“Worked for me”

★★★★★

written by ShazzyG13 on 26/08/2015

Used this last week in France. Stayed by a river and were usually plagued by insects. I've used other sprays/creams but still had the odd bite. Not with this stuff though. I was the only one to come away without a single insect bite. I sat outside in an evening in shorts while others fidgeted and scratched. Also used the "Incognito" soap which was very creamy texture. Not used soap in years. This stuff isn't cheap but I will def use in future. Sprayed in a morning then again after shower.

“It works for me”

I've been using this spray for years, the first time I got a few bites and tried it again when they changed the formula about 2 or 3 years ago. I can honestly say I haven't had a bite since, so thought I would share my experience. Before my most recent trip to the Maldives, with my wife & son, I visited their website, buying 2 other items: incognito citronella deodorant & an after sun moisturiser - both of these products were very good too.

“Worked for me”

written by captain-scarlet on 28/02/2013

In the past I'd been bitten a bit, although mozzies seem to prefer nibbling my wife! However, decided to give this a try as an alternative to the nasty deet stuff, and was pleasantly surprised at how effective it was. It smells fine, so putting it on wasn't unpleasant like other sprays and it kept the mossies at bay for my whole family (mum, dad and 2 young children). Very pleased with my purchase, just wish there was something like it as a suncream/aftersun.

“Worked in Uganda”

★★★★★

written by Kemptown_david on 18/11/2012

Used it last Xmas. My 8 year old son is asthmatic and is allergic to all the stronger repellents containing DEET. We spent a month in Eastern Uganda where there are huge numbers of very active mosquitos & a very nasty, resistant strain of malaria. My son had a habit of running around outside after dusk with no shirt on, to make things worse. But using the incognito spray in combination with the soap & shampoo meant he only got a couple of bites during the entire month & no asthma attacks. Highly recommended! Only negative would be the cost (very expensive), which might deter some people from buying it.

“great product - will definitely be buying it again”

it works!! used it in africa with the soap and didn't get a single bite, was very impressed as was a bit sceptical due to it being all natural. nice smell and texture, not oily or sticky and has a fresh fragrance that is quite mild and unnoticeable after a couple minutes. would definitely recommend this to anyone thinking of going abroad as a far better, safer alternative to deet.

“Protected my whole family in Turkey this summer!”

★★★★★

written by Chloe89 on 05/12/2011

I brought 5 bottles of incognito anti mosquito repellent as as well as some of their other products (incense sticks, moisturiser and Hair and body wash) after calling them up and getting some advice. I took the products with me on a trip to Turkey this summer. It was a family trip so we were a group of 7 with different ages. My Little cousins (2 and 6 years old) were there as well as my brother who has eczema and all were able to use it. It has a nice smell unlike its chemical alternatives and works really well! We did not get bitten although we did see other tourists on the beach with mozzie bites! We could even sit out in the evening and found their incense sticks great too. A tip I found useful was to spray some on the table when you are eating dinner outside to keep the mozzies away from your food. I found that the spray was great cos I could put it in my hand bag so I had it ready to top up and I didnt have to worry about it getting on my clothes or in hair etc as it doesnt stain and its non toxic! I thought the price was very reasonable as it actually did work and it was safe for the kids aswell. I have also noticed that they do occasionally have deals on their website. After an awful experience with DEET Im happy to have found incognito and will be using it again when I go to canada next summer.

“Stopped the bugs dead!”

★★★★★

written by Angie52 on 20/10/2011

I took the new version of incognito mosquito spray on holiday to Rhodes. It has a much nicer Bergamot fragrance than the usual Citronella which many other repellants have. I'm not usually one for getting bitten and to be honest I didn't really expect to be while in Greece but I am so glad that my husband is one of the unfortunate ones otherwise we would never had packed incognito in our case. Unfortunately neither of us started using the spray until day 3 of our two week holiday - when we had already been bitten several times each! Out came the incognito and well it was like a little barrier went up around us. We both continued to use the spray each evening for the rest of our holiday and neither of us got bitten again. You don't need to cover yourself in the spray either, just a spray at the back of the neck, elbows, knees and ankles does the job. It's not sticky, oily or greasy and like I say, the smell is really nice. While it may seem a little pricey,it certainly does what it is supposed to and I would definitely use it again - this time from the start of my holiday!

“Mosquitoes be gone!”

★★★★★

written by on 20/10/2011

I first used incognito at the beginning of this year in the house I moved to in london. Outside my bedroom is a stagnant body of water (great breeding area for all manor of mosquitos) and loads of mossies appeared this summer! On the one night I forgot to use my incognito, I got bitten 20 times - so I am someone who seems to attract them. When I used it I had no bites at all! Fab stuff :) I also use the incence sticks as soon as I spot any bugs and it tends to chase them away. And if you're afraid of spiders (like me :) then it works a treat in giving them the marching orders out of your room! What I like about it is that it doesn't kill then (because we need them for the flies) but just deters and repels them. The smell is quite strong, but disappears after a bit and is quite pleasant once settled. Great product, highly recommend!

“Not good”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 05/10/2011

I was disappointed with this product, I had the repellent and moisturing cream with repellent in it and did not work. It is more expensive than most. As I react badly to bites this spoilt my holiday to some degree. As I was in Europe I certainly would not use it in Afica or Central America or other countries with a mosquito problem.

“The new spray.”

★★★★★

written by karry2004 on 05/08/2011

My family and I have just used the new version of incognito insect repellent- it's absolutely fabulous! Not a single bite for any of us, it is so much stronger then the old version. The new stuff smells nice too! I must confess that after I got bitten using the old incognito 2 years ago, I tried every product I could buy in the UK and nothing worked. I'm not going to write a pile of negative reviews, but the DEET stuff just isn't working anywhere now as well as it used to and still smells terrible, plus it melts diferrent materials and is very harmful for skin. Well done incognito!

“Worked all over South America and Central America”

★★★★★

written by lefury on 03/08/2011

I used this stuff in South and Central America. Bought a load to take out for the few months I was there. Didn't get bitten whilst using it. Can't really say much else about it other than it really worked. All natural so didn't harm my skin. Didn't damage my clothes either. Did a lot of photography out there so managed to keep my cameras in good shape too. That deet stuff tends to melt through the plastic casings pretty quick so glad for that too. Can't recommend it highly enough

“A tasty marinade which mosquitos love!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 10/07/2011

We visited Borneo in June 2011 and purchased a few bottles of Incognito to use whilst we were in the rain forest. I covered my arms and legs in the stuff to ensure maximum protection against Mozzies but..... I was like a magnet to them!!! I must have been averaging around eight bites a day regardless of much spray I applied (Someone even referred to my repellent as a tasty meat marinade for Mosquito’s). After about four days of trying i decided to give up and use a bottle of Boots own brand extra strength DEET repellent and the biting came to an instant stop. So for me unfortunately it’s totally ineffective and i will have to stick with the DEET for a while longer yet.

Rather puzzled by this review as myself and many friends who have used incognito in Thailand, the Carribean, India and in mosquito central - the Gambia - have used it and have been 100 per cent bite free.
Moreover, if you look at icognito's webiste it has the backing of the London School of Tropical Medicine and the endoresement of the British Trading Standards and Trailfinder's Travel Clinic Medical Director.
I think the big mistake people make is they think the spray on its own will work. But you need a regime because mosquitoes are attracted by how much you smell. So shower, exfoliate and don't cover yourself in perfume. Once you're clean apply the repellent.
The point is DEET is a neurotoxin when used in large quantities - babies, small children and pregnant women are warned about using it. DEET has even been cited as a possible cause of Gulf War Syndrome!
I'd rather keep in natural.

I caught malaria in Brazil about ten years ago despite using a DEET repellent and being on anti-malarials.
Now, when I go abroad to areas where mosquitoes are prevelant I am scrupullious - and a bottle of incognito is always in my washbag. The key thing with mosquitoes is to disguise yourself so you need to shower every morning and every evening when you plan to go out (mozzies are most active in the evening) - then you apply your insect repellent.
incognito has been brilliant for me and my friends and I've left a comment elsewhere on this thread to that effect. A friend used incognito a couple of weeks ago in the Carribean and was bitten once - on the one day he didn't use icognito.
I couldn't recommend it more.

Can I ask in the mornings do you put suntan cream on first, i'm thinking Boots Protect and repell. 30spf for Thailands sun, then spray the incognito repellant over the top?

“Got bitten alive!”

written by on 07/06/2011

I dont usually write reviews but felt the need to due to my personal experience with this product. I purchased this product last year before a 2 week trip to Florida. I am all for using natural and non-toxic products which is why i initially bought this. I can honestly say IT DOESNT WORK. All of my family got bitten alive for the first week of our holiday - we coverered ourselves in this spray but still got badly bitten. By the second week i had had enought and purchased a deet based product from a chemist in Florida and didnt get bitten again. This product smells awful and doesnt work.

written by Anne Bolger on 10/03/2011

incognito spray was recommended to me by the Doctor in Trailfinders when I went in to get my shots for my recent trip to Asia - I went to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and India. I am fair skinned and mozzies love me so I was really worried about getting ill from mozzie bites. But the lovely Doctor had used it herself so I decided to give it a go. It was brilliant, I got only 2 bites on the entire 3 week trip and for me, that is a miracle. I did read through their website first and I think that really helped so I'm not sure if I would have had the same success if I just used the spray without following the other tips but what I did worked. I'll be definitely using this from now on - having used the chemical stuff before, this is much better in effectiveness and I really disliked having to put on deet (but before this, it was the only thing that actually worked).

It may be a good product and I am happy it has worked on other people. However, I'm using it in Thailand together with the Incognito incense sticks and I lost the count of the mosquito bites on my body. I get and average of 10 bites a day (I've been over 2 weeks).
I didn't go to the jungle. I am staying mainly in cities. I'm in Chiang Mai now and here is less efficient than ever.
Again, I don't want to say it's a bad product BUT I can say it's totally USELESS for me. My partner used it too. And he got bitten as well. The smell is overwhelming too.
I'm only glad to know it's a natural product and I didn't get any poison on my body.

Having read good reviews of this product, I decided to try it in Turkey last year. I got the full works, spray, after sun, soap, and I am sorry to report they were absolutely useless. I used them according to instructions but got bitten to death as usual. The smell of the stuff was also atrocious! Very strong citronella which made me wheeze. Cannot recommend at all.

I am proud to say I work for incognito, use our products and can thereby personally vouch for them. We have a range of products that all contain Javanese Citronella. Citronella has been used for centuries to ward away insects and we have managed to procure the essential oil from the Javanese variety hence why our products are so effective. Our newest formulation, just as an example, has been clinically proven to protect against malaria - something no other insect repellent can claim! There are simple techniques you can use to avoid getting bitten which when employed alongside our products invariably result in our customers not getting bitten. They are found under the useful info tab on our website www.lessmosquito.com. This is the first time I have ever encountered a customer dissatisfied with our products and while it won't be the last, the sheer number of returning customers and the amount of product we are moving speaks volumes.

Got back from St Lucia last night without a single bite which is the first time this has ever happened to me! My whole family, including my 5 month old daughter, also had no bites. We also used their after sun moisturiser in the evenings which smelt gorgeous too. I really cannot think of anything negative about either product.

Just want to say how impressed I am with the incognito spray, I used it in Barbados recently and did not get a single bite! This is the first time I've not been bitten so I want to tell the world about it. My friend also used it and was getting bitten until she stopped wearing her perfume, then it was no mosquito bites for her too. I hear they have some other products which I will check out

I have just returned from a 3 week trip to Trinidad and Tobago, last year i was eaten alive by the mosquitos ( as usual ) so this year i was determined and did alot of research before buying the Incognito spray, soap, soap with loofah and after sun cream.
I loved the soaps and cream, however the mosquito spray was of no use at all as a deterrant and i once again have scars from the itching...... oh well back to the drawing board!
