“Forda Farm in Highampton”

★★★★★

written by AmyT80 on 28/08/2016

What a great cottage. Really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were big and clean and the surrounding garden was fantastic. Our kids enjoyed playing tennis and our dog loved the space too. She made us feel very welcome and provided us with lovely treats on our arrival. Loved seeing the cow in the surrounding fields and appreciate all the hard work the Martins must do to run a lovely farm and lovely cottage for us to stay in. We used our car to travel to some lovely North Devon coasts and also to Bude, Cornwall. Would definitely recommend and would love to visit again. We was sad to leave and now back in Kent we are planning our visit for next year! Thank you once again.

“Mulberry Cottage”

★☆☆☆☆

written by MichealBroussard9 on 12/08/2016

Arrived earlier than expected to find the cottage not ready, though should have been ready by 3.00p.m. and cottages4you agreed. The cottage was empty the week before so there was no excuse. Owner nasty on the phone and café Nero Voucher does not make up for the greeting. Bath did not drain so after 3 showers the bath was like someone had had a bath. No cleaning equipment left so had to buy to keep bath clean. Took 24 hours to drain each time. No wardrobe just rail with 6 hangers for a house meant to sleep 6 people. Heating controlled by owner so could not turn on any heat when we got back wet. Nowhere to dry wet clothes. No heated towel rail so had wet towels to use all week.

“Sandy Ridge, Holland-on-Sea”

★★★★☆

written by Katrinad219 on 04/08/2016

We had such a relaxing week here. The owners had 'phoned beforehand to say that we'd be welcomed in person on arrival which gave us a good feeling about the place, they were rightly proud of their property & left us a very generous welcome pack. The unspoiledness of the location & the stunning light & so easily popping over the road to the beach as well as popping off to the shops - everyone was happy. We made as much use of the pool, hot tub & garden as the weather would allow. You'll find it's all really well equipped, sheltered & a very nice place to be. Inside the property plenty of space for everyone & total high-end comfort throughtout. The icing on the cake for us would have been an extra showering possibility on the ground floor but, having said that, we all enjoyed a really good week & would book again.

“Adorable Little Cottage in Sheringham ”

★★★★★

written by on 04/07/2016

Little cottage in Sheringham is a delightful cottage situated close to the sea and also the town. Small but perfectly formed, everything you could possibly need for a stay by the sea. Four adults and one little furry friend fit into this cosy cottage easily, the decor is delightful and totally in keeping with the style. Beds were comfy and we all slept well even the dog. Lots to do in the Sheringham area and beaches close by super for dog walking. Lots of shops in Sheringham and a fish and chip restaurant that caters for a gluten free diet!! Heaven when you haven't had proper fish and chips for a while. All in all a super stay in a lovely cosy cottage.

“Bellwood house annex in Felixkirk”

★★★★★

written by G.leopold on 22/06/2016

I would recommend this property to a couple or single person. It is an ideal property in the lovely little village of Felixkirk near Thirsk. The property is very clean, nicely furnished and has an ideal secure garden for dogs. My dog loved it and I could sit in the garden with a glass of wine knowing she was safe. The owners are lovely and welcoming with a good knowledge of the area. Ideal for exploring the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales.

“Lovely accommodation. Palm Court Apartments, Shanklin. IOW”

★★★★☆

written by on 12/06/2016

Have just spent 5 days at the Palm Court with my husband and granddaughter. We had a fabulous time on the island and the apartment was great. Everything you need is provided, they are spacious, clean and beautifully furnished. The owners are great, very welcoming and even checked to make sure everything was o.k. during our stay. Beds very comfortable, clean linen and towels. The complimentary milk and wine was very much appreciated. The front garden is enclosed enabling our granddaughter to be able to run around safely. Location was perfect, 5 min walk to the beach and 10 mins to town and the old village. I would highly recommend these apartments for either a couple or family.

“Disappointed”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Lorrneil on 20/05/2016

We booked a cottage in Anglesey beaumaris - Ty Bach and prior to us departing a review appeared saying the cottage was cold. I rang and they assurred me it was fine. On arrival it was not only cold it was dirty, damp. We reported the issues but we were informed that the owner did not agree. We had photographs of the many issues but feel that we were not taken seriously. We wrote a review about the property but it was not published so we could not inform others of the dicrepency with details published. Do not book with this company is my advice. We feel that the advert, description and star rating were inaccurate but they failed to act on the information we supplied about the property.

“The Old Forge Garden Room. Wnterborne Whitechurch.Dorset.”

★★★★★

written by Loowiss on 30/04/2016

This is a delightful holiday let. It has been imaginatively converted and is cosy, convenient and very comfortable. It has a lovely wet room! The kitchen area is well designed and equipped. The bed is very comfortable. Storage is more than adequate for a holiday stay. Everything is in good condition and is spotlessly clean. It is so well planned that it is easy to keep it clean and tidy. We were made to feel very welcome. Such friendly hosts. The area is full of interesting and beautiful scenery and things to do. No hesitation in recommending it.

“Damp and Mould”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Keeffish on 20/04/2016

Family recently stayed at 11 GURNARD PINES, Isle of Wight booked with COTTAGES 4 YOU. On arrival, we smelt a strong smell of bleach, we,hoped it was clean! We Left luggage to meet up with friends and get shopping. We returned to the strong smell of damp and on further inspection noticed damp and mould spores in the bathroom living room and one of the bedrooms. The bathroom smell of damp was so unbearable we could not even use the washing facilities. The bleach had originally masked the smell. We had no choice but to stay that night but immediately contacted COTTAGES 4 YOU in the morning. We explained that our party had vulnerable guests with respiratory illness' and we could no longer stay in the property as it was a serious Health Risk. Cottages 4 You would only look for properties within their own company at a similar price and informed us at 3.30pm they were unable to help. We explained that we were literally stranded with nowhere to stay, with little if any, chance of even getting a ferry to then drive home a long distance, exhausted, due to little sleep due to the terrible conditions of the property. Without anywhere to stay, we begged for their help to look on the internet to find us somewhere suitable as our signal was limited, they said they could not. Despite us supplying photographic evidence of damp, mould alongside a rusty microwave and dirty toaster, Cottages 4 You continued to advertise the property. We were offered £100 compensation that didn't even cover the additional cost of another property that we found at the 11th hour thanks to Sykes who were brilliant. Cottages for you completely let us down. Would never use again.

“take advantage of you”

★☆☆☆☆

written by THELCDAWSONS on 13/02/2016

I had the Old Vicarage booked at Wetwang with cottages for you unfortunately we had to cancel with a reasonable 6 mths notice due to my granddad having altzimers, it suddenly progressed quickly so a family decision was made to use the money we would have paid to build a downstairs bathroom for him, when we cancelled we were told that non of our money would be refunded and that they wanted proof of his illness, unfortunately he died and we didn't see it fit to invite cottages for you to the funeral as proof. The cottage has been re -let on some of the days we had booked so the owner has now made money out of us and another client, just seems like greed to me, having read other reviews about cottages for you it seems its not just us who have had a bad experience. Would not recommend to anyone if you don't want the added stress of a relative dying then having to argue with this insensitive bunch STAY AWAY

“Fab house”

★★★★★

written by irvine1 on 01/02/2016

We have just returned from staying at Island view Dunure. We were in a party of 8. We had a great time. The accommodation was lovely and clean and everything was in working order. It was a terrible weekend for cold weather. The house was really warm. We did have a problem trying to regulate the heating system but we were given a contact person who did show us. The hot tub/sauna/cinema room was also a fantastic bonus. The bedrooms were lovely (all with en-suites).There was also a lovely pub (Dunure Inn) were we had a fantastic meal and the locals were great company. We would definitely return.

“Help centre staff went that extra mile ”

★★★★☆

written by classycas on 03/01/2016

We had pre-booked a cottage in September for a week over the Christmas holidays in the Lake District, due to unprecedented weather the village we were going to had been flooded three times and clean up was still on-going. I contacted the help centre to voice my concerns about staying especially over the Christmas period, they contacted the cottage owner and caretaker to check that all was well, the help centre staff made sure everyone was kept in the loop, and regularly kept me up to date. We made the journey on their reassurances that everything was ok and had a wonderful Christmas break. Sadly due to more rain the surrounding arrears suffered devastating floods, and many roads were impassable due to flooding, our sympathies go out to communities hit by the severe weather. We have booked many times with cotages4you and while ever they give outstanding service we will continue to book with them.

★★★★★

written by AliHanne30 on 23/11/2015

Wonderful stay with fabulous views of the sea. Everything you could have asked for and more. EXTREMELY cosy and warm accommodation, even a pint of milk left in the fridge. The Summer period must be breathtaking and lots to see and do in Portland and Weymouth. The Owners make us so welcome and it is just so relaxing.A thumbs up from me and my husband. Go and see the light house as well as the Lobster Pot Cafe.

“Fire alarms or lack of them!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 06/11/2015

Cottages 4 you, failed to ensure or validate a fire risk assessment was adequate in a 10 bedroomed Manor House in Matlock Derbyshire. Property, Lea Hall, is being investigated by the Fire Service in Derbyshire for the failure of fire detection or warning systems Myself, friends, family and a dog, had to run for our lives at 6:00am in the morning from this letting. I would not recommend this company to anyone and all other survivors of this fire feel likewise. Cottages 4 you, feel it is up to the owners to perform a fire risk assessment, a think they use a tick box requirement. All you need when you are running for your life.

“Honey suckle cottage, Watchet Somerset.”

★★★☆☆

written by terry8 on 17/10/2015

I booked cottages 4 u for a weeks stay at honey suckle cottage watchet somerset. I arrived at the property after a 6 hours of traveling, and found i could not get the key out of the key safe, so i rang the caretaker and he told me that we had tried to contact you and let you know the cottage has been double booked. The caretaker had left messages from the time of 3.30pm but i had never pulled over from driving to check them. i was offered accommodation nearby in dulverton which would have taken another hour or so to get there.i was not happy in excepting an alternative so far away. A cottages 4u message on my mobile offered another property, but said i needed to pay extra costs of which i was not going to pay. I decided to drive home which took another 4 and a half hours. I was refunded all the money from the booking.i will not be using cottages 4 u again as ive not been offered any compensation for the stress of the situation and having taken days of work unpaid its all led to a very disappointing week. i had been looking forward to the holiday for many months, it was a complete let down.

I have just booked a Cottages4You holiday in France. I have used Cottages4You for French holidays before and it has been great, no problem. This time, however, I am a bit worried because the refundable deposit that the owner wants at the start of the holiday is 200 euros (the same cost as the holiday itself). I understand it is a refundable deposit but is there ever any problems getting the money back? If I leave the property as I found it, will the owner be fair and give a full refund? Also is it normal to charge for cleaning at the end of the holiday (25 euros)? Because of the huge amount of money involved, I am really worried now. Property is FNC034 in Arromanches. I have paid deposits in the past but they have always been around 50 euros - never this high.

Thanks for answering this question.

Our experience with Cottages for you was Excellent and our experience with the owner was equally as good. The owner of the cottage we stayed in contacted us to check we were happy during our stay, I would certainly trust Cottages for you if they assure you that the deposit is refundable, I hope this helps.
