to re-seal the bath to which I said No I’ve paid Wickes for the bathroom so it’s down to them to arrange the repairs. It is now March 2023 and nothing has been done, basically now Wickes have my 7k they are not interested in me as they priorities new installations I basically have to wait until they can be bothered to fit me in. Wickes customer relations are appalling they do absolutely nothing just excuses after excuses. So I would advise to Stay well clear!!!

“Wickes Kitchen Hell (Carlisle)”

★☆☆☆☆

written by JaslynJensen441 on 05/03/2023

Payed Wickes in full Dec 2021 for a premium fitted kitchen to be installed in March 2022 by Wickes (so called)best installer - (2019 BiKBBI Winner) Billy Ashcroft. Payed him in full too before completion. Because I thought I could trust Wickes 100% - There web site- guarantee on cabinets (20yr), doors & drawer fronts (10yr), Wickes installers will fit your kitchen to the highest standards- workmanship guarantee (2yr).That looked good to me. And their best installer, what could possibly go wrong! Well just about everything- the installer rushed everything (9 days), & as a result nothing has been done to standard -1-The plastered walls are uneven, rough, hollow sounding areas, long crack in middle of ceiling, thin plaster cracked on top of soft builders foam, messy plaster over skirting boards & radiator pipework. -2-Tiled floor is uneven (2 trip hazard tiles-dangerous) unlevel (no good for table or stools), most tiles are hollow sounding. -3-Wall tiles are uneven, unlevel, 2 cracked ones, second layer of grout falling out (second layer added as first layer was sharp & not filled up & smoothed right first time). -4-'Tiverton'- cupboards, drawer fronts, trims, panels, are cracked, warped, coming apart at joints, filler panel missing.- they were installed onto wet plastered walls. + my own doors (kitchen & utility) have warped too. -5-Worktop edges are peeling. -6-Elecric socket facia faulty. -7-Radiators not fitted back properly, & my radiator pipework twisted. - 8-Many more problems including outside tap not fitted over the drain. etc etc. I've been so very depressed, so stressed I cann't sleep, got shingles on my face (has left me scarred) through all the stress, & a terrible feeling that we have been deceived by Wickes & their fitter of over £20'000 I've been complaining since March 2022, (sent over 50 emails to them + calls + loads of photos of the many faults) but Wickes fob us off all the time Regional Installations Manager- fobbing us off with falsies saying it has been done to a good standard. Customer Relations don't care & the big Boss- David Wood just passes my emails back to Customer Relations, who take weeks to email back & never seem to answer anything we ask them. At last November they send one of their fitters around to give a second opinion as we are still not happy (how could we possibly be happy with our shabby mess of a kitchen & utility). These fitters can see all the problems right away, their report says it needs ripping out & a complete refit. But Wickes Installation Manager disagrees, so nothing is done. We get the Ombudsman involved, they too have said that it hasn.t been installed to industry standards & the whole lot has to be taken out & refitted by an experienced installation team, & it all has to be redone again -including plastering, floor tiling, wall tiling, new cupboards, the whole lot. But Wickes are not doing anything, except going out of their way to constantly delay doing anything. Wickes do NOT stand by anything they promise or guaranty on their website. Trading Standards should get involved. And they don't care, or fail to acknowledge that customers are protected in law - Breach of Contract, Customer Rights Act 2015, Customer Protection Act 1987, & Customer Protection from unfair trading regulation 2008. I don't know when (what year) my kitchen will be- My Dream Kitchen, instead of My Nightmare Kitchen, I only know for certain Wickes is a very bad company if you have a problem with their kitchen installation, they would rather delay delay delay & fob you off & do nothing at all, to resolve the problems. And although I am depressed all the time I am here, we can not even sell our home with it looking as bad as it does until something is done. So Kitchen Buyer Beware, don't put yourselves through this nightmare, shop somewhere else, & save yourself a lot of stress. I will be taking Wickes to court if not resolved soon.

written by JFV1 on 30/01/2023

READ THE SMALL PRINT / TERMS AND CONDITIONS BECAUSE ONCE YOU HAVE BOUGHT YOUR KITCHEN, WICKES DO NOT WANT TO KNOW. " TERMS AND CONDITIONS" SEEMS TO BE THEIR ANSWER TO EVERYTHING AFTER SALES IS NON EXISTENT.STAFF ARE RUDE AND DISMISSIVE. IT SEEMS THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS WRONG AND NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. THERE IS A NON RETURN POLICY EVEN IF THINGS ARE NOT NEEDED OR DO NOT FIT. THINK OF A DODGY CAR SALESMAN AND THEN THINK WICKES KITCHENS. IF YOU HAVE OLD RELATIVES WANTING A KITCHEN PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING.

“Very Poor Service”

written by mgjoe on 26/01/2023

Visited the Orwell Retail Park in Ipswich, with an interest in purchasing new worktops for my kitchen. Waited for a salesperson who could me with a quote, although the salesperson was very aware of me, there was no interest of any help for me. So I waited and waited still no help. Left the store and went to Ipswich Plastics, they where very helpful. They now have an order for £1500.

“Avoid at all costs”

★☆☆☆☆

written by CarmenAvaMaria on 02/01/2023

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This company, specifically the kitchen/bathroom installation department has made my Mother's life a misery for nearly a year. Everything has been a disaster and my Mother has been without a kitchen or bathroom for a year and is currently living with her sister until this situation is resolved. What makes this worse is the constant adverts on the radio promoting Wickes bathroom/kitchen department- is this a joke?!! I want to speak to a senior manager asap. Avoid this company!!

“Left me with a leak and refused to fix it”

Kitchen is fine but they had to move the stop tap which we subsequently found to be leaking. The fitter said he would charge us to fix it and wickes refused to do anything about it. Avoid them.

“Awful just awful. Avoid at all costs!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Neveragain123989 on 26/12/2022

Read this before you even think of asking Wickes to fit a kitchen or bathroom. 17 days to fit a kitchen ( badly ) that is 10ft by 8ft. Most fitters would have achieved this instal in 3, maybe 4 but hey let’s go wild and allow 5 days…. What were they doing for the other 12 days! Cupboard doors arriving damaged, one more than one occasion. Incomplete cupboard enclosures allowing tins to fall from top cupboards onto the work surface below and exposed electrical cables. Then you discover the kitchen you have just spent all that money on …. Is discontinued. Now onto the bathroom. 12 days…12 days to fit a bathroom with, 1 toilet, 1 bath, 1 shower enclosure and a sink in a tiny bathroom that measures 9ft by 8ft… seriously 12 days! The tiling was not of a good standard, it passed for 6/10 not impressed… and then to top things off… a Wickes tradesman trod on the plumbing upstairs and guess what…. FLOODED the lounge and hallway downstairs. Oh the joy! This happened in JUNE …. It’s now Christmas Day and we still have water-stairs on the ceiling and walls of my lounge and I’ve had to have the carpet professionally cleaned… oh… did I mention it was a brand new carpet costing £3500. The Wickes manager has been out to inspect the damage, and we have been waiting for their trades to return and finish this appalling install. I cannot put into the words the tears, stress, anxiety and full blow arguments this has caused my family. So before you think…”Let’s do it right” GET SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT!

“Excellent customer service”

★★★★★

written by fitjiffa on 26/09/2022

My kitchen was delivered nearly a year ago for me to fit myself. I still haven't finished, due to having to redo the floor, walls, electrics and fit a new massive timber support in our timber-framed house. We stored all the items in our basement and yesterday, I opened the box for the ceramic sink to find it cracked. I rang Wickes and explained the situation, but didn't hold out much hope of getting a new one for free. Well, I was wrong. At first he said it would be delivered on Saturday, but he thought that was too long, so he said he'd contact me later with an earlier day. Just got the email, its arriving on Thursday. Just brilliant service. Thanks Wicxkes.

“Wickes sold us a Kitchen on the pretense that the...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AyanaDuckworth on 14/09/2022

Wickes sold us a Kitchen on the pretense that the additional installer costs would be an "absolute maximum" of £1000. This was slightly over budget anyway but we paid for the kitchen and continued with the install. The install costs came to £3000. As we had already paid for the kitchen and it had been delivered, we no longer had the option to cancel and could barely afford the additional costs which we were ensured would not happen. This means we were effectively tricked by Wickes into ordering an affordable kitchen, only to be told too late that it was now far above the cost that was originally quoted to us. On completion of the Kitchen, there were a large number of items that had not been finished. The kitchen looked incomplete and untidy. The installer claimed this was not their responsibility. Wickes took the side of the installer, saying to me over the phone that Wickes are not responsible for making the kitchen look nice. I cannot understand how they can charge so much for a kitchen, and then not even care that it doesn't look how the customer wants it to. He then had the audacity to say that we could pay extra (even more than the £2000 that we had already been tricked out of) to get the rest of the Kitchen finished. Wickes are not up front about all costs. Wickes do not care about customer satisfaction. Wickes do nothing to help you other than repeating lines that protect themselves. In summary, Wickes are a disgrace and I would highly recommend that no one ever uses them for a new kitchen. 0 Stars.

Hi, sorry to say i received no compensation for the five month delay in fitting my kitchen. Wickes did provide a second fitting team to finish the kitchen, their work was far superior and they painted the kitchen and arranged for it to be tiled - I paid for the tiles- I am still not 100% happy with the kitchen and would never buy from Wickes again, doors are still out of alignment and the dishwasher door makes a dreadful screech each time it is opened and closed! the overall finish looks as if ait has been installed by me rather than a professional!
