I registered with Best Connection in Newcastle for Industrial work and it was a shambles from start to finish. I was interviewed by a 'consultant' named Paula who seemed more interested in herself and telling me how young she looked for her age, very professional start!! (She looked OLDER than her age!!) but she dressed like a 20yr old, embarrassing. I was offered work a week or so later and took the job, I was told a pay rate and when the money would be in the bank (The following Friday which is the norm with agencies) When I finally did get paid 2 weeks later the pay rate was lower than I had been told, I called the office to speak with Paula but she was not there, I got to speak to Eric the Branch Manager... WOW, MANAGER?!?! He couldn't manage to fart on a diet of baked beans!! He was hopeless and didn't have a clue. The whole experience was terrible from my interview with Old Paula to my converstion with squeeky Eric... DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY!!!!

I Signed up with Best connection Chesterfield after seeing them Advertising Jobs on the Jobcentre website. They sign you up & tell you about the Job,though when it come to sending you to do it,its a different matter. The (so called Consultant) Byron Scott should write fiction Books!,he tells you a compendium of Lies and pretends to care, when really he just wants you to be another number for him to ring when he's desperate.Unless your wanting to get messed about and sit at home waiting for the phone to ring.....STAY WELL AWAY.

To whom it may concern,
Apologies for the late response but I have only just been made aware of your comment.
After reading your comments I was concerned that your experience with The Best Connection Chesterfield was such an unpleasant one.
I would be more than happy to discuss your issues and discuss with you how we recruit drivers whilst showing you that all the jobs we advertise are 'real' and are currently available.
I would also like to highlight that we are very much recruiting for drivers currently on several contracts and would be happy to discuss these with you if you are still looking for work
Please feel free to contact me on 01246 209222 to discuss this matter further.
Kind Regards

Their office in Portsmouth is terrible. The way they responded to me was absolutely unacceptable when I telephoned to find out about my pay slip and the miss-payments. I started working in Royal mail for this agency from 15/12/2011 and didn't have any night off. 3 nights 8 hours and 4 nights 12 hours. the first 4 nights I worked on Thursday (15/12/11) 8 hours, Friday(16/12/11) 8 hours Saturday(17/12/11) 8 hours and Sunday(18/12/11) 12 hours and I was just been paid 22.5 hours. The lady who I talked to today neither admitted her mistake in my payslips nor she provided me with any evidence or proper explanation. the just didn't pay me. as simple as that. ====================

Absolutely AWFUL!!! this agency is terrible! the staff are horrible and unprofessional! this agency should be renamed THE WORST CONNECTION. If you plan on going to the Earl's Court branch, DON'T BOTHER, the people there are morons! especially the manager Tom Meakin, he's a con man, he will smile in your face for you to sign up to the agency, but once you've signed up and start working, he calculates what you are suppose to be paid all wrong, basically he steals your hard earned money, he pockets too much money and gives you little. When you try and ask him about it, he gets very angry and doesn't want to know. DO NOT GO TO THIS AGENCY, THE ARE FRAUDSTERS!!

was called out to cover a shift. was told that there could be more shifts available. did what was asked. did not hear from them, then when I rang up to ask why i had not been paid, i was told they would ring back, they did not. I rang a couple of days later and they were rude to me saying it was my fault, (they do the time sheets) I have not been paid so will not do any more work for them they have riped me off.

I'm about to take them through small claims court over missing payments.
Trying to deal with them is hell, they fob you off and mess you around, why? do they think I'll forget about 200 quid??
I suggest you do the same, this is what the small claims court is for.

Rubbish.
Rude, unprofessional and no work at the end of the unpleasant experience of dealing with them.

I worked on several contracts with the Birmingham branch of Best Connections and found the whole time (about a year and a half) to be totally stressful.
On starting the staff was polite and professional and seemed keen on getting me in to work I at this time put this down to them having my best interests at heart but soon learned I was just a money making machine for them. There was several times when I was told that a contract would be 3 months plus only to get on the job and find out it was a day or two when calling to question my advisor during these contracts he would not return my calls and would get staff to say he was out of the office. There was many times where I would be out of work for numerous days and weeks being told to call each morning at 9am to see what work was available if there was work available I was expected to locate and get to a job within an hour often most of the work was on the other side of town and being from Birmingham they was not easy to get to. I finally lost my will to be treated like this and when telling my advisor that I no longer wished to work for Best Connections I was greeted with being told I was lazy and that I would not be offered another contract followed by some very vulgar language before he hung up. It surprised me when 3 days later another advisor called me back saying I had been recommended by my advisor and would I like to start work tomorrow... As you can imagine I turned this offer down. If you work for Best Connections expect to be mistreated.

i have worked for the agency for a couple of months, and to be honest with you i have never worked in an environment with full of nice people, the staff at the best connection in Staines are just fantastic and they will help anyone in need of a job.
i have read alot of reviews regarding this agency and i 100% completely disagree.
i had been unemplyed for a while and i spoke to the agency and i got offered a job straight away. I have already recommend the agencies to my friends and i would recommend to more people. if you need help they will give it to you straight. once again it's lovely working with people that care.

So tell me mister, which is it?
Are you one of the ******* (they won't let me swear!) managers (or some other senior official) of The Worst (sorry freudian slip) Best Connection?
Or are you just mentally ill?
Because it must be one of those two?
I mean of the thirty odd reviews of these useless, exploiting, ******(Again they won't let me swear!) that are on this site, only you and some other idiot are the ones are singing their praises?

I worked for this agency in a warehouse environment with the bristol office. On my first day, i was placed in a team of about 8 people all of which were non english speaking. I was told that i would have a minimum of 37 hours a week there as the pay was poor i could just make ends meet. Without any warning the hours dropped and i found myself doing 2-3 days a week. On 1 or 2 occasions i drove the 40 minute drive in only to be told that the agency had been informed that there was no work and was sent home. The pay was somtimes wrong and they never even mentioned that i was entitled to holiday pay. I only found out that the contract had run it's course when i turned up for work one day and the shift manager sent us all home. I went back to best for some other work and they offered me 1 day a week, so i was better off on the dole. The agency rang me up and asked me to do the odd 1 day a week, when i informed them that i was on jobseekers allowance and needed full time work to come off the dole, they replied " NO ONE EVER CHECKS. YOU WON'T GET CAUGHT". Very aggressive office staff as well as they were not happy at the fact that i had said no.
I met a guy standing outside the office who claimed that he had not been paid for 5 WEEKS.
Do not touch this agency with a barge pole.

I have worked for the best connection for 10 months with the same comapny on a more or less permanant basis never been in trouble then one morning i had a call from best telling me that the company no longeer wanted me and i was not to go there again I know its not because there is no longer any work because they are still advertising in the local job centre I asked what i had done wrong and i was told they were not given a reason i know the managers of the particular company and they did not know why i was no longer required and they were fed up with non english speaking staff being supplied one night out of 40 agency staff only 2 were english speaking

The staff at the Sunderland branch really couldnt care less about the temp staff, one in particular Kay Hawmann one of there supposed "recruitment Consultant" totally screwed me over with my holiday pay , she promised that my holidays would be put in so i would get paid for them the following friday ( as i had only been given 3 days work in the previous 2 months) needless to say she didnt and when i rung the office to find out why i hadnt been paid I was told she hadnt filled any forms in and she was now on holiday and there was nothing they could do. this left me in a position where i couldnt tax my car and lost three days work the following week. Didnt even get an appology from them. If they cant keep a HGV Driver with 10 yrs experience working they shouldnt be in this business. They constantly keep putting ads in the jobcentre stating they have positions avaliable just to get people to sign up to them , needless to say half the time these positions are about as real as The Tooth Fairy ( a practise that caused me to leave the industry in the 90's as i was a consultant for another large agency in Leeds)If I had quit and signed on I would have been better off by £850 since end of November.
In MY opinion this is an unproffesional agency that is best avioded like the Plague.
P.S The only reason i have given it a rating of 1 star is that the site wont let me leave the rating blank, maybe a minus rating would be an idea if people are to truelly get there point across!

Got offered a job in a Food Produce company, processing the waste, and was told that if I didnt like it, I could cancel straight away with no notice needed. I thought OK, I'll do it then as long as I can cancel if I wish. After 1 day shuvveling peelings all day, and realising that I would be doing 55 hour weeks doing this due to faulty equipment that always breaks down, outdoors in rain, snow or shine, I decided to cancel. They got snotty on the phone, even though I apologised and was genuinely sorry, and refused to offer me work again. I never got paid for that day, even though they stated that they would, and every phonecall I made got nothing but excuses from them.

I am unhappy with the service supplied by The Best Connection, I personally dont feel they put 100% into trying to get recruitment for me therefore I do not recommend www.thebestconnection.co.uk.

To whom it may concern,
Further to the above message and apologies for the late response. I have unfortunately only just been made aware of your comments.
I am sorry to hear that you feel your experience of using The Best Connection was an unpleasent one.
I would be happy to discuss these issues with you and to talk you through our recruitment process so as to assure you that all positions advertised at the time of being placed are very much 'real' and currently available positions.
We are currently recruiting for several driving positions and may be able to talk to you about current and forthcoming roles available to our candidates if you are still looking for work.
Please feel free to contact myself on 01246 209222
