We have used Iglu a number of times and did so again for a Xmas cruise on the Queen Elisabeth. This time, several instances of feeling being ripped-off" as Iglu were less than honest over several 'cost' related aspects of the cruise. Once these were referred back to Iglu, Iglu has hidden behind its commercial agreement with Cunard in terms of explaining the "anomalies". We no longer trust them or will do business with them again. With Iglu and Cunard, watch out for hidden "nice little earners! for both parties. These can add £1,000s of unexpected costs to your cruise. Examples include hidden gratuities; being encouraged to pay for upgrades that do not materialise; the policy of no on-board spend for anyone [except those that get it] and being talked into buying higher priced tickets that guarantee a discount if the price of the cruise drops - of course the price never drops as they give 'secret' gift-vouchers instead. At the very least, a sleight of hand. Potentially illegal.

“bad customer service”

recently booked a cruise with iglu, however when I rang them after additional offers were added they did not want to know ,kept fobbing me off saying they would call me back, had me waiting on end of phone for half an hour ,were no help at all, even lied and said the price had gone up when I had price on laptop in front of me on official cruise website, will never book with them again.

“Beware of Uglu Cruises”

Beware! I booked a transatlantic cruise around the Caribbean for my Mum's 60th birthday and she was over the moon and very excited. The problems began when unfortunately her leave from work was denied and we needed to move the cruise. I called their customer care centre who informed me that we would be charged £75 per person to change the booking which was disappointing as other cruise lines such as Fred Olsen waiver the fee if the replacement cruise costs more. We decided to go ahead and book an alternative Royal Caribbean cruise with Iglu and pay the administration fee. The price of the new cruise advertised online was £1110 each but we were told that the price to be charged to us would be £1514! This was apparently because we were not 'new' customers. Quite unbelievable since we actually have not travelled with them before so did consider ourselves new. We were advised that the best thing to do would be to cancel the original cruise, loosing our deposit and re-book as this was the cheapest way. We didn't feel like our business was at all valued and they were happy to lose us as customers. Sadly these hiccups really made this a chore and took the shine off something that was supposed to be a lovely experience for my Mum. Please make sure that you are absolutely certain before you book with Iglu as I wouldn't want other people to fall into the same trap.

“Inflated Prices (their commission)”

Wanted to book with Thomson but kept getting diverted to Iglu so WRONGLY assumed that I had to book a Thomson cruise through them. Their prices were £260 more for exactly the same thing that Thomson and Cruise Direct were quoting. I had just booked with Iglu when ten minutes late the other much cheaper quotes came through! I felt physically sick and phoned to complain, as you can imagine Iglu were very off-hand with me and said it was too late and they also told me that gratuities were not included, even though Thomson advertised the cruise as gratuities included. Their mark up prices/commission are extortionate - AVOID AT ALL COSTS - wish I had.

“Abrupt Arrogant Disrespecfull”

Just like to say its the worst cruise rep I have ever spoken to,and I have spoken to quit a lot,and it was as if he did not want speak to you. I found the guy very patronising and rude, best of all contacted the cruise line direct and got a much better deal and a the guy who dealt with the inquiry was very helpful so my advice is ignore IGLU and book with other agents who are pleasant and get you a much better deal

“It started BEFORE the Cruise”

We've booked through Iglu before. I can't recall a problem. This time the booking went fine. A very helpful advisor took our Cruise booking in about 20 mins. Wow did things change!! After that staff were very cold when booking additional packages. The documents came through and we found it was Easyjet. Ok.. he didn't actually tell us that, nor did we say we didn't want Easyjet, but when we queried this later the rep insisted we were told so. After that it just went downhill. Dinner bookings were made in advance tehn Iglu claimed they couldn't be booked in advance. Staff were positivly aggressive when querying this, answering questions with counter questions. Finally when I phoned back to get info on complaints proceedure the staff member hung up. Oh .. and Iglu complaints page was off line. Surely the prime requisite of such staff is to resolve problems.. not make them? We cruise frequently. I've been stuck in a cold buss shed waiting for a transfer for 6 hours and not had cause to complain, but never had a problem like this before. (And before the holiday starts!!)

“Never again !! Ugly Iglu !!”

Booked a cruise and stay package and given an airline that we would never have chosen and they refuse to change the flights. My partner is terminally ill and this was to have been the holiday of a lifetime. She is devastated. Had booked a cruise with them 3 years previously and wasn't thrilled as they told us there were no balcony cabins left and 10 minutes after our booking, friends booked a balcony on the same cruise. Their after sales service is a disgrace and they really cannot be trusted.

“No customer care”

I booked with a very helpful lady. Received an email confirmation which advised I should received the cruise company's confirmation by a certain date. When I did not receive this I phoned and spoke to customer services, who insisted the confirmation had been emailed to me, and suggested I might want to check my junk mail etc. After much toing and froing and repeatedly sending me the original email, I finally received the confirmation I had been waiting for. Several months later, I received the parking voucher, for the free parking which was part of the deal. My husband had changed his car in the meantime, so I phoned through the information and was told I would be sent replacement docs. After not hearing anything, I emailed the info and immediately received new documents. On checking several days later I found I had mistyped the registration, and emailed requesting a replacement. I had a reply telling me they had already done this. I have sent another email which has been ignored, tried to phone but lines have closed (even though message tells me they close at 8pm and it is well before that time). Will not book through iglu again, customer service is appalling!!

“IGLU - RUDE - UNPROFESSIONAL - RUINED CRUISE !!”

Me and my girlfriend booked a caribbean cruise through iglu and spoke to the advisor when we originally booked. We asked for direct flights back which he agreed to which is why we went ahead with the booking.This was all booked in January 2013 2 weeks ago(End of July) we recieve an email stating Flight changes. We now have to fly from san juan to Ney york wait around 5 Hours then fly to heathrow! We rang numerous times to iglu to which we was spoken to in a very unprofessional manner i left messages in ivanas answering machine to which she doesnt call back. Finally we got in touch with a manager and asked if we could transfer to another cruise with the same cruise liner they gave us a price nearly twice as much as it states online! the manager again spoke to use with very little care. I would prfer to cancel the cruise now as i dont like the way they treat their customers but now i loose a £300 deposit for Iglu's mess up with our cruis. Customers always right Not in Iglus case... They have your money mess you around and couldnt care about their customers at all. Would avoid Iglu.

“Problems with Iglu Cruise Company”

I have also had a problem with a cruise booking made with this company. I booked a cruise for November and had a future cruise certificate, I gave the reference number over the phone, and thought all was well. Just had a phone call from Iglu and my cruise has been booked with no future cruise deposit which included OBC of £200.00, they are basically calling me a liar and claiming that I never gave them reference number over the phone. I thought that all calls were recorded. I have sent two emails and still no reply !!

im having problems over future cruise certificate it is sorted now i did ask for a manager ring me back and explain im still waiting. i dont think they care at all. The best we can do is not give them our custom every again

We had problems getting our future cruise certs acknowledged and credited, and yes they do make you feel as if they think you are lying.
We've had good service from this company before, so not sure why the service has been so bad this time,

“booking service from hell”

First person I dealt with on the booking seemed fine and helpful. Only trouble was he didn't get the email address right and it took 4 phone calls to get it changed to the right one. Then the booking came through as the wrong date. That took 3 more phone calls to get changed and at the time of writing I still haven't had an accurate cruise confirmation email. Am hoping that when the etickets are issued they are for the right date but have little hope. Back to the Bolsover Cruise Centre next time!

“After-Sales Rude and Useless”

After booking and paying in full 3 months in advance, a non-sensical e-mail arrived from Iglu. After 4 telephone calls and being accused by a Russian or Polish advisor that I was racist(!) I worked it all out for myself. Still don't know whether my parking which was promised me at the time of booking is confirmed. Hope I don't have more unpleasantness. After-Sales staff need some serious training.

“Was worried, but Tina was great”

I booked a 10k hoilday last week and was dissappointed when the confirmation came through as it wasn't what I had agreed to over the phone with Tina. I called customer services who were not very helpful and didn't seem bothered. So I called the ladie that booked my cruise and I have to say she fully explained the situation to me and I understand how the problem occured. She has made other arrangements with the cruise line to get me the two rooms of my choice. having read some of the there reviews I was terrified that I had made a huge mistake booking with Iglu, however she has been exceptionally helpful and atentive. I would recommend asking for her directly. A note to the other advisor. . Having read some of the other reviews this lady seems to be a credit to the sales team. Maybe the Customer Service dept.. should spend some time with her to see how it should be done. To be honest if i'd read any of these reviews before i'd booked I most probably would have paid extra and booked through a high street travel agent. If you want a great price and great service then I suggest you ask for my agent.

“Cruise from Cape Town to Southampton”

We had all the support we needed in the period up to departure: they were polite, prompt and efficient in everything they did or we asked them to do and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. We have always had an excellent service from them and have no hesitation in recommending them to friends.

“Terrible Customer Service - NEVER BOOK with IGLU...”

I would never ever book with IGLU again !!!! Absolutely appauling service on so many levels. To start with they invoiced £700 more than they quoted us on the phone - they then eventaully accepted it was their fault. They then denied that the "free Southampton" car parking was included - incredibly frustrating and time consuming - with lots of phone calls backwards and forwards!!!! Very unprofessional and rude!!!They are very very quick to take your money but not to provide any half decent service after this. I work in a service industry and wouldn't dream of treating any customer like this.

I acknowledge that your concerns could have been handled better in this instance, especially in respect to the issuing of an incorrect invoice. Whilst I appreciate that this was eventually resolved, I am sorry that this was only at the second time of asking.

In respect to the car parking, I can confirm that your cruise line was not offering complimentary parking in this instance and likewise this was not advertised by Iglu.com as an added benefit of this cruise. We've reviewed the call recordings and can confirm that free parking was discussed in respect to an alternative holiday about which you enquired, though never in respect to this particular holiday.

I hope that I have been able to clarify our position in this instance, and I wish you a most enjoyable voyage.

“Tailormade BUT for whom”

I have dealt with a few agents in my time but this is one of they worst. Absolutely no mention of visa requirements and the extra costs this incurs,once you find out its a race to get it in time. Tailor made is a joke they do it the cheap way for their benifit, like booking flights to join the cruise sounds great but if you are requiring a regional flight to London then on to another destination, instead of giving you one ticket so that you can book your luggage through and it is the carriers responsibility to get you there they give you two separate ticket the reson it is cheaper for them, so all you have to do is worry that there is no delays. Like the others on this site you have to badger them for your tickets only then to discover their cheap tricks. My advice don't use them there are plenty other people out there with honest advice.

“never again”

I feel like many reviewers on here- yes we got a great price but the agent was rude and unhelpfull. I was basically called a liar even though the calls are meant to be recorded . Even the MDS are not interested. would never book with them again.

“Prices are great but beware”

Iglu prices are really good but they refuse to confirm any quote by email. How can you accept a verbal quote that could alter considerably and you would not have a leg to stand on.Even though I could have saved £500 I refused to book with them I was told it was company policy not to confirm prices!!!

I can categorically state that it is not Iglu.com's policy to refuse to provide quotes by email. Indeed, the nature of our business means that we are replying to emails with prices of cruises throughout the day.

As we are acting as a travel agent for the cruise lines (who are setting the prices of the holiday), we have to make the caveat that the prices, whilst correct at the point of sending, can change at any time without notice. There was an occasion recently where we were asked to provide a written quote that we could guarantee would be confirmed at whatever point it was decided to proceed with this booking (ie in contradiction to our terms of business). We can't provide quotes on this basis and therefore we had to refuse.

I hope that I have been able to clarify our policy in this instance.

“when booked and paid deposit they do not want to know ”

I booked a Baltic cruise with Iglu for August 2013. The TA was very helpful at the time and gave me his direct telephone line should I have any problems or questions in the future. This was six months ago and when I phoned a few days ago regarding the booking of Celebrity tours he was very curt and said it was nothing to do with them as I had booked the day tours with Celebrity. Now he may well be right but he could have been more polite about it, he could not get me off the phone qick enough and I really do mean in seconds I will never book anything through them again.
